Red Tomato in Doncaster

I’ve been ordering pizzas from here for the last 8 years at least and they’ve always been brilliant. I ordered one the other day and it was dreadful. Really thin, burnt, dry and tasteless. I don’t know if it’s changed hands recently but it will be a while before I considering getting something else from here.

Is normally really nice but today was shocking. The toppings were stale and the pizza was bone dry, no sauce at all on the base. Was also overcooked and rock hard. Won’t order again

Came stone cold, which is disappointing to say its only a 5-7 minute drive away. Do delivery drivers not use insulated delivery bags anymore? Had to microwave it which didn't go down very well with the fresh salad. Missing fried mushrooms and most likely blue cheese as couldnt taste or see it on one of the burgers, and paid for 2 types if cheese on the other which was pretty much none existant either. Over all the food was very nice just disappointed the rest of it let it down as it would of been 5 stars other wise .

Fantastic, I have no idea why I've ever ordered from a chain when red tomato exists. PS. Thanks for the giraffe drawing on the box, loved it :)

It was very nice for my first time ordering from here. They got lost getting to the house but they were friendly and nice. Pizza was also nice, and a good price. Will order again.

Red tomato is a brilliant takeaway I have been one of the old customers from when it was pizza island and the pizzas have always been top notch I haven't tried the lasagna they also released a burger option I really liked the burgers and the amount of options is great the only downside with this place is their garlic bread is awful it's very dry and tasteless but there square pizzas more than make up for it and the fries spice shake.

Stunning. Clean. Professional. The absolutely best of its kind. Wish I could give 10 stars. Class

Not great compared to last time I ordered from here. Burgers are certainly not homemade and look nothing like advertised. The fact they come as a stand alone product and you have to pay extra for fries is ridiculous. Burger was rubbery, tasteless and straight out of a freezer or recently defrosted. Chips where overcooked and very hard to eat.

Just had my usual from Red Tomato. Pizza was very bland. I won't use again.

Had the square shredded duck pizza, absolutely delicious. I know it sounds strange but must be tried.

Bit into two staples in my second slice of pizza, called the restaurant, manager of no help whatsoever, quite rude actually. Told to call just eat to complain and ask for a refund. Those staples were definitely cooked into the pizza. Never using them again

Service was great and staff were friendly. Food was nice but the only thing that lets it down for me is the price. I had grilled chicken and pita bread with chips and drink it was £10 roughly which is a bit pricey I don’t think the food reflects the price

Amazing food as always. It is definitely our favourite takeaway in Doncaster. The taste of Italy is absolutely delicious. The chips are cooked perfectly. Staff are friendly and food is always out quick once ordered

Getting overpriced now , £3.50 for delivery , £1 for dip people may aswell go to dominos, as it’s pretty much £20 for a pizza. Iv ordered plenty but never any offers or deals and the woman delivering try’s to steal your change!

Don’t bother ordering from these clowns, they will just tell you that nobody has taken your order when blatantly the same girl answering the phone is the same person that you placed the order with has failed! Absolutely rubbish, just don’t bother!

Gone from best pizzas in doncaster to worst !!! Hour and half wait for a stale tasteless overpriced pizza even the chips where cooked in old oil , not one to leave bad reviews but I feel disgusting with what I was served last night..

Beautiful food, excellent friendly staff. We travel from the other side of Doncaster to pick up food from here and the food is always spot on. Definitely worth a visit or a takeaway.

Wife in hospital and decided to try it. Really enjoyed the pizza and fries. Would definitely try it again

Really nice pizza. Best tomato base I have had on a pizza in ages. Just thought it was a bit disorganised behind the counter. Starting to look a bit dated too in the waiting areas and around the kitchen.

The food is lovely but it ALWAYS takes so long whether you have take away or delivery. I've arrived at the recommended time for collection before and had to sit in my car a further 20mins to wait for my order.

Placed a order for Halloween pizza was nice but not fantastic really hard crust I asked for a menu they didnt bring one no sauce on my kabab and they owe me money after not given correct change driver seemed that he wasn't botherd about the customers very rude would not recommend be better red tomato 🍅

After finding a take away that does gluten free and telling everyone how great the service was, I am extremely disappointed tonight as I ordered at 9pm, waited until 1015 until calling to find out where the food was only to be then told it has left the shop. 1045 still no food called again and was told there was a problem with my order it hadn't gone through? So why at 1015 when I rang did you say it had left? Obviously hadn't. Not impressed. Would not recommend at all

07/2021. Had to change my 5 star review to a one star. All aspects of customer servuce have gone. Staff swearing behind the counter whilst I am in at 1730 with my kids. Ordered 40 minutes ago with collection due after 25 mins. When i walked in it looked like they had just realised there was an online order. Hopefully the pizza will be nice but such poor service really lets it down.

