Came in on a lovely sunny evening, only to be greeted with the most exceptional service from Reece. I only wish that every server could take a leaf out of his book. Would recommend!

Terrible dry and small chicken wings, seems like piegon wings rather than chicken( not worth the price) and very small portion chips either

A cozy and comfortable place. The vegan burger was unbelievably similar to the taste of meat.

Over priced London pub selling ipa

He estado aquí para un asado dominical un par de veces a lo largo de los años y decidí traer a mi mamá ayer por su cumpleaños. Me sorprendió mucho poder reservar una mesa de 7 en poco tiempo, ya que siempre ha estado muy ocupado. Éramos un grupo de 4 adultos y 3 niños y los 4 adultos pidieron el asado compartido a £ 85. En mi cabeza esperaba que fuera al menos del tamaño de 4 asados estándar, pero no lo fue (mi hijo tenía un asado estándar y pude comparar). Había una pequeña rebanada de cerdo, un pequeño trozo de pollo, 3 pequeñas rebanadas de ternera más un hojaldre vegetariano. Hice una consulta y nos sacaron un poco más de carne de res, pero tengo que decir, me sorprendió lo que estaba en el tablero por £ 85. Los budines de Yorkshire eran duros y fríos y la carne estaba bastante seca - tal vez es nuestra culpa para visitar al final del día, pero la calidad definitivamente no es lo que hemos experimentado antes. Incluso la comida de los niños estaba demasiado cocinada. Estábamos sentados bastante cerca de la barra y ni una vez un miembro del personal se acercó a la mesa para ver si necesitábamos algo, tuvimos que llamar a alguien si necesitábamos algo. Great pub! The staff were friendly and helpful. Close to Waterloo but far enough away from the rush hour crowds.

Great food, check the menu out advance before booking for food. Afternoon and evening tables always booked in advance for weekends as popular. Great location with beer garden and can watch sport.

Nice pub, convenient for Waterloo and Waterloo East stations. They have a good range of beers, and although I don't usually eat here, the food has been good when I have done. Since covid they have managed to keep an extended outdoor seating area on the quiet road.

Un gran calificativo - la multitud de 6 a 8 jóvenes que usan los baños de hombres (alrededor de las 6 pm) preguntando con cierta presión si uno podría vender o comprar medicamentos de Clase A con ellos. Parecía que venían de practicar fútbol. Como sea, una experiencia muy desagradable.

Lieux convivial et sympathique, nous sommes venu pour notre premier repas de vacances. Pas déçu de la qualité de service et de la sympathie du personnel. En revanche, 7.50£ pour une bières en 50cl dont le prix n’est pas indiqué sur la carte je trouve ça excessif et un peu attrape touristes. Ainsi que les charges de services qui sont sensé être facultative d’après internet mais pas dans notre cas apparemment. Cela aurait pu etre un premier repas exceptionnel sur londres vu la qualité du lieux et du personnel mais on ce sent légèrement léser quand la note arrive.

Reservado al azar porque era conveniente para Waterloo. Gran almuerzo de domingo, gran asado, gran hamburguesa, gran pastel de pescado, brownie excepcional. Personal encantador, amable y servicial - felizmente pagado el cargo por servicio discrecional. Si estamos en la zona de nuevo volveremos. Muy feliz.

We come fairly often for family lunches and the team always look after us. However on this occasion I would like to say a HUGE thanks to Reece who was fantastic. We had a group of 12 (the rowdy Cork Rebels) and he ensured we had everything we needed and was extremely attentive and efficient. Thanks so much and look forward to seeing you again soon! Slainte!!

A well looked after pub. Reasonably small, however asked for a drink at 2220 and said they weren’t serving, google says you’re open until 2300 so should be serving until then. Not a major issue with lots of alternatives close by, but just not great!

We used a meeting room for the day and everything was great. The staff were lovely and Inna really looked after us. The food was delicious and it was excellent for a few drinks after too We will be back again soon.

The food was pretty tasty tonight despite a limited menu for Boxing Day. I got a sausage roll and fish and chips, plus two drinks. The fish piece was larger than both of my hands together, wrist to fingertips. The fish was well cooked and the fries were nice and crispy. The sausage roll was really yummy. The drinks were very weak. I usually feel the effects of a cocktail just a few sips in but I finished the whole mojito without feeling any alcohol. The service was decent overall, a little slow to get started. I would come back again for another sausage roll and skip the cocktails!

