The Devonshire Arms in Kensington and Chelsea

A very average roast dinner, parsnips were raw, roast potatoes were just boiled potatoes. No veggie options on the kids menu so my son had chips as that's all they had. Slow service despite being empty with lots of staff. A good looking pub in a good location but wouldn't go back

Gastro style pub with a great atmosphere over two inside areas. We sat in the quieter non bar area and was very comfortable. Food menu is good and great tasting. Good service and wine choices

We chose to have a drink here as the Pub looked attractive. It has the “scan QR code” system to order and pay at tables. However, in the drinks menu on the table, there were no prices listed for the soft drinks, or hot drinks. None. So my husband had to go and ask. Disinterested, unfriendly staff. Answered in monosyllables. All a “take it, or leave it” attitude. The “turn on their heel” type. My husband apparently did think to just leave. Me too. Independently. But we persevered, had our drinks and left. Two of these male staff sure left the hospitable out of hospitality.

The food and atmosphere was great and Danny who served us was very friendly. Plenty of good choices on the menu. Recommended.

Went for a Sunday Roast, one of the most disappointing I've had in some time. Vegetables were basically inedible, roast potatoes were not roasted, they had been shown to an oven, and the yorkshire pudding was limp and very undercooked. Lamb was OK, if again over cooked.

A really beautiful pub. Kind staff, and a really decent menu. The area feels super green and lovely to walk through on a summers day. There's a great beer garden with shaded areas and covered by lots of foliage. We'll definitely be back

My niece and I visited this pub for dinner. We enjoyed it very much. The food was great, the atmosphere was very pleasant, the service was quick and friendly. One should book the table in advance as this place is often enjoyed by many guests.

This is a great local pub and restaurant in Kensington. The service is exceptional and the food great. Danny was our server and he definitely make the visit memorable. He was happy and engaging, with lots of laughs. We had the fish and chips and a burger that night. The food was excellent and presented well. good value for money. we went back on the Sunday for the roast and it did not disappoint. Every time we stay in London this is a favourite we visit without fail. Would recommend

This place is a gem! The warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food make it a must-visit. Their daily chef’s specials are outstanding, and the craft beer selection is top-notch. Perfect for a casual pint or a full meal.

Very nice pub in west London. Lovely beer garden and cosy dining area. Drinks are served cold and food is delicious :) Danny is a great host and made the experience that much better. He came over to my table and had a little chat with me. The staff in general are pleasant and work hard to keep the pubs atmosphere a warm and friendly place to be.

Great restaurant. Great experience! Great food, and Danny was a great server! Highly recommend! Food selection was superb for a pub and they even had more selections that were atypical of a pub environment. It allowed patrons to have pub food as well as nice alternatives for a savory pallet.

Great atmosphere to watch the football and fantastic food. We had the goats cheese salad and skewers, very tasty and fresh. Service was great by Danny and they are also incredibly dog friendly too. We will definitely be back!

This place is consistently good with a steady team and ever present, ever smiling Ana. The food never disappoints with good sized portions.

I had really high hopes for this pub, however, my experience did not live up to my expectation. I ordered the nut roast which when arrived was not cooked inside. It was soggy and cold, meaning I paid £17 for a Yorkshire pudding, 4 small potatoes, some cabbage and carrots. I told the waitress who turned up to put table 15mins after we had finished eating and offered me another roast, by this time I did not want. 20% was taken off the bill overall, but personally it should have been taken off the bill. As the discount did not cover the cost of the roast. The pub was not busy and the staff we difficult to get a hold of to order more drinks or even mention the meal. In the three hours we were there the staff came to the table 4/5 times. In general not a great experience and would not recommend, nor return.

Visited with friends for a meal and some drinks. The food was very nice and service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely come back.

Food was excellent, only went there on the off chance, so glad we did. Definitely worth a visit, very reasonable prices as well. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Hidden treasure from Holiday Inn High Street Kensington W8. Very busy due to the tasty foods and the friendly serving staff welcoming you back. I highly recommend coming here but make sure you book in advance. Chicken wings, fish & chips and chicken pie and chips. All meals was perfect. No complaints. We will come back again. Thank you for a great evening tonight. Love my Guinness too

I cannot commend the service enough - Andy was an absolute hero! Come here for some epic pork belly and impeccable waiters.

Had a wonderful lunch today and found my new favourite pub! Definitely COVID secure which is important to me, Andy was very helpful and the menu choices were lush, would recommend the goats cheese tart and the pork belly. I was indoors but noticed the garden which was lovely with fairly lights running all round.Honestly can’t wait to go back, great team and great bar :)

Friendly time with nice atmosphere, can get busy very quickly and would definitely book ahead if you want the garden! Also, Covid safe with friendly faces, a mixture hard to find these days.

