Had a local society dinner here a couple of nights ago. In the run up to Christmas, such dinners can sometimes be a bit of a let down but not this one. The meal served by the friendly, helpful staff in very pleasant surroundings was very tasty and more than ample. My wife is Gluten Free but her diet did not cause any problem whatsoever. We will certainly return to try their Sunday Lunch, of which we have heard very good reports.

First time visit to Chart Hills Golf Club yesterday for Sunday lunch to celebrate a couple of family birthdays. Fantastic service and food in a lovely relaxed surroundings. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the main roasts perfectly cooked. Nothing was too much trouble; a thoroughly enjoyable experience; thank you!

Had a very enjoyable lunch last Sunday. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Yorkshire puddings were really excellent. Venue has large parking space and level pathways to interior. [If you have mobility issues use the left hand side carpark at the end of the drive] In all excellent value.

Well, we have no idea how others came to the decision that the food is great at this location. It could be misfortune that we went for a Sunday lunch but either way it was awful. The portions were ok but the meat itself had no flavour with the texture and taste that it had been boiled. My husband had the large roast, with 3 different meats and you could not tell the difference between any of them. They were all the same colour which in itself is strange, plus the gravy had no flavour and was as thin as water. Thankfully there is a good portion of veg and the best thing on the plate was the cauliflower cheese. The pub itself is nice and the staff very friendly, it's just a shame that it was the worst sunday roast we have ever had. To top it off we asked for a small portion of chips and beans for our son, because he would not eat the dinner, it came out with peas which he of course would not eat. Why would we order more peas when we had generous portions on the table already. Definitely up there with the worst £50 spent ever.

After a long period of absence we went for drinks here on Christmas Eve. Not a single pump was working and a small bottle of Peroni and an equally small (and disgusting) bottle of Prosecco was charged at £10! The manager was overheard telling another punter that they were “running down the stock” which translates to “we’re going to be closing soon”. Such a shame - this used to be an amazing pub years ago. Mis-management has led to the state it is now in. Bring back the former owners.

I came for a Sunday breakfast with my wife and child last month and had a very poor meal unfortunately. I had the breakfast sandwich, the bacon was tough no hint of being crisp with a layer of unrendered almost raw fat and mostly all barely warm. My kids had the pancakes and were expecting something light and fluffy but they resembled a stodgey scone with no real taste. My wife had a cold poached egg. I dislike leaving a negative review but we were all looking forward to breakfast and at £70 ish not cheap and not worth it. One thing - I had a nice coffee and good service - just very poor food.