Burgaren och ölen var bra men servicen var obefintlig(serveringspersonalen hade inte förmåga att lyssna) och cesarsalladen var inte en Cesarsallad så tyvärr en trist upplevelse. Handlar det om att fylla magen med calorier så OK.

We went here to eat some Christmas food . At the first glance it looked nice and that then we got to order food. The Cesar salad whit chicken was terrible! It was just peaces of a broaken salad and some chicken and some small slimy fishes really not our type of food. Then the service was on another level. When the food was done and the chefs called a waitress no one came. So we had to go and get a waitress to serve the food to us. One of them did not care when we said that the salad was not what we expected.

Made a booking to see family that lived far away and we all met in Waterloo. Girl serving us was very sweet and attentive. Two of us ordered the trout and crab risotto but there was not trout and no crab in the risotto. Gave us salmon laid over bland rice. No one asked if the meal was okay and our waitress went on break halfway through our meal. At the end of the meal I ask to take the service charge off to try and leave our first waitress some cash instead, when a very rude shift manager came over and abruptly said “why are you taking it off”. I wouldn’t come back again. Spent over £100 for the 3 of us, the food was bland, this manager rude and we were sat next to the kitchen so we were burning hot.

It was a busy Sunday with no booking but that managed to seat us outside under the heated patio. The Sunday dinner was lovely - knocking down a star because 2 of the menu options I chose were unavailable and the yorkshires weren’t very nice but the rest of the food was really good. Service was good with table and bar service and a nice selection of beers on cask and tap. Prices generally pretty decent for central London too.

We booked here for Christmas lunch at the start of December 2024. The pub is easy to find and just a short walk from North Lambeth or Waterloo Tube stations. We had a table in the back and, when one of our party was running a bit late due to the trains, they were great at holding back the starters. We’d pre-ordered from the festive menu and the venison and cheese board were both great. I had to ask for some more crackers for the amount of cheese they gave and, whilst we’re talking about crackers, the Christmas crackers they gave us were really good quality (donation to charity included as part of them being bought and good quality inserts). Service was really good - nothing was too much trouble and, for central London, the price was reasonable. Overall, a very successful meal.

What a find! Just 5 minutes (if that) from The Old Vic and a delicious lunch in a carefully restored, traditional London pub, with great service - what's not to like? They have clearly struck gold with their chef - very tasty food, beautifully presented, with a light, creative touch that was....well, unexpected. And the staff were brilliant!

The staff got the time wrong for our booking , which we booked in person the day before and then reluctantly allowed us to come at the time we had originally booked. The food was very bland, and we felt like we were being rushed from our table. Overall wouldn’t recommend, for the price you pay you can get a far nicer roast elsewhere.

Had our Christmas lunch here. Really nice. But very busy due to the season. The staff was very accommodating and amended some of our orders. As it was really busy today it was difficult for the staff to be more attentive due to the season but please don't let it turn you off.Would recommend a visit for either just drinks or food and drinks. It is a lovely place to meet friends after work in the spring summer time to sit in the garden. Really worth a visit.

Nice enough pub if you are near Waterloo. Quite expensive. £19 for a burger. £7 a pint. Not loads of space inside. However we sat outside and it was a good atmosphere.

This was a really vibrant pub, and we were surprised by how busy it was on a Sunday night! The 1664 Blanc was a real pleasant surprise - very enjoyable. Came here for a quick pint and were not left disappointed! £20 for a pint and a double Bailey’s did leave me feeling a bit robbed though.

Very strange customer service from the manager Marius. Got annoyed with us when he forgot our drinks order, and then squaring up for an argument when the kitchen forgot to heat up some of the food. Not a great Christmas meal

This was a group dinner for about 12 people, something some restaurants struggle to cater for. We were asked to pre order and the food arrived on time and the staff knew who had ordered each dish, so no uncertainty or confusion. The food was good and a plus for me, the portions were not too large, so I could have managed three courses. Good atmosphere although we used one of the private dining rooms.

Went for a Sunday roast, the chicken was dry, the potatoes were dry and the service was non-existent. Quite embarrassing. Edit to respond to the response: the drinks we ordered never came, we had to get up to remind the barman (he apologised). When the drinks came, one of the drinks was wrong (another apology). The food was quite late and was incredibly dry and tasteless (potatoes were like cardboard). We wanted a dessert menu and had to get up and ask for it ourselves. Overall a pretty underwhelming experience from somewhere that supposedly prides themselves on their Sunday roast. I think 3 stars is being generous to be perfectly honest. Good luck

They have nice function rooms upstairs for dining. The wine I had was labelled as special but tasted old. The food was nice and a good portion but the service was really slow.

