Booked a table in advance for lunch and when we got there was told we could only have tea and cake. We told the lady that we had booked for lunch and she was really rude and said why didn’t you say that ? She didn’t give us a chance. She just said you will have to wait as I’m on my own. We managed to order a ploughman’s which wasn’t very good at all. Thin ham and stale bread and wasn’t worth the money. There was other people in there that wanted to order a panini and was told they didn’t have any and if they wanted to eat they would have to have to have a toastie or cake. They had booked a table and they said they had no record of the booking. Wouldn’t go there again. Very rude member of staff who was obviously not happy she was on her own and bad service.

Wow, afternoon tea. My good friend bought me afternoon tea as a gift for my 50th ! The food was amazing, a great selection of savoury sandwiches , quiche, cheesy bites and yorkie puds with beef followed by a selection of cakes and then Liz’s homemade cheesecake which was incredible. The food was fresh and tasty and just Devine! This place is fantastic and needs our support. In 2024 it will change and concentrate more on events and I think it’s unique and a great place for groups who enjoy fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Thank you Liz. Best afternoon tea I’ve had! We came here on a Sunday lunch with the family. The eatery is true to its name, it’s definitely eccentric. The decor is whimsical with nods to Alice In Wonderland and Harry Potter. It’s quite a small place but it’s spread over two floors. The music can be slightly grating after a while but you soon zone it out. The majority of our party had the Tiddley Tea and we sure got tiddley after it! The cocktails are strong and served in cute tea pots. The food was tasty and had a great selection, and served in a traditional afternoon tea style. The food itself is prepared in house, so a deposit is needed if you make a booking. They also have special events throughout the year. I believe they get booked up pretty quickly so make sure you book in advance. Overall, a quirky place, with good food. It’s exactly what Northampton needs. Something different with a unique approach.

I've now visited 4 times, with my partner, friends and my sister who was visiting from out of town. Each time we had afternoon tea. Each time there's bit a slight variation but every one was delicious, from the mini Yorkshire pudding, quiche and the sandwiches were lovely. I have a big appetite and I had to take a doggy bag home with me. I loved the mini meringues which we had on one visit. The service is lovely, as is the venue, really lovely staff. I'll definitely be back, perhaps for an evening event next time

I have been today for an afternoon tea today with my daughter and friends. It was so disappointing, they brought tiny sandwiches with cheap bread and some other shop bought bits and pieces, and again shop bought biscuits, tiny muffins and some jelly in tiny cups, coffee tasted cold and cheap, and then brought cheese cake again topping wasn’t great. From the picture it looks they have a spacious place, but again it is deceiving as it was a tiny room and it is so extensive for what it is. It was supposed to be a birthday treat for my daughter and friend, but I have never been anywhere and left so disappointed. You can put some instagram pictures afterwards that’s about it as they charge you for the decor, other than that there is nothing special about this place.

Enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch here with a friend. We had a panini and a fishfinger sandwich to eat which were fine, washed down with a teapot of cocktail to share and butterbeer shots as a treat (delicious!). It's a venue of two halves; downstairs is small, bright and bonkers, upstairs seems more sombre and lacked atmosphere (but that may be due to no customers there). We were served by Hayden, who was friendly and helpful. We had a great time and will keep our eyes peeled for event evenings in the future.

The pictures of the lovely afternoon tea items on the website and on these reviews no way match up to what was served in the afternoon tea that some friends had booked. The cakes brought out looked very plain and shop bought and scones were not included (which you would expect). The cream tea that a couple of people ordered consisted of one very dry scone that looked like it had come out of a packet of shop bought scones. The chocolate cake was also dry and disappointing. There was very little choice of cakes and desserts and the staff, particularly the manageress was quite terse. I couldn't spot anything that looked like it was freshly baked.

after listening to people rave about this place in 2023 a couple of us decided to visit last wednesday. to say we left feeling dissatisfied is an understatement. we ordered 2 cocktails. these had clearly been made in the glass as as we got to the bottom of the glass the alcohol content and sweetness has sunk. needless to say there wasn’t a great deal of alcohol in the drink. we wanted to order afternoon tea only to find that this had to be pre ordered. no bother though we will grab something else. we should have just walked away at this point. we ordered a sharing platter which consisted of chicken goujions. mozzarella stick. halloumi chunks and onion rings. the only part that was actually enjoyed was the halloumi. the mozzarella was undercooked. the onion rings where pale and the chicken was like the overly processed rubbish that you get out of farm foods and severely undercooked. it felt like the whole platter had been cooked on the same tray and timed by the quickest cooking item. the atmosphere wow. those that are placed upstairs are very much left to it. don’t get it twisted the place has the bare bones to make it an awesome addition to the town and has the potential to be bustling little cafe. but need the staff to trained correctly in cocktail making and some cooking lessons wouldn't go a miss. we actually ended up going up the road for cake and coffee

Been here a few times, pre christmas get together with family. 7 of us. Food is always very good. Recommend the snowball its huge ! Service is excellent- actually an entertainment in itself. Maddie must be a stand up comedian if she's not she needs to be, take it from an actor. We did oddly have to ask for crackers. Which were those new fangled silent ones - pointless really. You will pay around £50pp 3 courses, which is think is worth it.

We ate breakfast here. Cooked to order eggs were available and I got a large omelette which was filling. Nicely done hash browns, croissants were lovely. I liked the quality of the food and the friendly service.

Went for Christmas meal 21st dec with friends. The food was lovely and hot and my vegan option was very tasty. One of the best Xmas dinners I have had. All the staff were friendly and helpful and lovely atmosphere with the decorations. Will definitely go back next year.
