Food is bland and tasteless. Service is sub-standard. Whole operation just leaves you wishing that yo had gone somewhere else!

Oh dear- it was not good. Have been before but last 2 times it was poor. Won’t be back, sorry. The seating is stained and this is really off putting. I had a tasteless toastie with slimy cheese, slimy ham and slimy coleslaw. Not sure if there’s a new chef? There were no seats and a queue at greggs next door and diner was empty 🤷‍♀️

Visited as a couple in late November '23. Groupon deal, consequently this was good value for money overall, freshly cooked burgers and chips. followed by a desert. lots of bad previous reviews mention the 3 x cucumbers & poor quality coleslaw - i have to agree.and I'm surprised this hasn't been removed or changed from the menu offering. Can't fault the quick freiendly service though, and fast delivery of our menu choices. Overall. good value for the Groupon - not sure I'd be happy to pay the full whack though.

I live locally and had been meaning to try the place for a while and decided to go with a friend for lunch. Genuinely really surprised at the negative reviews as everything was cooked fresh, we both tried the burgers and waffles. The portions were huge and tasted delicious. The draft drinks at £2.99 were refillable. You don’t see that often. We couldn’t finish our waffles and ended up having to take them home with us. Only negative thing about the meal was the quality of the coleslaw was not of the highest quality I’ve tried otherwise everything else was lovely. I would definitely return and try some of their other offerings. Clearly popular as the place was kept busy with people also popping in for take aways.

Surprised this place is still operating the cheapest of ingredients burger tasted like paste, toastie was greasy and tasted of grease with the thinnest bread ever, chips cold, menu said homemade coleslaw was definitely not, soup tasted like cheap tinned tomato Juice tasted like cheap fraught juice

We had fish and chips with bread and butter which was great.We also had coffee.Mum had a waffle and fruit which was expensive but massive but a bit soggy and tea. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and we would return.Not busy so no real atmosphere but not bothered about this.

A nice friendly diner with good food 😋

Delivery took forever. Food arrived lukewarm. Biggest issue was just eat delivery. Pizza delivered on its side with toppings on the side of the box. Guess it’s build your own pizza. The Diner blames just eat and said I need to apply to them as it’s not their fault. They use them for deliveries so as far as I am concerned they are responsible. Have ordered 3 times with various issues but keep thinking will be ok next time. Learned lesson avoid delivery by just eat.

Waited 25min for a roll and bacon with only 4 ppl at other tables that had already been served no napkins when I asked the waitress rolled her eyes and came over and stuffed them in the tin with the cutlery : it would have been polite to have handed one to me : then omg 😱 cheep tomato sauce 🤮 ::: bring your own Heinz tomato sauce::: then went to pay asked for the bill there it’s there the waitress said omg think she got out of bed the wrong way before I left I told her to read the reviews so if you read this please please smile at your customers and don’t roll your eyes when something that we ask for is not on the table …… I would have left a tip but not attitude like that shocking for a young woman if you don’t like the job look for something else

Very nice, relaxed environment. Really nice staff. Ali the chef is on point, he is very careful for those who have dietary intolerances. The tomato soup is the best I have had in years. The kids got good sized adults pizza for only £6, they couldn't finish it and took it home. Fries are banging and the best ketchup I have had in a while. large portions so more for your money. We liked it way better than the Italian place next door.

Just back from a lovely little late lunch with hubby on a Groupon deal. A burger with fries, and a milkshake or dessert for 2. Hubby had the classic cheese burger, I had the chicken burger... He says it's one of the best burgers he's had! My chicken burger was amazing too, which was accompanied by sliced cucumber and coleslawwith lettuce and mayo on the burger.... The fries arrive in little dinky baskets and they are plentiful!... Lovely skinny, crunchy little fries... Sooo good!...sauces available too, just ask...really,really enjoyed it!.... For afters, hubby had the Boscoff milkshake, again, clearing his glass and declaring it to be really good!.. I plumped for the banana split.... Which was AMAZING!.. beautifully presented too... There are different types of burger to choose from, and you can replace the fries with onion rings if you wish.. Also a good assortment of shakes and desserts... Well worth the deal... Staff were very nice and seemed genuinely pleased that we had enjoyed it so much...so much soI went straight home and purchased another Groupon deal!... Looking forward to returning already!!!

bro how is a place run that bad like. got served the most burnt burger of my life (literally a bunch of ashes on a plate) by an employee literally dripping in stress — kinda like the leaky pots here if ykwim. decided to try the burger anyway and the taste dawg.. i dont think it was just bc of the burntness...... anyways keep up the bad work also be a bit kinder to ur employees she looked like someones nan just died

Very basic cafe..not much refinement in the way the food is presented. Quite coarse toasties and strigy cheese. Tea was good but pots leak all over the place when full. Staff are nice but quite shy.. wont hurry back. .

