The Dragon City in Doncaster

I ordered Chinese from this restaurant. When it arrived, I opened the box to find the food was soggy, greasy and cold. Most of the food therefore went to waste. I phoned to ask for a refund and was told that I'm 'the first customer to complain - Everyone else likes my food - You will not get compensation' (which clearly isn't true based on these reviews). The server was very rude and hung up on me. I recommend you do not order from this restaurant unless you want to throw your money away.

Well what a fantastic meal. Shoood this place in 2021 but tried it again in January and absolutely amazing food. Weve ordered tonight and can not fault the food at all. So flavoursome and full of meat, veg and everything yummy. Thank you Chefs from Bessacarr Dragon city your now our local Chinese by miles 😇😘

The shredded beef was nice. The sweet and sour pork was raw. Special satay was watery with the other mains. Was 70 pounds worth of food. Wouldn't recommend the Chinese. As the lady was very rude as we wanted some compensation as most of the food was wasted.

15 yrs we have ordered from Dragon City we have always enjoyed the food, not to mention the delivery service 100%, I would like to thank the staff each and everyone of you a pleasant Christmas guys x

Awful, I ordered a chicken chow mein and I got what looks like pork noodle soup! I'm pretty sure it was pork not chicken!! Worst chow mein ever, but on the other hand the lady at the till was lovely.....

I've ordered for delivery from here many times and it's always been delivered very quickly, the food has always been nice, hot, and as ordered. However, following a food hygiene inspection in August 2023 they were only given 3 stars. Those in the know will appreciate that things are pretty grim even when as many as 3 stars are awarded. This rating was after recieving 2 stars at the previous inspection (which I wasn't previously aware of). This demonstrates utter contempt for customer safety. They clearly don't care and I will not be ordering from them again.

The food was below average. We had a lot of variety and out of the 8 dishes 2 were ok. Wouldn’t order from here again.

Never had a bad meal! It's not 90% veg like you get from most Chinese takeaways.

They always nail the beef and black bean sauce here. Always been impressed.

Last two times I've visited, the chicken balls are clearly refried, possibly more than once. Burnt on the outside and the chicken on the inside was like chewing leather. I will not be calling again unfortunately

Very disappointed considering the hype of this place. Prawn crackers were cheap & nasty, chicken balls taste like they had been cooked more than once, dry & tasteless. Chicken fried rice, the chicken and peas were dry & tasteless. Don't recommend to anyone, won't be going back!!

Can’t beat it. Always fast, always decent.

This is a place where you can drop in to order a meal. The priority is given to called in orders and is not unusual to be quoted an hour for your meal They should stop the pretence and just shut up shop to walk-in orders and just feed remote orders. This is no longer a local service.

Jogged back from my home to swap some normal chips I had mistakenly been given instead of salt and pepper ones. Politely told the person at the counter, they checked my order and said I’d ordered normal chips. I said I was pretty sure I’d ordered salt and pepper, but was abruptly told “well I heard chips”… I then explained that I’d absent-mindedly put my change down on the side when I got home, so didn’t have any way of paying the difference (about £1.50!?), and asked if there was anything they could do. “No, sorry” - and then they walked off into the back of the shop. Not how you keep people’s custom guys!

Working away and found this absolute gem of a place. Had a chicken Kung Po and some noodles. Was by far one of the best iv had. Highly recommend

Oh my god I’m from gravesend Kent visiting family and this order for £40 would have easily have been at least £60 the food was amazing and hot and had plenty of meat and fish etc I’m in shock tbh the stupid value for money

Awful set meal. Sweet n sour heavy soggy batter, sauce a brown mix, ribs chewy, never again and upto £25!

Just this very second had our takeaway chineese meal from this takeaway after lockdown. As usual fantastic, very tasty loads of flavour. We are not easy people to please as far as good food is concerned.But this takeaway is tops seriously. Thank you and so very, very happy you are back after the lock down.😁

Friday night, 10.45pm....rang to place an order for collection. Was told, no we are now closed.. we have a new menu and are now closed. I asked why, was told no reason, we are just closed.....very disappointed with owners attitude...so.much for maintaining community spirit...how sad. ..website states open until 11.30pm......boooooooo....

Never again!! Placed an order over the phone & had it read back to us . Went to collect the order which again was read back to us when we got home discovered not only was one of the dishes wrong but one of the dishes we ordered wasn’t even there. We rang & explained this but all we got was that it was our fault we ordered incorrectly. The girl was extremely rude & said we could change our order but would have to pay extra. The food we actually got was poor to say the least . I’ve been ordering here for a long time but never again . Absolute rubbish service!!!

Ordered Sweet & Sour chicken battered, firstly the chicken was separated from the sweet and sour itself, secondly the chicken pieces given were soo big that you would have to quarter them just to eat it with the rice and sweet and sour which then the batter ends up coming off the chicken, thirdly the chicken batter was just full of oil which became sickly at one point , traditional sweet & Sour is meant to come with fried onions, pineapple ,peppers and tomatoes mixed with the sweet & Sour sauce, this just came with the sauce on its own in a tub with chicken separate not authentic at all in my opinion. Only thing I can say positive was the speed of delivery.

Used to be fantastic take away. Quality has massively dropped in past 6 months and rude staff.

Extremely disappointed. Chicken curry tasted odd and needed more seasoning. Prawn toast was made with thick bread cut in to fingers which made it very greasy, not nice. This is an honest review, i bear no grudges against Dragon City, I was just massively dissapointed as I was sooo looking forward to it.

Failed to deliver the right order. Spoke to the manager on the phone and she was refusing to send it out. Also very cocky towards us and said she was too busy. For this she’s lost our custom and a lot of others.
