Stopped at the Dee View as part of a multi-day bike trip I was on. Staff were friendly and chatty and gave me lots of advice for staying in the area while I recharged my electrics and downed a couple of pints. Would have stayed longer to eat there too but had to get on my way.

Lovely friendly Staff and selection of beers etc . Very quiet on a Monday afternoon so difficult to give more than 4 stars. Would definitely visit again when local.

The bar tender who was working yesterday (15th August) was amazing. A personal friendly service was delivered, with efficient bar tending skills! Lovely place with a proper pub feel!

Charlie and Team serve the best pint on the Wirral. For me their signature pint is London Pride, it’s the best pint outside of London and beats many within it. There is a solid selection of real ales, lager, and cider - with regular guest ales. The CAMRA recognition is well deserved. The bar snacks are superior to those in other Heswall establishments, and the premises are spotless, especially the toilets. Access to Wi-Fi is good and the TV's can be seen from every angle - handy for the football! However, what makes the Dee View Inn a place I am proud to call my local is the ethos of Charlie and her Team. This is a Community Pub in every sense of the word. Charlie is happy to support local schools and organisations (like the Scouts) and makes every effort on every occasion. She especially supports and makes feel welcome local veterans, she takes it seriously and helps look after the War Memorial on the bend. This is a pub you need to visit and enjoy the hospitality!

They've been doing a bit of work here since I last called here. They've now got a large beer garden in what was the old car park. It must almost be the same area as the pub itself. It's also raised up so you really do get a Dee View from there. Good place to spend a sunny afternoon. Great selection of beers, very friendly staff.

First time having a drink in the Dee View. Sadly very disappointed. The service was poor as my wife and I were made to feel like an inconvenience as we took the bar staff away from chatting to the regulars. White wine served in a tall glass and a poorly poured pint. Bar staff was defensive and standoffish when I offered to order a different drink as the keg had just been tapped - but after some audible moaning we got our drinks. This is not before the member staff started taking the next customer's order (another local based off of conversation) pouring their pints before we had a chance to pay meaning we had to wait. We didn't raise it due to a mix of intimidation and feeling it would land on mute ears. We sat outside and enjoyed the view which we could have done for free. At least here we didn't feel like we were bothering anyone. Drank up and got off sharpish. My dad drank here for over 30 years enjoying the Dee Views hospitality. Ironically I've lived here my whole life and was made to feel like an outsider - not that this should matter. It was our first and sadly our last time at the Dee View.

Lovely classic pub. Good options for real ales, no noisy TV- you can speak! Carpets and soft furnishings so it's doesn't sound like you are in a waiting room! Friendly staff.

Friendly pub. Small and was quite busy but we were welcomed. Drinks were reasonable and good choice.

Was looking forward to my 1st visit an watching the Reds v Bournemouth Service was OK, not a warm welcome, not a great selection of ales - the usual suspects but did have neck oil, my only option. Expensive drinks too (£12.30 for a pint and a med red). Lots of screens but because it's a very small pub it was difficult to find a good viewing spot. We left at half time.

Had a great time, droped in for a pint, stopped longer than orginally anticipated with Charlie, great conversation, perfect hostess, didn't rate the food cause eating is cheating, will be back soon 😀

Absolutely lovely host and owner, went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed for our first time serving food at this pub. Gorgeous views of the beach and sea. Nice decor and old comforting homely interior, clean toilets and nice selection of drinks. Will be returning very soon. Highly recommend. Thank you for having us :)

This is one of the nicest old English pubs in Heswall. It has been remodelled but has lost nothing of its old charm. Service and variety of drinks is great. Would always visit again.

been to the Dee View twice this bank holiday weekend… on the Saturday it was an initial flying visit during a walk at 1pm but didn’t leave until 8pm due to the sunshine, lovely views, lovely staff and great light bites. Today just been for a Sunday dinner which was absolutely fab at such a good price, you can tell everything was homemade and made in house, fresh ingredients cooked to perfection. Will definitely be coming back again very soon for food and drinks! 🍹 well done to the staff for making the experience a nice one xx

5 stars are an understatement. Absolutely beautiful venue. It has been taken over by Charlie who is amazing, she can’t do enough to help. Her staff are the exact same. Nothing is an issue. We all had a Sunday roast which was the best roast we’ve ever had. The chef did an amazing job. We will be returning as this has been a lovely experience.

Good refurbishment could do with a least one more hand pulled beer but wish the new owners well.

