Really tasty food and drinks. Very Mexican flavours with friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoyed our meal today and will be going back in the near future.

I thought this restaurant was good but my mind was changed when i’ve seen the way they treat their employees first hand and quite frankly it’s shocking. these are teenagers being treated like animals, i am in shock at how nasty management are!

A hidden gem. Why isn't everyone talking about this place?! We stopped in on a quiet, wet weekday evening and had the best tacos and cocktails ever! The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing and the staff were friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Immediately re-booked for my birthday. Smashing!

The ambiance of this restaurant was very peaceful, we were surprised to be the only people having lunch there. It was a beautiful day in October and the outside terrace looked very inviting, but it was so sunny it was too warm for me. Also, the food was presented beautifully and was delicious, we took our left overs home to have for tea!

First time to this restaurant and really enjoyed it. Had aubergine tacos and guacamole quesadilla. Lovely flavours and good portion size. Darryl served us and was the perfect host, very friendly and helpful and made the most wonderful cocktails. The passion fruit martini was excellent. Look forward to going back again

Popped in for a cocktail didn't have food so can't comment but the white choclate espresso's were okay bit pricey and didn't really taste of white choclate service was okay would try again though as the restaurant was nice

Food was good overall particular highlight for me being the nachos. Service was also up to scratch. Good value for money for the amount of food we had. Very enjoyable night

The venue is really nice. Staff were a bit hit or miss. Walking in I was encouraged by the bottles of Cholula on the table. However if you’ve eaten tacos in Mexico or throughout the southwestern USA you may find that the whole the menu looks interesting the fusion falls slightly short ending with a mediocre meal - but at least it doesn’t break the budget. I ended up using at least a third of a bottle of said Cholula on my meal to give add some extra interest and heat to it. Ultimate verdict - probably wouldn’t return. There was no wow factor to the food drinks or service. As a result it wasn’t overly expensive for what we had but it wasn’t cheap either.

We came here a table of 7 for my wife’s birthday. Prior to booking we looked at the menu and online photos and liked the look of it. We were not disappointed; the venu looks like a cafe when you first enter but after a walk to the courtyard you are transported. We felt like we were abroad, beautiful setting! None of us knew exactly what we wanted so we were invited to allow for the restaurant to choose for us- this was great. We gave a price of £25 per person. We had a TABLE full of the most delicious food. The choice was plentiful and we all enjoyed every mouthful. It was so refreshing to have a meal this way and I wish other venues would feel as confident in their menu to do this. We felt like VIP’s. The steaks were cooked perfectly and each dish tasted incredible. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We are so glad we chose The Elephant Crossing to celebrate. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful night.

We were a table of 4 who had a lovely meal and drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was quick and the food good quality. Would certainly return when visiting Ironbridge in the future.

Visited this evening and staff were friendly and nice atmosphere but unfortunately the chicken was very dry & brown in places and chips aren’t freshly cooked which was very disappointing to be honest. But noticed staff never asked once if our food was ok ? Which I find unusual. And for this reason unfortunately will not recommend to family & friends who live in ironbridge.

The location and atmosphere here were really good. The meat/fish options looked really nice. I am a vegetarian and wasn't very impressed with the lack of variety of the vegetarian options, which involved two different dishes which were repurposed throughout the menu. This made it feel like you were eating the same thing multiple times, just in a slightly different format. This could be easily remedied by maybe having a couple of other simple vegetarian salad options or maybe Spanish omelette or something similar? The staff were very friendly and had great service otherwise.

Service was great, food was good except churros which were a bit oily. Great 80s playlist.

Unfortunately I can't rate the food because we never got served, not even acknowledged. In the 15-20 minutes we were there the server managed to take the order from 1 table while 6 other tables arrived. So we just left.

Extremely slow service. It took over 30 minutes just to get two bottles of water to our table. It was obvious that some of the staff had received little or no training. Food was OK when it finally arrived, but nothing special. Other customers were openly complaining whilst we were there.

Wow, wow, wow and WOW I think we ordered too much but wow everything packed with flavour. Small place so do booked in advance and you won’t be disappointed. We could finish it all (eyes bigger then our belly) We will return in the summer for food outside on the terrace.

