From the moment I stepped into the tea room, I was welcomed with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional experience. The service provided by Michael was nothing short of outstanding—his attentiveness, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel truly special. Gustavo worked his magic behind the bar, creating the most incredible cocktails and teas, each one crafted to perfection. And to top it all off, Michael overheard our conversation and surprised us with a beautifully presented birthday plate, making the occasion even more memorable. The entire experience was flawless from start to finish, and I couldn’t be happier. A huge thank you to the team for making our visit so special—I can’t wait to return! Highly, highly recommend!

The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon at Fortnum & Mason is an elegant and refined setting, where every detail is carefully curated. The atmosphere is classic and sophisticated, making it a lovely spot for afternoon tea. The staff is exceptionally polite and attentive, ensuring that guests feel well taken care of. The tea selection is outstanding, as expected from such an iconic establishment. However, while the food is enjoyable, it doesn’t quite reach the level one might expect for the price point. There are three menu options—Standard, Savoury, and Vegetarian—catering to different tastes. Speaking of the price, it is undeniably steep. That being said, indulging in afternoon tea here is a luxury experience, not a necessity, so it’s ultimately a personal choice whether it's worth it. The live piano music adds a wonderful touch, enhancing the overall ambiance. The biggest downside? A 12.5% surcharge added to the bill without any clear explanation. Given the high-end reputation of Fortnum & Mason, this feels in poor taste and slightly dampens the experience.

I recently visited Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon for afternoon tea with a close friend who was visiting from Scotland, and we had the most delightful time! From the moment we arrived, the entire team was incredibly attentive, warm, and friendly, making us feel so welcome. Their kindness and professionalism truly made the experience special. We were absolutely amazed by the food- it was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. The fact that we could replenish items and enjoy more tea made it even more special. The tea selection was outstanding, and the staff’s knowledge was impressive; they took the time to explain the different teas and food pairings, making the experience feel even more luxurious. A huge thank you to Michael, who provided excellent service throughout, and to Gustavo, who did an amazing job as always. A special mention to Mbaye, who brought out our food and carefully explained each item, going through them one by one with such detail and enthusiasm—it was truly appreciated! Everything about this experience was fantastic, and I can’t wait to come back again as soon as the next opportunity arises! Highly recommend!

On this visit to Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, I was seated in the Piccadilly side salon, which is a smaller, more charming space compared to the other bigger side, where I’m usually seated. It was a quieter day, which gave me the lovely opportunity to meet the entire team—and what a wonderful team they are! The service was absolutely exceptional—attentive, thoughtful, and full of warmth. Every detail was carefully considered, making the experience feel even more special. Amaiya did a fantastic job alongside Michael, Marela, and Gustavo, all of whom provided such kind and professional service throughout. A special mention to Mbaye, who not only brought out our food but also took the time to explain each dish so beautifully—his knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. It was such a pleasure to be looked after by such a dedicated and talented team. Their attentiveness and attention to detail truly set them apart. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return!

My family and I enjoyed very much of our afternoon tea experience at the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. We especially enjoyed the savory afternoon tea as this was quite unique compared to other afternoon tea sets only offered sweet delicacy. Service was attentive and excellent. Ambience was first class. A must go experience even it is only once in a lifetime.

I have frequented this salon many times, I would say this time the attention to detail hasn't been the same. The cake table has now been removed and replaced with Macaroons..not my favourite thing. I've had better experiences overall but still a good place to try the afternoon tea experience

I wish I had gotten everyone's names. Fortnum and Mason, in general, is the stuff dreams are made of! Now add afternoon tea to that! Wow! I had a little tea lesson and tasting by a lovely girl, originally from Seattle, before my tea started. That was really fun and she was great. My waiter was also amazing and so friendly. The food was great! I loved the sandwiches and scones best! The sweets on top were a but heavy, but I find that to be generally true at other afternoon teas. It was truly so beautiful! The pictures shown online don't do this place justice! And how I loved the China! Shopping is wonderful. The store is just glorious! Thank you!

