First, let me tell you about the positive points. The quality of raw materials was good. The restaurant staff are friendly (of course, this does not mean good service). The quality of Chenje meat was good, but unfortunately it had no taste. The grilled chicken only smelled and tasted too much of lemon. Even when beaten, it does not hurt the heart. It was too salty, and I guess the meat was minced with very fine ribs because the meat was pasty and had a sausage taste. The thing I hate is charging the customer for Noon Mirzagasemi. Dear Sir, raise the price of Mirzagasmi without charging for it, this move is very stupid. The service was not satisfactory. Of course, unfortunately, we see bad service in most Iranian restaurants and shops.

The first Persian restaurant we go to The truth is that the two lamb dishes we ordered were quite good. Lamb and lamb kebab in tomato sauce and hummus With incredible Persian bread Everything very good and a reasonable price for being in the UK

What a place, we came here originally in 2018 and had a great experience and decided to come back again now in 2024. We had an even better experience the second time due to Mr. Agha Mojtaba, he really made us feel at home and welcome. Service was excellent, and food was amazing. This place has such a cute atmosphere with Spoons as lights, framed bread, book lights, spoon walls and so much more. Definitely recommended.

Great Persian food in london... the place was quiet and service was quick when I visited late in the afternoon. Taste of the meat was exactly what was expected, and the portions were very satisfying. I will definitely come back over and over again.

I had dinner with my family yesterday.The place has a lovely decpration. The dishes we ordered were ok, as it was mu forst exoerience with that cuisine I can't compre it to other places. Here comes the big "but". In the beginning They brought us a bottle of water. As we are afamily of five, that meant a glass of water each, which we drank up as we had the starters. When the waiter came to pick up the empty dishes, we asked him to bring a second bottle of water. Ok. The main course came, still no water. No big deal, people can forget. So we asked another waiter for a second bottle of water. Water didn't come, and the waiter didn't come near our table until we had finished the main course, then it dodn't make sense to ask again. In short, we had dinner without drinking, and the exprerience was not agreeable. Not to come back.

We had Soltani Kabab, Bamieh, creamy Baba Ghanoush, and cool, minty yogurt with cucumber 🌟. Each bite was a journey - the Kabab melted in my mouth, Bamieh brought a tangy delight, Baba Ghanoush was a smoky dream, and the yogurt? Simply refreshing. With its cozy vibe and stellar service, this place is the go-to for Persian flavors in the city!

Great food and great value for the money. I’m not usually a big fan of Lamb but these guys definitely know how to make a Kubideh. I will go back!!

I am editing my previous 5 Star review leaving 1 Star for bad service! I have been coming to Hafez for well over 30 years, but tonight was the last time. I booked a table for 3 almost a week ago and on arrival was shown to a small table right next to the entrance door and separated from the cold by a curtain!! This is where the coat hooks used to be!! On asking for another tablet I was told that all the other ones are booked for four people and we can't expect them to squeeze 4 in around the small table that they have given to us!! We thanked them for their sterling service and left. We didn't get to tast the food, but if the food is anything like the service and attitude, then we probably were lucky to have missed it. I get no pleasure in writing this. Hafez has been a favourite of mine for decades, goodness knows to how many friends I have recommended it, but it looks like the old Hafez is dead! Time to move on!

Amazing starters: Shirazi Salad Main: I forgot to take photos as the food was really delicious and we were so hungry. Our order was: - fesenjan with chicken - gheimeh bademjan with saffron rice and asked them to add zereshk on top. Dessert: We were craving faloodeh but we were not sure if they had any desserts, so we jusy asked the waiter to know if they had faloodeh and saffron ice-cream, he said of course! I can %100 say it was the best faloodeh I have ever tried in my life. - you can see the photo below-

It was worse ever experience I found long hair in my salad Shirazi , when i mentioned to manager , they change it without apology but anyway i couldn’t eat that salad anymore as felt awful about hair. Also it was rude manager call Ehsan when i made query regarding one of charges in our bill ,he responded very aggressively and threatened me that he will call the police , because i wanted to know the reason for the charge however he use rude body language towards me and use his finger to tell me off. I have been to so many persion restaurants in London and Europe and never ever received such rude behavior, i would expected big apology for finding hair in thier salad which shows lowest level of hygiene and manager behavior but its wont happen in this restaurant. The food taste was very poor as well but its ok for one time , mostly manager behavior and customer service was unbelievable and rude . its waste of time to visit this place

Beautifully decorated Persian restaurant, one of the oldest in London. Wide choice of starters and mains prepared authentically. Staff are very helpful and can advise you if you're unfamiliar with the menu.

Excellent dishes and desserts ! Good and very kind they also offered us bread when we didn’t do because it was made for the dish

Very cute place, with excellent typical food. The waiters are really nice, they even offered an extra rice portion to go with the sauce of our dishes.