We are a family of 4 adults and 2 children who had a booking at 5pm tonight. We were the only ones in there as it was early but the atmosphere was still lovely and I think that was obviously down to the company, surroundings and the young lady that was front house/waiting on. We were really well looked after by the lady waitress/bartender who was so friendly, helpful, accommodating, conversational and brilliant with the kids. She was absolutely amazing and the service was incredible. The cocktails were also delicious. That leads me to the chef and the food. Honestly amazing. Lots of flavour, felt truly Mexican. We have eaten in lots of 'mexican restaurants' over the years but most have completely missed the mark but your chef had it spot on. The steak sharing platter was just so tasty, superbly cooked and genuinely delicious . We have eaten some great steaks around the world and this was up there at the top. The nachos oh my god incredible. The portions are brilliant and we didn't realise and ordered enough to feed an army! So reasonably priced for what you get. Thank you for a wonderful evening and for making a family meal out so relaxing

The most amazing Sunday dinner, Mexican style. Service was excellent, great conversations with our server about menu, local area etc. And the churros were nicer than those I had in Amsterdam’s red light district 🤣 Can’t wait to go again.

Lovely warm, friendly welcome by young lady who couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious would highly recommend.

My wife & I ate there tonight with our two young kids. Having travelled widely, we've eaten at a lot of great restaurants - this was one of the most exceptional meals we've had thanks not just to the incredible food but also the service from start to end. We booked a table online about an hour beforehand, were met at the door and led downstairs. Arriving at restaurants is often a bit of a palaver as my wife can't have nuts and our son can't have dairy or soya - and there have been many places we've had to leave as there's been nothing suitable. The kids menu had nothing suitable for our son (2 of the four options contained soya, the other two dairy) but the waitress (I'm sorry to not be able to praise her by name here!) was knowledgeable and immediately offered to amend anything to accommodate him if any of the suitable dishes didn't catch his fancy. There was also an allergens pack to hand so we could confirm for the whole family if needed (but her advice had been spot on). We had 5 different tacos (with the two containing queso blanco separated out to accommodate our son), a chorizo quesadilla, corn and fries and a fish finger taco for my daughter. With a glass of wine, a beer (Brooklyn!) and a couple of apple juices the bill came to £54. The food arrived quickly and was hot, fresh and really well balanced. It was a good amount of food, but I was very tempted to order more dishes having seen what the adjacent table was eating - and the waitress came to check if I wanted to. The waitress was very knowledgeable about what each was and how hot it would be (for the kids to try). After finishing our food and paying the bill, we spent some time finishing our card game with the kids - having previously been ushered on from places as soon as we've paid up, we appreciated not being hurried in any way. All-in-all, a very memorable experience. Thank you Elephant Crossing team!

We visited here on a Friday night after being turned away by another resutrant who messed up our booking, whe we arrived we asked if there were any available tables and the waitress sorted us out with one straight away (it was up in the bar area on some high stools but we weren't complaining as we were just happy she could get us a table at all at such short notice!) We asked about the menu and the waitress was really helpful in explaining what all the dishes were and how best to order, we ordered a lot of food and got a LOT of food, between four of us we were absolutely stuffed and it tasted amazing! In some ways we are pleased that our original booking fell through as it meant we got to experience this excellent restaurant, they definitely saved our evening!

A great evening out here. Food was amazing. Sharing nachos with a taco each and so fried was more than enough. Service was spot on as was the atmosphere. I’d certainly go back for more!

Took the Mrs for a date here, absolutely brilliant will be coming again. Food is excellent although the beef on the chilli fries was on the plain side everything else was smahing. Absolutely superb customer service we had Eve as our waitress that night and she did a fantastic job I must say. Keep up the good work!!

