Great family friendly pub with great food and extremely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for families and get togethers with friends

Would have given 0 star if I could. Queued up to order but had to left as they told us they don’t serve outdoor seating ( we just saw them serving next table with full meals as well as desert) and the waiting time is 30 mins (the pub is not full ) Staffs are rude. They do not care about the customer. Stooding there waiting to be served while they were doing talking !!

Great place - great food at a really decent price. Nice and quiet despite quite a few others being present. Staff lovely and friendly.

6 of us meet monthly and was our 3rd visit to Henry Boddington. The music was so loud and was so disappointing that we found it difficult to hold conversations.

Menu and food very good the food was well cooked with generous portions the downside was for a pub named after a famous brewer they had no boddingtons or any other bitter just lager and Cider but the food made up for it

Food was ok despite the burning smells coming from the kitchen... I would say a little over priced for what it was. Service was very slow but ok. Unfortunately the main restaurant seating area was closed despite it being Saturday afternoon, we had to sit in the bar area for a meal. Which was disappointing and frustrating. Atmosphere was terrible - music blaring far too loud whilst customers were trying to talk which resulted in everyone in the bar practically yelling at each other, so not a great place to grab a bite to eat and catch up with friends and family.

Quite good but went to order food and found it was sold out spent time to reorder plus some people who had been to a funeral were over loud

Really nice food! We almost didn't go as the app said it had no availability, we called and they reserved us a table, when we got there it was empty, I think they need to reset the online preferences. Service was good depending on who you got serving you. You could tell who had been there a while and was having a chat. But at one point 5 meals (out of 6) came out and the staff just walked away, we waited a while but I had to go and ask at the bar about the other meal to be told it would be out soon. We also asked for extra spoons with desert that never arrived. I've still given 4 stars for service as it was only those two instances, and the more experienced staff made up for the mistakes made.

A great place to go and eat. We just moved to the area and live around the corner, we tried it on a whim and found it to be one of the best places to eat that we have been to. The food is of very good quality, far better than normal pub fare. We're not too keen on the atmosphere, but that is more because of the customers, they don't seem to be the friendliest lot, not moving out of your way if you need to get past, and you get a lot of stares if you're not a regular, but that's not the pubs fault. I just reflect it in my review to prepare anyone trying the place for the first time.

Cannot fault a thing. Food is always hot and tasty. Service is second to none and the atmosphere is brilliant. Table 25 in particular is wonderful. Can’t recommend enough.

Booked a table online. Was worst experience of a pub I’ve had. Was shown to the table that’s where customer service finished! Ordered food via the app was told there would be a wait although we were the only table in the restaurant. Food came burnt and inedible. No one asked how the food was. We ordered 2 desserts but waitress couldn’t put them down as nobody had cleared the table.

Didn't have a meal but there were many people eating. 👍 Good service and atmosphere for our reunion.

Some of the meals were good others no so, very noisy, but to be fair it was a quiz night

Attended this pub with friends and was treated with a lovely parking ticket a week afterwards. After reading some reviews this is not an issue only we have come across. The staff replied to a previous review stating “if you would have discussed this with us we could have seen what we could have done”. My partner went into the facility and was presented with an extremely rude and confrontational staff member that seemed uninterested in what he had to say and told him to take it up with the parking company. Whilst this may be your “policy” there’s ways of explaining this to customers rather than coming across as rude. Due to other local pubs dealing with this issue in a pleasant manner with friends of ours i decided to call up the pub myself and discuss our situation. They have the same argument about these 9 signs that are clearly a waste of money due to nobody seeing them. Regardless of the 9 signs a parking ticket has still been issued despite us having proof of purchase. I explained to this woman over the phone that one of their staff members has kindly pointed us in the direction of where to get help and her response was “was it …. By any chance? Ill be speaking to him about this because he shouldn’t be telling you that”. What, he shouldn’t be helping customers where he can? Why would you disclose to customers how your going to discipline your staff? Very unprofessional! I can only thank the one helpful staff member that wanted to help us and tried to despite not even being on shift. Overall the disgusting attitude and behaviour from these staff members is outrageous and how she thought it was appropriate to behave that way with customers. Will not be returning to this place its a mess.

