Lovely staff, very friendly and accomadating to a bunch of tipsy older ladies! I had fish & chips. Flaky, soft fish with crisp batter, crunchy chips, delicious! The building is old & interesting with a good vibe. Recommended.

Really over priced for mediocre food. Service can be improved. They didn’t write our order down and brought out something we didn’t order in the first place. The atmosphere is good at least with a nice outdoor area good for drinks.

The value for money is not there. The starters we chose are not cooked but an addition of ingredients and sauces purchased ready-made. The fried squid whites were also very fatty. The fish n chips were excessively greasy. We declined desserts. The service is neither good nor bad, the atmosphere difficult to define given that we were alone. £70 for 2 in any case is not justified.

Food was really nice but feel it is over priced, I had the roast chicken, tiny bit of chicken and only two potatoes, feel like they give you a massive yorkshire to compensate for meat and potatoes. Enjoyed my meal but would expect more meat and potatoes for that price.

Crystal palace pub is a little gem in the middle of Bath. A great outdoor area tucked away behind the building with great access to the loos and bar area. Servers were super nice and friendly and were happy to chat. Prices were good and atmosphere very jolly indeed. Definitely recommend it as great watering hole in-between fun activities in bath. Great access to the local attractions and walking distance to everything. A very harming and well kept pub.

We had a fantastic time at the Crystal Palace Pub in Bath. The pub has a charming Georgian-style character, giving it a warm and slightly historic feel. Its location is perfect – just a short walk from the Roman Baths and the Abbey, making it a convenient spot to relax after sightseeing. The staff were welcoming and friendly, creating a pleasant atmosphere. We loved that there were plenty of seating options, both indoors and outdoors, including a separate dining area and a smoking section. The outdoor space was particularly nice for a casual drink. The drinks were great, and the overall vibe made it a perfect place to unwind. Whether you’re looking for a drink, a meal, or simply a place to enjoy Bath’s charm, Crystal Palace is well worth a visit. Highly recommend!

On a pleasant square, near the Roman baths. It took us a while to realize that you are not served at the table. You are supposed to place your order at the bar you do, pay immediately and it will be brought to your table. The place was almost full. It was a pleasant hustle and bustle. Sufficient choice on the menu. The food was tasty. One chair at our table was directly next to the doorway, not very convenient. We have put this aside.

I'm surprised that there wasn't a highway man behind the bar as bar prices was daylight robbery. £18 for a pint of lager and small bottle of prosecco. Even the bar man thought it was dear, I've never been charged £11 for prosecco. It's a simple pub at the end of day! Then, the bar staff hound you to leave minutes after last orders, there are far better pubs in Bath, with fairer bar prices.

The Crystal Palace was recommended as a good pub and we were not disappointed. There was an extensive menu and we had Thai chicken curry and a salmon dish, both of which were very tasty. We ordered a bottle of wine but when we came to pay was told we only need to pay for 2 large glasses as it was a special Wednesday night offer! Amazing! There was a great atmosphere with people coming and gong but not too noisy. Would recommend.

We have been popping in here, most years, for the past 15 years and I have to say even I was surprised at the change. We normally sit out the back which is all under cover but opted to eat in the restaurant this time and we were pleasantly surprised. Rhe decor was really tasteful with a definite French theme and the menu , although not particularly extensive, had a good variety. The atmosphere was really nice, a mix of couples, families and a wife range in age demographic too. The food arrived hot and excellently presented and we really enjoyed it. The lamb faggots were divine. If I was to have a slight criticism, it would be that the service was a little slow, but it was a Tuesday night and they were full and in some ways its better than being mithered constantly and it did not spoil the evening at all as we were not in a rush.

We went here for dinner based on many locals recommendations. It was absolutely fantastic! The dining room was decorated in a cozy traditional style yet felt very new and updated. The food is more on the traditional side and so well done. We had the Sheppard's pie, fish and chips and onion rings. Everything was delicious and those onion rings were the best onion rings I've ever had. The fry on them was light as air and crispy and golden. This kitchen is on point and serving something special. Traditional English pub food done very well with quality ingredients. We were very happy dinner guests. The locals recommendations were a testament of how adored and consistent this restaurant has proven to be. The vibe was so fun and welcoming that we made friends with the diners at the next table and their adorable dog Herbie!! This restaurant is a must in Bath!

Lovely big busy pub. Food looked really good but it wasn't cheap. We had two pints of asahi which cost almost £15. We waited for 15 minutes before we went inside and asked if we were supposed to order inside. Then we were informed that no, our waitress would be coming to our table to take our order. But our waitress was having a jolly old conversation with some other patrons. It must have been an exhilarating conversation because they were exchanging phones and showing each other photos and having a grand time. So after waiting a total of 30 minutes with no service we decided to try our luck elsewhere. If you like sitting and waiting, this is the place for you. If you like to eat and drink you might want to consider another establishment.

Went here twice during our stay in Bath, once for "Wine Wednesday" and dinner, and once just for drinks. Wine Wednesday is a lovely deal where you get the entire bottle for the cost of two glasses. They have a very good Spanish red, very nice, so we enjoyed that immensely. Ordering dinner is interesting, as you order and pay at the bar, then you're given a number which you put on your table, and the server then later finds you. The ambiance is very nice, you can eat inside or outside on the patio which is well shaded by several massive tent-like umbrellas. We had the tea and hops smoked fishcake, the Caesar salad with chicken and the fish and chips. This happens but I feel I must report to the TA community, that there was a piece of narrow-ish flexible wire, about 2 inches in length, under the fish, on the bottom of the plate. We surmise that it was part of the packaging of the fish?? No actual clue, but there it was. We could easily have ingested it, broken a tooth, all sorts of problems......but luckily we caught it and went directly back to the bar to report it. The chef happened to be there and was very concerned, appropriately so, and came back to the table to look at it - we were offered to have the meal comped but we said no, no - we only wanted the chef to be aware as someone behind the scenes was not doing their due diligence whilst preparing the meal. As I said, this happens in kitchens - workers are moving fast to get orders out, and we also are aware that it's hard to get and keep staff these days. It's a word to the wise to any consumer, that this can happen - so be careful what you're chomping down on, before you chomp!

The Rising Sun is under new ownership and I’m pleased to see it seems on the way back to its former glory. The pub is undergoing some much needed renovations. We had a really good meal there and very enjoyable evening, the menu isn’t huge but what was on offer cooked well and very good quality. All washed down with an equally good bottle of Malbec.
