Classic London pub with charm and great vibes We popped into The Dog and Duck while sightseeing in central London and really enjoyed the experience. It’s a classic pub with tons of character—beautiful interiors and a great atmosphere. We had a refreshing pint and soaked up the lively energy of the place. Perfect for a quick stop or a relaxed drink while exploring the city. Friendly staff, great location, and a proper London pub feel. Worth a visit!

Legendary pub. Atmosphere spoiled a bit by loud music. Not needed in a classic boozer like this people come to drink and chat, and many are outside anyway. Everything else great!

An upstairs oasis!! Must visit, SOHO is so busy at night but we walked upstairs and found a peacefully intimate dinner spot for two. I had the braised beef pie and it was fantastic. Great service and if you sit by the wi dow you can watch the crazy kids. Highly recommend this gem

This is how you imagine a British tavern. Small but cozy place. We ate here and it was a success. Small but very accurate letter. The meatloaf is great. Fish and chips better than what you usually find. We liked that they had non-alcoholic cocktails. The service of 10

This place is a real gem, the food is amazing shows some one has passion for delivering good quality food, the pub is an amazing Victorian pub the managers and staff are super friendly and helpful, I had my birthday lunch there and I was very happy with the food, dam good pint of Guinness too, you will not be disappointed should you chose to eat here, Resturant is small so book in advance I can not recommend more highly try the food the pies are extremely delicious

Great service with excellent food

Bernie was excellent. She took care of us. Got us the food we wanted the drinks we wanted and told us all the stories and the background of the dog and duck as well as many of the other related pubs. You couldn't pick a better pub hostess to visit in London.

Manager needs to be sacked and the (barman) needs to change jobs. Customer service so bad it is a stackable offence. Avoid

A classic Soho place with authentic British atmosphere, a ver good fish'n'chips, good beer and numerous interesting texts and pictures on the walls. Would love to visit again when I'm back to London!

One of the girls behind the bar is displaying highly inappropriate political content. It’s unprofessional, makes me question the work etiquette of this place and their management. I wouldn’t allow my employees to wear such divisive and hateful pins on their work clothes during work hours. This is not the UK that I chose to be part of it. Disgraceful woke girl

Scandalously overpriced; food well executed especially the pie, but very inattentive service. We were keen for another beer and got no attention. Atmosphere very lacking - we were the only guests in the room. This price is for four children (obviously not drinking).

The dining room of this pub is an oasis in the middle of Soho. We enjoyed an excellent meal served by the attentive Viktoria!

Excellent Soho pub. It was packed last night (7pm Wed), but good staff keep the booze flowing. It's great to stand outside soaking up the sights and sounds of wonderful Soho...

I must admit, it was first and foremost for the name that I came here. But this little pub satisfied me! Great selection of beers, helpful and kind staff. I didn't eat, but it's a Nicholson's pub with your usual menu (and beef pie!) The interior is very pretty too, a very good place to relax after a day of work or exploring the city!

Last wednesday 9.10 we were In London to visit The concert of David Gilmour in the Royal Albert Hall. At lunch time we were looking for a place to eat. Through my son we came to the Dog and Duck. Beautiful pub and Golden Sign outside. We asked to the very friendly lady if it was possible to eat. She said that upstairs this was. We asked a table for three. This was No problem. The lady upstairs was also very friendly. We had the beef pie and carbonara. It was delicious. Never ate something that delicious. When i told to the lady that we don't know pie in Belgium, she laught and said she could make a fortune with pies in Belgium. For very good food, Quick service and honest Price, you have to go to Dog and Duck. The place to be. Greetings from Belgium, Dirk, Maarten and Stephanie.

By incredible coincidence, just like on our holiday 11 years ago, we chose this pub for lunch. When we sought out the pub, we didn't realise it at first until we went upstairs to eat. The food was delicious the mashed potatoes soft and creamy and the sausage crispy finished with a soft sauce of caramelised onion. The staff was super friendly. I would definitely recommend this one for a nice cosy drink but surely something to eat too.

We just wanted some beer. It turns out we stayed longer and enjoyed everything this place has to offer. Atmosphere is charming and there is good history explained. Viktoria is so nice and made us feel welcomed. Her attitude really made us wanting to stay longer. Thank you for good times!

Great little pub, fantastic food and great service - Our waitress was named Bernie and she was the best, she answered all our questions and recommended the pies which were epic! She looked after us and we had a great time 😁

Popped in for an early evening drink in the bar and sat a a table. At 17:05 one of the bar staff placed a piece of paper on our table and walked off. It read "Reserved 17:30 3 people". So in effect we were being evicted from the table we were occupying without any explanation. The website says "Nicholson's pubs have always delivered a warm and inviting hospitality in each of our iconic, unique and historic locations". Not so at the Dog and Duck so we left to go somewhere more welcoming.

