Over half the restaurant was empty from the time we arrived to the time we left yet we were told there wasn’t availability. Tried to raise an issue with whom I assume to be a member of management but she walked off mid conversation. Think the goats from the farm next door could give better customer service.

Ordered carvery 20.10.24, for selected time with Uber,order was half an hour late and cold . Roast potatoes were burnt, inedible, had mashed potato despite me requesting not to . Driver did not ask me for confirmation number . Total disappointment. Don’t normally use Uber and will never again . No updates to why late . No apology . Would not recommend. Normally am very happy with Highnam, but not on this occasion. I tried to ring to complain , phone went unanswered.

Booked online using the app. On arrival table wasn’t ready which I did except as it was Sunday evening. Was then asked to wait in the bar and they would call us. 30 mins later we still hadn’t been called So we went back the the booking desk and they had completely forget about us then have the nerve to say we should have come back after waiting ten minutes. Extremely poor service. Will never go there again.

Dean host was great food as good as always very nice experience. We are regulars at this toby because service so good when Dean looks after us .

The food today was excellent, but the thing that impressed me more than anything was the lovely lady that served me. So much so that I asked her name which she gave me. Stopped here on the way to Essex. The food was one of the best Toby’s I’ve eaten at. Especially the meat. On the bill arriving we did let the gentleman serving know we thought it was 25% off to which he acted as if he didn’t know saying ‘oh is it?’ To which I replied ‘well is it’ as I was looking on the app. He replied he’s not sure and I should check which I find strange as when I worked at Toby we was made aware of all offers and promotions on. Would definitely recommend and return though.

Absolutely faultless food and service tonight. Not had such pleasant service or easy going amenable staff anywhere for a long long time. We have just been here for the worse breakfast we have ever had……. All dried up eggs old and swimming in fat. Bacon all dried up, sausages and hash browns all over cooked and bowl of mashed up veg which I suppose was mean to be bubble and squeak, . basic offerings no scrambled eggs only fried. No black pudding no veggie options. Best part was the coffee. Toast machine either undercooks the toast or burns it really needs adjustment. It was only 9 ish when we arrived so I would have expected better. Loads of workmen who obviously went for quantity not quality. An absolute disgrace.

Had a table booked for Saturday afternoon. Sadly we were less than we had booked for. This wasn’t a problem and the friendly lady sat us at our table. She then introduced Dean to us and he was exceptional Totally professional and friendly and explained all options. He checked back on us through the meal and was on hand with a sincere smile. Booked online and arrived 5 minutes early, the restaurant smelled a bit strange and we noticed as soon as we walked in. I requested on the booking to sit in restaurant but we were shown to a table one away from the bar. I said we requested restaurant and was ignored as the guy walked away. Waiter came over a few minutes later and looked very stressed. We gave our order and were asked if we wanted pigs in blankets which used to be £1.99. We said yes please and then waiter advised they were £3.99. We just said ok and went up to get our food there wasn’t much of a queue for a change and I got my meat, good selection of potatoes and veg. Hubby wasn’t impressed with amount of meat as only had two slices of meat cut very thinly. He doesn’t like cabbage or sprouts so all he could have by way of veg was carrots and peas. There was no broccoli, swede, leeks, red cabbage, sweetcorn or parsnips. We both had gravy but it didn’t have much taste and was quite thin which made my mash turn into a paste. My husband finished his meal and there was no sign of the pigs in blankets, I asked the waiter to cancel them and they said they had just asked the kitchen, I replied we don’t want them as we’ve nearly finished our meal. The tables were quite close and the lady on the next table was quite large so each time she sat down or got up we had her rear end in our faces. (Not her fault obviously the tables are too close together). As I was finished the waiter advised they had taken the pigs in blankets off the bill. The waiter was rushing around clearing tables, taking orders, doing deserts, starters and drinks so we couldn’t get their attention for a desert so decided to just pay and leave. At £14.79 per meal we weren’t happy with the amount of meat and lack of taste in the gravy. Very disappointing and for that price we expected more. Quality has definitely gone down although prices have gone up

We came Tuesday evening 4 of us. Had an amazing carvery. Our table waitress was polite and very helpful. The restaurant it self was very clean and tidy and felt welcoming. When we got to go for our carvery we were just behind 4 people so no wait really. The chef was polite and clean and tidy in his serving of the meats. He gave decent slices of meat as well. The vegetables were good . Plenty of everything. We were so pleased with our meals we all sat in silence eating and enjoying it. After recently having been to Brockworth and had to queue for about 40 mins to get to the servery with very little vegetables left and it was a complete mess . We have come back to our favourite toby. Well done to all the staff who made it a pleasure to eat there.