The place is very welcoming and elegant, excellent food, especially fish & chips and burgers (vegan and traditional). Excellent service and quick and welcoming staff. Also excellent beers and drink offerings. Advised!

Blimey. Nearly £7 for a pint of Sambrook’s Wandle which comes in at 3.8%. What a rip off! It was served in a glass that was still warm too so it didn’t make for the best pint. There was also a bit of a strange smell in the pub so one pint was more than enough here. By far the most expensive ale I’ve had in the area and far from the best. The Pride was excellent at The Windmill earlier and was only £5.75. There are plenty of options in the area at much better value.

My partner and I were sat next to the kitchen. Halfway through our meal she watched a mouse/rat run next to our table and around our feet. We both quickly questioned the hygiene of the kitchen and our meals (which were not cheap). I immediately let a manager know and asked for the bill. They still expected us to pay for the whole bill even after our complaints and revealed to us that they have a PEST ISSUE. After fighting with the manager to have our meals comped she finally agreed and rather rudely returned a new bill without any apology. The pubs complete lack of concern around the issue made it clear that they have this ongoing issue and are not concerned about their customers food safety as it is a central pub that has a lot of tourists that most likely will Never return. However we were very upset with how the manager dealt with this situation and will definitely not be returning to this rat infested restaurant.

Good pub but careful when online booking. Took my booking for lunch for 8 including kids, we arrived on a rainy day to be told we had a bench in the garden which was totally unsuitable. The booking confirmation didn’t say anything about an outside table. Not good.

Fantastic food , I had the vegan option and it was very tasty, my husband had the beef and he said it was melt in the mouth .

A very busy and obviously popular gastro pub. Very welcoming staff and good Sunday roast menu, food nicely cooked. Roast potatoes would be better if served crispy. Would be happy to return if back in the area.

Great trendy pub 👍 only thing is it costs you an extra £2.00 per round if you are served by the waiters. My advice, get your steps in, walk to the bar and save yourself some hard earned cash 😉

Comimos aquí antes que la Vieja Vic. Asientos dentro y fuera, servicio decente y cervezas bien cuidadas y buena comida. Los entrantes y la red eléctrica se servían extrañamente al mismo tiempo. El pollo y el pastel de puerro y la lubina eran buenos y el pescado perfectamente cocinado.

We came in for a late afternoon Sunday roast, and we were greeted warmly with kindness. The staff (In particular one chap) went out of their way to accommodate us for dinner and to make sure we were happy. The roast was pretty tasty, nice selection of meat and vegetables, with really yummy stuffing balls. The roast potatoes were a little dry and not as crispy as we'd like but really good portion and value for money. Will definitely come back again.

Had a roast dinner here and on the whole it was good. The chicken was a bit dry and needed much more gravy, Yorkshire was a bit too cooked for my liking too. Slightly small portion of cauliflower cheese for £7 but still nice - on the whole a solid roast but could be much better with some minor improvements.

Hosted a party in a private room last week for about 40 people. Service was fantastic and we had a great night. Would recommend!

Recommended by Kevin @ParkPlaza and so glad we walked over to enjoy this Pub. This experience will be the high bar. We had Black Pudding Pork Scottish Eggs w/sauce followed by Bangers & Mash for me and Chicken Pie for my DW who also tried a Camden Hells lager.

Así las cosas, logré llamar la atención de alguien para pedir la cuenta, pero no fue hasta que me puse mi abrigo que alguien trajo una máquina de tarjetas. Honestamente, habría comido más rápido, la comida habría sido más sabrosa, y habría pagado mucho menos, si hubiera comido en Pret, más adelante.

Had dinner with friends, we had a couple of starters to share and all had the ribeye. It was the nicest and best cooked steak I’ve had in a very long time, the fries and sauce were excellent too. Service was really good, friendly and attentive. Would really recommend a visit.

Nice little pub, delicious Sunday roast and jalapeño margaritas

My friend & I with 2 children had a pleasant late lunch with drinks. My friend (who is the most diplomatic peraon I know) went to the bar to purchase another drink. Sadly, the rude barman refused her ( she just told him she was next to be served) Even a barmaid agreed with her. However, he refused to serve her saying she was awkward (which I add she never is) . So after spending upwarda of £60 we left. YOU need to re-train this very nasty barman.