Bad service, girl didn’t even know what the cocktail I chose from their menu was, she said “what’s that” you tell me love, then proceeded to say she’s only got 1 of the 12 cocktails they had… has to go back and re choose only for her to ID me, I’m 32. Said f it and left, smelt weird in there anyway

We frequent this establishment on our dinner breaks and have to say the food and service is excellent only made more perfect by my tinted eyebrowed queen behind the bar, they say angels don't walk on the plains of this realm but in this case they genuinely do

Absolutely gem of a place! Been working away stopping in the Premier Inn next door. Up here for 8 weeks and the food, drink and atmosphere is bang on. Amanda (the owner) Louise and all the other staff are so friendly. 100 percent recommend if in the area

The kitchen was absolute shocking! There was only 1 chief on. We was told there was a wait time! However that is not the case. We waited over an hour for a simple kids pizza. It was the last meal to come out for my 6 yr old. Who said it’s cold. The dough wasn’t cooked thoroughly. He went past hungry. 6 adults all got there meals 3 of which meals where incorrect the food was extremely nice when it was correct hense the 5star. I feel sorry for Matt the young man on the restaurant floor. Wasn’t his fault he had returned several incorrect orders from all around the restaurant and was very polite and professional to me and my family. Well done Matt your a credit to this restaurant. Keep up the hard work. Usually 99% of the time this place is banging and does really really great food. Tonight wasn’t one of them. Nicky was kind catering and considerate and offered free deserts in which nobody wanted any. Very disappointed will expect a partial refund.

It's a great place for food. It's always fresh and hot, or it's great if you just want drinks. The karaoke is fab as well. The beer garden in summer is always busy, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming

Simply mediocre, a place best avoided.

Food was absolutely lovely and is 95% of the time but unfortunately on this occasion food was cold once it arrived. I’d also like to add the young gentle man that works behind the bar could benefit for extra training, every time we have ordered with him our food always come out wrong or being over charged. Will definitely hesitate visit again as this is a recurring thing with this staff member which is a shame as we visit a few times a month.

I got a mega mix where the sausages cam burnt and stake was like eating charcoal as was the chicken

Not ranked food as did not eat, had a fiftieth birthday drink, atmosphere was good without being too loud so could still have good conversation. Staff were on point, and no-one had to wait excessively for service at the bar.

Had an incredible reunion with my Salford University colleague, Ms. Ami Sheriff, whom I haven't seen since 2018 – that's a whole 5 years! Time truly flies. We shared wonderful stories about our adventures and caught up on all that's happened during these years. So glad and happy to have finally seen her today at Henry Boddington, and we celebrated with some delicious well-done steaks. Cheers to the journey we've both had! 🥂👏 #Reunion #GoodTimes

Went here for the first time yesterday. We all had excellent food fast friendly service and a good atmosphere. We were only over from Halifax but will be back again when I the area. The chicken masala was lovely. 👍

Went in at 7pm last night, Ordered food, waited 45 minutes for this, only to be told then that there was a 1 hour wait. Ordered desserts. Waited 30 minutes, asked if they would be much longer, then told they didn't have the deserts we ordered. At what point was this information coming to us? Given an alternative one . And then only when I complained did I get a refund for the desserts. Poor lack of communication on their side. I have also emailed their head office.

we decided to go for some tea and a drink after work. We had the sizzling cajan smoked salmon with roast vegetables, and rice which done perfectly, and really enjoyed, with salt n pepper mushrooms and spicy cauliflower and it was really tasty , better than I expected, we was that impressed we went again the following week, , but this time tried the cajan chicken and my husband had the tikka chicken, which again really tender and perfectly spiced , there was plenty on your plate and a good choice on the menu, everything we had from there so far has been top notch - Posh pub grub We definitely recommend- keep up the good work Always busy the staff work really hard nice atmosphere, karaoke afterwards, Nice local pub Really warm and friendly staff Definitely recommend- Also great cheap deals on cocktails and drinks Also kids meals for £1 and 3 course for kidd £3:50 Always a plus, wots not to like :)

The sign says "Bar & Grill," so I walked in, hoping to get something to eat. Only to be told there's no food available. Apparently, it's just a bar. There's no grill. As a bar, though, it's pretty great. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Good spot to hang with the lads.

Ordered salmon, it was raw, sent it back, new plate came back with apologies, however this one was dry and like cardboard

I visited this pub in the 26/7 around 6pm and was extremely disappointed. The restaurant was quiet but the wait time for our start and main was extremely long however the experience just continued to worsen from there. There staff were rude and unfriendly what seemed to be the manger on shift brought our food out slammed it down with out a word being said to us and sped off the same thing happened with our mains. The main was vile!!! Over cooked and fatty i complete waste of money normally I would have notified the staff of the poor quality food they had brought out but they were completely unapproachable I also witnessed another lady saying she was dissatisfied with her meal to the manger and then saw there manger walk off and speak inappropriately about this lady to another member of staff so as you can imagine I felt to uncomfortable to bring up the issues with my food. Food was excellent and brought out in a timely manner. Staff are conscientious and it's a nice venue.

Typical chain establishment. Offers on food are good with good choices too. Drinks also included in some offers.

Afternoon Dinner. The service was really poor, recruited young staff and have not trained them well on bar service, table service and general manners. Hot stack burger was not hot and the chicken had no flavour, tasty greasy and the coating just broke off the chicken. Wife enjoyed the lasagne though, if coming here just to drink it wouldn’t be a problem. But this is the third time I’ve ate here and had three different meals all under par cooked with poor customer service throughout