First time here but really enjoyed it. Visited for a family get together and to enjoy their Sunday carvery. From the beginning we were made to feel very welcome, greeted with smiles and shown to our reserved table. The carvery itself was outstanding, a choice of five meats and as much of everything else you could manage to eat. Absolutely delicious, very tasty with no complaints whatsoever. We were frequently visited to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Thoroughly recommend their Sunday carvery, good value, but beware, it does get very busy so a booking is a must.

We booked a table for my wife’s birthday and arrived on time. We were led through the first part of the restaurant which had some really cozy looking empty tables and past the bar area. We were then led through to the far end of the building past the food serving area to 2 interlinked dining rooms . It was like a refugee camp. All the tables were rammed with people and we were given a table in between the first set of doors and the next set in to the second area. This was the main thoroughfare for everyone so there was a constant stream of people walking round our table. DO YOU REALLY THINK ANYONE WOULD ENJOY SITTING THERE? We asked for another table but we’re refused!! Needless to say we walked out and will never return. This place is nothing but conveyor belt feeding and for their own convenience cram everyone in to one area. No thanks ……

Absolutely shocking, qued for over 1 hour! Food was absolutely awful! Chef was incredibly rude after asking for meats he gave me two different and then proceeded to get extremely angry when I corrected him! Food was cold, nothing was fresh! Gravy was like water, Yorkshire pudding was flat and uncooked. The beef was very fatty Dirty cutlery, cups and plates. Food all squished into the carpet while waitresses just walking over it! Members of staff flirting while eating creating an extremely cringe experience while eating as a family. We waited 25 minutes after being seated for a waitress although no one came so we just got up and asked for drinks ourselves

Went with a few friends for a quiet evening meal and was horrified by the service and quality of food. We waited around 25 minutes to simply be seated even after being stared at by several blank looking staff members. After being seated by a very blunt host, a young waitress took our drinks order as if she was either high or computer generated - completely dead behind the eyes. Upon getting our food, two of us waited 10 minutes before giving up on the meat and taking a finnicky portion from the abysmal selection of cold, leftover looking microwaved veg. The mac and cheese tasted plastic and the yorkshire puddings were raw and doughy. My two friends that got meat said it seemed uncooked. We abruptly left following this.

Awful experience, food was cold, bland, undercooked and tasted microwaved - had to wait at the carvery despite how quiet it was and didn’t even get meat because we gave up waiting and helped ourself to the veg which looked like gruel, never seen such questionable food - when we arrived we waited to be seated for an eternity despite being stared at by multiple staff and not spoken to. We asked a staff member if we could seat ourselves and we were told to wait for a host - staff appeared like AI characters, not one thought behind their eyes and the slowest service we thought we were being pranked it was that bad.

Arrived early and told our booking was not on the system. We were given a table and waited for our friends. Went to the Ladies and no toilet paper and no soap. Mentioned to a member of staff but when we left 2 hours later nothing had been replenished. Ordered drinks while we were waiting but they didn't come. Went to the carvery and the boy carving the meat was literally shredding the turkey and putting tiny shreds on to people's plates. The beef was near the end and the boy put the unchewable burnt ends in my friends plate. She took it back as it was. Inedible. We ordered dessert but cancelled it due to the length of time it took to come. Our poor waitress was run ragged looking after 11 tables. The evening was a shambles. We were celebrating 2 wedding anniversaries and left feeling totally underwhelmed. Totally unacceptable.

Excellent customer service, very friendly and helpful staff, very good food. Brilliant value for money. Will be back soon and would highly recommend.

Turned up to restaurant and was greeted almost immediately by a lovely red headed manager she then seated us with the main waiter Dean. He was prompt coming to the table to take a drinks order from my partner and child and myself Ensuring our requirements were meet. Offering child cutlery and colouring sheets for my daughter. He took our food order and made sure all our requirements were meet. Dean is an asset to the company and definitely deserves recognition for his 5star service. We will definitely be coming back.

Awful experience. Plates were dirty. Food on floor. Furniture outside is rotten and needs burning. Greeting staff and bar staff were lovely but the chefs serving didn’t look like they wanted be there! Very busy place I have no idea why it’s so popular.
