Lovely impromptu afternoon visit with friends, after a walk around RHS. Surprisingly tasty Sunday dinner. Amy, who served us, was lovely - very polite young lady who was extremely attentive.

Used to love this place for a reasonable mid-week meal. Unfortunately on the last two visits the food has been terrible and last time we just walked out and went somewhere else and left the food on the table. The orders have been wrong on the last two visits and had to send food back. The meal was horrendously overcooked and dry as a dog biscuit. Seriously how do you burn pineapple! We may visit for a drink in summer but won’t be coming back for food. Really need to up the game team, we don’t expect 5 star food but it should be edible!

Table was dirty, asked someone to wipe it three times but no one cleaned it, food was very disappointing, tried to order a wrap but none were available, ordered a bowl of chips, bowl with 7 chips arrived at the table

Excellent service, very friendly and great food at reasonable prices too. Highly recommended. Looked after a group of 11 of us beautifully.

We'd booked ahead for our large cycling group and Michael looked after us very well. We enjoyed the lunchtime light bite specials on the terrace in the sunshine. Great value and service thanks

Went to the moorings after a funeral on Monday and the lady who booked and paid for it all was niece of the deceased I think funeral directors recommended the mooring Well to say the food and service was disgusting was an understatenent I had a rump steak that was that tough and dry had to leave it dog enjoyed it the chips were cold and had been reheated, one of the other guests had steak and jacket potato that was cold, then someone had beef with mash and veg, stone cold Had to wait an hour for sweet not enough staff on, When asked how long sweet would be got told have other people besides you in really rude The fact it was a funeral we were at would have been rude to complain as I wasn't paying and the lady who paid is not from same area as the moorings I would like an explanation at why the experience was so bad with badly served up food I would never recommend it for either drinks or food and I am a local resident

Lovely pub. We had a family lunch, and got a window table to watch the barges go by. The food was beautiful presented and cooked. Our server Michael was friendly and professional. The service was excellent.....thank you Michael. Enjoyed it. Would recommend it to anyone. 👍

Used to love this place, unfortunately is not the same as per our last visit. We waited for our food over an hour (we were advised we will have to wait around 40 min.but after an hour we had to go to bar to ask about our food) kids portion of squid £1.99 doesn't feel much different from an adult one that cost around £5 😅... Nice looking prawns and chorizo starter on menu that cost over £6 was served cold and with uncooked prawns (after an over hour wait 😅) no one from service didn't even bothered to come to ask, if food is ok, or we need anything else... Whooping over £15 mixed grill looked like kids menu grill, with 2 burned onions rings and a burned piece of pineapple to hide the rest of nothing in the plate 🤣😅 Being honest the only good thing from dinner was a wine 😅 (and is not cheap!!) not coming back again ... 🫣

Nice spot for some lunch in the summertime. Food was ok typical pub menu all the favourites. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They even had some nice dog treats for our dogs.

A pub situated right on the Quayside. I'm not sure whether it was because they were a bit busier than normal on a Monday but this pub was practically self service. We waited at the bar to be served but were ignored for a good 10 minutes before a waitress gave us menus and asked us to find a seat. Upon deciding to sit outside, we had to navigate 2 steps, one of which had lost half of its tiles which created a very narrow uneven step which could potentially cause falls. The table was dirty and covered in salt flakes but was the only one in the shade. I was served fairly quickly when going in the order food but had to collect my own cutlery and sauces. The food was delicious and hot which made up a bit for the lack of service.

My Lasagna was absolutely delightful, all staff were so attentive to me and my son, a special shout out to Michael and Caitlyn who saw to my every need, were extremely helpful and welcoming and saw that I received my food soon after ordering, I will definitely be returning

We waited 45mins for food, (we were told it was a long wait) when the food came , we had to send one plate back as no sauce the other plate of food was tasteless and has black burnt bits on the plate. We didn’t complain as nobody came over to ask if everything was ok! I did ask for knives and forks nothing came so we took from another table. It’s a real shame because we have always had really nice food before.

Great for a budget meal out. I had the beef Sunday dinner. It was nice but wasn't piping hot and the beef for quite fatty. Gravy is beautiful though. My 4 year old had fish fingers and really enjoyed it. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating eith views over the canal. Lovely atmosphere.

The lamb roast was disgusting. Waited an hour for the food and when it came, it looked like it had been taken from a vacuum packed frozen meal with the stuffing in a long block which was dry and the roast potatoes about an inch long and wilted broccoli. We waited an hour apparently because they had complications because I was allergic to cheese which they have on the cauliflower. My partner wasn't allergic to cheese but he didn't get any either! We both ended up with a dodgy stomach afterwards and sick when we both got home. 🤢 Not fresh food and would never order from there again. 😕

Hiya went to the moorings today with my husband and my autistic son tia the waitress went above and beyond she was expectionl with my son brought him something to draw with the service she gave was second to non the food was amazing my husband had mixed grill and I had lasagne both was stunning the views and canal was amazing highly recommend the moorings thanks so much will definitely see you all soon

Great focaccia, Very tasty good portions, ace canal views.

