The Family Crab in Enfield

Was optimistic about this venue as I’m quite a seafood connoisseur and it doesn’t take too long for me to get here, had I enjoyed anything about it, I would have returned, but after what I can only describe as a “miserable” experience, I definitely won’t be. Walking in and not seeing the plush interior I’m used to, I told myself that maybe the food will make up for the dingy decor…. How wrong was I… We placed our order, drinks included, and was near enough verbally assaulted for payment… shame our drinks and food weren’t delivered at such a speedy pace…. When our beverages finally arrived after about 15 minutes, they were actually incorrect and were served in cans, no glasses whatsoever….and a straw?! Ridiculous… however we were so thirsty by this point we just drank them. Then our food came…it was the saddest looking seafood boil I’ve ever set my eyes on… it was actually depressing. Everything is overcooked…and the so called butter sauce it came in was literally water with the tiniest bit of butter, the seafood was just sitting in it looking very pathetic…it was giving seafood boil from wish, truly underwhelming, had I know it was going to look like that, I literally wouldn’t even pay £1 for it (it made perfect sense by this point why payments are taken up front) also, the crab was coming out in itty bitty pieces as opposed to a nice intact piece, and the prawns were bland and rubbery…. I must also mention the Mac and cheese….now…. This had a decent flavor, but was dryyy, that’s all I have to say about that. The only mildly pleasant thing was the lemon pepper sauce…just a shame that there was nothing to dip in it. Last but not least, their cutlery was vile… it literally had old food stuck to it…🤮 In a nutshell I would not come back here if someone dragged me! The whole experience was abysmal. Seafood boil ❌ Seafood spoil ✅ 2nd part of my review after the threatening nature of a “response” from the owner… The fact that your guests need to feel “brave” to share feedback about your venue just says it all to be honest. As for having too much time, I believed a review was in desperate need, so people don’t willingly go and throw their hard earned money away, plus, it didn’t take much time at all. After the experience we had at The Family Crab, I wasn’t expecting anything different to be fair. A response that reflects the venue perfectly. Unprofessional, negative and way below par.

I had a really disappointing experience at this seafood restaurant. The moment I walked in, the place reeked of an overwhelming fishy smell that made it hard to enjoy anything. The kitchen looked filthy—definitely not up to any standard of cleanliness I’d expect from a place serving food. They advertised a buffet menu, but it was a total lie; and were completely different from what was promised. To top it off, several tables were left uncleared and dirty, with old food and napkins just sitting there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who cares about hygiene or honesty.

Great good and service. Staff were super friendly, helpful and patient, especially when there were a couple tables of people that were less than polite. 10/10 would recommend

I dined at family Crabb last night and…i’m very confused at some of the reviews on here! The seafood boil was DELICIOUS, service was 10/10, and overall experience was lovely. We will be coming back and ordering even more next time !!!

Food not so tasty, small portions for the price and it takes a long time to bring you the food, I went with my brother and we ordered a lobster and a crab, it took 50 minutes to bring us the food and the service was terrible, we will not go back

Shameful place. Reasons why I'm writing this review. 1. 15 minutes to take your order 2. They charge you in advance (even the service charge of 10% of the total) before receiving anything. 3. It took 50 minutes to bring us the food and this is not an exaggeration, I calculated it 4. Very expensive price for small portions that you can eat in a more luxurious and more professional restaurant 5. You eat with your hands, it's fine until you start to prick your hand with the lobster and hurt yourself (because it's not cut from the beginning)

