We have used this Chinese take away many times over several years and the food is always very good. It is very difficult to get through on the phone to order - especially on a Friday night - so we usually go in person. The wait is only about 10-15 minutes if you go as soon as they open. Warning - you can only pay in cash bit the food is lovely and is served quickly with a smile. Try it

The food is great and the portions you get are very good for the money. It is the only Chinese Takeaway i use. In 2024 the food and portion size is still great, the prices have increased but still worth the money.

They forgot to deliver one of the food choices but still charged for it! The duck with cashew nuts was a case of Hunt the duck! Full of fat and skin!

Ordered from Taipan Downley and was extremely disappointed. Firstly ordered the chicken starter which was soggy and luke warm. Paid 25p per dish for extra chillies and the food did not have extra chillies. I rang Taipan to explain the issue with the food and that it was completely lacking flavour I was told that I should expect this as they were extremely busy! Even if the restaurant is busy this shouldn’t be an excuse for the poor quality of food and service. The man on the phone did not apologise for the quality of food and continued to blame it on the fact they were busy. I am not happy and will not be ordering from here again!

Very disappointed as ordered salt and pepper chicken and was asked was that the wings you want and we said no,the chicken breast,only to get home to find wings and on top of that they had chilli on them which neither of us can stand.Live too far away to take back so not happy

Ordered from Taipan as this is my regular Chinese takeaway. Today we were extremely disappointed with the service and quality of food. Firstly we were told it would take 1hr 15mins, having called them after that time to ask how long the food will be I was told it’s on the way. The food arrived 35 minutes later! We started eating the crispy chicken pieces which were completely soggy, cold and tasteless. We then tried the remainder of the order and again it was luke warm. When I rang back to explain the dissatisfaction, the call taker was clueless stating the driver was to blame. I explained that the quality of dishes were not per usual standard and he just went silent. He then spoke with other staff members in the background who then started to shout quite loud. He stated they could nothing about the bas experience we encountered. Not impressed with the service.

Best Chinese takeaway in Wycombe but let down tonight by delivery times. Ordered at 6pm still waiting at 9pm. Rang to find out how much longer and told 25mins then phoned back after 30mins and told 10mins, asked have the left yet a told no, order cancelled. They need to sort out.

First time ordering from them and instantly regretted. We've waited almost 3 hours for our order to arrive, to discover one item was wrong. Called to clarify with the staff which was very unapologetic and unpleasant. We had to just accept it basically. Food was okay, but for this kind of treatment towards a customer put us off and will never order from them again. Treat your customers right. Do not recommend, save your money and time and go somewhere else.

Absolutely delicious food. Staff in the store are always friendly and polite. Can understand why people are always recommending Taipan. Not our local but more than happy to drive across town to visit here. Definitely the best Chinese takeaway the town has to offer.

Had to wait 20 mins. Ordered again 6 months later to be told pick up in half....yep you guessed it lost our order again. Most of the food we got wasn’t too bad apart from the salt and pepper chicken which wasn’t even fully cooked. We bit into it and it tasted like rubber and didn’t even want to eat it as it just didn’t even feel cooked. Really disappointed as we heard good things about this place but clearly those things weren’t true.

Decent Chinese takeaway, it's the only one that'll deliver to Lacey Green. Chilli beef is always a favourite of ours. Shame they don't take card payments, who carries cash these days!?

Absolutely terrible we ordered a delivery they said 40 to 45 min that’s good then they called us saying they can not find us so in the end we went up and got it. We started eating it was grim no taste. My meal was salty as hell rice was dry. We only went there because or other to places are closed for holiday. Sorry but definitely back to magic wok and mings for us

I have ordered several times last few years and they always get my order wrong as at least two dishes usually don't arrive but no refund . Ring and complain they will tell you it’s on the computer for next time but try and place an order and ask for your missing items suddenly the main guy don’t known what you are talking about and become very rude and condescending . Had enough of this rubbish cheap and cheerful food is ok nothing to get excited about but awful service and 💩 attitude . I will pay a bit more and get my full order won’t go back again , definitely go elsewhere that’s not running this scam

My first stop when visiting friends is always here. Fantastic quality and love the Chicken and Beef curry mixed. This is my favourite Chinese you can also tell this is a local favourite because it is always busy

