Oh my god this place sells the best rose wine! Me and my friends enjoyed a few bottles yesterday afternoon after we had finished shopping near by. Crisp, cold and simply amazing!

Booked for 6 on Mothers day for a family lunch. The seating and service was OK but the food was very disappointing. 3 of us opted for the roast beef which was barely edible. We had to request steak knives to cut through the beef, which was basically 2 pieces of grisly meat with lots of sinew and fat. I was expecting a lot better for £22. The plant burger, the sausage and mash and the pork belly were OK.

What a great lunch, with superb service our waiter/barman on the first floor mixed a stunning Paloma cocktail swapping the tequila for vodka. So sorry I didn’t get your name - you were just lovely. Food came to the table raging hot and tasty. On booking I was surprised to see an allocated timing of 1.5 hours (I presume quite normal in London) I thought we could end up being rushed, (although this was a Wednesday so could be different experience on a weekend) how wrong I was, a leisurely lunch with great food and service.

The atmosphere was amazing, a real Christmas party feeling, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the manager went out off her way to accommodate our small group on a very busy night, would definitely visit again.

One line takeaway: gastropub prices but falls a long way short of gastropub delivery. We booked a table for eight for Sunday lunch and waited in the bar for our party to arrive. The first disappointment: only one real ale was available which is very poor for somewhere that gives itself the rather grandiose claim that "The Duchess serves some of the best gastropub food and drink in London" Our table was upstairs and that's where the alarm bells started ringing as there was a) only one member of staff for >30 diners and b) a dumb waiter hatch behind the bar. The result of these two factors was very poor service that is not commensurate with the price point. The girl was not well trained at all, hopelessly inefficient and slow and was often Missing In (In) Action for long periods. One starter (the deep fried croquettes) came complete with a thick black hair poking out of it and was sent back. No apology was made and it took an age for a replacement dish to make it's way up the lift. Ah yes, the lift (dumb waiter) up from the kitchen. Only a couple of plates can make the journey each time so food comes up very slowly for large groups and when it does it's not exactly piping hot. So the replacement starter was only lukewarm. Main courses eventually worked their way upstairs but they could only be described as average quality. The Yorkshires have clearly been pre-cooked and then reheated, the red cabbage is frankly awful and there must be an acute gravy shortage in London judging by the small jug of the stuff that's presented. And just two small roast potatoes. Come on guys, you're charging £28 for something "with all the trimmings" but then fall a long way short. Our server was hopeless at drinks re-ordering with zero proactivity, empty glasses were never cleared away and when she could be bothered to come to our table we had to ask for drinks. At no point did she ask if we were enjoying the meal or if we needed anything else. It took her 30 minutes to get the dessert menus, by now I'd have usually walked out but as it was a family event felt obliged to stay. And once again, just like the other courses, the desserts are minuscule for the price with a scoop of ice-cream that's no bigger than a golf ball. This restaurant is not recommended, the lack of hygiene, the lack of customer awareness/service and the small portions all contribute to a very poor value for money experience.

Pub in a lovely location opposite selfridges. Food overpriced Reserved tables for such a small pub? It is very busy and the staff do work hard but the lady with the long dark hair is miserable and rude. We have noticed this on a few occasions Whilst in london.

Lovely little place tucked away in Marylebone. We only had drinks but the service was friendly and our server James made an effort to talk with us. We will be coming back to try out the food offerings.

This has to be one of the most expensive pubs I've visited. Right opposite the Battersea power station so maybe why they wanna Rip people off,,, £6.55 for a bottle of peroni. Jesus were paying £6 in hotel for same in central Windsor so why these think it's acceptable to charge the prices they are is beyond me. It's an OK bar that's about it. We were going to eat here but decided against it looking at the bar price.

Visited here because of its claims of the best Sunday roast. £55 for two roasts and two soft drinks. Beef was inedible. The Yorkshire puddings had been reheated as they were just dust on the inside. Poor service from start to finish. Not worth the money at all. No one to complain to , we even waited so we could speak with someone. Only positive was the veg!

After a disappointing encounter at the Brasserie of Light in Selfridges, I found solace and satisfaction at The Duchess just across the street. The stark contrast in service was immediately evident, with warm and friendly faces greeting me. The cold beer and their genuine willingness to serve were a welcome relief. If you're in need of a place to grab a quick snack while shopping, The Duchess is undoubtedly your go-to destination. It's a refreshing change from the previous experience and a testament to the importance of customer service.

I popped in for a quick bite to eat on a Wednesday night. The bar was pretty much empty, a few tables occupied and some people standing outside. They were out of my first choice meal (butlers bangers) so I opted for Chicken and Leek pie, with mashed potatoes, peas and broccoli. I presume they cook the pie fresh to,order as it took a little while to arrive. The pie itself was decent. A nice flaky pastry, lots of filling and well seasoned. The potatoes however were horrible. Imagine wallpaper paste. They were just so thick and tasteless. Even the gravy (which itself was quite thick) couldn’t perk them up. They sullied what could have otherwise been a decent meal. But that’s about the best I could imagine - maybe they could do a decent meal, not a great meal. Overall a disappointing meal

This place is great. The manager Karen was outstanding, making us feel very welcome. We were in london for a week and went there 5 out of 7 days. Big shout out to Evan. Even with his broken arm he was very helpful and knowledgeable about menu items. When you go there be sure to ask for Karen or Evan.

Popped into The Duchess with some friends after a spot of shopping in Selfridges last weekend. Only popped in for a quick drink but ended up staying for 4 hours and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Our visit was nothing short of wonderful. The team were so friendly and knowledgable about their menus and nothing was too much trouble. James, the GM, made us some phenomenal cocktails and made our visit a very memorable one. James and his team are a real credit to the company. We will definitely be back again soon and will all be sure to recommend the Duchess for their wonderful, fresh food and warm, friendly staff.

My daughter and her partner booked the Duchess for Sunday lunch while we were visiting them! It’s just set back off Oxford street behind Selfridges and first impressions were great. We were seated up stairs (very steep stairs) Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive, sorry we didn’t get his name. The Sunday Roast (beef) was priced similar to anywhere else in the area and overall was good, however the meat was a little rare for me and my daughter and the Yorkshire while looking amazing was huge but wasn’t great. They weren’t overly busy on the day which I was surprised about it being a Sunday lunch time, I would possibly return during the week to try the normal lunch menu!

Went to tea at the Ritz and was not impressed. The scones were not good and not really scones. Ch and F&M offer better tea experience. Table setting and chairs were very cramped. Service was just ok.