Went on a date, got served, good price, maybe more customer interactions to check on the meal and to seat us. Loved it, definitely coming again.

Coffee was nice enough a bit strong for a cappuccino. Black pudding was vegetarian had no taste and was mushy. Rolls didn't taste fresh at all. Prob won't return to be fair

The absolute worst, cold food. Poor service. No organisation. Quality poor. Charged me the wrong table number, then had to go back and pay again as they wouldn’t let my grandson go until I paid the correct table.

Very busy had to wait a while to be served only two staff serving. Breakfast was good the toast could have been done little longer the tea pot I had the lid would not close properly leaked when you tried to pour it into the cup staff a vey friendly helpful.

2nd visit give the benefit of doubt on the first but no absolutely terrible watered down sauces rude service and highly overpriced for at best cafe food at restaurant prices

If MacDonald is fast food, then this is slow food.. difficult economic times for restaurants.. In fact it took 47 minutes for 4 pieces of the fried chicken to come.. it would have taken me less than this starting from scratch..

Great little dinner with fantastic food and service

Nice diner, friendly staff, not a bad menu, however in saying that our chicken on a waffle was just a bit too crispy as you can tell by looking at the picture, there's plenty of parking at the Avenue shopping centre.

Very impressed with the quality of burgers . This is no McDonald’s this is proper burgers . E.g. a fish burger has a hole fillet of breaded haddock , halved . The beef ones I believe are from few doors down quality local butchers. Very nice staff , definitely recommend

First class service from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. Food is amazing and the portion sizes are more than enough. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely meal, the burgers were lovely, really fresh with mountains of fries and onion rings . The owner/manager was great, checking personally that our meal was to our liking , Keira who served us was great and couldn’t do enough for us, I would highly recommend The Diner , we will certainly be back . Thanks again for the great food and service .

Wow wow wow Really loved the burgers hot dogs milkshakes and the fries were to die for! The dessert started off slow given we were full but surely we cut through it with much gusto! If you are visiting defo try the fire burger and the cookies milkshake! We went with our family, felt super welcome and the service was great too! Will be my regular haunt from now! Superb superb superb all around!

Reena & her colleagues were very helpful and pleasant. They made us feel comfortable. Place was clean and tidy. Food was very well made, good quality and quantity was good. We got a Groupon voucher which is well worth it. For any extras had to pay extra which is fair. One of the best milkshakes we have had.

Service could have been quicker. When it did arrive it would have been better if it was what I ordered. Took another age to get it right

First time visit with my boyfriend yesterday and we were very impressed. The bistro burger was absolutely delicious and he said the vegan hot dog was the best thing he’d eaten in ages! And we both agreed the fries were perfect too. The food, combined with the friendly service, means we will definitely be back.

Quick stop for tea and cake while our shopping. The Victoria sponge is amazing and a big portion too

I use the diner in the mornings for a cup of tea and I filled roll. Comfortable clean and great back ground music. The service has been very good with the staff being polite and efficient. The pot of tea is 2.50 a d I get 3 full cups out the pot. The square sausage is very well cooked and hot. No complaints at 2.50. I haven't tried the burgers but I'm sure their great. My wife is disabled and in a wheel chair. Could be tight if a wee bit busy but it's a converted jewlers shop so we can't have everything.

Had the most delightful afternoon brunch with the girls here. Location is fab, service is on point I had the New Orleans Shrimp, the Spring Rolls & the Fillet Cheese Steak honestly the most unique flavours definitely coming here again service is fabulous.

Quality service from the guys and an excellent standard of food. 10/10 and will be back!

First visit today and would definitely go back. We had the warm apple pie with ice cream. It was delicious. The pastry just melts in the mouth ❤️ The waffles with Nutella banana and strawberry were also absolutely delicious. Coffee was great too. Fab service from friendly attentive staff. Couldn't fault this place. Definitely recommend a visit!

Love the vibe of the place. The food is amazing, the staff is great, and very attentive- we were served by Chloe, Reena and Pablo and we were very happy with the overall experience . This has definitely become my go-to place and the best part is that all the meat they serve is halal!👍🏻😍❤️

Burgers where really nice and nice staff only problem was the music was waay to loud it gives customers a headache and is hard to hear people talk apart from that really nice and great to have American food that's halal also if you show a halal sign on the outside you will attract alot more customers it isnt clear it's halal there isn't many places that are halal in the area so I'm sure u will get alot more people if u make this clear

Had to wait over 30mins for a takeaway and the food was so tasteless and had to throw the food out as it was so bad.
