Popped in after visiting a late slot at nearby Lightroom Hockney show for some quiet drinks as other venues nearby are large, impersonal and noisy. We sat inside at the bar although there is lots of outdoor seating too looking out onto Coal Drop Year. This is a pretty standard wine bar, with a good selection of wines, impersonal and indifferent service with more of a tradition wine bar ambience under the rail arches. Can't really fault it at a basic level, but it's a shame the owners won't make more effort to provide a basic customer service level or wine expertise, but welcome to Britain 2023.

I was drawn into this small wine bar by the attractive Victorian stone arches inside. There is a large outside area that's quite attractive and there was a DJ playing records. First impression was that the wine prices seemed a bit steep with bottles of white starting at £31 but we thought we'd give it a go. Unimpressed and a little suspicious that it arrived in a carafe. We'd ordered cheese and biscuits to share but there weren't enough biscuits for the amount of cheese, so we asked for a few more. That seemed to be fine but we later found that we had been charged for them. Service was variable but our first server was friendly. My friend went to the toilets but came back immediately saying she couldn't use them as they were absolutely disgusting. She told a member of staff, who gaily replied "I wouldn't know I haven't had a chance to visit them yet." All in all, a disappointing visit and not somewhere I'll be returning to.

tuna melt: not melted.went to counter, asked if i could start again, get an unheated fresh tuna melt from the shelf.no, i could not i was told. reheated tuna melt was hard on one side cold on the other. described my experience to a staff member as i left, they appeared disinterested and said it might be a problem with the toaster.wow.

I regularly buy mixte sandwiches from the Hampstead branch - today I bought three for my family. The bread was so stale and hard that is inedible which is most unusual. When I called very politely to discuss rather complain the response was “sorry all gone -sold out” and the call was terminated (by Paul staff) - not a great retail experience