115€ for tea, basic and tasteless sandwiches and cakes that are nothing more than very sweet. At this price, you expect an unforgettable experience, which was not our case at all. Not to mention that the piano in the hall is too loud. In short, in my opinion there are better things in London for less money. In summary: we can clearly do without it and above all we have the impression of having fallen into a good tourist trap.

Ah so disappointing! We’d been waiting since before Christmas for this! We booked afternoon tea for the second time as the first time (a few years back) had been outstanding. This time round all the little perks were gone!…….the pianist and the amazing box of cakes given to you (after the tea - as well as) as a treat to take home. This is what made it special and the price all the more reasonable. Sadly today there was none of that and I’m sorry to say the tea was nothing more than average. Nil exciting. The sandwiches were classic, the scones small (x2) were cool not warm and the cake selection was poor (we left a few as they tasted rubbish - tasteless and really bland!) So disappointing Fortnum & Mason. We expect more for the money we pay. It was nothing more than style over substance. Everything felt mass produced. Would sadly no longer recommend!

Our waitress was amazing, she alone deserves 5 stars. But the experience overall was disappointing. We went for my birthday and it started off by them barely acknowledging us, then seating us late. The staff forgot twice to bring me a tea cup, then one of our tea cakes was really off (either the ingredients had spoilt or someone used wayyyy too much baking soda), and the other staff forgot (again, a few times) to bring our tea sandwiches. I wanted to love this experience because we’ve gone for afternoon tea all over the world, and this was supposed to be the crème de la crème. But it was a bit of a letdown unfortunately because the overall service was far inferior to what I had expected.

We had high tea here over the summer and it was absolutely wonderful! I have a severe treenut allergy but was thrilled to find that they have a nut free menu. The staff were absolutely fantastic, being sure to acknowledge my food allergy, and multiple members of the staff came out to our table to assure us that everything I was eating was nut free. As someone who is very careful with allergies, I felt so safe here and it was so exciting to get to partake in all of the elements of high tea while not fearing for my life. In addition, everything was delicious and the variety of different pastries, scones, etc. that we received was amazing. My long-awaited afternoon tea🥹♥️✨ Tea, scones, savouries, sweets... whatever you choose, it's delicious. Each dish is voluminous and rich in flavor, so it will fill you up. I pride myself on having a sweet tooth, but it was hard to eat the sweets on the top shelf without a drink. It's quite sweet compared to Japanese sweets... Since I couldn't finish all the food, I asked them to wrap up some to take home, and they included a few macarons as a bonus. The waiter was very kind and made us feel comfortable.

The biggest scam in the world, please don't go, it is absolutely a lie that it is something special, even the waiters' uniforms look shabby, not to mention the food, any 5-year-old child makes those sandwiches, the biggest mockery I have ever had in my life. The sweets are lousy, the atmosphere is NOT chic, you can buy the desserts at any bakery for €1 and as if that were not enough, they gave us less macaroons than we were given. In other words, they only gave us 1 per person and at the other tables 2 per person, it's nothing out of this world but for what it costs it's very annoying.

Lovely building and interior but let down massively when I paid over £100 for the experience only to be left with intense stomach pains and food poisoning within 12 hours of eating here. I contacted them on WhatsApp and was passed around to 3-4 customer service team members over 2-3 days with no resolution. Eventually I was given a form to complete after complaining and had no response for a number of weeks. Eventually told it was “investigated” but it couldn’t possibly be caused by them. Offered no compensation or apology whatsoever. terrible customer service. Go somewhere else!

Much, much too expensive! 80 euros per person and you can't share a menu. All this for tea, cakes which all taste almost the same (identical cream for everyone) and quite ordinary little sandwiches. In addition, the service was not up to par at all: an almost rude waitress, a stained lamp on the table, we had to wait 15 minutes standing even though we had reserved. A tourist trap, surely one of the worst in London. Go to the first floor, they sell the same thing 10 times cheaper!!

