Staff can’t do enough to help you, they’re all so friendly. 5 star service from each and every one of them. Credit where it’s due

No toaster working on Wednesday, today we come in and there’s no clean cups and apparently no staff to wash any! Food is good depending on who is cooking. Some days it’s fab, others very hit and miss but main issue is it’s usually cold! Many times had to wander around looking for Mayo after asking and being told “I put 3 new ones out earlier”!!!!

Went for a breakfast and a pint with my brother , toast was white, bacon was cold, Beans were like mush, egg was hard fried , Sausage and Ash browns were red hot , The bar staff was great had a lovely pint can’t fault the bar but the kitchen needs sorting .

If you want to go out for a few drinks in a safe environment, this is not for you. But if you want to see the worst society has to offer and buy some cheap bacon, coffee or cheese that a local snack rat has pinched from Morrisons, then this is the place to be.

Been in here quite a few times before rugby match my son educated me on using the app to get served quickly Got to say chicken wings the best I’ve tried them in other spoons but they don’t come any better than here It’s probably not the cleanest place to be in but before you complain too much try other pubs in Eccles

Never got our drinks and they wouldn't give us our refund. Terrible service and the waters were very cold and harsh with us. Would not reccomend

Blonde haired woman with lip filler and puffy black mesh sleeves, really rude and gave me the wrong drink x2. Wasn't sorry about the wrong order and a rude person in general. Get rid

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Reading some of the comments I thought the food would be disappointing but it was anything but. I ordered two grilled half chickens with chips and the chicken was amazing. The meat was perfectly done sliding off the bone easily, it was very tasty also. We had cobra and gin for drinks very good also. One small minus is I had to changw my beer glass because i thought it wasn't properly cleaned, but the staff changed it immediately with a nice one. For desert we had chocolate brownie and chocolate fudge with vanilla ice cream, both were delicious. I think the staff here decided to up their game because I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of food. For the money I don't think you can do any better. Really happy with my choice tonight in Eccles Cross.

Ordered a large breakfast. An item was missing from the plate. Unable to get staff members attention. Left plate on couunter. Then explained politely to a staff member who was on her mobile. No response received so I walked out. I will not be ordering food here for a long time.

We had a meal of gammon and eggs but unfortunately I left most of the gammon as it wasn't good at all. The fried egg with it was overcooked. The only good part was the chips. Service was quick even though it was busy. Standards have lowered since my last vist. I did wonder if this was mostly a microwave meal due to the poor quality.

I am using this pub quite a lot in at the moment due to working on the station outside. I had lunch today and the food was perfect, the staff were very friendly and chatty, checked everything was alright twice, and even delivered my a drink before I had paid for it, I'll be back that's for sure.

The wetherspoons in Eccles, must be one of the best in the country for people watching. When Manchester United won the cup winners cup, in 1991, the parade to show off the trophy, started in patricroft and went through Eccles. It was chaos in the streets with people celebrating. It was so good/bad, the police said no more united parades can ever go through Eccles. The Eccles cross can resemble that night, weekend after weekend. Fantastic place.

Absolutely amazing staff I Ended leaving my scarf I only realised when we were on the train back home . I rang to see if it was still there and it was! The kindly sent it back to me 🥰 Went out of there way to do so. I can’t thank you enough We will be back very soon ! Kind regards Jen xxx

Occasionally used this pub over the last 20 odd years And on my most recent visit I noticed the rear entrance had been fenced off. When I asked what appeared to be the Manager? Why the rear access rout had been blocked ? His reply was it just Has. This is a pub you can easily avoid using & I think I will be.

went there on the 30th Aug, the service was very poor, the coffee was not refilled even though they were still selling with meals. the staff were just about chucking the food at people and not very helpful except for one young lady who was more caring than the rest. the place was unkempt and the tables were left messy between patrons. food was bland and not at the level we normally get. will not be returning.

