The Egg Bros in Southend-on-Sea

After finding EggBros on Instagram and taking our daughter there for her birthday, we got in touch to enquire about a private hire for our baby shower as the space is beautiful, and the food even better! 🤩 the day of the shower was relaxed with such good vibes/atmosphere and all 40 of our friends and family were so impressed with everything. The team (Tom, Jade, Gracie etc.) were incredible and couldn’t do enough for us! The chefs and food were insane - honestly, the pancakes are 👌🏻😋 and everyone was raving about having to come back to try other dishes. The chefs even came out and gave the kids a little treat of a lollipop each! 🥰 The coffees (especially the mocha) were on point, as well as the smoothies! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. If you haven’t been, GO! If you’ve been thinking about going, GO! You won’t be disappointed 😊 thank you EggBros for making our baby shower so special and chilled - it was exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it! X

The food at this place is always amazing and has a lot of flavour. Staff are welcoming and friendly, has a great atmosphere. We will we back.

We went to the egg bros for lunch today after being highly recommended by some close friends. The food certainly didn’t disappoint and the staff were so welcoming! Highly recommend and we will be returning in the near future!

We had a rare, dog free morning, so I suggested we visit somewhere we hadn't been before. We tried Egg Bros and was really pleased we did, and will return in the future. We asked and they actually are dog friendly which is great to know! I had one of my favourite breakfasts- dippy eggs and soldiers, which were cooked to perfection! My husband had a veggie breakfast; halloumi, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado, toast, hash browns. There was a slight issue with the hash browns and the staff were very apologetic, addressed the issue promptly and gave us money off the bill too. We arrived just after 9am on a Saturday, and we were the only one there. Service was swift, restaurant was clean (as was the unisex toilet). We will return soon with the pups as there is so much choice on the menu!

First time going to egg bros, was meeting some friends there to finish off organising a hen do. They had little ones with them & had booked upstairs for the Essex soft play company, we thought perfect for the kids to run about whilst we quickly sorted out what we needed to whilst grabbing some lunch. When I got there I was told I had to pay to to sit upstairs £3.95 even though I was ordering lunch & my kids were at school so I had to just pay to walk up a flight of stairs & for the extra chair, I couldn’t just leave as that’s where we was meeting and my friends kids was already playing, they just said it was company rules! Service was okay, Food was mediocre we all ordered the chicken shawarma wrap could’ve done with less grease at £14.00 plus my smoothie at £4.95 & my £3.95 entrance fee that was enough for the day, talk about price inflation! Will I go back again NO.

Booked for my boyfriends birthday brunch. Took the children and ordered three breakfast burritos and dippy eggs. Dippy eggs were fine my daughter enjoyed them. The breakfast burritos weren’t good at all. The menu said meat patty, cheese, scrambled egg, salsa, lime and avocado. It was a sloppy mince mixture with American style runny cheese smashed avocado - no salsa, no lime and no egg! Very unappetising as all mixed together, no flavour. This could be made so much nicer with a bit of effort. Shame as other stuff people ordered looked ok. Gutted as the whole thing with coffees cost us £77. The drinks counter was full of empty glasses/ plates/ milk cartons and the staff were quite young and inexperienced. Upon telling them how we felt after being asked how we found our meal, they just said oh we’ll let them know! Won’t be back.

We popped in a few months ago for coffees and drinks for the kids. my 'flat white' came and was hotter than the sun, plus it was not a flat white but a coffee with milk. My parters latte was ok, but basically just a coffee with milk that was in a bigger cup than mine. On Saturday we went back to actually have some brunch this time. I checked the menu and they dodnt sell a flat white.. but i asked the waitress if they did one, "yes of course". Great! It arrived and yest again it was just a coffee with milk and a slight froth on it. It was weak to. So i kindly asked the waitress to make me another one.. if they cant do a flat white, how about a cappuccino? this came and it was basically the same drink just with some choco powder on it. oh dear. Again, my wifes oat milk latte was just a coffee with some oat milk in it in a tall glass. When i explained to the waitress that the coffee was not great, another customer also spoke up that his flat white was just a coffee and he wasnt happy. The waitress was a bit snappy when i said i was not going to pay for the coffee and didnt portray any sense of customer service or care that a customer wasn't totally happy. they had a chance to resolve it but didnt bother and we just wandered out after paying! The staff were young and no one seemed to be in charge, so although they were dong their job, there was certainly no effort in the drinks. they also added a service charge which i declined to pay. On the plus side, the egg and sausage patte bap things we had were awesome! So, if you like eggs, drink tea or just water then make a visit, but of you want a coffee to accompany it, go elsewhere.