The food is good, but the service is terrible. Even with a reservation, you feel almost invisible to the staff, as if you're an inconvenience to them.

We spent two days in London after a recent Northern European cruise. We wanted our final meal in London to reflect traditional, local offerings and made our way to the Duke of Sussex. As it was a beautiful evening, we opted for dining on the patio. Roland was our waiter, and we were very pleased with his recommendations as well as his friendly yet professional demeanor. The setting, service, and meal were all wonderful. It was a perfect way to wrap up our trip.

Beautiful place, great atmosphere and a lovely place to go for a drink. The menu reads well, just ok on the taste buds.

Spent a lovely evening here with family. Great atmosphere and service. Unfortunately left expensive prescription glasses behind. However, Heather and staff were brilliant. Went out of her way to reunite me with glasses. Iam not local and she had them posted to me. Thank you all and would definitely recommend a visit to anyone travelling to London.

Just had dinner hear and the service and food were elite! Looked super busy but food and drinks came out real speedy. Had an awesome server who was onto it - Thank you Reece - which was good. Best place I’ve been to so far in the UK (from NZ) so definitely recommend!!

With competition stiff in London, where there is a restaurant and pub every 100ft, you would think businesses would love Patrons coming to spend their money. Not this place. Totally unorganized, ZERO hospitality and an utter mess. I don’t review much, but when it’s bad, it has to be very bad. No one seated us, got water only after asking a server who passed us a dozen times prior. Then…we sat. And waited…and waited…and waited. Not ever seeing a waiter looking in our direction to even try and flag them down. Nope, this was not the place for us. We got up and left…i certain they didn’t notice, because they certainly didn’t care. Word of advice, maybe have some sort of organization to where you greet your customers see them in a location to where a server knows that they’re new and they’re there to order food and drinks. Seems pretty remedial, but that did not happen here. This, on my wife’s birthday no less. What a shame. Spend your money elsewhere.

Very nice place, with attentive service and good atmosphere. Me and my friends all had fish and chips and it was crispy, not too oily, fresh, and delicious. We booked a table outside and I must say they have one of the prettier outdoor seating I've ever seen considering it's so close to a high-traffic city area. We went on a regular Tuesday evening, so I was expecting for the place to be a little empty, but I couldn't be more wrong! The place was buzzing, and because they've spaced the tables sensibly, we enjoyed the lively crowd without being packed like sardines. Very recommended spot, and do yourself a favour: book in advance!

Bit overpriced for what it is- seems to cater primarily to the nearby hotels. Would come back for a beer to sit outside, but would eat elsewhere. Food is very good, but you can get better close by.

Been before but the venue location suited us all travel wise. Great day for weather and good seating outside in the warm. Always enjoyed the beer and food here, all of which choices are great. Served by Heather who had great humour and really seemed to go out of her way to look after us. It isn't hard to be friendly and polite to people but so few do. She was the exception. Well done Heather, an asset.

Great pub, amazing selection. Massive outdoor area in front and side of the pub. The atmosphere is amazing, people will stand around as tables get too busy. The bar itself it to crowded and small to serve this massive number of people, could be a long wait between pints. Also had a great cocktail selection

Pasta portions were super small. Were asked to pay upon ordering outside. Overpriced but convenient location.

Waitress misunderstood the order and had to retake it. When brought to the table she handed the wrong alcoholic drinks to the guests who ordered non-alcoholic ones and didn't realise until she brought the remainder of the drinks, by which time they had already started to drink them.

What a gem of a pub.....few minutes walk from Waterloo Station.....hidden under the trees which provided shade and a secluded area to catch up with friends.... Food was amazing....highly recommend the fish finger sandwich....and our waitress Heather was brilliant.....funny, friendly and attentive..... Will definitely be back

This pub is in an excellent location, it is extremely popular so reservations are highly recommended. The staff were all polite, friendly and thoughtful. We received wonderful service all evening. The food was absolutely amazing. Compliments to all staff in the kitchen, our food was on time, hot and very tasty. I recommend the scotch egg starter and the Guiness pie! Really great place, excellent customer service!

Super busy for the England match making it hard to get to the bar (not the pubs fault obviously) but the barmen were on the ball and got people served quickly. Decent Guinness, good outside space

Service is a bit slow from waiters taking orders to food being derved. However, the food was delicious, fresh, and worth the money. Sunday roast is definitely a win here!!