Family of 4. The waitresses were okay, although the wait for the food was ridiculously long. The chairs and floor was dirty. (15/02- 7:40pm) Value was terrible- we ordered 4 whole lobsters with 2 portions of ‘XXL’ head on prawns, 4 colas, fried calamari, and fries. Came out to £156 including service charge. We were charged up front to prevent people from walking out which is understandable. The prawns’ size were nowhere near ‘XXL’. Flavour wise too they were very bland, we got the lemon pepper ones. The lobster was appalling. there was water pissing out of the claws when opening them which i found disgusting. The quality of the lobster was sub par too. The only flavour that was okay was the cajun sauce. The potatoes were slightly undercooked but the corn was good. The fries were big and chunky and tasted alright but the portion size was shocking!! Could literally count the amount on my fingers. The fried calamari was unironically the nicest thing that we ordered. Crispy, tasty and flavourful. Its actually really unfortunate as this place used to be nicer. I have a lot of constructive criticism and advice that the owner would benefit from applying greatly.

The worst food I have ever had! ordered crab they brought me crab legs like Match sticks and super large prawns were tiny prawns what a joke! Funny enough we had to pay before hand so they knew the food is not worth the money! £190 for 4 it was like throwing money in the bin as soon as I got out went straight to burger shop because I was starving! Rip off, disgusting food and not worth going there! I give them half star!

The food was amazing, we got hit with the sauce it was spicer than we were expecting but nevertheless it was great, the young waitress serving us was really friendly and although we had a wait a while for our food, she kept checking back in to make sure we were ok. Found this place on Tic Tok, love seafood so booked. I was a little worried after reading some reviews but glad I went. The food was amazing, best prawns I have ever had Was all delicious. Messy but delicious 🤭. Drove 1.5hrs to get there and would defo do again. Staff were good, little slow when busy but nothing major and were very polite, it’s busy with takeaways as well as restaurant so a little Patience is all that’s needed. I felt it was good value and would return/will return.

Went there and the food is delicious. But very disappointed as we couldn’t get any fried dishes as they cook pork in the same oil. So advice to management, don’t let one dish ruin all of the other dishes customers can buy

Food was nice but took too long to come out i came for my birthday and had some where else to go after food came out 35 - 40 mins later so only had one round of all you can eat plus chair covers was dirty it can do with a upgrade in decor

I ordered a “large” seafood boil the serves 1-2 people, what a joke , i practically got potatoes and cord with a side of seafood and payed £40 for it , when i complained and said there is literally no crab meat in the crab i got told “well its just the crab you got” paying £40 for butter, spices ,potatoes , corn and a side of seafood is ridiculous. Save your coin and go lidl get your own seafood and make it at home and ypu wont leave hungry like we did at family crab , what a scam, dont believe the media 😂

Applies by the staff and poor service, disgusted I fact, when I approached to see how long the food would be they laughed round the corner and questioned why we couldn’t eat all of the starter, what sort of service is that?!

Had the most amazing meal, the food was better than I could ever imagine! The staff was lovely and done the most amazing cocktail! We will definitely be returning!! Highly recommend! Thank you family crab 🙏🏻

Had seafood lunch with my friend and we love it. The food likes homemade 😋the prawns and green mussels were cooked to perfection. The prices are cheap compared to other seafood restaurants I tried. Definitely worth it. I forgot to take pictures of the food 🤦‍♀️

We went to this seafood restaurant as a 3-people group and really enjoyed our experience! Staff was polite, and the food only took about 15/20 minutes to come which is quite considerable. The good was HOTT in temperature which i love and the taste was also there. Definitely will be going back🤌🏼

Been here a few times the food is always amazing and great value for money. We get the bottomless menu £39.99(pick 12 items off the menu;starters or pasta, and make a seafood boil with your choice) and are full and satisfied after the first round! Food made to order always piping hot and fresh seafood. Really cosy restaurant and family friendly. Staff are always happy to help , friendly and really accommodating! A few parking spaces outside the restaurant or the shops next door. Would highly recommend! :)

The food was too salty, but at the same time not that flavourful. The pasta dish was not nice at all. I feel that it was overpriced for what it was

It's one of those hidden gems that let's the food do the talking. Portion sizes are very generous and the food was delicious. The menu is somewhat limited but then again they specialise in what's on offer so you're guaranteed quality. Shout out to Stephanie who was very polite and diligent with her service