Gone into this place 2 times on different occasions and both times waited 25 mins to get any attention and walked out, After i was told to take a seat and i would be attended to, Such Brilliant service I ended up going to cafe couple of doors down

I came here yesterday with two friends and ordered a significant amount of food. As always the price is very reasonable and the food was lovely, however our garlic flatbread was quite badly burned on the bottom and rock hard. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for our drinks after ordering via the app, and around 25 minutes for food. The location is quite difficult to get to as only buses are allowed down that road, however it is directly next to a tram stop and a bus interchange which is highly convenient. Overall wonderful experience, would recommend and would definitely choose to eat here again.

Its the worst pub me and my misses have ever been to the staff are horrible attitude stinks over an hour waiting for drinks and when they do tend to you attitude all day ruined my girls birthday the worst shes ever had thanx to them it should be closed down and the staff need training manners go a long way and they have none so avoid avoid avoid dont waste ur money

Popped here for a 'you know what youre getting' meal when staying in Eccles, and got exactly that. Ordered via the app, food arrived very quickly, just after the drinks. Deserts ordered via app, with another pint each, and same again. Perfect. Cosy private booths to sit in, a nice 'spoons establishment.

We always head for here when we are staying in the area. One of the cheapest Spoons I have been in. Ate and drank, no complaints from any of us and we will certainly pay a return visit next time we are in Eccles.

Was picking up a friend and decided to call in for food. Served promptly and was very nice. Wednesday night as well they had a quiz on. We didn’t have time to take part in it but was extremely well organised. Will definitely return here

Spent a pleasant evening recently in the Eccles Cross. We placed our food and drinks orders using the mobile phone app and we were served at our table promptly and efficiently by Amber on each occasion. I have to say I was awestruck by her enthusiasm. A more hardworking and energetic member of staff, who's constantly on the go, tidying and clearing the other tables, yet has time for her customers and who clearly is super-organised, you would find difficult to find. Amber deserves a medal. Please treat her well.

The food was of a standard we would have expected from the change.The place was dirty from restraunt to toilets very poor staffing however when we asked a young man to clean our table he was happy to do so and did it well. The bar staff we meet did their job but no banter or verbal exchange.For all the pub was turning over(not busy) tables were not cleared or cleaned and staff did seem to be available to carry out general chores. If it was my first visit to the chain I would not be back.

I have just visited this wetherspoons with my gf,and from the atart the service was slow ,however due to nature of our jobs we have always endevoured to visit the local wetherspoons wheerever we have been in the country and we have never had cause to complain!the bar que was huge and had one member of staff in despite there being others members of staff at the end of the bar ,or doing ancillary roles totally ignoring the growing number of customers shouting and complaing to get served ,when i finally ordered food and sat down ,a better seat became available so i approached the front of house memeber of staff to inform him, he waived me of with a pseudo regal waive of his hand and told me to talk to someone else ... his attitude made me arrive at the conclusion i didnt want to eat in a rude shambles of a pub and got an immediate refund and walked out disgusted

Ate there three nights running while staying at Salford. The local Eccles Stout was very nice at £1.99. The food was standard Wetherspoons prepared and presented to a very good standard.

Called in for food and a drink. Very reasonably priced. Plenty of space. Didn't have to wait ages for our meals. Cheap and cheerful. Vegan curry recommended. Friendly atmosphere. Great 😊

Some people moan about nothing on these reviews but I will say for the price you pay for a meal including a drink!! The food is great, everyday there is a set menu to choose if you want it's a give away price... and the beer is always good quality supporting local micro brewers at good prices. The only negative is cheap beer means sometimes you do get the occasional heavy drinker!!!.

A Wetherspoon so the food quality speaks for itself, A well run pub with a large selection of ales and spirits. I would definitely go there again.

Overcharged did not. Get what we ordered. Chips were still frozen when servers at the table been to this site at least once or twice a month this year always around £15 this time £19 not. Happy to say the least

Called in for a few drinks to dodge the rain, been before so knew what to expect. We use Wetherspoons a lot on our travels and this one is one of the cheapest. Ended up staying for 4 hours and had a really good afternoon.

