Elmbury Lodge Brewers Fayre in Tewkesbury

This place is now closed from 5th July 2024 and from the 3rd July is not serving any walk in customers. From 5th July it is only serving customers from the premier inn hotel as it will be used as an hotel to house people fleeing violence from other countries

Couldn't get you in and out quick enough, staff to busy talking instead of serving customers, main was cold,just really badly run. Just ignore you at the bar whilst talking to each other, place was empty, but not letting customers walk in?!

Stopped off here on route to Holyhead after a few days iin Cotswolds. Got admit was blown away with friendly staff n food was delicious so definitely recommend a visit in area. Not far off motorway so does not take u much off your route etc. If your into Geocaching there is a cache locsted close to restaurant 👍

Nice pub with good atmosphere, my lad will only eat a Spag Boll when we're out and he enjoyed this one

Food is good, nice veg choices, decent portions of meat, only thing to complain about is the extremely runny gravy..needs more gravy granules lol..

On entry to the pub I ordered a drink for my wife and one for myself I had a Guinness o and I had to ask for a glass. I ordered the food and my wife’s plate was chipped and a hair line crack on the plate the pie was so hard and dry.My meal came out and the eggs was undercooked the steak was like eating a rubberband cold chips. The table was dirty Also the service was awful.will not go there again.

Dinner was only just warm. Hot chocolate not even warm. Breakfast cold.

Samba was a superstar working at the bar! She was so helpful with our order remaining super professional and friendly and caring even when her till was having problems and the line was growing long behind us. She is a true asset to your team

We use the place alot to entertain kids. Do us a favour and get your temperature right please. It's either absolutely freezing or boiling hot. We sat by a heater I found last visit. Thanks 🙏🏼

Nice breakfast but food only Luke warm, shame. Dinner was great

Upon arrival at 5 pm, we were informed that no tables would be available until 6:30. However, by 5:15, I managed to secure a table online and was promptly seated. However, I couldn't help but notice a couple of concerning issues. Firstly, one of the bar staff, a young lady, was diligently working while another member of staff, seemed preoccupied with serving her friends rather than attending to the queue of waiting customers. This not only resulted in us missing out on the carvery but also left us feeling neglected as paying patrons. While I appreciate the ambiance of a local pub, it's essential to remember that every customer deserves equal attention and service.

Service was extremely poor unfortunately. We arrive at 16:45 to be promptly told there were no tables until at least 18:30. We decided to leave but upon leaving were struck by how quiet it was. I decided to look to see what booking were available and there were tables available at 17:15,17:30,17:45,18:00,18:15,18:30 (you get the picture). We booked a table for 17:15 and walked back inside to say we’ve not booked a table for 20 minutes time so will wait in the bar (to which we were met with the response “oh ok, well we’ve not cleared all the tables yet”). We’ve been here a number of times but today was disappointing. A few of the staff were working extremely hard, apparently in support of the one or two that couldn’t be bothered with anyone other than their “regulars” or colleagues. Numerous times I was queuing to order a drink and those “regulars” were able to order drinks at the other side of the bar whilst the rest of us queued to order food. On one occasion I observed a member of staff begin taking drinks orders from those at the other end of the bar whilst the rest of us were queuing in the “food” queue, as I was into ordering drinks, I assumed it would be ok for me to go the that end of the bar and order just the drinks, it wasn’t. She proceeded to take their order, pour their drinks (all this whilst other people were still waiting to order food), take a drink from them, poor her own drink and then walk around to the bar side and sit down to drink it. Today very much appeared to be a case of if you’re a regular you get served quickly but everyone else can wait. It’s a shame because most of the staff were really good and clearly carrying some of their less interested and able colleagues which should be addressed by leadership. A couple of those that were worth mentioning; tall guy with mop dark hair, younger guy with mousy brown short back and sides, tall lady with black suit type clothing and young girl with a grey jumper being the bar were all excellent. Younger girl with a red tshirt/shirt was less than interested in anyone other than those that she knew already.

The wait times are far too long for what should be simple items, most of the staff seem disinterested in even working, only one young guy seems to be doing any work and spends the majority of it apologising, I feel sorry for him. Most of the time the food doesn't come out as asked, like tonight I asked for my steak medium and it came out past well done. That's if they even have what you ask for in the first place. No mash, no orange juice, coffee machine broken, half the desserts aren't available. Not worth the time nor the money.