This is honestly one of the nicest pubs we've ever been in. We had a lovely chat with both the front and back of house staff who couldn't do more for us. Decent prices, good selection of drinks on sale and the food is absolutely exquisite; everything is homemade and you can tell by the taste and quality. Will certainly be coming back for more. ;)

Decided to visit as it has just reopened and we have heard from friends it is really good. We were served by Charlie the manager and she made us feel really welcome and was so friendly. We had the chicken tendors, burger sliders and lamb tangine and it was all amazing and you can tell its freshly prepared. Just a shame there isnt an outdoor area as it was a nice day when we visited and it would have been nice to sit outside. We will definently be back though and we want too come on a Sunday for a roast dinner.

Had a lovely lunch with my husband, mum and dad. They had Sunday lunch. Clean plates all round, which is unusual for mum who is a really fussy eater. I had Tiger prawns and chunky chips. Can say chips were so fluffy. Creme brulee's had for dessert. Highly recommended 👌

If the homemade sausage rolls are anything to go By. Food gorgeous. Just need to sort beer pipes on/off problem. Landlady lovely . Pub back almost to when Darren qnd Andrea had it has been nicely refurbished.

Nice inside, v friendly staff. Recommendations to make me go back: 1. Bigger choice of wines (theres only 3 of the same named wine). 2. Only put Tvs on when there's an occasional sporting event, not just on for the sake if it, with the volume turned down.

Back to its best after returning to a traditional pub. Will be visiting frequently.

Never have any luck here. Tried it on recent trip and they had no beer!!! Just lager and gin and cider. Was cash only! Only stayed for the one. Off my list now

Went for dinner Friday evening, lovely cosy pub however 2 menus to choose from burger menu and taco menu. Burgers are about £13 with fries and are nice. Tacos range from £12-£14 they say you get 3 tacos with choice of filling. The size of the tacos are no larger than a jam jar lid!!! Poor, they are like canapés, then you have to order fries for £4 on top, you will be very disappointed if you order the tacos. Stick with the burger 🍔!!!!

Nice friendly pub with parking and lots of outside seating, not sure of food quality as we haven't yet eaten there but the menu looks terrific and the eating area is kept clean and tidy.

Another pub under new management. Gone are the dated red wall paper & brassware around the walls to be replaced with a clean crisp bright & airy new colour scheme. This venue is situated with stunning views across the Dee estuary to North Wales & there is a beeer garden with a cozy wooden smoking shelter fir those of us nicotine addicts who wish to sit outside with our drinks & enjoy the view without intruding on none smokers. I recommend this pub.

Rude staff spoiled our evening, won't return. We stopped by here on our wedding anniversary with our 10 year old son, after having a lovely meal elsewhere, and sat in the beer garden for one last drink before calling a taxi. At about 9:40pm my wife asked the barman for taxi numbers when he was clearing the neighbouring table, I called a taxi and they said the wait would be 30 minutes. I then ordered one final drink which the same barman served me, and then about 30 seconds later he came back out and told us we had to leave immediately as the pubs license didn't permit children on the premises after 8pm. Even though I felt quite annoyed that he'd just served me for drinks, we left anyway without making any fuss and stood on the pavement outside to wait for our taxi. He then came outside again and said we couldn't wait near the pub our lean against the wall! All in all, terrible customer service and spoiled a pleasant night.

Lovely little hidden gem. Staff are so polite and attentive . Decor is really amazing . Views to die for 👏 and the food !! Oh my we had the tapas. I can honestly say I've really enjoyed my first visit here today and will absolutely be returning. ❤️

Ordering on the app was easy but I did notice not all the drinks they sell was on the app as some people had bottles of cider and I couldn't find them on the app

What a wonderful jewel of a pub! This character establishment, Situated with beautiful views over the Dee estuary is a hidden treasure. Recently refurbished, both indoor and outdoor areas have been designed to make you feel relaxed and honestly like you’re on your holidays! I attended an outdoor birthday at the weekend where all the guests received the sharing platters, at their tables of six, they were absolutely divine! Yesterday with friends we took advantage of the brand new indoor menu and none of us were disappointed! The risotto , the lamb, the crispy chilli beef, the crab linguine, the nachos, the scallops, the goujons, the squid rings, erm yes, we sampled pretty much everything!!! Clean plates all round, and we have already booked our next visit for the bank holiday. Their beer and wine selection is superb, their consideration of COVID laws is outstanding.Kay really does make you feel like your family. She is attentive and the customers needs are her priority for a truly wonderful experience. Thoroughly recommend for couples, family’s and parties.

