Took 2 hours to serve our food, even then came in 2 parts so we couldn't eat together. Food was greasy

Service was 10/10 was served by Lewis and Ella and both were super friendly and helpful and worked great together! The Guinness was on point with a perfect shamrock, never had a better Guinness in my life! Would definitely recommend and the two servers were fab! Will be back.

I've not been for a number of years but heard it's under new management. I didn't recognise the place, the beer was great, the food was fantastic and the toilets were immaculate. I found the staff mega friendly but professional. I will go again soon.

Was really disappointed with the service. Have been here numerous times and always had a positive experience. This time my friend was served his food and l got mine over 20 minutes later. Defeats the idea of having lunch together. Wasn’t even given an apology to say sorry about the wait

Popped in for some food with my family the other day, staff were very welcoming (especially James, the new manager) and we were able to find our reserved table almost instantly. Food is affordable yet delicious. Would definitely come here again, would recommend 👍

Very fair priced drinks, manager is very nice and also very hawt, his brother though is abit lacking in the looks department. Staff is very nice and friendly. Highly recommend as a place to eat and drink on a Friday and Saturday night.

Always enjoy our visits to Duck in the Pond. Bar staff helpful and friendly. Good choice of Ales to try and other drinks. Food always delicious from a full Sunday Roast to a litebite of a sandwich. Comfortable and good service to enjoy anytime of the day.

Tried the beef and red wine lasagne — delicious! Comes with a side salad and garlic bread. The ambience is great and the staff are very friendly. They did ask for my ID which made me feel very young, haha. Overall, very positive experience! Will definitely come back for a pint.

A nice family pub. However, I've noticed that the selection of ales has reduced over the last year. Also, what has happened to the food service in the last few weeks? A minimum wait of 1 hour for your food to be served. Hopefully, this situation will get better as the pub grub here is good. Get these things fixed and you have a really good boozer again. March 2024 update - My first time back in here for ages. Much better food service, my order came within 15 minutes. Well done for the improvement! 👍🏾

Apart from the delicious food, which we all enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks and service were excellent. It being very local it's actually become our local, yesterday was my third visit this week. It's the ideal place to take or simply join friends for lunch or dinner. It has a large varied menu to suit all tastes and the drinks selection is exceptional, very good wine. Last October I sadly held my dear husband's wake there and they did me and my family proud. An extra shout out to Tina who was so kind and helpful at that sad time. Please stay as good as you've become.

We booked and arranged a buffet for 30+ people after my dad's funeral. It could not have been more perfect. The area was ready for us even though we arrived slightly early. The buffet was lovely and great selection for everyone. Everyone commented how much they enjoyed the food. Thankyou to everyone at Duck In Pond for looking after us xxx

Popped in for a quick dinner and a drink - very pleasantly surprised! Servers were very attentive and accommodating, excellent value for money. Cute touch to include chocolates with the tea/coffee - something you’d expect in a artsy cafe, so was impressed! Highly recommend if in the Harrow area - we will be back :)

Busy pub with limited parking space. Choice of food which is reasonable & one has got to be careful of not being overcharged for any drinks. 21.3.22 Management has changed & who need to become familiar with any offers being promoted on behalf of the pub! Friendly staff. 23.3.22 Apparently no staff to cook food & customers are kept waiting with dirty tables & bar! Unacceptable. No point in providing meal vouchers if they can't be used! Ridiculous. 17.7.22 Tasty duo roast lunch served on Sunday by friendly staff. Toilets 🚻 need to be kept clean & smelling fresh. 22.11.22 & 28.2.23 Tasty food served by friendly staff in ambient surroundings. Some items on the menu were not available! 29.4.33 The tables need cleaning & clearing up, as do the toilets! We have previously ordered takeaway, but we decided it is time to visit the place. Parking was free, food was delicious. We ordered calamari and nacos as a starters, Sunday roast with gammon and chicken and a desert. The staff was very friendly and food was truly amazing. I liked the atmosphere and we will definitely visit again. Another must go to place in Harrow !

20 minutes to take order at the bar...Main meal took 75 minutes to arrive and cutlery a further 10 minutes, avoid at all cost. Insufficient staff employed! New staff now and food has improved considerably. Much more enjoyable. Visited again, and staff were efficient and helpful. Food was great 👍

Very pleasant pub, very well located in the town of Harrow. You can spend a very pleasant time there in a friendly atmosphere both by taking advantage of the tables inside to eat or drink or also by taking advantage of the spaces set up outside. The prepared dishes are very good.

