My wife and I recently had two lunches and one dinner at this restaurant, a clear indication that we enjoyed the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The barman was brilliant, absolutely on his game. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for whoever was in the kitchen when we visited. Drink and a sandwich deals are good value at under £15 (I had sausage and sweet red onion in ciabata with lovely chips) and there's an outside courtyard for warmer days and smokers. Someone needs to seriously sort out the plumbing/cleaning of the toilets here. We came in for a drink and a meal but the only table available was way too close to the ladies toilet which was absolutely stinking every time someone opened or closed the door. My partner visited the gents which he said had urine all over the floor. We couldn't bear to stay to eat, given this is the standard of cleanliness so drank our (very expensive) drinks and left. A horrible experience.

Good pub food and great service. The smoked salmon and King prawn linguine was tasty, although the sauce was a bit too thin and creamy for me, it was made well. The pie and chips were top class. Desserts did not disappoint although we needed a lot more sauce on the sticky toffee pudding and a lot more custard on the apple Crumble. The staff were friendly and happy to oblige with extra gravy jus as well. Highly recommended and a good solid Fullers pub that achieved the high standards I expect from Fullers.

Used to drink at the Crystal Palace many years ago, particularly in the summer when the beer garden was a summertime attraction. Today we met with friends for a late lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We all had the pie and mash for our mains. Whilst the portions could have been a bit bigger the quality was very good. Add to that a very nice pint of beer, tempting desserts and friendly staff, what more could you want?

I visited with my husband for lunch as we live in Bath. Nice environment and food, but I found a hair in my food which unfortunately is inexcusable, so I left part of my food. I mentioned this to the waitress at the end of the meal, and mentioned that it was ok but if she could please let the kitchen know so that they could avoid this happening in future. I was disappointed that even though the waitress apologised, there was absolutely no offering to make up for it? I had been gracious to not make a fuss, and would have expected more in terms of service. I wouldn’t mind discussing this further so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

I had spent the afternoon in Bath and had recently finished my visit to the Roman Baths. My main reason for visiting Bath was to do some night time photography. Therefore I did not want to eat too late. The Crystal Palace had caught my eye earlier in the day and, being partial to Fuller’s beer, I gave it a go. The pub is divided into a restaurant area and a bar area. I had not booked so I was pleasantly surprised to have a table in the restaurant area. My whitebait starter was beautifully cooked and slipped down well with a pint of caramel infused beer (the name of which I can’t remember but it did have “Fox” in it.) My steak and ale pie was meaty and the pastry was cooked to perfection. I find that it is not uncommon for pub food vegetables to be overcooked or watery. The cabbage and peas that came with my pie were probably the best that I have had with pub food. They were excellently cooked. The pub had a relaxed atmosphere and, for a damp and cold November evening, was pleasantly warm. I must give a special mention to Naz who was pleasant, friendly, engaging and very efficient with her service.

We ordered pies and both pastry were really tough to chew, kids pasta has big chunk of vegetables, it’s not very looking appetite. they didn’t have English mustard nor even tea spoon. Excellent evening in this pub with nicely decorated decoration (numerous frames on the walls, wooden tables, benches). We ate haddock fish and chips as well as the buttermilk chicken burger. If the breading of the chicken could have been crispier and the dish a little more garnished, the sauce for the fries was excellent and the breading of the fish was as crispy as possible! The service was impeccable with a young, dynamic and smiling team. It was a pleasant moment and we will come back!

Good british pub food. Pie of the day—chicken and leek—was tasty, but crust was a bit too hard for me. Nevertheless I eat it all. Fish and chips was great. Loved the homemade tartar with capers. If you find yourself in Bath, England on a Sunday, do yourself a favor and visit The Crystal Palace for the Sunday Roast! We told our concierge we wanted a traditional Sunday roast, and she said it was her personal favorite, so we booked it! The restaurant sits just across from the Bath Abbey and is the perfect location to sit, enjoy a pint and a roast. We both opted for the beef roast, although you could have the pork roast or chicken as well! The beef was served with a lovely Yorkshire pudding, cheesy cauliflower, carrots and parsnips- and of course I HAD to opt for the horseradish as well. Absolutely perfect stop after spending the morning touring bath! Highly Recommend!

A group of four of us, old friends from school all hitting half-centuries and living in different parts of the country decided to get together and have a Thursday evening in Bath. We made very few plans and after reasonably late arrivals walked in to the centre for a few drinks and something to eat. We entered the Crystal Palace at 2055 and were met with warmth by Lizzie who advised she could get us food if we ordered swiftly, since the kitchen was closing. We chose from the broad but not too broad choice of British dishes and our absolutely delicious food was served rapidly, (though not so rapidly it had just been pinged). We then enjoyed a few pints in the delightfully friendly, perhaps well-suited to our demographic ambience. It was quiet without feeling empty and classically decorated without feeling tired. Overall a really enjoyable experience, made all the more so by Lizzie and the rest of the team. I would recommend this place for couples, reunions and groups where talking is preferred to shouting. We didn’t visit the bar since we were sat in the lounge area, but did get the sense it might have been lively in a positive way. Many thanks to all involved.

Popped in for a beer. Nice staff and nice pub. Booked a table for later 😁. UPDATE: Met some friends for drinks on Friday evening 13th October 2023. At around 10pm the fire alarm went off, apparently a napkin caught fire. I give them 10/10 for all the fire doors doing what they should do. O/10 for the staff being clueless. No instructions to leave the pub and by what exit, no mention of a assembly point outside, so everyone was just outside the pub doors and leaning against the walls. When it was all clear, no member of staff was in control. People just started going back in. I'd expect someone to be lead fire warden giving out the all clear and come back into the pub. Staff were like clueless headless chickens and NEED immediate fire drill training. Get a grip instead of just taking customers money.

We visited with friends this evening for drinks. We had booked a table, but when we arrived we were told bookings were only valid for meals. This should be made clear when booking, not when we arrive. Luckily we found a free table. Half way through the evening the fire alarm went off. The fire doors closed immediately, which was excellent. The staff just shouted at people to get out, without saying which way to go. They did not appear to check the toilets were empty as we left. Once outside the staff didn’t communicate with us at all. Customers were standing by the windows of the building, which would have been a problem if there was a fire. Also everyone was standing all over the road, which would have blocked a fire engine. A man came running down the road and went in to switch the alarm off, as apparently none of the staff in attendance knew what to do. Then the staff just went back in, without communicating with customers. More training is definitely needed.

Just behind the Abbey! The pub seems a bit sleepy and complicated at first glance. You look for a suitable table, study the menu, remember everything including the table number and then order and pay at the counter. You also have to get your own table water from a pot. Everything is too expensive for the quality served. The service is practically non-existent even if the people present are charming and kind. We were served in 40 minutes for simple pesto pasta and gnocchi... the dishes were OK but not very elaborate, for the price it hurts. We were forgotten about dessert until we said we wanted more and boom, miraculously we went to the kitchen and they arrived. Unfortunately they were not good at all, bland crumble and soft pie crust, thanks to the microwave... We were offered a drink to compensate us but at 10/11 o'clock in the evening and after a long meal we had no longer hungry or thirsty so we refuse and therefore no other alternative is offered to us. They could have offered us the drinks already consumed but you have to believe that the house does not reimburse since you pay before eating... probably nice for a drink but not for eating.