Absolutely appaling! We visited here over the weekend and it looked fantastic however, It certainly did not live up to our expectations. We entered the restaurant and headed down the stairs, a bizarre start as there was no one upstairs to greet the guests. When we arrived at the bar there was one, young, female server who was clearly under pressure. We asked for a menu and headed outside. We were given a lunch menu which was extremely limited, having looked at other tables and what they were dining on they were clearly eating off another menu. I went back to the bar to ask if there was another menu and the young lady apologised and provided me with one. We waited 15 minutes to order a drink, gave up and went to the bar to place our order, we were assured she would head to us quickly, this wasn't the case but this was by no means her fault. The restaurant's outdoor area was quickly filling up with 30+diners and the poor server was still by herself. We ordered a bottle of wine but received a gin glass, I requested a wine glass to be told they didn't have any, I could see several empty ones on tables that had not been cleared. I even took myself to the upstairs bar to see if there were any there, my partner and I both offered to help the young server but she politely declined but we felt awful for her. We placed our food order and began an extremely lengthy wait! We watched plenty of meals come out of the kitchen however, this was slowly. The food looked and smelt amazing so we decided to persevere and be patient even though we were getting very hungry. Fortunately another server turned up to help out so we were optimistic at this point! We had several plates arrive to our table that other diners had ordered, when ours came out it was sent to the wrong table, they returned it to the kitchen, it then came back to our table but it was incorrect so it was sent back, it was then returned and we were told we could 'just have it'. I checked the temperature of the tacos and they were cold, we were fairly upset by this point and decided we would be leaving immediately. We waited an hour and a half for the incorrect order which was cold! I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life, it was embarrassing but we'd had enough. I do not blame the servers at all, they were clearly inexperienced and put in an extremely difficult position. Whoever manages this restaurant should bow their head in shame for putting a young member of staff on a shift by herself on a warm Saturday! Unfortunately the second member of staff was unable to help as all the damage had been done at this point. They were scrambling to fix this and really tried their best but to no avail. An extremely disappointing visit and we will not return. This could have been a lucrative day had there been experienced and more staff on shift.

Visited again tonight (18th August) and whilst the food didn't disappoint the service really did... from being greeted with "sorry we've messed the bookings up and we haven't got a table for us unless you want to wait or sit outside (in the rain)" to being left for an hour after we'd been finished eating without asking if we wanted more food or another drink... then being told sorry the kitchen closed at 9.30 (it was 9.32)... so no desserts (that don't need any cooking)... Next, the outside area is closing in 15 minutes (they put us out there)... and finally, here's your bill, you can pay it inside when you're ready... Unfortunately service is more important than food sometimes so we won't be returning when there are so many great eateries in Ironbridge ----‐------‐---‐-------------------------------------------- Great food... Good, but not overbearing, service... amazing terrace overlooking the Ironbridge.. a perfect setting for a warm summer evening... and although it is a small menu, it's more than adequate... the experience was only let down very slightly by the inconsistent cocktails and side sauces that could have come from a jar... but we know now and are already planning our next visit

Popped in for lunch today on a whim and can’t express how impressed we were! We all had the tacos and a few sides and they were amazing, it was all so fresh and packed with flavour! I’m a vegan and their vegan jackfruit tacos were unreal. My family said the same about the other options too. I can’t express how great the food was, if you can you should go. It was also awesome sitting out on the terrace, had a great view and was perfect for our doggo.

Just been here today, I loved the entire experience. The food was great, perfect portions. Service was top notch, kudos to Spencer, who was a kind and well mannered waiter. I live quite far away, but I will say that if I ever drive near the area again, this will be the first restaurant to go to. I seriously recommend this place, and those of you that go, I hope you enjoy.

Brilliant lunch here. Nice cocktails, couple of ok beers and excellent food. Caters for vegan and gluten free as well, really impressive. Will be back.

Went for my husbands birthday meal. What a fantastic experience, Sunday dinner with a Mexican twist was amazing and the staff absolutely fabulous. Definitely our new favourite!

WOW 😲 i don't quite know where to start a this is to this restaurant thinking it was an indian restaurant only to find out by a lovely welcoming young lady (Eve). I decided to stay and try the food, and I'm Very Glad that i did, the food was absolutely fantastic👌 and plenty of it so much so i even took some away. And what made it more pleasant was the fantastic service probably the best I've ever had in any restaurant, and I've traveled far and wide. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you Eve. I thourghly enjoyed my visit. If anyone is looking for a hidden gem then, look no further. 11 out of 10 💙

Arriba! The best Sunday lunch round these here parts! Sunday lunch at The Elephant Crossing was fantastic - went with my wife and son and we had a Sunday lunch platter each - one pulled pork, one pulled beef and one chicken. These platters are stacked - alongside the succulent meat, there was delicious paprika potatoes, jazzed up cauliflower cheese, yorkshire pudding tacos which you fill with your meat of choice and dip in the gravy or any one of the fantastic condiments the platters come with - guacomole, salsa, sour cream, pico de gallo, pickled veg - there is also sausage meat stuffing and a moreish pimped up creamed corn plus a side of greens and a salad! The bill was pleasant surprise too! Service was great, the view out the back is lovely. Just a nice space with great food - well done!

