Where to start Stop on a circular walk for a drink and bite to eat. The landlady was super nice and friendly, however, the pub looks to be struggling against time However, decided only to have a quick drink as the place was dark and felt tired

Really enjoyed our cream tea on a day out at cotehele. Worth the walk down to the quay from the house

We picked up a NT leaflet and this place was listed in the top 3 places to have a cream tea. Luckily it was near to where we were staying so off we went, we we couldn’t come all the way down to this part of the world and leave without a cream tea. NT members park for free. The tea room is small and cute, as it was raining outside I think we were lucky to get a table. Both of us had a cream tea, the only option of scones was fruit - I would have rather had plain but not a major ordeal! Plenty of local cream and the scone itself was light and warm. Was all lovely

A lovely quiet Sunday lunchtime meal was enjoyed here during November. A butternut squash soup with chunky roll and a Cheese Tea with cheese scone. Lovely food, well presented, very well flavoured and arrived in very reasonable time. This would be a good place to stop if you are visiting Cotehele National Trust Property. Well worth a visit.

After visiting the house and mill we stopped off on a very rainy day here for a hot drink. It was nice to get a pot of tea instead of just a cup or mug of ready made tea.I should imagine on a sunny day it would be a perfect spot to sit outside for a cream tea.

Although it was lunchtime I could not resist having a cream tea. It was fantastic. The scone was warm and the cream was really thick.

This is a fabulous tea room located at Cotehele Quay which is run by the National Trust. They used to do hot food such as jacket potatoes but have now been 'downgraded' by the NT to a 'tea room' so only do drinks and cakes. Their scones are first rate plus they have a lovely little garden to the side as well as plenty of seating upstairs.

This is a gorgeous little tea room in a beautiful location on the quay. Last year I had the best cream tea ever here, which was a speciality St Clements Cream Tea, it was so lovely I kept coming back with various friends and family members! However, on my most recent visit over the Easter period I was really disappointed that there are only fruit scones available and no plain ones. As neither I or my children care for fruit scones I feel like we have now lost our favourite place to stop for a cream tea, which is such a shame.

Stopped off here by chance being NT members. Sandwiches were delicious (cheddar and red onion chutney) and the kids had a lovely healthy lunch box. Lovely setting in the nice weather next to the quay watching the boats go by. Looked to have a large selection of cakes, hope to go back to try these.

Beautiful setting in Cotehele Quay. The Edgecumbe provided much appreciated respite from the bitter cold and drizzle after a wonderful walk through the woods and along the river. We ordered a range of hot drinks and cakes, all of which definitely did the trick! The coffee and walnut cake was very moreish but the flapjack was particularly good - not over sweet and the perfect texture. The only downside is that there are no customer toilets - you have to leave the building and head to public toilets in the quay.

There has long been an entry for the National Trust teashop on the quay at Cotehele. Until recently it was titled on here as the Edgecumbe Arms which is what it has been called for about twenty years. Some people shorten it to the Edgecumbe. There is a pub at Cremyl on the edge of Mount Edgecumbe country park which is called the Edgecumbe Arms which sometimes gets mixed up with the NT tea shop. Now someone has altered te Tripadvisor entry for the tea shop to simply Cotehele and another person has started an entirely new thread for the same place as the Edgecumbe. I suggest that the real name be given to both tea shop threads and they be consolidated. Using Cotehele alone just confuses it with the house and estate. Meanwhile whatever the problems on here the tea shop itself is perfect.

This place to ideal for a quick drink/snack, and the food, service is always great. The one we visited is at the Quay side at Cotehele, there is also another which we have also visited at the main house area, both offer great food and there is something for everyone. There is always a specials blackboard for different snacks, and also your normal menu too. The views all around are stunning, great for a snack, but stay longer and enjoy the area its amazing. Soups/sandwiches/home baking, light meals, cater for veggies/GF etc

Popped in here for a cream tea, deliciously warm scones with jam and clotted cream, a real treat. Very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely, very friendly, would definitely recommend.

Booked a two day getaway for R & R through Booking.com. Stayed Saturday and Sunday nights on B&B basis. (1st & 2nd March) We checked in around 3pm and were taken to the room by friendly staff member. The room was introduced as a "Cabin" style room. At first we thought that it was quite small and very little room to move. Facilities were excellent and very clean and modern. Especially the bathroom. Again small but useable. Bedroom space was very different, tiny area, hanging space was at a premium. 3 shirts and the space was full. The bed was enclosed in a tight corner with only one access side, so exiting was difficult to say the least. I enquired about a bigger room and the extra cost to do so. I was informed that if someone did not show up I would be informed and the room would be offered. That unfortunately did not happen. I explained that my wife had limited mobility and found it difficult to enter and exit tight spaces but it appeared to fall on deaf ears. A follow up to say sorry no rooms were available might have helped us decide not to stay the second night. I think maybe it would have been better to book direct with the Hotel and the possibility of discussing room size etc. I thought for the money we paid Booking.com the room would have been more standard size. I get Genius discount with Booking.com so my assumption was completely wrong. We likened the room more to "Rabbit Hutch" more than "Cabin" For the price we paid I would consider the room expensive and more to be used as single occupancy rather than double. All other aspects of our stay were lovely, the staff, the public area's, food and drinks were all very good. The only other worry I have is parking ticket arriving at a later date. I asked at the time of check in if it was in order to park just up the road in the general Car Park and was told to give my Reg number to reception and that would be ok. On leaving the Car Park I noticed the "Have you paid an displayed" sign. We gave our details to a young lady service at the bar and she said she would enter it at reception on our room number (4). I checked later after returning from a walk and found it had not been and was done then but informed there would be a problem because the Car Park was not monitored. I hope that statement was correct!

Latte was only just warm and very weak, could not taste any coffee at all. Disappointing. I have been before and had the same experience.