A group of 9 of us went for a quick, cheap breakfast and that's exactly what we got. Breakfast was good and so cheap. The decor of this Wetherspoons is great and it was quite busy even at 10.30am!

Called in Friday night for a bite to eat and drinks. Opted for steak and two pizzas, all decent quality and good priced as always is in Spoons. Clean plates all round and pints for less than £2, definitely one of the cheaper Spoons we have visited.

The food and drinks are very good value, and using the Wetherspoons app makes ordering a breeze. Good service, the staff were friendly and welcoming. This is my new favourite local, with the tram stop across the road, makes getting there by public transport easy as well.

I’ve visited this particular Wetherspoons several times now and every time I’ve found the staff to be extremely welcoming and friendly, the food has always been good and who can ever complain about the prices!

Visited numerous Wetherspoons in many areas and his has the worst service I have come across. Bar staff need customer service training. Tim Martin take note.

None of the usual staff on, 2 kids who know nothing instead. Order 2 meals and they obviously don’t know what they sell or how to plate up. Cold chips with a meal that didn’t have them. Upon complaint returned microwaved to a crisp. Lasagne with no salad, complained, salad arrived, no dressing back he went got it. This was supposed to be a stress free meal!

Last Sunday I had a late meal and a couple of drinks. The drinks were fine served in clean glasses. The chicken and bacon panini I had appeared to be some sort of pre mixed filling. Later that evening I threw up and I have no doubt it was that filling. I have eaten there before and it’s been ok, but negative comments about food are generally ignored by the table staff.

I’d like to start this off by saying I’ve been to many Spoons in my time and I know you get what you pay for but this place is something else. Myself and friends visited this Wetherspoons after a night out with the hope of getting a half decent breakfast.

I was about to go to my friend Barabaras 60th birthday party at the Malaga nearby . Another friend,Steve,lives in Eccles so had a quick chat with him here before the party. Possibly predictably, I had the 10 Oz gammon, chips with peas tomato and peas. The fried egg is not my thing and unfortunately there is no pineapple option. See I can do fruit (!) Weathespoons is a bit of a staple with me and you get the drink included , an ale called 'This is Eccles' which was nice. All round good and Steve was happy too.

I’ve never had an issue with the staff in here until now. Try are usually very nice and friendly. But the (manager I assume, or Manager on duty at least) man around his 40s, bald head quite slim was incredible rude to other customers! He was okay to ya but we were so shocked we finished up and left and plan on making a proper complaint too. Aweful and won’t be back

A very busy pub all day every day, and the staff really do put a shift in. To say the staff multitask is an understatement, but always cheerful and friendly. Great atmosphere, great range of beers and good affordable food, what’s not to love ??

Not struck on Xmas menu this year. Not everyone likes prawns or Brie.

Visited on a Thursday which was a Curry Night. Curry and an alcoholic drink for under £7.00. Different choices of curry, Naan bread, Rice and 2 poppadoms. Curry was great. Nice wee place

Every few months I think I'll give this place another chance. Every time i'm disappointed by the continued recruitment of staff who can't distinguish any degree of order. So, what we get is: serve one person then look up and say "who's next?". Go on, guess what happens. It's just so poor. I just can't be bothered with this place. Tedious beyond belief.

Your average Wetherspoon with the typical menu. Staff aren't the happiest or the most smiley but equally aren't rude. Food is typical of Wetherspoon and enjoy they're breakfast offering. Overall not so bad.

I love the weatherspoons app, every time ive used it the food arrives in minuites. The parking around the back could be better but you can park at Morrisons. I wouldn't go there during foot ball season since it can get crowded.

Typical of any Wetherspoons establishment. We wanted a quick meal out, rather than cooking at home. The Eccles Cross was convenient and you know what you are going to get.

