Went to the Curfew on Wednesday evening with friends and had a delightful evening and amazing food. The pub is working in partnership with a Greek Chef from the Roasted Lemon and what a partnership it is! The food was delicious and my Lamb Kleftico was to die for. Friendly service and an overall great experience.

Such a lovely pub. Small, but with high ceilings and lovely windows. Since Mick took over last year, it's had a re-birth and is now buzzing 7 days a week. Food offering now very good - ribs, fish and chips, pie - all thoroughly recommended (easily best pie in Bath) and good range of beers and ciders. Prices reasonable. Service friendly and very efficient. It's my local and the only complaint I have is that I'm no longer guaranteed a seat if I wander in ad hoc!!! Well done Mick - this place could have easily have closed which would have been tragic.

Small and unassuming from the outside but I’m congratulating myself for going in and asking for a table. It was exceptionally busy but we were found a table and the staff were great. We got a menu and ordered food. Came quickly and was lovely. Attentive and friendly staff as well as dog friendly. We were staying just down the road on Cleveland bridge, and would definitely go back when we’re next in Bath.

This pub has been bought by Mick, the legendary landlord who used to run the Ring of Bells and the Ram. As expected he’s turned this pub into a gem (especially if you are a fan of Guinness) , which you tend to seek out at any given opportunity. On Friday we came for dinner: I started with the Calamari which his new chef has perfected with a stunning spicy sauce. For mains I had the Crab and Prawn linguine which was unbelievably good and my wife had the pie of the day which was exceptional. We finished off with a stunning Crumble and ice cream. Full marks to the chef - we’ll be back soon - and I hear there’s now steak night in a Wednesday! If you fancy a pint or a meal, this place is an obvious choice - although I’d advise to book ahead - because as soon as word gets out this is going to be very busy!

We had a good, but somewhat uneven Sunday roast at the Curfew in Bath, but this plase is excellent for the beer The place is nice inside, with attractive decor. It is a Wadworth Brewery pub so has their outstanding cask ales. They had a good range available when we were there and the 6X Bitter was in excellent condition, perfectly kept. The Sunday Best roast was very good but uneven. The roast beef was very good. The chicken was actually outstanding and the best of the meats. The pork was reasonably good but not great and the skin was badly overcooked and too hard. The veg and Yorkshires were good but the roast potatoes were exceedingly overcooked, hard and dry, as if they had been heavily cooked hard and then reheated to be be even harder. They were practically inedible. Staff was friendly.

Although we do not live locally and everything was organised over the phone, we immediately put our trust in Jamie with his "can do" attitude. The private upstairs room is perfect for private get togethers and the buffet was exceptional. Jamie and his team, chef, Erin and Caitlin deserve much praise for pulling off a very smooth family party for us. My lactose and gluten free dietary needs were professionally dealt with without issues. We highly recommend using this delightful pub for a private party.

This was the nearest pub to where a group of us were staying at the weekend - well, that was a piece of luck! Lovely pub, full of character, clean and airy. A very warm welcome from the young woman behind the bar, who was friendly and attentive. A very good selection of ales (essential for our party) and reasonably priced lunchtime food, which was tasty and of good quality. How it wasn't busier, I have no idea (perhaps the bridge works nearby has, sadly, had an effect). Please pop in if you are nearby - you won't be disappointed - and we need to save our pubs, especially great ones like this.

Just moved to Bath and have been discovering some of the great pubs in this wonderful city; the Curfew being one of them. Initially went for a bit of food and a few pints mid-week with no great expectations - I've moved from London and am used to food arriving on my plate via a Brakes lorry - but I was pleasantly surprised by my meal on that first evening and the host, Jamie, was friendly and warm, so I returned for a Sunday roast. As a sometime veggie I went for chicken roast lunch which was delicious. Roast chicken breast, roast spuds, parsnips, stuffing and well cooked sides; including a great cauliflower cheese. All served pleasantly and professionally in a lovely dining room. I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday roast at the Curfew and I thoroughly recommend it too.

Long ladies’ weekend to Bath, we stumbled upon this pub because we are too lazy to venture far from our apartment. We are so glad we did! We arrived in be and were greeted by the friendly lady behind the bar. Menus were brandished, drinks ordered and we scanned the menu for what gourmet delights awaited us. First off there is an entire section of vegetarian burgers. For every meat burger there is an alternative. You can even build your own burger. So much to choose from, never mind the other smaller bites. Not as starving as the others, I opted for the pan fried halloumi cheese with salad, chips and sweet chilli sauce. It was delicious. Two meaty burgers (St George and the Dragon and Smokey and the Bandit) across from me were inhaled and given the thumbs up. Washed down with a local brew, can't remember the name of it, we were a very happy table. We didn't get a chance to revisit for the rest of the weekend, but it's top of the list to eat in when we do go back. I need to try the rest of the vegetarian options.