The WhatsApp ‘help’ chat is useless - big delays in responding to anything and then ask you to repeat info you’ve already provided, eventually they said they would resend the gift card email to the recipient (hard to resend something when you didn’t send it in the first place) but it has still not been resent so they have my money but my stepmum does not have her birthday gift. Disappointing and unnecessarily expensive experience. Will NOT recommend this to others. We noticed early on that the customer service was not quite top notch as the waiter seemed strained and not particularly pleasant right from the start. Several types of tea we tried to order from the menu were unavailable and for the amount they charge for the experience you should expect them to have what they have listed on the menu. I needed the arrangement of food that had been announced in advance, and then got sandwiches with the same type of toppings as the others, which was too much of a good thing... no arrangement with other varieties. We were also asked if we wanted to bring the rest of the food in a to-go bag, only halfway (!) into the meal. Other guests around us had been sitting longer than us, so we got the feeling that they wanted to clear the table as quickly as possible. Disappointing to say the least for the £190 you paid for the 'experience'.

This was disappointing on many levels. I have had afternoon tea at almost every high-end hotel in London, as well as stores like Harrods. The good: service is very polite, surroundings are luxurious and the F&M tableware is beautiful. The bad: sandwiches were very average, and vegetarian sandwiches were quite bland. The Scones were small, mostly cold and very hard. The sweets were also quite bland apart from the miniature rose éclair. Summary: food produced in bulk with very little love. At over £80 per person we felt robbed because none of us wanted to take advantage of the "bottomless" sandwiches and scones. The tea was good, but then most venues serve good tea. My advice is to avoid the big names like this and try Brown's Hotel in Mayfair which has always served excellent afternoon tea. Fortnum & Mason if you're reading this, sort it out! Little touches like adding truffle to the egg mayo, having chefs put time and effort into more decadent sweets, making things fresh, warm and fluffy instead of hard and bland - you can do better.

It's been a family tradition for numerous years to have festive afternoon on Xmas eve with our children at F&M. However, Dec 2024 will probably be the last time we do it. We always order the high tea as we love the savoury options. However, the offering last year of festive cakes left a lot to be desired. The children's afternoon tea was also nothing special. The room was overly crowded and busy....service very rushed and we were made to feel like we needed to eat quickly. When we arrived at 3:45pm, we were told we would have the table until 5:30pm. However, the bill was brought to our table just before 5pm. This is one of my pet hates...receiving the bill when I haven't asked for it! Sad that it has now become like the Ritz where they just want to turn over tables. A better option for afternoon tea is the newly refurbised Georgian restaurant at harrods. Afternoon tea in a much more beautiful setting, with far better food and service! Spend your hard earned pennies there instead for afternoon tea!

Went as a special treat with my partner. The food is pretty mediocre. We had the classic afternoon tea. The actual tea was excellent (Royal blend) but the food was very basic. The patisseries were particularly bland and just look good in photos. The price is ridiculous for the quality. Our initial waiter was very professional and polite. At the end of the meal we found it difficult to get the bill so asked a different waiter. The interaction with him was very inappropriate for a place like this. I was asked where I was from and I stated Venezuela. The waiter responded "oh you are from a country like Russia, communist". Considering the political state of Venezuela at present I found this comment very insensitive. I paid alot of money for the experience, to receive an inappropriate comment by someone not directly impacted by the political situation. I would be mindful of staff bringing up politics, particularly current events.

A disappointing experience. There was cake under our table from the previous guests, we had to ask twice for it to be cleaned up. The loose tea stayed in the teapot too long, leading to a bitter taste, the leaves should be strained after a few minutes to keep your tea from over-infusing. The scones were not fresh nor warm, overly sweet. A last detail, that should matter when following etiquette as this is a rather traditional place : men were served before women which felt a little rude.