Great place for food. The giraffe in particular made us all laugh! I loved the pineapple and pork sandwiches best. James the manager is very good at accents and did a great impression of Simon cowell. Excellent!

Table service for visually impaired customers. Trays at the bar to carry large quantities of drink to the table. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, service with a smile most of the time. Food is a very high standard and alternative vegetables are offered in replacement to foods listed on the menu but not stocked.

We were greeted by Rahul at the door. He opened the door for my mother as she is disabled. The manager and bar staff also greeted us. Rahul not only served the food but chatted and visited us during our stay to make sure all was OK.

Rahul the waiter was very helpful, excellent service and friendly and approachable. We liked the atmosphere and the menu, but was very disappointed as the cauliflower cheese, my favourite dish was out of stock… 😭

It was far too hot and we asked for the fake open fire to be turnt off the manager said it was his policy to have it on and refused. We thought that this was terrible customer service.

We went to The Duck In The Pond for lunch as we were in that area so we decided to stop there for lunch for the first time. Had a very delicious breaded mushrooms for starrers, very tasty Sunday roast and a lovely apple pie. Portion sizes are good, the prices were reasonable for a three course meal. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend and would go again when in the area.

Great family pub... feels cosy warm & welcoming. Have been before and we as a family enjoy coming to eat at the duck and the pond . The staff are friendly and chatty , the pub and facilities are always clean. Good value for money.

Ordered the Vegan burger but found it had a meat odour. Seems as though they use the same grill as meat dishes? The cranberry juice tasted artificial and the lemonade had far too much gas leaving you feeling bloated.

All the staff are very friendly there and the food was great and my steak was cooked perfectly.

I popped to the Duck In The Pond with my husband and two friends for a New Year's day lunch. The food and atmosphere were great and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great visit.

Delicious food and happy environment

17 of us went here for our Christmas party. We booked a table for 2pm. Sadly we waited over 2 hours for our starters. It totally destroyed the atmosphere as everyone was really hungry.

Since summer we’ve been coming to the duck during lunch with our staff always really good food open fires cozy feel - (large portions) we then went ahead as a family and booked the Santa brunch (family of 12) - which was fab! Full breakfast fruit shots, activity bags for the children and then Santa with presents! Honestly was such a sweet experience especially as being local. The food is really good as is the service but I have to say the team you have is incredible, Friendly and so welcoming Well done team and management! You’re our new favourite!

The staffs were rude unfriendly or unhappy. No time for chats or moody and just rude. It's 1st time and last time.

Much better now that the old manager Gary has left. He hated children and had these ridiculous policies regarding how much notice children were allowed to make, even when seated in the family area. We didn't go the The Duck for 3 years because of him. It's great to finally be able to enjoy a family lunch in our local.

Excellent atmosphere and lovely staff very helpful. Had the beef Rib as recommended and wife had the veg wellington. All was good but I think the rib had lost the beefy flavour either during the long cooking process somehow lacking the beefy flavour.Overall it was fine and service was great. I would visit again but another venue and check out the other menu items.

Been going on and off for 40 years. Very busy lots of xmas parties. Still managed a seat. Quick service. Upstairs toilets. Area outside uncovered. Pubs been there forever my grandfather drank there in the 1940s. No ducks or pond anymore. Small carpark. But only one of the few pubs around.

The fixed price lunch is good value. Additionally, your staff were very helpful, as I had a disabled relative in our party.

Had a few quiet drinks, the wine was fine and reasonably priced. Ordered some nachos, went to use the bathroom and a waiter on the way asked if I had ordered the nachos. I said yes, he said hope you enjoy them and he left to go home (assuming his shift finished). I thought he was being friendly, turned out there was a whole layer of salt underneath all the toppings making the nachos inedible. Really confused as to why this happened, we were quiet in the corner the whole time we were there and didn’t cause any trouble. Felt attacked by this malicious act.

Amazing and incredible service, very patient with our group of 8. We enjoyed the crackers and Christmas roast dinner. Great food. Nice and cosy.