Visited London from NY last year and was lucky enough to catch the all you can eat option. My family and I enjoyed it so much that it was on the top of our to do list again for my next visit. Today ( October 20) we visited again; the food was still as delicious as we recalled. The only few complaints we had was that - we visited on a Sunday & there was no all you can eat option so we ordered a la carte. We ordered 3 portions of the seafood pasta — the restaurant only had enough to sell us one portion. Our server- did not get her name but she was black, tall, slim, very polite and made a lovely passion fruit mojito. She was so lovely that we insisted on tipping her ..looking forward to my next trip to UK to visit Family Crab with my family

The staff were very polite , I went on a Tuesday so I had the all you can eat seafood boil and it was amazing definitely coming back for more .

If you like crab, lobster, shrimp then this is the place to come and even if you don't there are a few other things that are nice.

The smell of mould when you enter makes you feel sick. Waiting time was to long. I received my food after 30 minutes and my husband's food never arrived. I asked for the bill and told them where is my husband food ,had to check again for another 15 minutes and we gave up. Waiting time for the bill over 10 minutes. I wouldn't come back again.

The service was amazing the staff are a credit to the restaurant. Always polite down to earth and very welcoming which sets a good vibe. The food was amazing and very value for money. Compared to other seafood boils out there this is very very good value. The Cajun spice is very very hot just a warning for you people out there lol. The venue is old school nothing fancy but that’s not an issue it’s very warmly. The only criticism I would have is the chairs. When we sat down initially we felt we were sinking into the chair lol. Not a major fault but we could see a few people felt the same. But hey if that is my only criticism then this place is still a winner. A very very good find. Definitely will be visiting again for my seafood boil fix. Highly recommend visiting here for your seafood boil fix

Orders are always late, threaten to come to customers house for payment when payment have gone through and I have explained multiple times will ring just eat to find out what happened, refused to let me do so, had to call the police

The Family Crab has been our go-to for more than 2 years. 😍 We love the eat-all-you-can seafood on Tuesdays - Thursdays, but what we love even more is that you’re not spending hundreds for a quality seafood boil. The seafood boils are absolutely stunning; the flavours are to die for; the portions are very generous; and there are so many extras to choose from! 🦐🐙🦞🦑 Oh, and the cocktails are just so fresh and refreshing - perfect to pair with the seafood! 🍹 The Family Crab is all about consistency and that’s what keeps bringing us back. 😋 We will see you soon. 😍

The seafood bag was cold and the I ordered a xl big but it was not .the sausages was small only 4 pieces costings to much money for cold food I will not Go back again unless someone pay for me not working hard to get cold food and some seafood not good enough

This was my first time at the seafood boil restaurant with my family. The place is clean and tidy. Welcoming and helpful staff. Food arrived on time. Price was reasonable. However I would of like to choice to tip instead of putting the service charge which I would of as the service was on point. It isn't a fully halal place. All the fried stuff isn't halal so please ask or research before hand

I’ve been ordering from the beginning when they were called Vas Seafood Broil. Food is really good! They couldn’t get rid of me if they tried. Old bay sauce is the best! Must try! Give it a go!! Update: I ate in the restaurant for the first time (I usually get takeaway). The food as always was amazing. Plus it was nice seeing all the faces behind the food. All the ladies were friendly and welcoming. They really make me feel like a valued customer and I’m forever grateful.

On entrance we were greeted by a lovely female serving staff. At 6.30pm it was quite for a Friday night and not many people there. My teenage son refused to help me eat the seafood broil bag so we opted for a club seafood pasta dish and macaroni cheese and halloumi sticks. The staff checked if I was OK with spice rating of 8/10 for the cajun pasta and agreed it was spicy but thoroughly enjoyable. The place is decorated pleasantly o the inside with black and red accents. I'll return for the steamed broil bag with snow crab, prawns, potatoes and sweetcorn. It's a definite case of don't judge a book by its cover....step inside

Really nice, sauce is back to the original recipe which is fantastic. If you like spicy food, order old bay sauce, it won’t disappoint.