Nice looking and cheap restaurant and bar. Decent menu to choose from. Service was efficient enough but staff seemed too busy to stop and chat. Great for those on a budget and handy for the tram did those heading into town or to the football. The food was good by pub standards but not a la carte. Would definitely use it again.

Been quite a regular in the last 7 years. I have to say recently though, the service standards has dropped considerably. This is consistent for table cleanliness, emptying of finished with plates glasses etc, and the bar. In this particular visit, my patience ran thin....

Tuesday night - steak night - no steak due to supply issues though we were not told this and were asked if we wanted the mixed grill which unfortunately was not the best. The food looked like it had been thrown on the plate and the meats tough and not particularly warm.

Hot Food was really cold served on a cold plate. Ordered 4 breakfast together and the came 20 minutes apart. At least the miserable manageress wasn't on today...

It's in Eccles so don't expect miracles but it's friendly and the food on offer is as good as any other in the chain. Pleasant place for a drink and a snack/breakfast and there's a nice smoking area for smokers. Can't really say anything bad about the place as some reviewers seem to have because we enjoyed our visit.

Reasonable prices for food , drinks are a little pricy but so is everywhere else nowadays. Definitely more of a pub scene than a place to sit & eat - although seated areas and a menu are provided.

Very poor I went to the bar for 2 pints on one glass was paint mark I took it back the said to me it is only paint it won't kill you I got another one pint not the beer I drink my partner asked for BBQ beef burger and got chicken never again

Food is all frozen / bought in, nothing is made fresh. It's either deep fat fried or microwaved. Staff make many mistakes, bringing the wrong food, or no food. Number of times, they had forgotten about me and my guests. Breakfast is small, not worth the money. They do sell a good selection of drinks.

what can you say its the same as every other wetherspoons probably brake brothers microwave to order. Give us a break this is not a restaurant.

Found this while looking for somewhere for dinner. Arrived at about 5pm on a Tuesday, and the place was very busy. Mainly guys who seem to have just finished work. Very interesting decor, and is set on a number of levels.Wonderful staff, had a very tasty, reasonably priced steak, and really enjoyed my visit. Can certainly recommend it.

This is a pub which has many regulars. I've visited on numerous occasions and it is just bog standard pub chain fare! I always stick to my favourite of steak and chips! Children are welcome up to approx. 6pm!

It is a Wetherspoons and not a bad one, as far as chioice of beers and the usual menu are concerned. But it was the last Sunday of the season. I can just about put up with all the foreigners, the "fans" who have no connection with M/c, but why do they have to be so much in your face when they have won bugger all??????The worst part of our visit was the disbled toilet, the door of which had to be left open to mitigate the stink in there. It did not seem to have been inspected at 11am nor at midday, perhaps because of all the Red devil ale carts at the bar???? Eventually it was tidied up. I have no doubt that the culprit is well known to the staff.... There is leeway and there is leeway.....

We had a training day 5mins walk away the breakfast was excellent ok did say no tomatoes but served under 5 mins the meals well we had mixed grills steaks and a salad and we can t complain service was fast an food don't think cook better myself..defo next work meal go again..we all work hard for our company but what has annoyed us is 1 person complains about a breakfast at 8am because missed the tomato u need to try this place u pay value for money a McDonald's messes orders like they do but we complain to me everyone in this place works hard to provide a service for people like us that can drink n eat at early hours

Why would anyone serve this? No didn't complain 1. To get a refund of half a tomato? and 2. I would have finished my breakfast by the time it was replaced. This should never have left the kitchen in the first place! But why did the chef plate it up and why didn't the waitress spot it when she served it? Something is going wrong somewhere!

Went on a Tuesday night, meal and a drink menu is decent value! Had a mixed grill which was spot on! £9 something including a pint! Bargain! Beers good and decently priced and with a tram stop right outside the door its nice and easy to get too!