First time eating here, did not meet my expectations at all. Food was bland and presentation was average. They do not serve pickles at the table like most middle eastern restaurants, so we had to order the pickles, they were way too binegary and pungent , couldn’t eat them. The chicken breast kebab was most definitely not authentic Iranian kebab, and the food was served lukewarm, lacked saffron, and Flavours. The salad was basic green salad and no dressing. They are not focused on quality and service excellence, to say the least. Very disappointing, I won’t return here again.

It was a wonderful experience. We had Amir who was a super kind person to help us out with suggestions of dishes and with always a very welcoming attitude. We need more people like Amir in restaurants to create a special experience to all customers. Food was great so make sure you come visit the place and say hi to Amir from me 😎

Superb food, atmosphere, service and fantastic value. I came here with 2 friends for dinner and we had the perfect evening. It is clear that Hafez is a labour of love as nothing was too much trouble. I have eaten at many Middle Eastern restaurants and Hafez was by far the best I have experienced. Thank you!

The best Persian restaurant in London…period! I’ve been coming to Hafez for almost 8 years now. As a Persian who lived in Iran until adulthood, I can tell you that the food is as authentic as you can get. The restaurant is family-run and it truly feels that way when you step into the beautifully decorated environment and are greeted by the extremely attentive and friendly staff. Persian food is known for its Kababs, and nowhere does it better than Hafez. Koobideh Kabab is the king of all Kababs, however the Barg Kabab here is also delicious, amazing and tender, something which is extremely hard to do. Their Kashk-e-Bademjoon is almost as good as my mother’s! I order it everytime I visit. They are also very accommodating, offering off the menu items such as Tahdig with your Khoresht of choice, or grilled onions and peppers when asked. All in all, can’t recommend Hafez enough!

As a Persian / Swede I enjoy treating myself to proper Persian food once in a while. I took my mother for her 71st birthday. Reviews all seem good. The quality of the food was good but the portion sizes and ingredients fell short of what is expected of traditional dishes. Ghormeh sabzi had good quality lamb, but not enough lamb in there and a bit too heavy on the fenugreek. The kebab koobideh was of good quality but was missing some key ingredients (grilled onion, lemon and butter). Waiter told us afterwards that we would have to ask specifically for this which is not what you would expect from such a reputable restaurant. The khoresh fesenjan also didn't look terribly appetizing. It's a 3 star for me, as I feel the food could be a bit less "fusion" and more "traditional". The quality of the food was good, but portion sizes were small.

We ordered two main courses, in the menu says it comes with rice, salad and chips however it only came with little rice not happy with the portion and taste was okay not excellent

Oh my goodness this was AMAZING, honestly it was some of the best Persian food I’ve had since moving to London. I’m mainly vegetarian so it can sometimes difficult to find really good veg friendly Persian dishes that aren’t just the basics….so cue my excitement to find somewhere with Fesenjan on the menu!! Brought my mom here when she was visiting and she said it tasted like home. My favorite Persian food of all time since I can remember is mast-o-mousier so sharing that was a non-negotiable (it was incredible) and then my mom had the jujeh kabab with an extra skewer of kubideh and I had fesenjan with zereshk on the side because I only like rice if it has zereshk in it. We both loved the food so much. Not only was the food superb, the atmosphere was great and the staff were amazing. Def need to come back very soon. I would 10000% say whether you’re Persian, just love Persian food, or haven’t tried it but looking for a good place to give it a go- you won’t be disappointed coming here!

The boneless chicken, was absolutely delicious! The flavors were on point, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. However, I did find the kushk to be a bit cold. I'd definitely recommend giving the chicken a try, but perhaps ask for the kushk to be served warmer it was still good tho

It was my first time to Hafez resturant.. I googled persian resturants and the name came up .. I was visitng London.. I walked with my sister 45 mins to reach it .. I ordered Fensenjon and my sis ordered Bedmenjan meals , we were so excited however we got disppointed ,, foos didnt taste fresh, was not hot , my sis food was cold actually , tea was not good ,, overall It was a disappointed experience .. not goint back there again

Absolutely amazing. And flawless

Delicious traditional food, very fresh greens and nuts. I loved the lentil soup and the rose sorbet in particular. We were 5 people with different dietary preferences and all found the experience good. The atmosphere and the decor were nice too.

Hafez persian Restaurant I've known this restaurant for almost 25 years, but I hadn't been here since 2019. It has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, although they seemed a bit inexperienced. In the past, this place was known for being one of the best Persian restaurants around. However, I'm sad to say that the quality and taste of the food seem to have gone downhill. During our recent lunch visit, I found the food to be just okay. It really needs more attention to quality, and the flavors lacked the authentic seasoning I remember. It felt like the chef might not have been Iranian or perhaps was having an off day. I genuinely hope they can make some improvements because they used to be outstanding in the past.