It was my first time out since lockdown and safe to say it was a very enjoyable experience, all the staff make you feel at home and the landlady makes sure to come and introduce herself which is a very nice addition, not many places like it. I’ve known this pub for years and the changes that have been made are immense i’m so impressed with what the landlady has been able to achieve in the past year. Worth the visit i’ll 100% be back

Quick service and quality food served by friendly staff. I’ve been going out to lots of different places since the return of pubs and restaurants after the latest lockdown, this has by far been one of the most thoroughly enjoyable. Will definitely pay another visit soon!

Couldn’t think of a better place to go. Kay and Lee always make an effort to speak to all the customers and make sure everyone feels comfortable and has everything they need. Couldn’t imagine two people to put as much effort in to everything they do than them. They have great entertainment on and there’s always a good vibe. The food is lovely and well priced. We’ve ate there a few times and never had any complaints. The bar staff are the best! They are always happy, smiling and friendly. They’ll do anything for you! The newly done beer garden is sublime! Great sun trap and views. The sun set from there is lovely! Would highly recommend to anyone! Can’t wait to go back!

Just visited Dee View for first time. Wow what can I say!!! Booked in for Sunday roast. Duo of meat ( beef and chicken ) beef cooked perfectly chicken the same with plenty of veg. Wife ad chicken and lamb. Again cooked perfectly. Staff all so friendly and made sure we was happy all way through our meal. Think it was landlady she seemed very friendly as well. Only gripe was it was a little bit warm in there. We was at table 1 and in the window with shining in on us. Can’t leave a review with out a little moan lol. Will definitely be returning in the near future

We visited the Dee View Inn last night with friends. The bar staff were very attentive and we received great service with a smile. The food was excellent. Kay the Manager came and had a chat with us which shows she cares. The entertainment was fantastic - Ethan Allen made a good night even better. Can highly recommend the Dee View Inn. It has a wonderful garden area too.

since I've moved to heswall just over a year ago I have struggled to find a place where I have enjoyed a sunday roast. But today we came and experienced some fabulous food. We had the calamari & chorizo braised in vodka to start with and it was sublime.Then we had Roast beef, cooked to perfection at med rare, the waitress came over with a slice of meat to show us that the meat was pink. Which we thank her for her excellence customer service skills. Our friends had the ribeye steak, and they thoroughly enjoyed it.We also saw the chef as he was walking through and we told him we had a good meal, and he told us about various things happening with the food throughout the week.All in all, if you haven't been yet, your missing out, great food, great service, great pub.

What a superb pub / restaurant We heard about the growing reputation of this place so we decided to pay a Sunday lunch visit.First impressions couldn’t be more welcoming. We’ve been to the Dee View twice in the last month. The first time we sat outside. It was a Wednesday evening after work and we nipped in after our walk for a quick bite - fish and chips and sea bass both excellent. Last Saturday we sat inside with friends - three of us had fish - one sea bass and 2 the cod special - and one had steak. Once again great food, a lovely atmosphere and to finish a really good espresso martini

We visited the Dee View yesterday for a Sunday lunch with our daughter. The staff were very attentive, friendly and caring. The lunch was delicious, all hot and served on lovely plates. The puddings were a real treat too. Can highly recommend a visit.

Wow,Wow,wow I was greeted by Kay the new owner and seated promptly.We ordered the beef roast, I have to say one of the best dinners I’ve had in a long time, we normally feel a little disappointed at most Sunday lunches, but this was tasty & Plentiful and if like us you eat with your eyes we could not wait to dig in, it’s was so good. We can’t wait to return ❤️

I visited the dee view for Sunday dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, the best roast I’ve had in heswall!! The atmosphere was homely with very friendly and attentive staff. We followed our dinner with dessert and cocktails....I’d recommend the french martinis!! There were hand sanitizer stations available and our details were taken for track and trace, we felt very safe.I can’t wait to come back for girls nights out and for family evenings! Amazing!

Visited the recently refurbished pub yesterday and very impressed. Decor is modern and inviting. Staff are warm and friendly. The roast beef dinner was one of the best we have ever had out. Highly recommended and will definitely be visiting again.

New owners have done a stunning job of the interior decor and the new beer garden. Lovely, welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. Went on curry night and the food was fantastic. So glad to see our beautiful pub getting the love she deserves!!! Sounds like there will be some great entertainment too!

This lovely pub has re-open with new Management....It has has a complete refurb and looks amazing inside...Great management with great bar staff, very friendly, nothing to much trouble...Good choice of ales and wines...Also do fabulous cocktails....No food at moment BUT will have commencing August...Give it a visit...
