I have been visiting The Crusty Cob for seven months now for brunch/lunch, and have got to know the staff, who are all very friendly, and so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are always very accommodating to my needs, such as flipping my fried eggs. The food I've eaten has been delicious. The bread is lovely and thick for any meals requiring toast. The chips are made just the way I like them; crispy outside and soft inside. The jacket potatoes always filling. The shop is very clean and tidy, as the staff keep on top of cleanliness. There are plenty of tables, so you can have a quiet space at the rear of the shop; or join in conversations with staff and other customers at the front of the shop. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly. I haven't tried any bakery products, but they are always popular and quickly sell. If you looking for delicious light meals in a warm and friendly atmosphere, then look no further than The Crusty Cob.

Wonderful cafe, Very friendly staff, breakfasts are fantastic toast is nice and thick and very tasty, bread and buns make a great take away. We have visited here several times and it’s always great, it’s now our go to every time we visit the town. Always busy which is always a good sign. Very well priced given the food is so good. Manager is lovely always greats us with a smile and even remembers our order.

This was a neat bakery cafe with average pastries and coffee. It was a pleasant place, did what was needed relatively well, coffee and pasties okay but that was about it and probably as good as it gets in Tiverton.

Always pop in for my lunch time caffeine fix as I prefer their coffee compared to costa or greggs and the staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly all the time

Stopped by for a spur of the moment quick coffee when I spotted the inviting pavement seats. The sun was out, I needed a table to write a card, and therefore took the opportunity for a pause in my busy day. So glad I did, as the dry cappuccino I ordered was just perfect. Highly recommended.

I only had a pasty and tea but if the pasty was anything to go by then I would thoroughly recommend eating here. Friendly and efficient service.

I have been in this establishment a few times over the years and have always left satisfied. The food is unpretentious and all the better for it. Egg on toast, eaten today, very nice. I have always found the staff to be polite and attentive without being in the least bit pushy. This place is clean and was quite recently given a makeover. As with the food the decor is simple but tasteful. I have read a review that complains about the outside seating and specifically of fumes. As I have never eaten outside I will limit my observation to one thing, the complaint about the fumes from passing traffic. This part of Tiverton was effectively pedestrianised many years ago and it is therefore not as if you are dining by the M5 motorway. Not a criticism of that review but an observation. Provided you are after straightforward food I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Well, what can I say about this gem in the Devon town of Tiverton? As soon as you walk through the door you're greeted by a smile, and a cheery welcome, from the four charming girls in The Crusty Cob.Rachel, Sam, Chelsea and Kelly immediately make you feel like a valued customer. They serve you with a snack or a drink, for you to consume in the cafe or sitting at a table outside. And, all the time, smiling and polite. And, of course, a take away can be had if so desired.I can personally recommend the hot chocolate. The most delicious ever ! Unlike other establishments, The Crusty Cob's hot chocolate is mouth wateringly chocolatey, smooth and absolutely fabulous !I can't praise the staff highly enough. Four very charming girls, who do their utmost too make you feel at home, and provide top class sevice. There are other staff at The Crusty Cob, who provide service equal to these four lovely ladies. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, I don't know their names. So, too summarise my review, if you desire top class service, coupled with a smile and cheery greeting, patronise The Crusty Cob in Tiverton. You won't be dissapointed !Keep up the good work, Gals !Pete Denver. Stopped for a cuppa for my partner. Afterwards I decided to try a piece of cake clearly priced at £1.30. Slightly expensive for a 2” Square slice of cake but it looked good. Went to get the correct change and was told it was the wrong price and was 50p more because I was sitting outside with my partner. Usually I would accept this but having already sat outside for 5 minutes taking in the car fumes and fighting off the pigeons around my feet I felt this a little cheeky. I know there are issues around takeaway food etc but I was sitting at their roadside table (not clean) beside some other people who weren’t even eating from the cafe and feel that charging 50p for the privilege was a mickey take. The staff could also take some tips on how best to deal with issues like this too! In summary this establishment has ideas well above it’s station.

Whilst staying with family for a long weekend for my husbands 65th birthday we decided to go to Tiverton for a few bits before going home. Looking for somewhere for breakfast we noticed there were tables and chairs in the Crusty cob and had a full breakfast each. It was brilliant, and so freshly cooked. Tea and coffee was excellent. Clean chairs and tables and friendly staff. Highly recommended

Sometimes we have a wonderful experience and the food is served quickly and has been nicely prepared. I like the baked beans on toast with fried eggs. Other times we have to wait an age even when the place isn't busy and I have no idea why.

If you love fresh baked bread/rolls this little gem is for you! If your after a pasty with a difference it's for you! And if you want a naughty pastry treat yes you've come to the right place! Bread/rolls of many varieties from the not so humble white loaf through to multi seed and more. Hot traditional pasties or try the veg or chicken and leek. Fabulously naughty iced buns and Danish pastry

All we had was two black coffees. These were £2.25 each, and weren't worth drinking. We left them on the table, complained, and left. They were weak and tasteless.

Fried food at reasonable price. Good place to stop for a cup of tea. Seating a little awkward (tables in a narrow space). Reasonable service.

Tall teenage girl is very rude. No manners whatsoever. Food dry, reheated and borderline inedible. Bacon nearly took my tooth out. Soup around £1 more expensive than greggs across the road and it's microwaved. Won't be back

Went with a mate. Had breakfast each. Couldn't eat them. Beans had been re heated I reckon a few times. Bacon was dry. Toast was greasy Like it had been done on the pan. I asked for toast. Tea tasted like dish water. Never tasted dish water I did complain. Nothing got done. I won't be going there again

This place is somewhat reminiscent of a 70s cafe. It was established in 1969 and I don't think it's changed much since. The baked potatoes we had were fine and the service was prompt but I would not go here for anything more than grabbing a quick bite to eat.

I am thrilled that you are getting back up and running. I've had so many relaxed and friendly hours in the cafe with friends that I am looking forward to more accompanied by a fab nut roast and side salads fit for a queen. Airy and plenty of space (unlike other cafes that cram as many in as they can) so it feels very Covid safe even without have to make big changes.

Very nice food, large portions. We only had a main and were full. We both had the fish and chips. I had a Camden stout and the misses had a hawkstone. Nice old pub, real fire, car park opposite. Takes cash or card

Booked an afternoon tea for my mums belated birthday present. All staff were friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was absolutely amazing, such a variety of cakes and everything was fresh. It's definitely on my list for one of my favourite places for afternoon teas. Definitely get your value for money! Their breakfasts are good too. So lucky for this place to be on our doorstep!