Yesterday was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised the food was very tasty and cooked beautifully . The service was very quick and attentive ,we will definitely be back .

Brilliant little place with a secret terrace out the back over looking the river, perfect for eating and drinking on a lovely summer's day. We had a number of tapas and the 'sunday roast' - a brilliant play on the traditional Sunday lunch but with Mexican themed food. The chateau briand was to die for, and all the dishes we had were just perfect. A real gem in a lovely location, a must visit if you are in the area

Food was great! We had the £45 rib eye was delicious. All food was amazing and drinks tasted great.

Food was great and service was excellent too. Very friendly and welcoming. We were a bit disappointed that they didn't have the large 32oz beef sharer in stock as it was one of the main reasons for going there but we understand that these things happen on quieter nights of the week.

Ok..the sun was out...but the food, wine and beer on the terrace was fantastic too...great view and great service.

The venue itself is lovely, as are the waitresses. Sadly, we ordered a vegan meal and it arrived with cheese all over it. It was clearly marked vegan on the menu, so absolutely no idea why the chef decided to add cheese. They really need to take veganism and therefore allergies more seriously.

Great little Mexican style restaurant tucked away in Ironbridge. Very small so not one for a cosy romantic meal but certainly worth a visit.

I pre-booked an early table (6pm) for 4 on a Saturday night and was really disappointed we’d been seated in the bar and not the restaurant area. The bar is much brighter, almost like being in a canteen. When I asked why we couldn’t sit in the restaurant, I was told it was fully booked and there was no first come/first served on where we sat. As far as I’m aware, usually, the later bookings go in the bar - I’d booked a week before. Drinks-wise, my cocktail wasn’t great. I chose a margarita, which had far too much lime and not enough tequila, an under-salted rim and had triple sec spilt down the side, which meant I had really sticky hands. My second drink, a Prosecco, was served in a white wine glass. Our waitress was lovely, but didn’t have much knowledge on the food and we felt really rushed throughout the meal to order. Finally, we had to neck our drinks as our time was up. All in all, if you’re going to charge premium prices, you need to get it right. We’ll not be returning or recommending…

I booked a table here and mentioned it was my boyfriend’s birthday in the reservation. We arrived to a decorated table, a sombrero each to wear and the chef specially made a birthday dessert for us that wasn’t on the menu! So fun and thoughtful. All the food was fantastic- we had tacos and yukka fries for our mains and some lovely cocktails and beers. Service was great, friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back, thanks for having us and making us feel so welcomed!

Fantastic lunch, food was incredible - we had 3 of the tacos each and some yuca fries. Lovely service and a great setting. Made my birthday really special and I'm very grateful - without a doubt will be coming back and telling all the family / friends about it!

What a fantastic and wonderful place to sit and eat. The meal was a 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We ordered a 34oz Mexican ribeye steak as a sharing platter. It really was out of this world and absolutely delicious. The flavours with the sides were absolutely spot on. And the Margaritas were delicious too. Eve the owner was both welcoming and accommodating. The chef too was spot on with his knowledge. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.

If you’re looking for something a little different for what Ironbridge has to offer then I can highly recommend The Elephant Crossing. Warm and friendly atmosphere and the food and cocktails are on point. Seriously, I can’t say enough about how good the 34oz steak was, in my eyes, well worth the £45 price tag. Best steak I’ve ever eaten. The owner Eve knows how to run a restaurant. 10/10

Excellent! we had lunch here and sate outside on the patio, its a really nice place to sit. The service was good, the food excellent with generous portions. definitely a place we will return to!

There are some organisational improvements needed, expected with any new business, but the food or friendliness cannot be faulted. We visited here on two separate days over the August bank holiday weekend. Best view of any licensed premises we found! On Sunday we had the sharing 32oz steak 😦 How could anyone complain about value for money? This was amazing! So many add ons with this meal, and pretty much half the price of anywhere south of Birmingham. Recommend to anyone!