Me and my friend both broke up with our boyfriends and wanted a close by the pub to have a chat. As soon as we entered the door Andy took us in even if we did not have a booking, Praful made sure we got the right drinks and Laura was the perfect girl to girl waitress. A really nice pub with friendly staff. They seemed a bit understaffed, but dealt with it without any hindrance to the customer service. The guy in charge (Andrew, I think) was really helpful. Will definitely be visiting again!

This is a great pub in Kensington. Really modern decor, friendly staff and a really nice atmosphere. Buzzy without being noisy and annoying. People make an effort to dress up and enjoy a great evening with friends and family over a pub meal. Menu offers a good selection. Vegan burger for vegans like me. The fish and chips were good although the fish was a little tasteless? The chips served with the fish & chips are delicious. The chips served with the burger more typical thin chips. Reasonable prices. Good Covid-19 practises in place. The only thing we found a bit annoying was the music. Loud radio. My helpful hint is make a booking to avoid disappointment. This pub is very popular with locals. Recommended.

Amazing place to go for a casual drink or a family reunion. Friendly staff who make every experience at the Devonshire memorable, along with the garden which to say the least is the best pub garden in Kensington. 11/10 would recommend to anyone!

Muy buen pub con buenas cervezas, pero el fin de semana el éxito del virus 19 hizo que el personal realmente quisiera estar allí. Esa misma tarde envié un e. correo diciendo que si para nuestra reserva de 7 pm se habían quedado sin opciones, entonces nos iríamos a otro lado. A la llegada nos dijeron que todos los platos principales todavía estaban disponibles, ¡genial!Por lo tanto, me decepcionó mucho cuando salió mi cena de cerdo asado, ¡me dijeron que no había salsa de manzana! Una cosa menor, pero esto con el hecho de que las verduras no eran geniales y las patatas asadas congeladas asadas? ? ? ? ? Promedio, una pena S el pub es genial

Visiting British -Canadian found this spot to enjoy memories of a youth spent in the area! With my wife, we both enjoyed a great evening of food and ale. The food was good, the team were cheerful, young and knew there jobs well. Cold and wet outside but still looked warm and inviting. Yes we did enjoy this, our last dinner before our flight home to Vancouver Island.

A group of 20 of us ate here for an evening meal whilst staying at the nearby Holiday Inn. Food was excellent with some excellent beers on draft particularly Camden Hells. Really nice beer garden and a great spot to watch the world go by.

This Pub has a very nice garden and best of all they do serve realy good food. We were 6 persons who had different courses and we were happy with what we got.The Pub is often very crowded so we booked in advance and could choose table. Friendly staff

Firstly, let me be clear, this is a favourite of our. However, last night we had dinner here (2nd in 2 days) and the first and second courses arrived together - not an issue but the 3rd out of the last 4 times that this has happened! However, the person in charge then proceeded to accuse my wife of having requested this (why would we want two courses together!), went away and then came back and accused us again! Amazingly poor service.

Called in for a drink on the way out to dinner. Great service from friendly staff. Nice decor which gives the place a cosy atmosphere-would definitely recommend although we didn't eat here we did see food going past that looked really good for a pub & next time we'll definitely try the food it looked so delicious!

We ate there with friends during our brief stay in London last month. The food was great, but the pub was very crowded and noisy. We could barely carry on a conversation. I was also a bit disappointed in the selection of ales. Only one English product was offered. I don't come to London to drink foreign brews.

Hamburguesa Muy Sabrosa. Leche De Coco, Queso Alternativo. Me encantó la salsa de tomate. Coma bastante a menudo en la República Checa. Amamos al pepinillo, s. Encima de la hamburguesa. ¡El pepinillo verde más dulce jamás probado! . Tenía la mitad de cerveza de barril de mango. Sabor requerido. Aunque disfrutado. Listo para el baile de graduación ahora! .

My son and I had dinner here. The staff is friendly and there is a nice atmosphere. My son ordered the chicken wings and commented they were as good, or better, than the wings we have at home in the states!

Good welcome received. 4 real ales available. Outside area available and inside area very nicely set out with space between tables. Decent menu with steak and fish, the burger at £14.50 was good quality and an ale at under £5 was considered reasonable value. An enjoyable visit and well worth a return visit.

The Beyond Meat burger was fantastic, really tasty, but the nut roast was so sweet it should have been a dessert. No idea why restaurants do this.

Visited 21 July 2019, nice setting with good typical pub grub. Nice interior and outside area although nearly everyone sitting outside were smoking and with every table under cover made it very smokey be it outside which spoiled it. Pubs like this need to have designated smoking area or no smoking altogether.

