Second time I've ordered from here, walked up to collect it this time, cosy little pub, plenty of T.Vs, and delicious chinese too. Don't miss out.

Have had numerous Chinese takeaways from here over recent years as it’s always been really good. Our favourites are the Singapore noodles and the satay chicken 😋 Have enjoyed a few drinks here and loved the live band. The energy and happiness was contagious. Will return regularly……

The Duke was a very friendly place, good atmosphere and the Bar Staff were excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely pub, Previously called 'The Dude of Cambridge' I believe it won 'Best pub in Marlow' recently, well deserved. A hidden gem, worth the 3 minute walk from the High Street. Excellent oriental food ,(no delivery). Large outside seating area, large screen TV,bar snacks, karaoke,traditional pub games and Live music.Convivial atmosphere, nice place for a quiet libation. The landlord ,Steven isn't the only local radio presenter who frequents here. If you're looking for a local place with welcoming staff , this is the one for you.Gets busy in the evenings and weekends. Oh and dogs welcome. 😎

This place is the hidden gem of Marlow, Steve’s is the best landlord out there makes sure everyone feels at home. Great quality beer and a decent Chinese always made to feel welcome 🥰

Great pub, Wo Mei takeaway excellent

First time trying the chinese food here.have to say wasn't very impressed.got my order wrong twice.ordered a spring roll which was £3.90 was very small and the filling was only cabbage which was strange as spring rolls normally have some beansprouts in them and meat .also ordered Singapore rice noodles although the potion is a good size the noodles were very dry to the point I didn't want to eat them.i won't be ordering for here again I'll stick to my usual that is much better!

Decided to have a good wander around Marlow whilst property hunting, dropped in on this place and decided to have some drinks. Looks great from the outside, walked in and were soon seated. Appreciate it is a pub, but when we asked for a coffee as part of our round of drinks, this was met with a firm no. TBH the place needs a good clean. The table was sticky, there was a hole in the ceiling, cobwebs over the windows and the toilets just stank of paint.

The Chinese meal was superb, one of best. Highly recomend.

Generally a good pub. Unexpectedly large space at the back for bands etc. The food smelt amazing but I didn't have any. I was shocked at how expensive the non alcoholic drinks were.

We ordered a takeaway for the family on Thursday evening… it was available to pick up, at 20 minutes notice… The starters were good and we especially liked the house special garlic ribs… The dry shredded chilli beef was not very crispy, maybe it should be served separately to the sauce? However the chicken balls, served in a paper bag, with separate sauce, were very crispy; just like the old days…. Dishes had a reasonable amount of spice/chilli which was good, esp the Singapore noodles… Will we order again? Yes…

Lovely pub located in a peaceful residential area of Marlow. Nice and clean. Prompt service. Spacious outside sitting area with interesting features and pictures, tasteful and slightly retro design which I liked. A pleasant surprise to see framed flyers, posters and relics of historic music events which keep you interested. The owner must have a good taste in music. Absolutely fabulous Chinese food which we all enjoyed while sitting outside. Perfect partnership of a pub and Chinese food. It was a very pleasant surprise to visit this pub and I hope to return again one day.

The Duke. The best pub in Marlow. For good reason: a true welcome from the owner every time, brilliant proper pub surroundings and the best food going. They pour beer properly too and actually care about you being there. Viva the Duke!

How this place was voted number 1 pub in Marlow is a mystery.Visited early morning and toilets were disgusting,skid marks on toilets had obviously not been cleaned from the previous evening. Visit at your peril.

A really great example of an independent pub firing on all cylinders. This place is constantly evolving to meet the needs of its many customers Steve and his team deliver hospitality really well. The premises are always being upgraded from the old run down pub it used to be (years ago) and a great regular live music offering, always draws me back in. It’s a pub but somehow it’s just different from the rest. In the best kind of way. Amazing job guys n gals. 👌🏻👌🏻 (Oh and that’s not even mentioning the incredible and highly regarded Chinese food on offer)

Great pub with a fantastic atmosphere

We had read good reviews about this place so thought we would go for a pint before a family lunch. Admittedly it was at midday on a Sunday, but the place looked like it had closed on Saturday and someone had pitched up bang on midday on the Sunday. The ashtrays were still over flowing from the night before, the floor was filthy, there was glass on the floor in the toilet, as well as tissues on the floor. The tables were still dirty from the day before. And yet somehow the beer was good. Used to be nice years ago so we gave it a go again after some nice comments on ‘Positively Marlow’ but it doesn’t look like the cleaners had been in since then. Maybe don’t open Sunday if that is all the effort that is put in.