The customer service is non existent, was ignored at the bar for several minutes even though the only customer waiting, wine served in a dirty glass, when taken back to the bar for a replacement, I was offered a clean glass to pour my wine into out of the dirty one! No suggestion of a replacement drink. Need to up your customer service and have some staff training in place… food was lukewarm and mediocre at best. Will not be returning, which is a shame the pub is in a great location, but could do much better.

Disappointing service, our server abandoned us half way through the meal. We had to go to the bar to pay the bill. Food was ok, but service as bad as it gets!

My last visit to the moorings wasn't a good one the food was poor. Decided to give this place another go and so glad I did it was beautiful and the staff were so lovely .

Booked a table for a birthday dinner. The manager was great and helped with everything. Dylan the waiter was amazing, very attentive and kind. Altogether a great place to take the family.

If I could give more stars for service I would. Dylan was absolutely amazing so friendly and happy really made our meal all the more enjoyable

Michael served my wife and I with food and drink and dessert. He was both professional and charming. He greeted us on the way in and thanked us on the way out.. The food was hot and plentiful dessert was even better. Good views. Disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Fantastic food very good services

Great spot for a pit stop on our walk, we didnt eat here but saw the food coming out which looked very nice…staff were polite..husband liked his ale. My only niggle is I don’t drink alcohol and I love nothing more than a nice cold bottle of either Coke Zero or Diet Coke..I hate draught coke..on going in the soft drinks fridge was quite bare and alas only bottle was original coke..so just had to settle for a bottle of water. Maybe either keep stocking fridges up or as I was told had none then maybe order more on your dray delivery as if it’s selling out it obviously sells, summer here and Euros on, pubs should over stock usual amount and it’s not a great look having a bare fridge..will call back though to try the food.

So moored up and called in for the first time. It was England Euros night so busy, but great atmosphere and so impressed with the food and drink. Great price too! You could see the staff were working super hard and they were genuinely friendly. Well done team, keep it up. Daz on the good boat Njörðr.

Great service and food, venue is in a great location but some of the windows have internal fog so window table watching the canal was affected. Other than that, great place to eat

I had Katsu curry, rice, chips. Not enough curry sauce. I asked for more ..the waitress brought it to me in a small container. Unfortunately it was cold. Didn't want to take it back as we waited about 20 minutes. Then had a latte coffee which was awful. Again nearly cold. The menu isn't extensive. Won't go again. You need to have more choices. Not a healthy menu. Sorry.

Excellent place to stop on the bridge water canal.

Food was lovely, Tia was our server today and she was brilliant! Helped anytime we needed no matter how busy & still made time to make sure everything was good for us.

All the staff were very warm and welcoming. The food was great. Michael served us and was very friendly. My friends 1 year old loved him!

Half the menu not available told no chips so would have to have fries then 1 minute later meals arrived with chips. Food was OK and reasonable price and the server tried her best but gave the impression of a not very well run establishment. Won't be returning.

I visited on Monday afternoon and although the pub was extremely busy I have nothing but positive things to say! The food was great and really reasonably priced. Danielle was fab, super friendly and helpful. We will deffo be back!

Visited June 2024. A lovely spot by the marina especially on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Easily accessible by road and the Bridgewater Canal on foot or by bike. An excellent place to relax and have a beer. The food seems particularly expensive considering the size of the side dishes but that died not detract from the overall ambience of the place.

Good place for a drink, lovely surroundings and decent price too, will get a breakfast next time I go in

Food was shocking 45min wait then for food to turn up not as stated. Proceeded to bring me uncooked bacon and slice of microwaved cheese out on a plate.

Caitlin and Chloe were so great! We had to leave and come back and they were so accommodating about the whole situation. A great experience and we will definitely be going again! Thank you

Where do I even start! The worst experience. Ended up leaving with a refund. Booked a table for 2, arrive & order food. Starter comes, as we are sat there eating, you can hear 2 girls swearing, being awfully loud & rude, baring in mind there was around 3 families sat in the same section with young children. You could tell by the look on the parents faces they were not happy. These 2 girls then decide to open the kitchen door, go in with the door held open screaming, swearing etc to the workers in the kitchen. At this point we had, had enough. My partner goes over to the kitchen and says ' is this how it is having randomers in the kitchen whilst your cooking my food'. The chef comes out shouting at my partner stating that one of these girls was his girlfriend & she works there. Are you kidding me? Not only has this girl acted the way she has, she's done it in her own workplace and not one member of staff said anything. The chef them proceeds to say he won't be cooking our food and to get our money back. So unprofessional. (At this point we had already made that decision) I can state that the lad behind the bar, (think it was Jake/Jack) was a different story. He's a credit to any company. Couldn't apologise enough, was so polite & professional.