Very attentive server. Very advisory & knowledgeable. The Cajun option is very hot & thankfully a free cooling cream was provided. Recommend Alfredo sauce. Portion size on the small side. Would return.

The decor was not as I’d expect it. It look too shabby. The seating wasn’t that good either look wise but comfortable. This restaurant should really be a four star but the look of it made me give it three stars. The food was good I enjoyed the fried prawns. The Ceaser salad and the rice bowl was another set back. Take them off your menu. The sea food bag ok. I also liked the crab meat and lobsters.

10/10 I travelled all the way from Amersham as me and my other half really wanted to try a sea food boil we got a take out amazing food would definitely come and eat in we got served by this amazing waiter so friendly he even gave us a hand to the car with our food the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere 100% would definitely come again.

What a lovely experience! First time visiting and we really weren’t sure what to expect. The staff were extremely friendly and cheerful. The food was full of flavour and plentiful. We will definitely be back! Only improvement that could be made would to have a better selection of beers.

I am saddened to write this review as the food has always been nice, but last night I ordered and after 2 and a half hours of waiting nothing arrived. I spoke to someone at the restaurant and asked to speak a manager, she put the phone on the side and left me there for 5 minutes until I had to hang up. They refused to refund me too, terrible service and it's a shame that this has happened, as previously I had really enjoyed the food.

Customer service is 💯% on point!. The food was absolutely made to perfection. Been here twice now and honestly I have never been disappointed. I've never booked, just always walked in and got seen almost immediately. Thank you to the lovely lady who served us. She was lovely and very polite. Will be coming back!

I'm not a massive seafood fan, in fact I've only ever had prawns. However, I thought I'd take a risk and go to this place and order more than just the usual and it was the right decision. The food here is fab. The waitresses are absolutely fantastic as well. They know exactly what they're talking about, even down to how spicy certain things are and what goes best with what I end up tasting crab for the first time and it was beautiful. I end up tasted in the lobster for the first time off. Somebody else's plate and it was fantastic. The potato and sweet corn tried Cajun seasoning Which was fantastic if you like. Spice. Nothing I could find to fault the place And I will definitely be going there again with the family. Such a great atmosphere. They make you feel so warm when you walk through the door. One of North London's hidden gems. As mentioned above, staff members are super friendly and really know what they talk about when it comes to the food

Evie and her staff really are focused on the customer experience. The seafood is the best Ive ever had and Im a seafood queen! The deep fried prawns from the starter menu are a must order but rest assured anything you try will be delicious and seasoned to perfection. Disappointed is an understatement, I loved this place and ordered often until I tried to order and was told they had stopped delivering to where I live, although the journey is 7-10 minutes away. Also still advertised on delivery site although they do not deliver. False Advertisement!!! Also dear family crab- I’m reviewing so people don’t have the disappointment of trying to order and not being able to even though it is appearing on their delivery app as available. Sort that out if you don’t want bad reviews ♥️

Went to The crab family yesterday after seeing reviews on Tiktok. The restaurant is fairly basic but they had good music playing in the background. The food and the service was exceptional very tasty and well prepared. This is going to a favourite when in Enfield Loved it can't wait to go back. The owner is an amazing 20 year old woman. Delicious food thank you ♥️

Visited the restaurant with a friend for the first time. First impression of the premises was not as expected. However, the food made up for it. The service was good. I have to give a HUGE thumbs👍up to the young 20 year old who's establishment this is....WELL DONE on your achievement. I hope you go from strength to strength.

Don't get me wrong everything was lovely apart from the snow crab legs on both occasions had no meat in. I did mention this to staff but they didn't seem to care lol...