Air conditioner was blowing really cold. Short staffed. Very busy. Running out of food. Egg shell in my scrambled egg. Not very impressed

The food was great, had the full 3 courses, and the katsu curry was lovely. We went with my grandparents and they loved it. We wanted to thank Zack and Mary for their great service and friendliness :) atmosphere was nice to be in and everyone had a really good time.

Nice pub with great breakfast but they close way too early! I drove almost 4 hours after work and by the time I arrived could not order food which I accepted due to time but I was even refused a drink at 10pm as the bar shuts very early! I feel like a pub servicing a hotel should have normal bar hours if not slightly later.

A lukewarm breakfast with poor coffee, some items unavailable and disinterested staff.

Need to put on some type of beer other than dombar. Or bottle ales like Newcastle brown

We've been here many times now and it's always a pleasure. The food is great, the kids love it and the staff are super helpful and friendly, especially the manager Bill and our waiter Zack! Thanks so much!

A great atmosphere & brilliant value for money. I come most days with my colleagues for my lunch as i work on the business park. Bill always looks after us and very warm and welcoming! Maddy is a lovely smiley face on the bar also. Highly recommend and its lush in the garden in the summer 😊 thanks guys

What a friendly bunch of staff, couldn't do enough to help, a great lunch, kids had plenty to do in the soft play and ate all of their lunch. My burger was lovely and a very reasonable price. Thanks

Worse breakfast in a premier inn ive ever experienced. The lights were on but no one was in staff wise. Half asleep they were. A classic case of you pay peanuts you get monkeys🙈. Deffo not value for money either. Should have gone to Gregs around the corner instead.

Very good food. Perfect temperature. Staff were very inviting and Bill was very friendly and helped us to our table nicely.

Great spot for lunch whilst waiting on a windscreen replacement nearby, was the obvious place to burn some time. The venue is bright & spacious with plenty of seating, staff were highly attentive and welcoming throughout without being intruding. Food was hearty and well presented. Highly recommended

Wasn't informed that accompaniments to a meal were unavailable and was served food with substitutions without notice that likely would have changed more order had I known. Other than that it's a nice place and the food I was served was serviceable if unremarkable.

Having recently visited on Friday 9th Feb and enjoying our meal we invited friends to join us yesterday, regretfully we were disappointed with not only the service but also the lack of attention to cleaning, the entrance matting covered in dirt , disabled loo lacking toilet paper, also hand drier not working, ladies loo appeared locked. Staff didn't seem to be tidying as was so evident on our previous visit. Far too long serving our two sweets and it was obvious from the skin on the custard that it had been standing around for some time. Such a shame as we had hoped to make this a regular venue. We personally enjoy The Whittle in Glos but too far for our friends Suggest a spot check would be appropriate.

Food was good enough , but toilets , only one toilet available , excrement was on walls and on floor, sign on wall states toilets checked regularly, this toilet hadn't been checked , very dirty

Popped in today for a meal where we had excellent service from Sammy. Even though it seemed busy she was very accommodating. Nothing was too much to ask. Very bubbly and excellent customer service skills. A credit to the team

Had a amazing meal the other day and our server Sammy was just the kindest and most helpful and made sure that we were happy with our food, she made out experience perfect.

We had a lovely lunch here today, the food was fresh and delicious! All the adults and children cleared their plates and the puddings were scrumptious! We sat by the children's play area, so the children were able to come in and out as the please The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially Sammy who made sure our friend, who is coeliac, was catered for. We will certainly be returning.

14 of us visited Elmbury Lodge for a 21st celebration. The carvery in particular was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful staff with a bubbly environment and fresh food. I come here often and always have an enjoyable experience with festive flair around the holidays! I would recommend it to anyone after a family friendly environment! Had a wonderful service delivered by Bill one of the amazing members of the team that works here :D

Great service from Bill, good food, good wifi

We went as a large group which you couldn't book for. We booked 2 tables and asked to be sat close together. In an empty restaurant, they said this was not possible. Sadly, we had no other options nearby and were all hungry so had no other choice but to accept splitting our group up.