Service was ok was at the bar but the food was terrible. I asked the team leader if I could swap some meats on a mixed grill and he told me that all food is pre made which as a chef myself is unacceptable I still ordered it but when it came it was well over done and cold! I do come here regular with my family and never had a problem like this so hopefully it will be resolved!

I have been going to the Eccles Cross for a long time , The Real Ale is well kept ,lots of choice and great prices , lots of internationlal beers on offer too. Now The Food is to be frank ,terrible , Cold Chips ,No Fish ??Cuts of randon meat dipped in fat , rubber eggs ,bullet peas .Gets worse ever time , Management don't seem to be able to do anything , Overall Great for Drinks ,Bad for Food ,Upsetting

Food still crap so at least this place is consistent. Child's bolognais freezing, bacon on burger almost raw when requested well done, burger looked like it had been rolling around the floor before being served (literally thrown together), wine tasted sour and glass had someone else's lipstick on it! No doubt I will receive the same standard response that all negative reviews receive but no improvements will be made. Save your money, go somewhere else

I went along to the Eccles Cross on one of their Tuesday steak nights, not really expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised. I went for the 14 oz rump steak, which, with a pint, came to around £9:00. I was so impressed I went along the following Tuesday and tried the same again, just to be sure, how far I go in the name of research eh? Once again it was a decent piece of meat, cooked to my liking, and served by personable enough staff.

Based in an old cinema the first in Eccles this is a handy pub opposite the tram stop to Manchester and the bus interchange. Good for meeting up. Prices reasonable and food is cheap . Quite a few locals use it and when Man Utd home quite a few fans use it before the game.

We've been drinking in this pub for a few years now and have to say that since the refurbishment the pub is even better. We love meeting up for drinks in the Eccles cross before going to town and we've also started eating here. Food is always great and comes quickly! We've been coming in more often since the pub has had a change of manager the pub has a great atmosphere & the staff and managers are always really friendly. Big thumbs up from us. Cheap drinks, cheap food and good quality :)

Since Jan left this place has gone down the pan. Food is shocking. Had a steak a few weeks ago which I requested be cooked medium rare and turned up on my plate looking like an old leather shoe. Went again on Monday hoping last time was just one of those things but no, the food was equally as bad. There is a waiter who appears to have anger issues, he was banding chairs around and muttering to himself as he was tidying up then came to my table demanding a specials leaflet without actually asking me if I could kindly pass it to him! I used to love going in this place and taking my granddaughter in for fish and chips but I think I will give it a wide berth from now on until Wetherspoons get it sorted! Don't waste your money

What a joke...got in at 9.15am and sat down with my family. Ordered breakfast at the bar, all seemed well. Went to sit back down and I saw people returning their food....not a great impression but these things happen and didn't think much else until it was our turn to get the food.....the waitress came out with a full breakfast minus the hash browns (the only breakfast for our table to come out) asked for the hash browns and the waitress was quite rude and said you didn't want them when you ordered......turns out that breakfast was for another table who by this time were complaining about the quality of one of their breakfasts and complaining the other hadn't come out.....the hash browns came out without an apology. The waitress was extremely sarcastic and huffed and puffed a lot even shouting at the kitchen staff because apparently they mucked up. Our tables breakfast came after about 15 mins....the waitress put down one plate and I said the other was for me, she tutted because she was on the other side of the table and when my Aunty apologised out of awkwardness the waitress sarcastically said it gets her moving around (or something to that degree)My food was stone cold, eggs were runny which was nice but the hollandaise sauce had split and the salmon portion was pathetic. I couldn't be bothered complaining as I was hungry and had a train to catch. We had children with us and they were a little mischievous but not naughty....the same came over to the table slapped some colouring crayons and paper down and told them to draw with the most awful attitude oh dear, to be honest I just laughed at her, she clearly didn't want to be there to be honest I don't think I'd enjoy that job either. This place wasn't busy but other tables just seemed really disgruntled as their food was also cold. Waitress just didn't care. As I walked out I went to complain but the manager saw me coming and scarpered.....to be honest, I don't think they would have given two hoots anyways. I thought the whole thing was laughable and just thought I won't be going back here again

