Tried for the first time today as we usually go to a chippy in Gildersome. All I can say is, I wish we had gone sooner. Chips weren't greasy and were lovely and soft inside. Fish was large, the batter was soft and fluffy which we were not expecting as they currently have a deal on £6.50 for fish and chips. Glad to say we will be going again and not have to venture too far to get our chippy in the future.

Smaller of the 2 fish & chip shops in Drig, tried both this week and this one has the edge for me, excellent food and it takes card payment too compared to the other that doesn't, not expensive as other reviews suggest, just comparable with standard cost of F&C these days.

Certainly 1 of the better fish n chip places.

I got a special which was beautiful, But. expensive compared to what they used to be.

It's Great! Some of the best Jumbo Sausages and fish buttys I have ever had! Recently the ownership to this business has changed and I have to admit the food isn't as top-notch it used to be. Don't get me wrong it is still great and the best around the Drighlington area but it isn't my favourite. There are no toilets but everything is hygienic. No seating in areas and no benches either however a couple steps away there is a park. The prices are surprisingly cheap 😉 and the kid meals seam very good for value especially the chicken nuggets (it as I call them boulders) Brill! :)

Nice fish and chips, I usually get a special but the price was a little high for me personally, maybe I missed out? Still, I enjoyed my meal and would recommend it.

I Had my first Scumcious fish butty today.I was passing and needed protein after cycling for 30 miles. All I can say is it is THE BEST FISH BUTTY I HAVE EVER HAD.I will be going again.

Visited on a Friday night and joined the queue which is always a good sign. Fish was large and tasty with a nice crispy batter. Chips first class. Good friendly service and all at a good price. Will definitely call back again.

After coming home from a holiday abroad all I fancied was fish and chips from the best fish and chip shop in the area. I say in the area but I travel from Liversedge each time which is a bit of a drive passing other fish and chip shops on the way. However not to be disappointed I arrived and Jerome was there as always with a smile on his face, along with his friendly staff, who always like a bit of banter while you are waiting. As always my order arrived and was piping hot and fresh, straight out of the pan. The chips were gorgeous and the fish was to die for, although at a very reasonable price, the fish is massive and the batter is so light and crispy (I would love to have his recipe for the batter but he won’t give it out). But as long as I can drive I will still be getting my fish and chips from here, as it’s so fresh and along with friendly staff and the wonderful service. What more could you ask for? Would I recommend this shop ..... a definite YES Would I go back ...... a definite ALWAYS Not to be missed so keep up the good work guys!

Después de regresar a casa de unas vacaciones en el extranjero, todo lo que me gustaba era pescado y papas fritas de la mejor tienda de pescado y papas fritas de la zona. Digo en la zona, pero viajo desde Liversedge cada vez, lo que es un poco en coche pasando por otras tiendas de pescado y papas fritas en el camino. Sin embargo, para no decepcionarme, llegué y Jerome estaba allí, como siempre, con una sonrisa en su rostro, junto con su amable personal, a quien siempre le gusta bromear mientras espera. Como siempre, mi pedido llegó y estaba caliente y fresco, directamente de la sartén. Las patatas fritas eran preciosas y el pescado era para morirse, aunque a un precio muy razonable, el pescado es enorme y la masa es muy ligera y crujiente (me encantaría tener su receta para la masa, pero no la dará a conocer) ) Pero mientras pueda conducir, seguiré obteniendo mi pescado y papas fritas desde aquí, ya que es muy fresco y junto con un personal amable y el maravilloso servicio. ¿Qué más puedes pedir? ¿Recomendaría esta tienda? . . . . un SI definitivo ¿Volvería? . . . . . un SIEMPRE definido No se pueden perder, así que sigan con el buen trabajo chicos! I used to deliver round here about 2 years ago and get my dinner from this place, was always beautiful food and the owner always says hello and thanks you for coming. Been popping back in recently to sample the food again haha and it's exactly the same, brilliant food and service and the owner is the same says hi and thanks for coming every time. Spot on place to eat. Also do small fish and chips for the kids. 5 star.

Great fish and chips always a freindly welcome. Generous portions, beautiful thick haddock, family specials, all topped of with a fresh t cake for a butty and why not like we did get some mushy peas. A traditional Yorkshire run chippy. Never go anywhere else.

From someone living in Birstall with quite a few chippies about, we choose to make the special journey to Drighlington to The Dolphin for our fish and chips. Always cooked fresh, and taste amazing!! Best around by miles.

The Trawler is my fave chippy, probably anywhere, but the Dolphin is not far off at all literally. Generous portion and tastes good, what more do you want? I do choose the Trawler over this place everytime, but if a very long queue or if they have run out of what I want, I am not disheartened popping into here. If honest, when I have driven past The Trawler, I have hummed and arrghed for a chippy by looking at their building and smelling their food. Instead of turning around, I just pull up outside here. Never been disappointed.

Just been for Fish Chips and Curry sauce, fantastic big fish lovely batter chunky well cooked chips and Curry sauce that tastes of something not too hot but with a fruity flavour. And not a Kebab in site