I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason recently, and our waiter, Brendan, truly made it an unforgettable experience. From the moment we were seated, they were attentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the tea selection with expert recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes.Their attention to detail was impeccable, ensuring that everything was served with precision and elegance. What stood out most was his genuine enthusiasm and kindness—he took the time to make us feel special, engaging us in delightful conversation while maintaining a flawless level of professionalism. The exceptional service elevated an already stunning setting into a truly magical experience. It’s rare to encounter someone so dedicated to ensuring their guests have the best possible time, and we can’t him them enough for making our visit to Fortnum & Mason so memorable.

2/5 for the texture and taste of the sandwiches, savouries and cake/pastries 2/5 for the service. At this price I expected far better groomed, liveried and white gloved servers 2/5 for the ambience. It was simply too crowded and noisy. The table for 3 was terribly small. The Queen would never take tea in such a place and would, like me, be appalled at the poor value for the high priced tea. 84 pounds for the savoury tea & 82 pounds for the afternoon tea.

Very disappointed with this experience that I had dreamed of doing for years. Almost €100 per person to eat sandwiches barely better than a sodebo, crazy scones and little pastries that are way too sweet. Frankly old-fashioned decor, impeccable service and luckily the tea is perfect. It is better to settle for tea at the café on the 1st floor. Tourist trap

Teas seem nice. Not a tea expert but I do enjoy what I bought so far.

How can I put it, I didn't know but the chocolates and fruit jellies are rather pleasant in the mouth. But damn it’s not affordable. As the saying goes: All there are pigeons rising. “Well, I admit, I was part of it that day.” Go to more.

A fun experience for first time tourists; however, the service was severely lacking and we were charged a compulsory 12.5% service fee. We were told that the afternoon tea sets would allow each of us to switch teas twice. But because we could never flag down our waitress and our requests were responded to so slowly, we were only able to switch teas once before being told they needed our table back. We also ordered four tea sets but were only given two sets of the top plate of items. We had to request the other two sets and we were told that we needed to leave before even receiving one of them. When they were delivered, the servers refused to clear any of the dishes on the table and just handed the new plates into our hands. Our waitress then immediately came by to pack them up and hand us the bill. In general, the food was mediocre but the tea selection was quite nice. We also tried the tea tasting experience but our waitress had to check three different times and get back to us on what this entailed since she kept giving incorrect information. This ate into our table time as well. Pretty disappointing and would not return for afternoon tea.

We enjoyed our afternoon tea and shopping trip. The food and tea were good, and we enjoyed finding some goodies to take home. That being said, I wouldn’t go to tea again. The value of the experience didn’t align with the cost for me. It felt as if they stuck us in a back room, and we couldn’t even hear that piano music any longer. They placed us back there with these super loud groups of people, and we were only a party of two. The staff was friendly, and our service was good; however, I wasn’t blown away by the £84 per person price. I would go shopping again, but skip the tea.

Very disappointing: the service is perfect but the food much less The finger sandwiches are delicious but the very dry scones and the pastries (apart from the rose éclair which is perfect) are disappointing and disgusting Finally, the atmosphere is more like that of a station hall than a tea room. There are much cozier tea times in London but move on with this one

A quintessentially British afternoon tea. Beautiful customer service by very knowledgeable waiters/waitresses. Elegant surroundings with a pianist who takes requests. Very expensive but you get what you pay for.

We booked in advance for my husband‘s 45th birthday. We only had the weekend so it’s very convenient to book ahead. It was a fantastic experience and the afternoon tea was amazing. Make sure not to eat before the afternoon tea because you get a three course meal. Thank you for making my husband a special dessert for his birthday. We now understand why Langham has the best afternoon tea in London. Everything we ate is a piece of art and every bite was a feast in your taste buds.

Popped in for a drink on sat afternoon but after paying £16.20 for a lager and a single gin and tonic I won’t ever go back why everywhere you go you get ripped off no need 😤😤😤

Popped in for a pint. I was offered a deal on beer on the condition I could pull some cards out of the wall. A bizarre and impossible challenge. Our friend Marius proved it was possible and also came to our table and left us gob smacked by his magic tricks. Great pub, Lovely team (especially Marius), And we didn’t eat, but the other table’s food looked incredible. Thanks!