Popped in for lunch, had a fab shakshuka. Flavoursome, had a good kick to it with the fresh chilli. And the avocado and rocket on the side was a nice contrast. Served with GF toast. Venue itself: Kitchen is in the restaurant so you see how fresh everything its made, modern decor, plenty of space and comfy velvet seats.

Found this place through Google, so decided to take my son for lunch, this was a Saturday around 1:30pm. We travelled from the other side of Southend to give this place a try. Decor is really cute and seats comfy. We sat down right away and ordered milkshakes with in a few minutes. Food came pretty quick, all cooked fresh and was delicious. . My son had pancakes and I had the Philly bro. Pancakes didn’t last long and he enjoyed the food so much I then had to fight him to keep hold of mine. Philly bro was a big portion I couldn’t finish it and now feel so stuffed I think I need a day nap. The staff were all really lovely, the kitchen staff joked with my son which was sweet and everyone seemed like they couldn’t do enough to make sure we enjoyed our visit. I’ve been informed by my son “we need to visit here more often” so will definitely be back. Prices are pretty standard for Leigh, very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

We popped in for some brunch. The Sunday app made it easy to view the menu and pay at the end of the meal. Will be coming more often to try more of their fantastic menu!

What a fantastic restaurant! The food was exceptional and so tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the concept and the tasty food!

Really wanted to love it but? Went in for second visit as hoping it had improved as it was a new business but the restaurant was less than half full we waited 10 mins for our order to be taken then a further 20min for it to arrive. The eggs were not cooked so well I think it was a stand in chef a different very young guy was there on his own. The menu stated with rye bread but it came with toast cooked on one side only so soggy and not nice the waitress then said when I asked they had run out very poor not to tell you on ordering. I asked is there milkshakes she said the menu was in the window whats the point in that. Wonder how many pounds in revenue were lost from people not knowing they even sold milkshake its not rocket science put it on the menu? There is a service charge added to your bill so you would expect a good service from your waitress. I certainly wouldn't of tipped her and i usually always do.

I was looking forward to eating here as I fully support local businesses. However, the service is appalling. I went with a friend on Saturday lunchtime at 12:50. The restaurant was only half full. We waited 20 minutes and the waitress still hadn't been over to take our order. I caught her attention and asked her to please take our order. She said she had two more guests in front of us and would take it soon, despite there being at least 4 other waiting staff. 10 minutes later she came over and took our order. 1hr and 5 minutes later we received our food and my burger was hard and over cooked. I was on a time limit so had to wolf it down. They gave us a free drink but I wont be going back - such a shame, not bad prices and I'm sure the food would have been good had it not been over cooked.

Really disappointed. Service wasn’t great, a Monday morning and very empty when we arrived, so no reason for the service to be poor. Both coffees ordered were awful, questioned the waitress on whether drinks were correct and the machine working? Got a very short snappy reply (a day later I see in their socials the coffee machine was broken and being replaced!!!) Waited ages for drinks and food (even though empty) had to ask the waitress to come back to take food order. Eggs Benedict - yes the eggs were good but bacon was so over done and the muffin was unable to be cut with a knife. Asked for pancakes with no maple syrup - they turned up covered in syrup. Plates clear whilst others still eating. Bill came with service charge already added when overall experience was poor and I would have like to have the option myself of how my service charge given.

Believe the hype because the food is incredible! We had the sausage egg burger and bacon egg burger, the secret sauce is incredible. The hash browns and truffle hash browns were SO good! I can’t wait to come back and try the Mac & cheese.