Most pubs allow you to e vape but it is polite to ask.Not the Curfew on a very quiet Monday night, where the landlady brusquely asked us not to. It soon became a discussion and due to the landlady's lack of "soft" management skills we agreed not to but soon left. Our table had the glasses cleared away and wiped down within 10 seconds of leaving which left us with a negative impression of their level of customer service. The pub has been refurbished with a great décor, very good beer and an interesting menu. It deserves to succeed where others have failed in a difficult location with close competition to where we adjourned to receive a warm welcome from Kernow and the landlord who was busy as always.

Slightly out of the tourist bustle (thankfully) the impressive high windows showed off a welcoming contemporary interior. A very well kept pint of Wadworth IPA and a glass of chilled Sav Blanc ordered, we sat and relaxed. A nice mixed crowd of locals were in the place. It became evident that Dan and Emily (landlord and landlady) had opened the place 2 weeks previously following a major refurbishment. The amount of locals over the course of the evening that popped in and made positive comments about its transformation was remarkable. Being our first visit, we had nothing to compare to- we loved the decor, original high ceilings and picture rail (hidden by a previous false ceiling!!!! You've got to love the 1970s), the unobtrusive music and most of all the welcome. Dan, Emily and the team are focussed on getting it right, and restoring a good pub to the community. They have a beer garden and a cool function room upstairs, which is used as a separate relaxing space, or a concealed screen is available for sports events. Surround sound too! No fruit machines .The toilets were spotless. The menu looked good- there were 3 separate groups eating when we were there- and Emily told us that it is their intention to focus on doing a less extensive menu really well, with locally sourced ingredients. There were a couple of snagging issues (wifi still to sort etc) but when these easy things are sorted, The Curfew will have completed its move to a welcoming, decent venue with a relaxed feel, great surroundings, great drink and food at a fair price within the community. When we visit a pub that we aren't local to, our yardstick is 'would we drink here if we were local?' In the case of The Curfew, we very much would. Give it a try- definitely recommended.

We've recently moved to Bath and were keen to visit The Curfew as its close to where we live. Our first visit is likely to be our last visit. We were treated with indifference by the woman serving - no welcome or friendly hello. She seemed keen to get the transaction over quickly so she could continue chatting to a group of people drinking at the other end of the bar. We were considering ordering food but after the welcome we decided to move on and enjoyed a lovely meal and friendly staff at The Pultney Arms

A little gem of a pub just a short stagger from town. Sue the landlady is fantastic and will go out of her way to make sure your visit is pleasurable. Well worth a visit :)

What's happened to The Curfew? We went today for Sunday lunch and I have to say it was awful. We were a little bit late for our booking and due to unforeseen circumstances our party of 12 had reduced to 7. We got bad vibes about this from the bar staff straight away. We were sat in the lovely room upstairs only to realise that the speaker in the corner had fairly loud music coming from it and we couldn't hear each other talking. When asked if it could be turned down and a rather sulky waitress turned it down slightly, only to turn it back up again! We then ordered our food. We waited an hour. We even had to ask twice if it was ready. We had 3 children with us, and two elderly people and we were all getting really hungry. When it finally arrived, the beef was over cooked and tasteless, the yorkshires were burnt and my chips were undercooked. It was such a disappointing experience, we almost walked out at one point we were waiting so long. I'm not one to particularly moan about this sort of thing, but it was that bad an experience I felt I had to! Won't be going back.

So this is our default for Sunday lunch - purely because it's cooked to perfection! The beef is beautifully done (just pink in the middle), yorkshire puddings are HUGE, crispy roast potatoes, lots of veg (including cauliflower cheese)... and in such generous portions you won't need any food for the rest of the day! Also, their other lunches are delicious, and they have games you can play (scrabble etc), papers to read, a very good selection of ales and ciders, quiz nights... basically its one of the best pubs in Bath.Go here.

Called in to Bath to get a table from an Antique shop round the corner and spotted the Curfew. Called in and had a great pint of Wadsworth and a 6x and steak pie, partner had the mushroom stroganoff, each cost £8.95 and were tasty and filling. If I lived locally I would be back to try out the dining room upstairs.

I have eaten at The Curfew a few times recently in the evening and it has never disappointed, but it has just excelled for Sunday lunch. We were a table of eight and everyone had a fantastic meal and the vegetables were a brilliant choice of sweetcorn, celeriac mash (which must have had a secret ingredient because it was so tasty), french beans, cauliflower and broccoli. It was busy, so word must be spreading of just how good the place is and such good value.

A very pleasant place! Location close to the center but still quiet with a wonderful terrace. I recommend the rosé from English production.

Buena comida, tenía una hamburguesa fabulosa. Súper servicio, no podría ser mejor. Pub un poco cansado, pero muy acogedor de hecho. Admite perros.

This is such a lovely pub, good sized carpark. Dog friendly and even on a Sunday lunchtime they let us buy some bowls of chips.