Understaffed on a sunny Saturday. Horrendous wait for food and massive queues for the bar. Over an hour to get ice cream out of the freezer. Waited an hour for our main meals, too. Won't be coming back as I can't say the food or experience was worth the wait. The car park is free for customers but it was hard to find a space and the spaces themselves were a tight squeeze to get in. EDIT: In response to the reply I have received: I'm not sure who Andrew is, but we did ask staff on the day multiple times for an update on our food and we were told that there was a long wait and "more staff were arriving at 5pm". In the car park, the approach to many of the spaces is tight due to the layout; not enough space to pass other vehicles, and many spaces packed into a small space.

Lovely pub, especially when the sunshines,great outdoor terrace, good chilled atmosphere, good food, first class service, staff are very attentive.

Not been in for years, and I posted what I witnessed at the time which wasn't great but popped in Sunday for a pint with my brother in law, what a difference place was buzzing and the staff where on the ball looking for customers to serve this experience was a world away from my last visit, I spoke to the landlady she was nice and I got a good feeling about the place, looking forward to drinks in the sun.

A superb location on a warm, sunny day! Great drinks and food helped us enjoy our time watching the boating activities!

Waited 2 hours for 1 tiny brownie after telling the workers 3 times they never gave us one until we went to the manager and he went to 'investigate' it.

Absolutely shocking service. Understand an hour waiting for food at a busy time but another hour for scoop of ice cream which is on the kids meal deal is unbelievable!!

Really disappointing visit to what should be a lovely waterside pub. When we arrived we stood by a board which said wait here to be seated. Well no-one came near us so eventually we went to the bar where we were ignored by the bar staff until we had to grab their attention by loudly asking could they tell us where our table was. We were pointed in the direction of a little table with two armchairs and one dining chair unsuitable for three people to eat a meal on. We asked to be moved and a very pleasant young man came and said of course we could move we couldnt have a meal at that table so we got a lovely table by a window so our hope's were raised. We assumed we would be served as no-one had mentioned that we had to order at the bar so after a lengthy wait we went to the bar and ordered. Two scampi and one fishcakes. The fishcakes were nice apparently but the scampi were overcooked and arrived in a tiny enamel bowl (7 pieces) and half a dozen chips very unsatisfactory. The only staff we saw appeared to be out of the kitchen certainly not waiting on staff. Overall this was a very disappointing visit and we wont be returning, such a shame as the location was lovely.

Waited 1hr 20 mins for average food not the best definitely not returning rude staff when enquiries into where our food was like it was our fault they can't keep up with the orders...not overly busy would hate to see it when it's busy people ordering after us were told 2hrs wait on food as if this is acceptable. Personally I think McDonald's is a better option for food than here my advice is don't waste your money.place needs money spent on it very run down inside toilets not great ..just give it a miss.

Me, my baby and my friend visited the moorings on a Sunday, the weather was nice and we sat outside. My friend went inside to order food and drinks, she came back with only drinks to inform me that food is a 2 hour wait, i couldnt believe this as the pub itself was not busy at this time. We ordered food anyway and to our disbelief the food was infact a 2 hour+ wait, i had to check twice where our food was after this time. The food did eventually arrive however it was poor, dry and definitely not worth the wait. The staff were rude to my friend at the bar, many of them seemed clueless and a waiter came outside and said about "100" people had ordered food and was waiting on it, like it was our fault. I personally feel they do not have a handle on this issue as me and my partner visited the pub about 6 months ago and we were told the food would be 1 hour 30 minutes wait... We left and went to coal and cotton instead. Other than the view by the canal this pub doesn't have anything else going for it.

I come in around lunch time most weeks. Food is very good, however, service over last 3-4 visits quite poor. Bar Staff spend more time chatting to each other than being attentive to the customers around them. Waited 20 mins for plates to be cleared and then another 10 mins for desserts to arrive

We ordered steak and ale pie and the special, which was glazed pork loin with mash. The pie was lovely. The pork loin was awful and the mash was packet mash that had un-rehydrated bits. Really disappointed. We won't be going back for a meal again, unfortunately. The pub was very busy as the sun was out, the staff were working super hard and were great, couldn't fault them.. but it would have been better if there was a designated food till and proper queues because it was so busy that it was a bit chaotic for everyone involved. REPLY: Thanks for taking the time to reply, maybe consider assigning a designated food ordering til, even if just for the busy times. The food was the most disappointing bit. I wish I'd taken a photo, but the dry loin that came out didn't look anything like the advertised photo, and I am not against packet mash, but the dry bits in my portion shouldn't be there. I took stars off because the food was bad, noone asked us how the meal was while we were there so I couldn't feedback at the time, and it was uncomfortable at the bar with no organisation and people queue jumping thus making us not want to return for food.
