Food was very nice Scallops and crab salad for starters filled by Sirloin Steak and Chicken Terrine but hazelnut tart was really sweet and waiting staff did not know how to make an Irish Coffee but the Maitre D came to the rescue and even though we did not ask he removed the coffees and dessert from our bill and provided us with two correctly made Irish Coffees so I have to say I was well impressed with the service overall I would definitely eat here again

We were 15 minutes late for our 6 pm booking but this wasn’t a problem for the restaurant. We had the £25 pre theatre 2 course menu. Very tasty food, although my roasted chicken breast was a little dry, but overall it was still very good. Table service was great. Lovely waitress. As it was pre theatre we asked for prompt service, which we got. Nice and quiet so we could chat comfortably. Definitely recommend.

Nice venue but the food is not good. Scallops were tiny and overcooked, steak was tough. Staff were apologetic, and the wine was good, but we won't be back.

Absolutely terrific - the scallop starter was delicious and I had an amazing beef bourginon with some dauphinoise. Staff were friendly and attentive. We shall definitely be back.

This is the most unfair restaurant in the area in terms of points. They prepare and serve samples of different cuisines in accordance with all the criteria of those cuisines. The ambiance is also very romantic.

The meal was very nice and the service was good, however, and I accept that waitresses are there to see more, but we were told that the side orders were only small and not enough for two persons and we there ordered a second one. When they arrived this was not the case and one would have been enough, and we therefore left half of each, my question is, why lie to us?

Perfection! The whole experience was 5 star from the warm welcome, comfortable seating, friendly efficient service, delicious food, ambiance and value. A special mention to Christina our waitress who really added to our fabulous experience.

The breakfast buffet is fabulous for families with any member with a gluten sensitivity. The manager, Louis, attends to the needs closely of anyone that cannot eat off of the standard buffet. Every morning we dined, he ensured that I had an enjoyable meal while my family could enjoy the buffet with many delectable foods. My kiddos LOVE the hot chocolate and cannot say enough about it. My favorite gluten free delight that they prepare custom is oatmeal with fresh berries made with oat milk. They often have gluten free muffins as well which are yummy.

Not actually French food but …. Watch out for bread with your meal. They charged 4.5 pounds but when I spoke to manager she removed the charge. Baked Camembert was small but tasty. Onion soup was great.

Very good time in a cozy place where the team takes great care to ensure that you have an excellent time. The whole meal is delicious and the seasonings are spot on. The rating of 4/5 is totally unjustified so above all make your own opinion by going to try Joël’s cuisine)… it’s a real recommendation 😉

It was my daughter’s graduation and the meal was a perfect way to end the day. Our waitress was absolutely first class - couldn’t do enough for us.

This was an overall exceptional experience. My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary, and everything from the atmosphere, the service, and the food were all outstanding. We were treated well, had a long and delicious dinner, and I don't know how much lore praise I can give. Overall, it was the perfect highlight to our anniversary.

Great service and choice of menu. They do a group (8) set menu which was good value just a shame it wasn’t an option for all diners.

The lamb rump and purple potato was absolutely disgusting !!! I never complain but I had to this time as it was so revolting. The lamb rump was 60% fat and the gloopy potato was foul and had the texture of drying wallpaper paste. My partners vegetarian dish was supposed to be ratatouille but I’m afraid it was very much an egg plant (aubergine for us Brits) salad. The starter was scallops which were nicely cooked but the sauce was bitter and extremely lemony. The almond tart for dessert was lovely though. Sorry to sound so negative but apart from the dessert it was pretty bad and I will never go there again … Natalia the waitress was lovely and if it wasn’t for her we would have left earlier … bless her for being so understanding

Brasserie Joel is situated in a hotel and quite a few of the diners were residents. It thus felt somewhat impersonal. The menu was standard brasserie fare, with nothing exciting or original, but plenty of tried-and-trusted favourites to choose from. Our waitress was on her first day (which she did apologise for) but spoke virtually no English and didn’t have a clue about the menu, so we could only order by pointing at the menu. When she brought someone to help (a manager I think), he still failed to inform me that the main ingredient of a dish I asked about was cheese (describing it as a Gazpacho). Ultimately the food was well cooked and decently presented, with a tarte tatin being particularly delicious. Next to the restaurant there is a nice bar, which was perfect for a digestif. However, the price, at £90/head (including a £65 bottle of fairly ordinary Pouilly Fume) seemed very steep for a brasserie and there are similar restaurants in the area at a far lower price point.

Really enjoyed the meal and the staff were lovely. It was a special meal for my wifes birthday and we would return.

The scallops and the beef bourginon were beautiful. The tart Tarim for pudding was good but not as good as the other 2 courses

The beef bourguignon was superb, though the wine and cocktails selection was somewhat limited. Nevertheless, the dessert, particularly the dessert cocktail, was absolutely fantastic.

The dishes are good but not very filling. The service is long. The room is noisy.

We arrived late due to our flight from the US, they took us in and sat us and never rushed us. The food was outstanding, a great way to start our trip.

The restaurant was quite full at 7:30pm with large parties and noisy children. In fairness it was Valentine's Day. Whilst it is always nice to see families with children dining together the somewhat intimate ambience the brasserie seems to target does not seem best suited to young diners. Possibly the problem is that hotel does not offer a more suitable restaurant option for those with youngsters. The bar area serves food but is rather large and not exactly cosy. The food was OK. The onion soup was extremely tasty but the cheese in it was surprisingly over generous making it a struggle to eat. The wine list is as you would expect in a London hotel, was quite expensive but with some excellent options. I made the mistake of asking for a brief pause between starters and main which as it always inevitably does, turned into an unacceptably long delay.