Looks like a kebab house or something on the outside but lovely large seating area out the back overlooking the scenery. Staff are nice and friendly . Loses a star because of the poor choice of draught beers , Need to get some Coors Stella or Madri on board.Bottled stuff was reasonably priced tbh but again not a great selection. Can't comment on the food as we did not eat here was wished we had. Worth a visit.

Amazing meal, great tortilla chips would definitely recommend

Overall not bad but need to tighten up on service as was sporadic (3 different staff all doing different things), slow (no real personal attention) and food was not very hot and rather small portions. That said we are keen to support local businesses so hope as a new business they listen to the feedback, adjust accordingly and make every success of their venture. A reward scheme for regulars would be nice!

We arrived on a Friday evening and we were greeted by being ignored for the first five minutes then told to pick a table which we did and then sat there for a further fifteen minutes waiting for at least a drinks menu . My wife eventually had enough and asked a passing waitress if we could order drinks and food at the same time which she said ok and asked what we would like which we told her that we hadn’t yet received a menu to look at . Forty five mins later and one drink down are food arrived or should I say are main meal did we told the waiter that we hadn’t had are starters yet which he went to check then came back to tell us that there had been a mistake with the order and could we possibly have it all at the same time which by then we just said yes as we’d been waiting long enough . The food itself was bland we had chorizo for one dish which was lukewarm at best some chilli fries which were basically cold fries with a lump of lukewarm pulled pork on stuffed on top and some chicken zingy tacos which were tasteless and a bowl of chilli which was basically some salad leaves and stone cold assembly on a plate and finally some cold refried beans , I am in no way a expert but you would expect Mexican food to be spicy at best ares was lukewarm and bland at best The staff themselves were very young and you could tell at times at a bit lost looking for leadership as twice we saw them huddled around the corner hiding from customers trying to sort out complaints .

Great location, staff, decor and good cocktails. Unfortunately the portion sizes vs price across the menu are way off the mark. The food was good but charging £9 for two tiny tacos, £17 for a bowl of nacho's that aren't even home made doesn’t fit the bill for me. You absolutely can’t claim to be an authentic Mexican restaurant until you serve home made nachos!!

Extortionate prices for what you get. Really disappointed overall with average service and cocktails that were all frills no flavour. It’s a shame as I was expecting a lot from this place, but absolutely not worth the price it charges for what you can get, nicer, from a Mexican fast food restaurant.

Started off lovely, pleasant staff and our drinks order taken quickly. The cocktails had a lovely bit of theatre, but…. A lack of flavour was predominant. When we ordered our food we had to repeat the order 3 times because our server got each item wrong with ever repetition. We also ordered water for the table and received a single glass of water. The food took a while and when it arrived there was no variation between the nachos, open tacos or even the fried guacamole. We were starting to feel a bit dissatisfied by this point, but tried to perk up with dessert and 2 daiquiris. The churros were premade, ordered in churros that came out under done. And they were the best part of the meal. The daiquiris came next with next to no alcohol, no flavour, and big chunks of ice. We couldn’t finish them. I would love to say the service was good, but a lack of friendliness was the name of the game by the time our food came out. The young supervisor(?) barely looked at us when clearing or taking our order. Altogether it would have been okay but the price of everything was extortionate. £17 for a bowl of nachos and £9 for 2 small soft tacos. We are not in Camden Market! I would not recommend this place until they improve the service and the prices

An impromptu night out led us here and we are so glad we visited. The food was fabulous, the service friendly and prompt and it was great value. Just what Ironbridge needs. I'd recommend sitting on the terrace for cocktails first.

Food was really nice as was the service, but found it a bit overpriced for what you got served up!! Shame really as the portion sizes for the prize is the only thing that would make me not want to return.

A really great experience - you would never guess they had only been open a few days. We ordered a selection of Mexican Tapas dishes (Chilli and lime hake, cider braised chorizo, breads with oil and dips, taquitos and king prawns.). All were delicious. The best churros with chocolate dip I have had since Malaga Old Town rounded off the meal perfectly. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself has been beautifully refurbished in a fresh, contemporary style, and had a busy, vibrant and relaxed atmosphere! Highly recommended!