Delicious good quality food. Quick service. Well done to the chefs.

Elmbury Lodge is a classic pub environment but a few hiccups left me feeling unsure about the value for money. Here's the breakdown: Positives: * Friendly staff: The servers were warm and welcoming, despite the occasional mistake. * Mixed grill: This was the highlight – well-cooked and flavorful, even if the portion was a bit on the small side. * Unlimited refills: If you're thirsty, you'll definitely get your money's worth with the bottomless drinks. Negatives: * Order mix-ups: Missing hot chocolate and mismatched dessert additions (custard instead of ice cream) were small but frustrating errors. I will point out, the ice cream sundae was nice * Basic food: Everything felt straightforward and uninspired, lacking a little creative spark. * The card machine malfunction added to the feeling of not quite getting what we paid for. Overall: Elmbury Lodge is a decent option for a casual pub meal, especially if you're drawn to the friendly atmosphere and unlimited drinks. However, the price tag didn't quite match the experience for me. The occasional error left me unsure whether I'd rush back. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars, as it's not bad, but not quite memorable either. I hope this review helps you decide if Elmbury Lodge is the right spot for your next meal!

Second time been here and wouldn't recommend to anybody, just avoid and go somewhere else.. 45min wait for a starter Another 45-60 for the main meal Desert's 10-15min Staffed or short staffed, service at this location is subpar to even a local coffee shop. If you dare to ask what is happening with the food after waiting 1h they get snappy and you get "we busy cooking it" ...

Overall it's very nice with good value, quality food, but I wish they would not play the radio station over the speakers. I personally do not want to hear that with my meal.

We stopped for breakfast. Food quality really good. Its not all you can eat wait for cooked was over an hour. Unable to order more. Customer service did not exist very poor and rude.

Great breakfast for Christmas with all the family

Every visit has been a pleasure. Always greeted with a smile.

We popped into the Elmbury Lodge on our way to the midlands as it was conveniently located just off the M5. Unfortunately we never got to sample the meal and requested a refund as the service was extremely slow. After waiting 45 minutes for our main (even though the couple who ordered just before had already eaten their meal), we asked where it was and were informed that it was just being plated up. The reason for the delay was a large table of 10 at the same time as us. After another 10 minutes, we asked again only to be told to wait 2 seconds. We saw numerous meals coming out of the kitchen and so decided to cancel our meal and request a refund. The staff did oblige but never even issued an apology. The waitress service was fine but clearly there were issues keeping up with demand in the kitchen. The food being served around us looked reasonable but we never got to taste it.

Don’t bother. First time coming here to celebrate little ones 3rd birthday. Staff beside one lady was rude (the lady polite was from Worcester) didn’t ask if food was ok. Beans for the kids was disgusting. Looks like it sat there ages. Food was barely there and was solid. Me and husbands food looked like it was a kids plate tiny. The burger was cold and was solid. So you tap the burger and the meat and it was hard as well as the chicken. Dry and limp. Paid £73 for this ‘treat’ well never again. Go back to our town where our food is quality and the staff are polite and check on you and how your meal is. Least to say I wanted money bk. don’t waste your money

A tale of 2 halves. Evening meal - terrible food, over cooked and not very pleasant. Would have left negative stars if possible. Breakfast, complete opposite. Lovely food and service.

Having traveled from afar I was lucky to get a carvery at all which was sole reason for going. Carvery meant to be running till 6pm on a Sunday but just after I had been served about 4:50pm, the meat counter was closed and the vegetables which are meant to be available for top ups during the meal were cleared long before I had finished. Given I left the pub before 6pm, this seemed a bit hasty. Food was okay, bit tired. I may have to seek a place that guarantees a later service in future. Also not enough staff to answer the phone it seems. I tried four times the previous evening trying to check that I would get a carvery around 5pm all without success.

Coffee machine didn't work properly. Toaster was useless. Breakfast was barely warm. So overall not that good

We hadn’t booked but Zach got us a table. Lovely food, great Christmas atmosphere, efficient service. Zach made our evening very special.

Zack couldn't do enough for us and was very professional. Decent food and drink again. Lovely Christmas decoration and centrepiece tree. Play area still a massive plus for the kids. Location is superb when travelling from Malvern. Wish we'd known about the membership card before! Looking forward to a decent feed Boxing day when the 24 of us will be rocking up!!