The restuarant itself is nice, nice decoration, polite and friendy staff, etc. however, the food wasnt what we were expecting. we ordered mixed kebab and Fesenjan and kashk bademjan and mirza ghasemi for starter. starters were cold. but the taste was nice. koobideh and chicken didnt have any taste. fesenjan didnt have any special taste either.. sorry, didnt want to leave a bad review, but I had to give some useful feedback

Great decor and excellent food! The bread was warm and fresh from the oven, just perfect. I also really enjoyed the hummus and the Kashk-e Bademjan and the hummus. The charcoal grilled kebabs were juicy and flavorful. The rice could have been better, but aside from that, it’s definitely a 5/5.

Great Persian restaurant. Has been around over 40 years and family owned. We visited for lunch after we walked around Kensington Gardens — it is a relatively short walk depending on where you exit the park. It is in the Notting Hill area. We ordered the kubideh, barg, boneless chicken and the ghemimeh. Service and hospitality was excellent.

An outstanding Persian restaurant. The ambiance and decor are wonderful, make sure you look around the restaurant when you are there as you will see different and interesting things everywhere. The food is outstanding from start to finish. Was popular when we were there and would certainly highly recommend.

Excellent COVID-19 social distancing management, very tasty “koobideh“ and “Soltani”, reasonably priced and quick service, ashamed that their PDQ card machine wasn’t working properly!!!

Best food I ever tasted . Had the chengeh kebab with rice so tender and beautifully cooked . My partner had the fillet which was also great . The mix starter was so great that we thought that we won’t be able to manage the main but somehow we did ! The staff were as usual very friendly and tentative. The other thing I notice was that they spaced the dinners out in such a way that the new safety rules were observed which I think it was very responsible of them .

An Iranian friend suggested this place and we could not have been more satisfied. The place is very nice and cozy and the food is very good. We ordered a plate of olives as a started and then a soltani and a fesenjan as main dishes. The meat was soft and tasty. We also ordered a Turkish coffee and a cup of mint Tea at the end of our dinner and they brought some typical desserts too. Everything was perfect, both the food and the atmosphere. The staff was also super kind. we'll make sure to come back

I organised my boyfriend's birthday party at Hafez, and I couldn't be more grateful to the staff for their efforts.Booked about a month in advance with the manager who explained a set menu would be better for the number of people we had at the party (25). 5 of those attending are vegan, and there was lots of dishes for them to enjoy both for starters and main. The food was amazing, and they basically kept bringing more out until we pretty much couldn't eat any more.Still can't decide what dish was my favourite on the day, I will be back here at the first opportunity to try some more. Mixed grill, starter dips, everything was delicious.We were actually given a whole section at the back of the restaurant, which was a great set up for the party. The staff were super attentive and consistently checked in to make sure we were happy with how the evening was going. The courses were delivered in good time and no one was left waiting for anything. At any point in the evening, the gentleman who I assume is the manager was checking in with me as the organiser and giving options for how to proceed and advising from their experience for what would make the experience as smooth as possible - I really appreciated this!!We brought our own birthday cake and the team at Hafez did an awesome job delivering that to the birthday boy, all candles blazing, getting everyone on board with the good old "happy birthday" routine.Can't thank the team enough or recommend this place highly enough, really made the evening fantastic. The birthday boy loved his party, as did all the guests. Can't wait to be back here!

Let me be clear. This is a review of a delivery from this restaurant and not to be confused with the excellent food served in house.I paid £16 for one cold, broken up naan bread and a half tub of over oily vegetarian ghormeh sabzi. No rice.This was priced at £10.90 and everything else apparently is extra. However if you pay £12.50 you get the one with lamb and a portion of rice.Uber Eats washed their hands and no contact back from the restaurant.So avoid Uber Eats, avoid delivery and eat in house.Such a shame. Such a rip off.

There were 15 of us went for late Sunday lunch. The place is cosy with tasteful decoration and very clean.It was very busy and no one could get a table without reservation. It is a family owned Resturant for over 30 years.I have been to many Persian / Iranian Resturant’s in London and have my favourite list but this one goes on top of that list.We had starters, main course and tea.The food was very good quality ( not massive portions) and tasty. This includes starters and main courses. There were few fussy eaters and food critics amongst us but even they were delighted.The quality of service of a Resturant can truly be tested when they are very busy.Well they were very busy when we were there.They served all the main course at the same time and hot too. They knew who has ordered what food without asking around.The service was excellent and friendly.They also serve alcoholic drink too.I highly recommend them.Thank you for very tasteful food and service.

Unbelievably rude staff. The worst I’ve ever experienced in 35 years of dining out in London. Especially sad since every other Persian restaurant takes pride in their hospitality towards guests. We were so shocked at the rudeness we wanted to get out of the restaurant as soon as possible and therefore didn’t raise it with a manager. Clearly others have also written about the rude staff and lack of service. Instead of writing a sarcastic response back maybe you should just fix the problem either train your staff or replace them.