The decor is dark and I suppose it's to be for nighttime but it mainly comes off dark. Plenty of seating. Varied menu selection fir the food but very limited wines by the glass.

It's not worth paying £20 a day for breakfast not that much choice scrambled egg has an awful After taste you're much better off going elsewhere for something decent 👎

We stayed at the Parkplaza with this level, so we booked a table. We ordered the 3-course menu. Although the food was good, there was nothing exceptional about it. Replacing pork chops with chicken and fries is something I could order at any random pub as well. The ambiance is not really cozy, but perhaps we have different expectations on the continent.

Typical hotel restaurant. Slick. Pleasant enough but lacked atmos and overpriced.

Service in the restaurant was excellent. We were made to feel welcome and every attention to our needs was quickly attended to. The menu was good as was the wine list. All served with quiet efficiency and unobtrusive care. The help with my wife's gluten free diet was exceptional. Thank you very much.

We expected a restaurant with a nice view but there were no Windows at all. We thought it was very poorly decorated (not all actually) . It looked more of a cafeteria then a nice restaurant. However the food was good and service as well.

The restaurant ambiance was perfect and the level of attention we had from the staff was extraordinary. The food was amazing and, from beginning to the ending I felt very well looked after. The waiter waiting us was smiling and very attentive to small details. I will definitely return very soon.

A good if pricy place to eat before the theatre, opening from 5.30 p.m. 3-course set menu useful but went for the a la carte because only wanted starter and main courses. Good choice but quite expensive. Helpful that a green salad was provided to accompany the pasta even though not on the menu. Pan fried duck breast was pink and tasty but lacked a crispy skin. Service was excellent and gave us plenty of time to eat before the theatre.

Food was great but very disappointing that the restaurant was dark with no windows and views considering the hotel overall has great views. I asked for a table with a view so would have been nice to let customers know that there isn’t one.

We tested the Brasserie Joel on our 1st day of arrival in the Park Plaza hotel. Location is great, very convenient and quiet well decorated. However, the food is very average for quiet an extensive price ! The price is anticipated in those hotels of course but we expect a certain quality level and here, it is very medium one with classic Burgers you can find everywhere and a very poor Duck with no t great taste. In general we are using the hotel restaurant multiple times but here, it is is better walking 10mn around and find very good places to have Lunch/Dinner.

As a birthday celebration meal, unfortunately only half of our party thoroughly enjoyed their food. The other half found it slightly disappointing for the caliber of the restaurant - there was little crab in the crab linguine and the linguine was very floury; the red meat dishes very delicious. On a positive the waiter was very good, attentive and efficient.

We celebrated my wife's birthday at Brasserie Joel and it was a big success in terms of food, service and hospitality. I recommend that you try their beef bourguignon and the rump of lamb. The servers were very courteous and accommodating even we knew that they were busy. The whole team was just an orchestra when it comes to their task. I can only commend their manager for this. We will definitely be back before Christmas.

My wife our daughter and I had dinner here last night. For starter I ordered Prawn Cocktail but received a glass of shrimp with lettuce and one prawn on top. For main course I had the Lamb Shank and my wife and daughter had the Rib Eye Steak. We were all satisfied with the main courses. I ordered English Breakfast and cold milk but hot milk was served. I mention this to the waitress and she replaced the hot milk with cold milk but when I put it in my tea it looked like hot milk. The waitress told me she got it from the machine so there is obviously an issue. This restaurant is located in the Park Plaza Hotel where we are guests for 6 nights so we would have dined here other nights if we were satisfied with our experience in this restaurant

Thea, our server, was attentive, polite and simply lovely. The beetroot appetizer was perfectly acidic and extremely well balanced with the micro greens. Delicious dish!

Very good food. We had the burrata salad as a starter, which was amazing. The cheese was very fresh and the tomato mixture was an excellent add to the cheese. Main course, I had the rib eye and my husband had the black cabbage pasta. Both were perfected dishes with a perfect balance of ingredients. The pasta was cooked al dente and my steak to perfection. Service was phenomenal and I would say, the best we have received in a long time. Attentive but not over bearing. Food was picked up from the kitchen as soon as it was ready as it was piping hot when it came to our table. As a red seal chef and being in the industry for a very long time, I would recommend coming here for a good meal. Treat yourself!

We came to Brasserie Joel because we were staying at the Park Plaza Westminster, were very jet-lagged, and needed something close for the group (which included two kids). The food was good. My kids had plain pasta and Mac n' Cheese, my husband and I had ratatouille, and other guests ordered boeuf bourguignon and roast chicken. It wasn't the most incredible thing I have had but was good overall. Was disappointed in the service. Just did not feel well attended to and almost felt like we were an inconvenience to our waitress. She was much more responsive to other tables around us - not sure if its because we had kids - but didn't resonate well with me. Not sure if I would return back.

The Bavette was a delicious steak—tender, juicy and full of flavor. It was prepared just as described. Our warm, personable server made our dining experience memorable and we would go back next time we travel through London.

I booked Joels for my sons 18th birthday as he was staying in the hotel. He had a fantastic time with the restaurant surprising him with a lovely tri of deserts with happy birthday on it free of charge. Lovely touch and not expected. Thank you so much, we will definately be back again.

Restaurant is completely independent of the hotel and you can’t make a room charge unless you’ve left a deposit with the hotel reception. You’d think a better arrangement could be made. Food and ambience is average.

Good Food and a friendly and professional service.

Food was expensive and poor quality. My lamb was extremely fatty with what was described as roast potato but was actually a hard potato slice. My friend had a giant unseasoned loin of pork, she also had what was described as roast potatoes but were undercooked cubes. Sides were good. Menu still have Christmas desserts. Staff were a little over eager but generally good. I’d never eat here again.