The Manager Jamie and his staff did an excellent job of managing our large Xmas Lunch booking. They were welcoming, calm, and attentive when dealing with our large party. Nothing was too much trouble for our party of people from a community mental health and learning disability group. Many thanks for all your hard work.

Half decent food but service was slow

Been here 3 times in the last month. An hour wait for food and the food quality very poor. Would no longer go there which is a real shame as the atmosphere is great.

I booked a room and buffet food as a surprise for my Dads 80th birthday celebrations. The staff were amazing. Rahul was so kind and helpful. The catering was fabulous. Everyone who attended loved the food. The bar staff were fabulous and so helpful. Jerome was extremely attentive when helping me with drinks orders and Jonti joined on his shift a bit later and was very helpful. I can’t fault the service. It was perfect. Thank you so much to the amazing staff at the Duck in the pond for making my dads birthday special and a day to remember!

Not at all Christmassy. Not much for non-meat eaters. Average service. No blinds or curtains so the sun shining in our eyes was a bit of a problem.

It's a great pub to enjoy English food. Food was tasty and the service was decent. It's a bit slow though.

I write this review with a heavy heart, as it has now become impossible to ignore that those at the very top clearly have no real interest in making this a successful pub. The level of incompetence they are showing must be deliberate. Perhaps they want the pub to fail so that they can sell up? I have been visiting this pub for 7-8 years now, and the constant high turnover of staff has become a theme. A team gets settled, begins to get to know the locals etc. then they get overworked, underappreciated, unsupported and eventually leave on mass. Meaning the pub goes back to square one. I could talk for days about the common issues, but I'll sum up concisely with the key ones: Someone at the top level signs off on the staff headcounts allowed at different times, this person is clearly a clown. The guys are always so stretched. You can walk in on a weekday evening or a Sunday lunchtime, you're equally likely to see 20 odd people waiting to be served, with 1 person behind the bar. Food service: food wait times are erratic and you're not always warned when times are increased. The main guy who brings food to the tables, has no interest in customers and seems to hate his job. You could ask for anything from an update on wait times, to asking for some sauce, he'll simply complain that he's on his own. On Sunday I tried to ask him where our food was, he said "I've finished working" and walked away from me. He'll give you an excuse before he gives you an ear. Food ordering: we often order a few starters/sides to share as a table, but whether you mark "serve with starters" or "serve with mains" they seem to just do as they wish. You never know when everything will come. Glasses: they rarely seem to have the right glasses for different drinks anymore. They also often give you murky, streaky glasses. Either the dishwasher isn't working or isn't being cleaned/having the liquids topped up correctly. It's a bit off putting to queue that long for a drink and then get it given to you in such a sorry looking glass. Recruitment: they're slow to hire, poor at retention and don't seem to support their staff. This leads to constant understaffed periods and unnecessary pressure on the team. They currently have Tyrell, Lauren and Aaron who are showing leadership and keeping things together, they need to keep them! They've had a few teams in the time I've been coming here, each one always has a couple of gems. I've never seen them acknowledge that and do what is needed to keep them.

Appalling service. Girl at the bar had attitude, didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Asked her where the drinks menu is, rudely said on the tables. The other girl collected all our plates off the table; no smiles no conversation, dropped a fork hit me, no apologies. Shocking service and disgusting attitude. Should provide a customer service training course to the staff :)

I come to the Duck in the Pond on a regular basis and enjoy the atmosphere and the politeness of the staff. The food is always good and reasonably priced, seeing the same customers often shows how good this pub is, I would highly recommend.

Every time I have visited Ember Inn, I have come back very disappointed! Mostly the food I want to order for my family and myself, is always finished even if I get there as early as 7 pm! Next, I was conned by a member of your staff working at the Blackbird Black Horse pub. Her name is Nazarene. She over charged me by £11 and when I asked her how she had worked out a meal costing £22 that she charged me £32, she had no answer. She took away our foot on the table that we had ordered but not eaten and left us totally high and dry because there was no other restaurant that was going to serve us food at 11 pm on a Sunday.

Great pub. Dog friendly. Pricing mid range but worth it for the quality. I had the mixed grill and my guest the bacon burger. Both were delicious. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Loads of seating.

Great place to meet friends for a drink or to eat, just don't forget to put your car registration as you enter. 😅