What we expected was not provided the venue was chosen after a visit and this went well and the Bondi cabana was chosen for the family party of various ages including an infant and 2 toddlers

We found this place near our hotel and am so glad we did. We happened to be there on trivia night (in the back room) and had a blast - felt like one of the locals and even won a free drink! There is outdoor seating, which we didn't use because it was a bit cool when we were there. Hubby had something English to eat (I forget what it was, sheppard's pie? fish and chips?) and I had a good chicken Caesar salad. Lovely pub in a residential area of Kensington.

Encontré este pub por casualidad entre nuestro hotel y la estación. Muy buen lugar con jardín, comida increíble y un personal muy amable. Nos recomendaron y nos dejaron probar unas cervezas. Ambiente animado pero relajado. Sirven comida al día y el lugar parecía ser uno de los favoritos entre los trabajadores locales.

Great neighborhood Pub. The cask ales were outstanding and the Asparagus Risotto perfect. Cute outside tables for warm evenings.

This pub was recommended by the hotel for Sunday roast and they did not disappoint. And by the way the sticky toffee pudding was also exellent.

Very nice pub inside and out. But food service and quality disappointing. Was really looking forward to the ‘triple cooked chips’ but when they were served, an extremely small portion of basically oven cooked chips and at over £4 was very expensive for the very small portion (15-20 chips)!

Nice friendly quaint pub, seating inside and out. We Popped in about 8pm for something light to eat. Decided on just two starters and one dessert. Mushrooms and chicken wings, plenty on the plates and very tasty, washed down with a brownie & Ice Cream. Went in for something light and ended up stuffed. First class, good selection of beers

Very nice, quaint pub in Kensington. Close to my hotel. Food was good, beer was good. As we were about to leave, a little before 6pm, a panhandler was permitted to walk about the pub and attempt to sell his magazine to various patrons. We were sitting approximately 10 feet from the bar, with no fewer than 3 employees of the pub at the bar and it was not yet busy.

We tried to order a meal 2 days ago at 17 00 and found a vacant table after fighting past what appeared to be a crowd of Yuppies stood at the bar. We studied the menu and I went to the bar to order but the Yuppie types had no intention of letting me anywhere near the bar so we decided to leave, my wife and I asked the throng to let us through to the exit and ended up having to push our way through as nobody would move for us.

What a great spot in a somewhat residential neighborhood. The menu was chock full of English favorites mixed with elegant or unique additions. The outside garden space was perfect for an after meal drink. During our stay in London we considered the Devonshire to be our “local spot” — loved our experience.

I really liked this place. It has a nice feel to it, and the food was quite good. Portions are generous, and service was generally quick. There is a back room, too, if you want to try and get away from the main bar a little bit, bit it also has a telly in it, and so the sports people tend to congregate there. I might wish for a little bit wider selection of ciders, but that's perhaps more a personal preference. Definitely would look forward to visiting again, next time I am in Kensington.

We came here for dinner. Had to order from the counter and the service at the counter could be better. We were pleasantly surprised by the table service when we were served with our cutlery and food. It waited for at least 30 mins for our food so best to order your desserts with your mains if you want a fast and chop dinner. We had fish & chips was good but gets a bit too much after awhile. The portion is huge. Their roasted chicken is nice and juicy. Have to try their caramelised bananas and warm brownies.

The Devonshire Arms Pub in the Kensington districting London is a classic British experience. Food is fresh and standard cuisine for a neighborhood meeting place. Staff is great, friendly and helpful. Many brews on tap from local microbrews to international champions such as Guinness. Definitely worth a stop is your in the area.

We enjoyed a very good lunch here. The menu is varied, the food was excellent and we enjoyed great service. There were nine of us and all our food arrived at the same time. The fish and chips was delicious - excellent chips!

I was staying at a hotel not far away and noticed this place one night coming back via Uber. It just looked so inviting, so I went with London friends the next night. Though located in a quite posh area, it really does have a welcoming neighborhood feel to it. Be advised that you do need to place your orders and pay for them at the bar, but the food is brought directly to your table. We weren't able to get a table outside, but that's probably just as well, as it seemed populated mostly with smokers. But inside was cozy and comfortable, and not too noisy. Food service was rather slow that night, due to some crisis in the kitchen, but our server was so pleasant and forthcoming about it, we didn't mind. Fish and chips were stellar. I will definitely head back (and more than once) when I'm there again next year!

My wife and I had an excellent meal at Devonshire Arms after a very tiring day exploring London. The food is well cooked and portions are good value for money. Overall, I would certainly dine here again

Great food and plenty of beverage selections. Went for a Monday night hamburger special and was absolutely delighted. The staff was very nice, even though it was quite busy. The food arrived at the table hot and delicious. One of my favorite "go to" places in the Kensington area.

Visited here on a sunny afternoon and spent several lovely hours drinking and eating. I had the Caesar salad to eat which was quite tasty. That accompanied with a cold bottle of cider with the sun pouring down, it was perfection. As the afternoon went on, it got increasingly busy, so this is clearly a popular venue. One to definitely try on a nice day.