Better then the average said a year ago. Been enjoying for two years but ordered tonight, and the young girl on the phone has an attitude problem and won't be back again. Got full refund via just eat thankfully. She needs to grow up. Your business will slowly grind to a halt, unless you fire her.

Love the food from here but it’s getting worse , ordered puddings and they came frozen I know it’s not a massive deal but when you order somat you want to eat it there and then not have to leave it for two hours to defrost first

Best Pizza shop in Doncaster by far!

I always order from the red tomato as live round the corner bur recently service is getting worse .Placed order at 19.40 and its 21.10 and still no delivery. I know the web page shows for home delivery might be longer than 60 minutes due to covid ...but 1.30minutes for pizza...I can go to asda back and cook the pizza in less than that. take away should be faster and more convienient -you wont find it at the red tomatoe anymore!Maybe the old owner should teach them business!

Two hours wait for delivery and barely warm when it arrived. You expect a wait on a Saturday night, but two hours?

Wait time is an absolute joke. Staff rude and lack the most basic levels of customer service. Food was cold and took nearly two hours to arrive. Complete piss takel!!!

We ordered a pizza online and Red Tomato took our money but they haven't acknowledged the order and we can't get through on the phone to speak to anybody to sort it out

Normally a good service and good food but to ring tonight @19:30 asking for a collection to a reply of, sorry were too busy is not acceptable. Even if it was 60-90 minutes would suffice

Used to rave about it and tell all my friends . But seems as though the food just isn't as well made anymore, And the plentiful of toppings I used to get on my pizza have been reducing on every order . Gave it 3⭐ as it is still better than most . If I do ever order again I'll post a pic

2 hours and 30 minutes delivery time

Ordered over phone as on line would not accept payment. Ordered at 7.21pm and arrived at 9.20pm. Disappointed... could tell food had been cooked and left to sweat waiting for delivery..soggy result. First order and possibly last.

Really love the pizzas here but I've had to mark them down as twice I've asked for no red onion and twice they have given it to me. This time they put it on the pizza which shouldn't have any?

Literally the best pizza we’ve ever eaten. We ordered signature Banbury and opted for Sweet Carolina and duck pizza. Oh my days. Worth the drive from Thorne just to go and pick it up.

Approx wait time of 45 mins, rang after 45 mins just to update contact number as live in a top floor flat. Told 20 mins. Rang after 1 hour and half to be told an extra 30 mins. Partner obviously wasn’t impressed, gave him a time for it to be there - funnily enough it was. The guy who’s employed on phones has zero social skills, very undermining. When I said it’s a bit of a joke took over an hour and half, asked me what I wanted him to do about it? Nice one chap! Food come, pizza bread solid, chips vile. Garlic bread with cheese was like eating my mother’s old slippers. Would honestly rather not eat at all than give them my cash again. Buy at your own risk.

Ordered at 6pm delivered 1hour 45 minutes later not good enough always used these not anymore

Was Used as my go to Pizza takeaway. Food very tasty, price is competitive with other well known brands but just had the edge on them in my opinion.However Used tonight and after ordering it at 8.30pm had to chase up at 9.30pm given the stock answer that its on its way. Called again at 10.pm was not going to give my anger to the wrong person as the manager wouldnt answer the phone but pizza eventually turns up semi cold at 10 05pm. Will not be using again. Terrible service don't know if management have changed or priorities now been on a just eat franchise.

Ordered on a weekday waited over 2 hours for our food, bearing in mind it was only 1 pizza! Food finally arrived after our hunger had passed... STONE Cold and as hard as slate. We've ordered from here so many times and only had a handful of bad experiences but this takes the mick. They were hardly apologetic and only offered 10% off our next order which is in no way acceptable since we paid £16 for something we didn't even eat! We will now be looking for a new place to order from because they quite evidently don't value anyone's custom with the lack of apology or recompense offered. Not only did they come over an hour late, deliver nasty cold hard food but they also knocked (which we asked them not to) woke our little girl up and then continued to talk ridiculously loud even after we asked them to be quieter. After being loyal customers for over 3 years you'd expect more of an apology and attempt at making things right.

Just ordered dinner for the family & ordered 3 deserts to go after the pizza. Lemon Cheesecake, Chocolate Fudge and Banoffee. When I have gone to get these each slice of cakes were frozen solid. I have called to complain and was advised to put them in the microwave for 15 seconds. Unbelievable. Scares me to think how they prepare your food if that’s the advise they give. At £2.40 each I could of bought a full frozen one from Waitrose!