Been here multiple times for takeaway and eat in with never an issue! They’re a true local gem, yes they’re busy but you’re always in for great fresh food served with a smile. Nice pub bar with interesting artwork well worth visiting!

Steve the landlord arranged the rear tent area to be reserved for my birthday celebration. A lovely spacious area for larger parties with a stage.The staff went above and beyond offering table service and they had decorated the area with balloons, lights and great music to give it a real party feel. Friendly staff, cold ciders, nice garden, and bangin’ Chinese food! A winner all around

Food was delicious, staff were very friendly as was the atmosphere. The only negative was the lack of choice in no-added-sugar drinks. We will definitely return though :)

A nice basic estate type pub, beer fine & an excellent Chinese evening menu with takeaway option. A large well kept garden.

Friendly and modern. Bar contactless payment with a good variety of drinks. Beer garden spacious . Nice to visit if in the area.

If they like the cut of your jib, you may get free peanuts Good smoking area to rear. Happy to welcome tradesmen in their work clothes

Friday afternoon visit after work, not very busy so plenty of room in the beer garden.

Food was nice but menu that they have on the website is not reflective of the actual prices so when you arrive they just charge you more. Bit of a scam really. Can't see anywhere else where that would be acceptable. When we told them they just carried on asking for the higher price and ignored the comments we had made. Would not recommend

The best Chinese! Just had a takeaway and was brilliant, Sea Salt chicken, 1/4 Duck, Double cooked Pork & Special fried rice, all superb and very tasty, and served on time would recommend

I am a local and a regular at The Duke. I have been here long enough to know that it has had a troubled history for the last 20 years. Previous landlords have never really got on top of the potential that the pub and its garden offers...…until now!! Steve has done a brilliant job! During the last troubling, pandemic years he has created a haven of friendly hospitality that has become a centre of the community for many people. Offering flexible spaces throughout the pub where you can watch sport, eat good Chinese food and listen to live music. It is fair to say that everyone has a place to enjoy here. If I am being truthful, I am seriously in two minds whether to post this review. If I do, it could mean that more people will come, like it and then come more often. Not sure this is MY desired outcome! If I do post this review it would only be to give the well deserved kudos to Steve and the rest of the Duke Team. Keep up the good work, folks!

My daughter suggested we come to the Duke to celebrate out wedding anniversary as my wife loves Chinese food. Wow. We are a foodie family and ordered a whole selection of starters. Every starter was simply divine. We loved every one of them. And the mains were to die for. So much flavour. I have been looking for a good Chinese near Marlow once the Lane End place shut down many years ago. I was so so pleased to have discovered this . Ling and your team .. thank you for serving up such wonderful food. The great Rebellion beer , superb food, friendly service , our celebration was just perfect. As someone rlsd has said here, best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Thank you Ling and team and the Duke staff.

We hadn’t been in the Duke for a long time. It’s been updated and the welcome was warm and friendly. It had a nice feel to the place and a bit of a buzz. We also decided to eat here too and that was a lovely treat. Hot and tasty Chinese (takeaway style menu) food. Yum yum!

Either the prices have gone up or I was overcharged 10 percent more than the menu prices. Otherwise nice food.

Possibly the best chinese food I have had, big statement but true... Everything that was served tasted fresh and delicious. The pork, beef and chicken cooked to perfection, the beef just melted. The salt and chilli chicken i would highly recommend as well as the set menu for four people. I still cant believe what great value this is! And I should say served in a fabulous pub that i grew up in.... many happy memories and worth driving from Southampton to visit. Well done guys, was lovely being home!

Pub: Nice pub location away from the others, supporting North-East Marlow. Garden is well covered, drinks are good. Lacks pub food though. Chinese Food: Pub does do amazing Chinese food. Staff are great and it's very quick! Takeaway too.

Brilliant night out! Superb service using the Round App. The landlord's attention to customer service is some of the beat I've experiemced. Bonus is the chinese food. It is amazing and great value for money.

Absolutely poor quality of service, no commonsense at all, We come down to Duke on Sunday afternoon, we also ask if food is part of service today and all been confirmed yes to us over the phone! Staff costomer service is poor, no knowledge of menu and we was not notified that food be starting back at 5.30pm Will not coming back again

The app works well and gives a discount on drinks using a voucher code. Garden heaters make it comfortably warm even after dark. A difficult time for pubs and I appreciate the efforts they've gone to. Unfortunately careless smokers lost the Duke a couple of stars.