Når man er i London er det (stadig) nemt at finde en pub, men svært at finde en pub, der er forholdsvis uberørt af turister, hvor man kan få sig lidt at drikke (eller spise) i fred og ro. På trods af, at The Devonshire Arms ligger meget tæt på indtil flere store hoteller, er den sådan en pub. Den ligger i et beboelseskvarter og er en typisk `local’ med masser af charme. Her kommer folk for at få en pause eller mødes med venner. Her kan man sidde og småsnakke både inden- og udendørs ( hvis vejret tillader det). Bestemt en favorit, som jeg gerne besøger, når jeg er i London.

I went there for lunch mid week. We ordered the sea bass and fish and chips. The sea bass arrived burnt. Even the tomatoes served with it were excessively black. Fish and chips were below average. The pub is in a nice location with a very pleasant outdoor area but i will not be going back.

Detenido en tres o cuatro veces durante mi corta estancia en Kensington esta primavera y disfrutamos de cada visita. Deliciosa hamburguesas estaban en happy hour especiales, gran variedad de cervezas locales y macro, y la decoración hacen que los brazos de Devonshire una visita obligada cuando en la zona. También hay un hermoso patio, pero desgraciadamente estaba lloviendo en mis visitas, así que no pude disfrutar correctamente.

We keep going back again & again. Always lively, always fun. The food is good & my dog is always welcome.

Nice outside space and lots of seating inside here. Good drinks selection and average prices for London. Good place to watch football too. Possible to reserve areas as well. The food looked good, although not the cheapest.

The journey starts with a phone call for a reservation, the gentleman who took the booking was really helpful & explained arrive early as it will be busy, how true was he it was heaving, outside in the sun, inside in the bar and restaurant, great advise.

This used to be a fantastic pub with a fantastic menu. However, 2 or 3 years ago it had a refurbishment and lost quite a lot if it's character. The food standard has remained but the loud rock music piped in does not do the pub any favours

Et virkeligt klassisk engelsk spise/drikkested (også kaldet en Pub :-) Selvom menuen ikke var overbevisende var det der var på den virkelig lækkert. Jeg valgte Fish 'n Chips (igen klassisk) og blev virkelig positivt overrasket. England er måske ikke specielt kendt for sin madkultur, men Fish 'n Chips kan de altså godt finde ud af at lave! Og så med en pint af den lokale Lager så er måltiden fuldendt.

Had the sharing continental board this lunchtime. So much food and very tasty, cheeses and hams very delicious along with olives and pickles. A lovely afternoon spent outside on the terrace, will definitely be back soon.

Gran lugar. Gran ambiente y un gran personal. Mejor pescado y patatas fritas en Kensington, sin duda. Patatas fritas con graves son simples pero para la divina y como salchichas y puré de "oh mi palabra "sabroso y enorme. Si eres amante del PEA una orden de guisantes blandos con sus salchichas. Una verdadera delicia. Británico Pequeño pub así que puede ser mejor reservar en el almuerzo o la cena. Fuimos dos más tiempo.

Der Pub lag direkt um die Ecke von unserem Hotel The London Lodge in Kensington und wir haben dort jeden Abend während unseres London-Trips noch einen Absacker getrunken. Der Pub war für uns so richtig englisch, schön gemütlich eingerichtet, bisschen Kitsch, bisschen Style, gute Musik, lauschiger Freisitz. Die Auswahl ist sehr gut und auch wenn wir nicht gegessen haben, las sich das Angebot prima und was an Essen zu sehen war, sah sehr lecker aus! Personal am Tresen und im Service war freundlich und es war immer ein schöner Tagesabschluss dort. Können wir nur empfehlen!

Classic english tavern with OK pub food. Atmosphere is cool and staff just OK. We ordered the grilled cheese with garlic (just OK) and fish and chips- Enjoyed the experience!

We usually just have the drinks here. The food was never a big attraction compared to other pubs and restaurants in the area. In nice weather , sitting outside is a fun evening!

I saved the best for last! Having been in the Kensington area for 6 nights, I still hadn’t had Fish & Chips. This was my last night and The Devonshire Arms was a great choice and immediately inviting. Great ambiance. Nice patio, Real neighbourhood feel. The chips were done to perfection, (chips can always be the show stopper, but not here). If you’re staying near Kensington underground, or even Cromwell Road and Gloucester station, this is a quiet walk through a lovely neighbourhood. Two thumbs up.

Excellent Sunday roast. Go early because this is a popular place and they tend to run out of choices later in the day.

Nice little pub. Had a weird smell when we walked in. Nice meal of sausages and mash. Beer not too expensive. Just a short walk from where we were staying. (Grand Plaza) Nice and walk with the radiators. Nice outdoor bar with heaters too.
