The Trawler in Leeds

I am staying with friends and have come here for my annual visit. Thankfully the quality is still superb, very nice fish and super thin crispy batter. The chips are plentiful too and one portion is enough for two.

Just closing, but managed to get a cake and several scallops. They were yummy, really hot and tasty. We both enjoyed them.xc

No gluten free fish and chips, so we no longer go. One gluten free fish and chips would lead my family all ordering here, now we go elsewhere

Can't fault this chippy, first time visiting and got fresh cooked to order food for my entire order. I don't mind waiting for fresh cooked food. Food itself was tasty, not swimming in grease either. Portions were massive for the price. Cash only but there is a cash machine a few doors down if needed. I will definitely be back for another serving.

We came here a year ago and returned again for another excellent experience. Prices have gone up but the quality has been maintained, the portion of fish is large and the fish is very white plus the batter is excellent. There are so many chips that one portion is enough for three!

We had fish and chips for 3 of us. We had 3 fish and 2 chips which was plenty of food. The fish was lovely, great quality fish with thin and crispy batter. The chips were delicious as were the curry sauce and mushy peas. We declined scraps as we wanted to be healthy.

Can't knock the quality of the fish and chips, nor the portion size (which is more than enough for any appetite!) The only draw back is the always increasing prices at over £30 for 4x's, which doesn't make them a cheap midweek treat for tea anymore. I know diesel/gas prices have all increased, but people will start talking with their feet and find cheaper chippy's.

Very tasty freshly cooked fish. Ample portions to suit me, staff are polite and keep the queues moving, very reasonable prices. I drive up from Gildersome going past the chippy in my village to get here and its well worth the 5 minute drive. Its a take away not a restaurant.

Not cheap but exceptional fish and chips

This is not a good fish and chips shop and my experience was terrible they hadn't got my order ready for 45 minutes on a day where they had little customers when my food came is ice cold and the batter was overcooked yet still cold some how. The Dolphin near-by is much much better and I DEFINITELY WONT VISIT THIS AGAIN. No toilets and No Seating and also a bit messy and unhygienic. Poor. 2/5. :(

Tried for the first time tonight. Generous portions, good prices and most importantly, great quality food. Haven't even finished my meal yet but had to leave a review. I am full but the food is so nice I will eat it all! We will be returning!

Local, good pieces of haddock, loads of chips and excellent friendly staff keeping the queues moving. I have never had a bad take away from the Trawler. In my opinion the best in the area.

This is the best chippy in the world, nothing comes even close, staff are fantastic, cannot do enough for You, fish is massive and extra tasty, a standard portion is enough to feed a small army, 100% will return! Spot on!!!

The fish is top quality and the chips are cooked to perfection. You will be stuffed after eating it all. I've never had fish and chips anywhere that can beat these.

Traditional fish and chips. Food is absolutely delicious, mouth watering, really. Staff is efficient but also always smile on their face and will cheer customers with nice word for every one. Place is very busy at lunch and teatime and that is clearly a very good recommendation. When I have friends over, local or abroad, The Trawler is definitely on our list for having tasty meal.

This means that it can be very busy on occasions, however staff serve quickly and accurately, food is always cooked fresh and it's well worth any wait. Best fish and chips for miles around! We are lucky to have so many great takeaway options in Drighlington however The Trawler is by far the best Fish and Chip shop for miles. The staff are friendly, quick and efficient. The portions are more than ample the fish is always cooked fresh and chips are amazing too. Only criticism is the opening times are quite limited so often busy. However service is quick and well worth the wait.

Fish - good size and tastes good, I like the batter and the fish has a lot of meat. Chips, pretty decent. There are 2 chippies on this road and for me it is hard to call a winner, maybe just this place. If I am in the area, I will choose this or The Dolphin over any other I drive past or near my home in Batley. I really can't think of another chippy I would choose over these 2. Very generous portion.

Great fish bring an appetite .you get plenty of chips in a bag and the curry sauce is lovely. Service is good but there are often queues on a Saturday lunchtime

I have driven passed this place many times but never noticed this small fish and chip shop until a friend who lives nearby suggested we get a takeaway. They do all the dishes you would expect. We ordered a large fish as well as a regular fish and one portion of chips. The large fish had to be cooked to order as I suspect most of their fish is anyhow as they were frying as people ordered. The fish was excellent quality and my large fish literally was too big to fit on a plate. The fish was served skin off which is my preference and the batter was very crisp and not at all greasy. The chips were very tasty and again no hind of grease or oily flavour. Prices are very reasonable - from memory a standard fish and chips was around £6.

Fish was beatiful. Lightly battered and well done. Always come here for fish and chips.