I like to go in at least once a month as they do a lovely Breakfast and free coffee refills & it’s very reasonable regards to prices. It’s recently had a refit so nice inside & very clean plus the tram station is right outside

I've been to lots of wetherspoons around the country. The food is generally of a similar standard however this one was a little below par. The place was a bit untidy and the table needed to be cleaned. All the menus (and we had 6) were all sticky. Perhaps the manager just need to get a grip on the staff and I'm sure it would be fine. Cheese and tomato toasty lacking cheese and other dished had dressings spilt on plates and ramekins. Not what I expect from a spoons.

We had never visited before. When we turned up we were pleasantly surprised by the outside appearance. It looked really nice and newly refurbished.We went inside and liked the layout and the size of the place. It looked quite well decorated and we knew the drinks would be reasonable as you know what your getting from Wetherspoons.We sat down to have our drink before we were meeting some friends for a meal and started to look around.We noticed the place was filthy. Every table was dirty no glasses had been collected and there were lots of flies about. You don't get so many flies in the middle of winter from not cleaning one night so presumed it had not been cleaned in a while. Even the glasses they gave us were not clean.the staff were friendly and the place is cheap so if you don't mind sitting on dirty seats at dirty tables to drink from dirty glasses you will be fine.we did come back in a few hours later and although it was no better it was also no worse.

Normal pub grub having said that it was very tasty. The service could have been a great deal better and the tables could have been cleared and cleaned ready for the next customers are great deal quicker than they were

came here for a quiet breakfast, i waited at the bar for a long period of time while the barmaids were chatting among themselves when i finally was served ordered my food then sat down there was a crowd of people shouting and swearing at each other they were asked to be quiet there was children present but they continued to row and it escalated into beer being thrown glasses smashed all in front of chlidren all this going on and my food still didnt arrive i had to go down and ask where it was then the food came out the egg was like rubber i had a raw mushroom wasnt worth being on my plate! i left the rest as you could imagine the only nice thing was the beans and toast ! never again:(

Order two breakfasts, they happily swapped things for us that we didn't want on it, didn't wait too long although was taken to the wrong table first and we had to shout them over to us. I was asked by a neighbour to accompany her for a beer.The last time that I was in their, it was very bad.Since it has just been refurbished, it's a lot better. Bar staff very well dressed, and the beer has improved.Would define tally reccomend

Went here last Thursday with my girlfriend and received great service and the staff were really friendly and tbh I have nothing to complain about, me and my girlfriend will be returning to here to have food again as it was really good and only had to wait 10-15 minutes for it

I have reviewed the Eccles Cross already, but it has since been closed for a complete re-fit. Everything is new, lights, carpets, furniture, and the food is great, the drinks cheap, smiling cheerful waiters. Since it re-opened two weeks ago I have been with friends 5 times. Had the chicken dinner twice, roast beef once , fish and chips once, all cooked to perfection. BUT .. sad to say.. the brand new toilets are already starting to smell bad. There is no excuse for this. A bucket of hot water, a mop, and Jeyes Fluid is all thats needed. Action Please!

been in years before but as i had a appointment at salford royal was a couple hours early went in the eccles cross. good wetherspoon. the chilli potatoe was good and only had a diet coke to drink due to the appointment but it was cold enough

Average at best. This wetherspoons didn't stand out as much as some others I had been to previously. It is what it is. Cheap microwave food. It was fairly quick service considering a breakfast rush and we ordered from the normal menu.

We always call at this Wetherspoons on the way to Old Trafford when we go to the Super League Grand Final every October and it's a brilliant Wetherspoons. Lovely layout there's plenty of tables and it doesn't get too noisy at all.Food is the same across all Wetherspoons but the staff were very friendly, service very prompt and the food came out in no time. A Great pub.
