The Deck House in Maldon

This is the 3rd time myself and my party have returned to Osea leisure park and we were planning on returning again next year until this experience at the deck house which has now made us pause to discuss other options. On checkin we were excited to be told of the investments that had been made to the deck house restaurant / bar - sadly that’s where the excitement ended. We were greeted in a very friendly manner as we bought bingo tickets for the adults and the kids played on the arcades at the other end of the room. In total due to the size of our group we must have spent nearly £500 on games, bingo and the bar/food. It then went downhill. Our kids were spoken to rudely by management because they were using the machines whilst bingo was on ( a simple rule of no kids in the building during bingo would have negated this), one of our party was asked to leave the bar as she had a baby ( in a very unprofessional manner) and then one of our party were ignored when they won at bingo because the caller ‘didn’t hear them’ - by the time of the latter all the kids had gone because of the way they had been spoken to - some regulars and staff actually shouted at them to ‘shut up’! All they were doing was playing on the games provided - no shouting or bad behaviour. The bingo caller and some of the other bingo participants who I assume were regulars were beyond unfriendly and so unprofessional that we all left mid through the game and came away shocked at how a purported family friendly establishment had got it so wrong. I have never been made to feel so unwelcome - it was appalling. The osea leisure park accommodation is great and our experiences until this point have been excellent. If we do come back we will not be going anywhere near the deckhouse and if management want a truly family friendly holiday village they need to address their staff and rules immediately. Very disappointing!

Visited for the recent Euro match and it was very busy but the staff were extremely professional and polite and helpful. All drinks ordered at the table came fast and there was always someone around to order food and drink from. They also did a good job of helping to keep a few people from constantly wanting to block the view of the screen. Nice work team!

The setting of this relaxed, chilled out venue is perfect . Food is good, especially crab sandwiches and of course the cream teas!! They even serve wilkiins gin (e.g. Strawberry and other flavours) cocktails with prosecco - marvellous!

Tuvimos una cena maravillosa cena con asado y bebidas con la familia. Buena relación calidad-precio. Parece encantador recién reformadas talamete hamacas y agradable nueva cafetería/bar en la parte superior mirando por encima de la pared de mar.

Me decepcionó mucho con mi comida y bebidas Whist experiencia de visitar este restaurante / club durante una reciente estancia en el parque. dos copas de vino y dos refrescos llegaron a casi 20 libras. Te cobran £2 por los rodajes de frutas para niños que es exorbitante. Puedes comprar 6 fruta rodajes por £1 en un supermercado, con lo que llevamos nuestro propio con nosotros al día siguiente fuimos al club!! La selección de comida era básicamente algo "fritos con patatas fritas" y si tenías suerte, usted puede ser capaz de colocar una orden si apareció en el momento oportuno" - dos veces nos dijeron que no estaban sirviendo comida (no se anuncia) y en la tercera ocasión (cuando nos dijeron que volver antes de las 9 pm), nos dijeron que habían detenido pedidos de comida temprano esta noche!! ¡Qué vergüenza - este lugar tiene mucho potencial, especialmente con las fantásticas vistas de la zona de tumbonas en el dique. ¿Por qué no este lugar tienen un sitio web detallando las veces de menú y apertura? Me gustaría decir que la animación era realmente bueno en la noche - no hay quejas :) Una última queja - El primer paso en los escalones de la sede del club en la zona de tumbonas en el dique tiene un trozo de madera / PVC falta, exponer una superficie resbalosa de metal que me resbalé cuando entramos en ella. Yo no resultó lesionado pero es un accidente a que ocurra me temo.