As posted on just eat as store will still not return my call. Your driver shouting at my 13 year old in the house on his own as he couldnt find the key to open the door as you turned up half an hour earlier than you were due is not exceptable. Your driver also slammed the house window on him after passing the delivery through and carried on shouting. All of this was heard due to him calling us. If you won't return my call I will have to give a poor review.

I have a pizzas all time from here have for a lot of years always lovely but who ever made mine tonight it was extremely good would not go anywhere else brilliant

It's with a heavy heart that I give Red Tomato just 1 star... but I've had enough my last 3 visits have been awful and sorry but its 3 strikes and you are out. I'm guessing you have new owners who dont understand that quality will keep customers. It's a real shane because I've been a loyal customer since this place opened.

Arrived late & The food tasted like it had been sat in the car for quite some time.Tepid, soggy chips and the pizza base had the texture of cardboard. Totally disappointed.

Fantastic Margharita but we ordered toppings!! Not saying that the toppings had been missed off, they were there, but in really really minute quantities and not on every slice.

Incredible food, perfect pizzas and their service is polite and reasonably fast. Best place to order pizza from, and their other food is also incredible

Delicious, fresh ingredients beautifully prepared in a great range of pizzas. The best pizza house we've found in Doncaster so far. Forget the over-hyped and over-priced chains, this is the place for me

The food was not what I was expecting, having been led to believe that Red Tomatoe was the premiere pizza place in Doncaster. The food was late by 45 mins. It was not hot. I did not get the chips I ordered. I did not get the extra tomatoe base I requested. I found it difficult to differentiate between the pick and mix selections. Every pizza tasted almost the same. When the food was delivered, the delivery man was told that there was no chips, Has had been requested. He gave us the money for the chips and returned some time later, when we had finished eating, with chips. Sorry red tomatoe, I could have spent £40 at any of the pizza take aways and still wrote the same poor review.

Nice pizza but the terrible extremely loud music blaring out makes waiting extremely unpleasant to the extent of being almost unbearable.

Ordered on Thursday 23rd Aug at 21:34. Usually receive great service and very nice food from Red Tomato. Ordered Meatball Linguine and Beef Burger with Bacon, Cheese, Onion Rings, Lettuce, Tomato Jalapeno and Cajun Sauce with Fries for collection (as we were not at the registered card address) Cooking time was 25 mins and when I collected at 10pm everything was ready for me, and service was excellent as usual. When I arrived home I found that the burger was completely plain. Phoned Red Tomato and was offered the choice of a free burger with my next order or a replacement sent out by delivery which would take 30mins (about the same as another round trip in the car if I collected). Chose a replacement burger as I'd not eaten since lunch but by 11:30pm this still hadn't turned up. Gave up and went to bed pretty disappointed as well as hungry (didn't eat the plain burger because it was pretty dull and cold by the time I'd finished on the phone).

These are truly fine pizzas . Good flavour combinations and good bases. Not to the owners , I really really miss your extra thin and crispy bases. Oh and a word to the wise ... the lasagna is devine

Delivery took a while. I was expecting a fairly big pizza for the price I paid for it. It was small. Was nice but not big enough, didn’t taste of jalfrezi. Wasn’t spicy. Still hungry

I will never be using the takeaway again I've been using it for few years now and the prices are ridiculous £4.00 for 1 burger it's a joke if u add chips on its nearly £6.00 for a meal u can go to McDonald's for a full meal cheaper

As from today the prices for a Chicken Burger and fries has gone up 50% .....? Good luck Red Tomato this is pure greed and it's a shame because we enjoyed the food. If your Staffs wages have gone up 50% i will still be a loyal customer .... of course not this is pure greed! I give this place 12 months trading, once people cotton on they will move on!

Dough is made fresh daily, service is exceptional. The pizzas they have here can't really be seen anywhere else.

Great pizza. Varied tastes and unique toppings. Only downside is that the pizzas could be a little bigger. I'd be happy to pay a little more for a 12" pizza

Fresh food and real dough, not the horrible, smooth over cooked garlic bread like some other places serve. Nice cheese, not cheap and greasy cheese. Other pizza places please take note, we need quality products. I recommend this place to everyone. 5 stars ✨

Use to be realy nice when the old owners had it but as no been taken over pizza sometimes like carboard or miss toppings off but to be truthful since been taken over it's gone down hill and one of the drives pulls outside your house and sits I the car for 10minutes and always looks stoned

THE BEST pizzeria in Doncaster and twice voted the best in the UK! The food will speak for itself, quite simply... amazing! We use it all the time at work and it's won round all the staff.