Great food and good beer, attentive service, gents toilets in the cellar could do with a refurb and the stairs to get to them were a bit tricky

Georgous pub with lots of history. Very busy when I visited on a Wednesday about 5:30pm. Didn't sample the food but you can't go wrong with Nicholson's.

This is the 3rd or 4th time back to this place. Great service, thanks to Bernie who works in the restaurant upstairs. She's friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is upstairs, it's not a big space so no chance of overcrowding or too much noise. I had the plant based burger which is served with salad and I had fries on the side. My friends had the chicken schnitzel and the buttermilk chicken burger which they loved. The food is top notch. I would definitely recommend going for a meal.

A lovely pub situated on Tottenham Court Road, able to sit outside, which is lovely especiallywhen the weather is good. The food was very nice too.

Incredible food, we still remember that burger. We ordered the cheese burger, a Guinness Keg and a Camden Brewery, all for £53. A place with a good atmosphere, we were on the top floor and although it is small it is comfortable. The treatment of the waitress was unbeatable.

This is hopping little Pub here in Soho. It's a great way to start your night with a good cider after dinner. Highly recommend!

Very generic Nicolsons pub. Tourist must love it but for me it has no atmosphere , went on a Saturday afternoon and the guys behind the bar just didn’t seem bothered.

Maria was outstanding throughout the booking process, her call to confirm, her call to warn us it will be busy and probably noisy(!), and a great welcome in person to the five of us plus our little dog ("Would she like some water? Some treats?")

I went for lunch for a steak and ale pie, was not disappointed. Really good, not stodgy like most. Very tasty! Good ale too, very fair price for central London. Service felt a little pushy at the end where the bill was put on my table before I’d finished my food. Apart from that service was friendly.

My friend and I visited The Dog and Duck today and had the most wonderful Sausage and Mash. I have had Sausage and Mash many times in other locations and this was by far the best ever. Highly recommend. The lady serving us was very efficient and got our food to us quickly as we were under a time pressure. Overall, an extremely good decision to go there.

We had lunch there before and we decided to return because we like the traditional English atmosphere and we had friends visiting from abroad who wanted to go to a traditional English pub. The staff are super friendly and the food is really good. Prices are reasonable within the acceptable for London.

Typical English Pub with unbeatable food. They serve you with kindness and the typical London food will not disappoint you. The eating area is on the top floor and from there you have nice views of the street.

The location is excellent, the food was excellent, the service was lovely, all so much so we were so surprised to get the upstairs dining to ourselves, probably between the lunch n dinner rushes. Cannot recommend highly enough and we'll definitely be back.

I visited on a Friday night and there were so many people it was difficult to order. Still, I recommend it if you like a crowded and hip atmosphere. It was nice that I could enjoy it while standing, and I often got a table seat. They say you can eat on the second floor, and the bathroom is clean.

We went to this pub that it's located in the centre of London, and it's a typical london pub. We asked for a table to eat something and we were attended by Mira, our waitress, that was very nice with us and that gave us useful suggestions about the food. We ate fish and chips and maccaroni and cheese. The food was delicious and the beers too. I recommend this place. Thank you Mira, it was a pleasure.

Pies! The steak-ale and chicken-mushroom are the recommended. Very flakey crust and delicious gravy with that mashed potatoes. Yum. Guinness was spot on. Definitely make a reservation because the place is a tiny upstairs 7 tables. Victoria was lovely - gave my daughter a duck kids menu and she gave us a bunch of suggestions for places to go around town.

A tiny pub that’s hugely popular after work. Most people stand outside round the pavement if the weather allows. Very few tables and space inside. Prices are typically high for central London. Atmosphere is lively enough. Music was playing indoors too. Decent enough for a drink or two if in the area.

We were extremely impressed by this English pup! Weekday lunch experience: First of all, it’s the best place to try traditional, authentic English food (we were tourists from the U.S.) We ordered the fish & chips and the shepherds pie and they were so delicious! The shepherds’s pie is a must-try dish, it’s incredibly flavourful and full of tenderly-cooked lamb shanks. I think this was my favorite. Second, the atmosphere is good. If you want to check out a traditional English bar where you will see aged staircases, old paintings and wood floorings, that’s the place. However, the place is very well maintained and extremely clean! We were there for lunch hour on a weekday; the restaurant wasn’t busy and we almost had the whole second floor to ourselves. While drinking beer, eating fish and chips and the pies and chatting with a local friend, we looked at the people on the street from the window, and understood why this place has inspired so many artists and poets in the past decades (and maybe centuries). Finally, the beloved staff Victoria is so nice and friendly, we felt her the hospitality! Last but not least (sorry I have too much to say), the bathroom is surprisingly clean and has concluded my trip to the restaurant.