This is simply the best pub in Marlow at present. The new owners have thought everything through in order to meet the demands of the post Covid-world. Very safe in terms of health & safety measures put in place, very comfortable (loads of outdoor heaters on the decks - and additional blankets to borrow if you're still cold!), and a great atmosphere. There's a real mix of ages, from 18 to 80, and everyone is made to feel welcome. It's also home to an excellent Chinese food kitchen and you can either eat in or takeaway. Our go-to pub :-) N.B. It's getting ever more popular, so do book a table in advance.

£40 takeaway meal for 3 people looked unappetising tasted very bland I think the worst I have had recently.

We had a lockdown takeaway from here last week and wondered why we hadn't thought of it before. We ordered on the phone and picked up at the designated time. Food was fresh and of very good quality at sensible prices. What more can you ask for? Recommended!

We had a Chinese takeaway from the Duke and it was lovely. Great set menu with duck. Varied and flavoursome. We used to order a Chinese from Cookham and it’s great we don’t have to leave Marlow for high quality Chinese. Can’t wait to order again!

Just had my second takeaway from here, fantastic is the only word to describe it! Spicy Chicken, 1/4 Duck, Special rice and double cooked pork, freshly cooked on time would highly recommend!

Had a lovely Friday night here yesterday - lovely Chinese banquet, great service and good beer. Owner suggest we moved table as one with comfier seats came free - small touch, but welcome.

This is a reflection of the Chinese not the pub!Two weeks ago when we got our food home we were without the rice. Last night we were minus the chicken wings we’d ordered for our granddaughter although we had the sweet chilli sauce. My husband walked back over to be told we’d never ordered them even though we had the sauce & our Bill included them. Won’t be back!

The Chinese food here is rally wonderful but the host is really a very rude person so beware if you have to say anything about having to wait for food etc. My partner was told to either leave the bar area or leave the pub altogether. The Host will NOT take any critical remarks pleasantly. After this we shall not be going there again even though the food as said before is very good. Another person awaiting his take away even came up to us and said that he thought the host was excessively rude and it was totally un-necesary of him!!!!!!

My wife and I were exploring Marlow and made a detour from the town centre up to The Duke. Well decorated and served Rebellion beer - perfect.

Nice traditional pub recently refurbished, good range of beers and ales, gins etc. Nice beer garden and covered external seating good for parties.

We love the Duke. Have been going since Heidi first took it over and we are so impressed by what she’s done with it. Good selection of beers, friendly atmosphere and lovely garden. Heidi has converted an old, outdated pub into a modern and welcoming drinking establishment. We’ve been drinking there for a few years now and we’ve always been welcomed warmly (even when we’ve been a bit rowdy) and since our daughter has been born, we’ve still gone there and still been welcomed Children and dogs are welcome (all on leads, under supervision and well behaved, of course) Regular live music, every Sunday and at least one live band on a Friday/Saturday once a month. Juke box, dart board, pool table, garden and friendly welcoming staff. And they serve Rebellion. What more could you want from a local Marlow pub?!

Came in on a Saturday night with my partner and the front room was warm, busy and they had good music playing at a sensible volume. Drinks were expensive but tasted nice. We sat at the front window for a couple of hours before getting the Chinese takeaway... it was the best Chinese I’ve had locally in a long time! So fresh, full of authentic flavour (not too sweet and was naturally coloured rather than bright orange!) and felt much healthier, the chefs clearly know what they’re doing and we will 100% be back for more, highly recommend.

Been going in for the last 5 months and we have noticed that a lot of the locals now give it a 'wide berth'. Better if you go to the Ship on West Street.

Just stopped in for a couple of well kept beers and very reasonable malt whiskies. Got a take away which was best Chinese I've had for a long time. Home cooked great ingredients and cooking. Everything fresh clean and not full of sugar. Amazing! Had salt n chilli wings, beautiful duck, crispy beef which was t sweet orange rubbish but home cooked dark flavoursome loveliness..impressed . Great outdoors n in ..what a find!

Chinese food cooked and served here. Food very good if a little expensive. All freshly cooked and good take away menu which is different from the in house menu. I had sea bass which was lovely. Our other friends had chicken and lamb. Most enjoyable evening. Landlady Heidi is lovely too. All in all very different from when we were last in Marlow 6 years ago. The pub was called The Duke of Cambridge run by John and Tracy. They have moced to a B & B in France and the Duke is totally changed.