Well, have been to this place a total of 5 times, first time was good, nothing special but value for money was alright and I couldn’t fault them so naturally we thought lets go back, then second time not amazing, asked for half a duck to find shards of bone in the food. Most places have the bone in the pot which isn’t an issue, but shards of bone which is hard to go through all the shredded meat to decipher wasn’t amazing. Third time ordered beef in black bean sauce - beef was as tough as a leather shoe so i stopped getting that option. Fourth visit decided to opt for chilli beef as the other two disappointed me and my partner to find the smell and taste of fish which i am sure was due to frying in the same oil as fish which ruined that food. Fifth time (probably thinking why bother due to the previous visits, well sometimes rough patches can happen to businesses especially due to covid so always give places another chance plus the value of food is a factor) was today, to be quite frank I didn’t order anything, 6pm rang to order 2 portions of ribs and a chow mein. To be told can’t collect until 9pm. That is absurd! How can it take 3 hours to COLLECT a simple order??? Finally to add the last 3 visits has consisted of gradual terrible customer service. Today and the time before has taken a total of 1.5 hours of ringing time as they don’t answer the phone. When you do get through the response from front of house greeting is as joyful as talking to dry old cardboard in other words you get more joy from a pull bearer at a funeral. Safe to say I won’t be going back there. A total shame as they could do a lot better if they change their staff and standards as the first visit was good.

I ordered Chicken Satay and it did not taste as it should. The peanut sauce was flavourless and gloopy. The chicken had a slimey coating. The food unfortunately went in the bin as I found it inedible. They don't accept card so had to go to the cash point. Too many people were waiting in the shop and some without masks. I won't order here again, that's for sure!

Excellent food great value for money

We were recommended this takeaway by our daughter who has used it quite often and raves about it. We ordered Set Meal C for three persons to be shared amongst 4 of us. As we live within 2 miles it was free delivery. We were advised maximum 35 minutes waiting time but it arrived in 20 minutes. The food was really good. Massive spring rolls, tasty sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, chow menu, Hong Kong beef in oyster sauce, pork with mushrooms and onions. Plus a bag of prawn crackers. 4 of us struggled to eat it all because the portions are so generous. We thought it was first class food, delivered promptly and fantastic value at £22.50. Brilliant.

I ordered sweet and saur chicken in sted I got chicken with peas onions and sweet sous the chicken not been coated in anything simple fried in a pan that not sweet and saur chicken Black bean sous not great at all chicken nuddles don't have anymore same test as before very disappointed with my order .looks like the shef is changed the test is not same as before

We normally have our takeout delivered ,we r in stokenchurch and not many places deliver here .we have been using the thipan for about 10 years and we have never had a bad meal ,always piping hot ,always tasty and fresh .del people are always lovley .can get very busy when phoning ,you just have to be patient ,it will be worth waiting for xx

First order from Taipan tonight. It was a long wait for delivery but absolutely worth it as the food was fantastic. Every item we ordered was some of the best we've had in a long time. We'd definitely recommend you try here, we'll be ordering again. The delivery driver was very friendly too!

It's very difficult to get through on the phone on a Saturday evening and when you do the waits are usually long. Much better to just turn and order then wait for perhaps 10mins. Quality is generally good and prices are reasonable. Chips are surprisingly good for a Chinese takeaway.

Food is fabulous and delicious. Menu choice is great. Great value for money. Only down side that stops us using them so much is they don't take card payments. Just don't use cash anymore.

Great Chinese food with very generous portions. Had a special meal for 2. Sweet and sour pork ,beef and chicken dishes.Ideal for the evening with enough for lunch next day. Delivery very prompt. Will use again .

Positives: - Portions are great - best ever prawn toast - good portion of hoi sin and good value(£1.60) Negatives - even ordering over 2hrs in advance can mean waiting at the shop for an additional 15 mins past the pick up time. - dont go for the satay, very watery sauce and not nutty enough.(soya orientalmuch better)

I’m so glad I gave this place a try. Tasty chilli beef and all their dishes have been nice so far. Also they serve plenty of tofu. Be aware they don’t take card so you need cash. Usually deliver to me in half an hour. Great service all round

We ordered food at 7:30pm after waiting two hours for the food they said they ran out of rice and we have to wait an additional half an hour food. After 3 hrs no food no call to notify us of the delay. Horrendous customer service.

Had food from here once before and collected it, it was good decided to order instead was promised a half hour delivery time and ended up waiting an hour and 45 minutes and had to ring 3 times just to make sure I actually got my food and still had to pay for delivery wouldn't trust their delivery time or their phones

Have used this take away a few times now and it has always been satisfactory. It is good value for money and they only charge £2 for outside a 2 mile radius. Food is good, have had the odd dish I wouldn't have again but hey....... Both deliveries I have had have been cold but heated up in microwave OK. Set menus not bad either. Worth try I guess but be prepared to wait a little.

I personally think and believe this is the best Chinese take away in the whole of High Wycombe district. On busy days be prepared to wait for a long while if it's busy but I can assure you it will be so worth the wait! I know of people waiting upto 2 hours because it's just so incredibly busy on certain special days but those who know what to expect would not hesitate to wait. Never ate such awesome food not even in Chinatown!

Such good food and such big portions, value for money, only down side is have to pick up as just outside delivery zone. But still worth going up for collection, curry sauce I so nice from here and the chips are so goog, everything we order is spot on.