Just want to mention how good Zack was during our visit, his attention to detail was very good, he was very professional especially dealing with a slight complaint we had, he dealt with it brilliantly and nothing was to much trouble for him

Decent place to take children due to the soft play and outside park area (if it's not raining!) Food was really nice and reasonably priced.

No mushrooms, were told would be 5 mins, no sausages or bacon, beans were luke warm at best, when we were leaving a lady brought out some mushrooms for us, 32 mins later. Unfortunately we were done waiting by then, sausages and bacon were replaced within 5 mins of there being none available.

The restaurant ran out of festive turkey meals. These meals did not include cranberry sauce or pigs in blankets so it was not with all the trimmings. Three out of six ordered desserts were not bought out at the same time. The order had not been placed. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Ate in today (12 lunch time on a sunday) seemed short staffed. We had Nachos with Chilli, Lasagne and Steak and Ale pie. Our food was sent to the wrong table who randomly had the same as half of our order so had to wait on meals and cutlery. Friend had the carvery which she said was ok.

Food was awful. Waited 40 minutes for food to arrive. The sundaes were half full and the sticky toffee pudding and custard was ice cold.

Had a great time with the kids for breakfast, brilliant food and the customer service was brilliant, Helen in particular 😀

Came for breakfast today and arrived with only 10 mins left. We were still welcomed and told to help ourselves. Food was obviously minimal due to the time but still got a full breakfast which was hot and good quality. Served by Helen who was friendly and attentive.

Absolutely disgusting, all food burnt within an inch of is life, definitely no chefs working in the kitchen, my 4 yeat old could make a better meal. The bar staff and waitresses were nice and the play atea is great. Get a proper chef and i would 5 star it.

Cracking day with family, Bill and the staff are very attentive, chatty and all round good vibe.

The hunters chicken was delicious. The place was very to noisy When you are a septinarion living alone a family friendly place is sometimes too noisy when people do not control their children .

Food is what you would expect from a all you can eat breakfast. So can't complain. The staff have changed a bit now and the atmosphere is different. Staff are jot as friendly as the last (but that said could have just been a bad day) will try again but having a member of staff huffing at you for warming croissants up isn't a great experience.

Although I had booked in for 10am for 4 people they stopped cooking at 10 so after greeting and sitting when we went up for food there wasn't much left at all, not enough for 2 never mind 4 !!

The place is ideal as it's next to the hotel and has plenty for the kids to do there. The only downside was their handling of my daughter being injured in their soft play. They were great on the day but trying to obtain the accident form was impossible meaning I need to chase up the company so that I can have it for my records. Had they been able to provide me a copy, or assisted me further, I'd have given them the full 5 stars

Had great service from Bill. We were there for a working meeting and lunch, Bill looked after us perfectly, good for working and lunch was good too. Perfect location as well, easy access to the motorway.

Went for a Sunday roast at about 1pm - not overly busy but there was little available in the way of vegetables etc. Probably should have ordered off the menu as usually brewers fayre food is reasonably priced and ok to eat. Not this time - spent £40 on roasts and drinks - 95% of the food was left on the plates by the time we left (no one ate it) and has put me off having a roast in any Brewers Fayre in future. Worst part was the gravy seemed more like dish water, customer in front of me had to ask for 3 fresh dishes before getting one that was actually clean.

Roast was supposed to be on until 6 non left at 5 tried for fish pie didn’t have any out of bbq sauce and yes no orange juice. A sort of CBA (couldn’t be arsed) sort of place. Sticky tables too

Absolutely disgusting food, 1 of our group didn’t get their meal, smothered chicken came burnt and not smothered, pies had no filing or gravy. The assistants had no idea at all. No sauces, cutlery, or manners. Shocking, won’t be returning.

We stayed at the Premier Inn Tewkesbury next door to Brewers Fayre. We had a table booked for 6:30pm. It was clear that there were a lot of large groups also booked for dinner. Despite this, we had great service from all the staff, who worked so very hard making sure everyone was looked after. We hardly had to wait for our meal. A special shout out to Helen and Charlotte, thank you..and the food wasn't bad either!
