Popped in while staying in the area for a quick drink. Prefect little pub, very friendly staff and a really lovely local pint. Sat outside in the sun and watched the world go by with the friendly locals, just lovely. Everything you want from a pub, didn’t stay for food but bet it’s good.

It was absolutely delicious. This place has had its ups and downs with chefs . They have landed the Jackpot here . Weem had the Sunday roast . Pork belly slowly roasted in sage garlic rosemary cider e.t.c with all the trimmings and I mean all of them . It was Biblical. The brisket was melt in the mouth . The pub is a proper cornish pub. Locals and emmets mingling together in harmony. I have returned again this week . And the resteraunt was full with happy customers cooing and ooing .... 9.7 out of 10 give it a try and tell em tasty nath sent you..

We had a delightful dinner here in what is a true Cornish pub full of charm. Our meals were wonderful, cooked using fresh, local ingredients and served with a smile. We would absolutely recommend the Crows Nest Inn for lunch, dinner or just a peaceful pint outside and watch the world go by.

I travelled down to Cornwall with my partner and stayed in a local air bnb, I was suggested to go to the Crows nest inn as they’ve had really good reviews lately. Me and my partner had muscles to start, we shared, it was delicious, myself had a short rib for main and my parted had thia green curry, both meals was amazing. For deserts me and my partner shared chocolate baileys cheesecake, also very lovely. We was made very welcome by the front of house staff and recommend this amazing restaurant/pub

Lovely old trad. pub. Been using it for years. Sadly new owners don't seem to care. Sat. once again very busy but only one poor girl on, again, hadn't been told how to change a barrel! trying to serve drinks, take food orders, serve tables and clear tables. Poor girl was run off her feet. Very poor management. Won't be back till it's run by someone who cares.

We booked several days in advance for a meal at 7pm with my stepson and his wife. We see them rarely and were looking forward to a lovely meal. We arrived early and were met by a waitress explaining that they had a very limited menu. We sat down and after a long wait she arrived with a list of one steak and 4 starters. This was the only food available. She said they had rung us to cancel the booking at about 6.15pm and left a message. Our phone did not ring! I looked on the book and the number was written so badly that they must have had a wrong number. We ordered all the food and for the steak to be sliced - it arrived not sliced as the chef refused to do it. We later discovered that the chef ordered food for delivery that day but the owners who have recently taken over The Globe at Looe had cancelled the order and told the chef to manage with what he had. Our bill was over £60, we left just after 9pm when the lights were turned off. I will never trust such owners with my custom again. I feel sorry for the staff and the chef and this was clearly not their fault and they did do their best for us. If the owners were to contact us and comp us a meal at a restaurant of our choice it may go some way to make up for this experience. But not if it means eating at their establishments. Such behaviour should not be rewarded.

What a great find. A true locals' pub in a village that allows a motorhome to stay overnight in their car park. It was fun driving here down the narrow country lanes. We were immediately accepted by everyone in the pub, despite being 'outsiders'. Service was excellent, as was the food and ale.

Only live round the corner, and decided last minute to book a table for my wife and I - only gave 45 minutes notice and they managed to fit us in which was great as they were really busy. Great to see the baked camembert back on the menu - that's just too good to resist, which meant I was nearly full when the main came out and the mains were huge - very nice roast. Good company as always, cracking service and once again, the quality of entertainment was top notch. What's not to like ? .

Great staff but they were completely overwhelmed by the numbers to be served on the day of our visit, the pub was basically taken over by film crews working in the area on a TV. Series. Service was therefore slower than normal and a bit chaotic but the staff worked so hard to cope with things and were just so pleasant in the face of adversity. Main course was very nice but our 'cold' desert was a little warmer than maybe ideal. Overall it was a great visit and would highly recommend this pub, my friends and I will visit again soon when hopefully the place will not be suddenly overwhelmed by a huge amount of people all wanting their lunch at the same time.

Went on a busy bank holiday sunday- was sat in to eat our food next to band playing which music was sensationally loud. Asked to move got moved to dingy dark side room no atmosphere nor no one there to serve. Ordered two sunday lunches, for the price you’d expect everything to be spot on. We got served our food after an hour of waiting, Stone cold like it had been sat on the side for 15 mins before coming out. Hardly any of the things that was stated on menu was on plate. One carrot, a scrape of sweed it was like for decoration & 3 potatoes. Meat was good size but again for the price you'd expect to leave full. Any how, sent back as im not going to be eating stone cold food ? Even cauliflower cheese was cold which was sent separate. We wated another 20 minutes for it to come back out and it had just been microwaved. It was such bother, felt unwelcomed & felt like a hassle asking for things to be changed. Staff are over worked but their attitude shows because of this. I defo wont be returning/ recommending.

My Wife and I were extremely lucky to be able to eat at this fabulous Pub recently. We attended on the 19th of May a Sunday, having heard glowing reports of the roast dinners. However in fairness we have heard many good reports about this place with regards all the food that they serve. My wife chose Roast Pork and I chose the Roast Beef. It was beyond superb. Everything was really nicely cooked. The meat extremely tender and the vegetables crisp. The Landlady (Amanda), has a great team who are courteous, extremely friendly and have brought this great pub back to what it was years ago. It really is worth a visit. Debbie (Chefess), adds her own touch to everything. Whilst I haven't had the chance to try all of the dishes, I am aware that she is one for using local seasonal dishes, such as Venison, Pheasant, Duck, pigeon amongst all the traditional dishes. My only complaint is that we couldn't quite clear our plates, I then spent three sleepless nights worrying about the vegetables and lovely roast potatoes that we both had to leave. Great place and we can't wait to return. Thank you Debbie, Amanda and your great team.

Whilst on holiday in the area I had pre-booked a table for Sunday lunch. We arrived 15 mins early but were shown to our table nonetheless. First the positive, the roast dinner we had was beautiful, however the overall experience was spoilt by the following. Once seated the waitress said she’d send someone over to take our drink order - 20 mins later we were still waiting. Just before we were about to go up to the bar she realised we’d been forgotten and sent the waiter to our table. Once our food was brought to us we were asked if we wanted any sauces and I requested some horseradish - 10 mins later I was still waiting, watching the waitress attend to other diners, obviously having forgotten about it. We approached the bar and the waiter brought some over. Finally, and this really was the biggest insult, when we’d finished our main course the waitress came to collect the plates and instead of the expected “would you like to see the dessert menu”, she said “ we have some people at the bar and we need your table”. We had been sat down at our table for a grand total of 55 mins and that included the first 20 mins we were forgotten! All in all a real shame and all down in my opinion to the one waitress and her lack of customer service.

This is a lovely cosy looking pub, but unfortunately we didn't get to eat in there as we were taken to a little room outside the main building - known as the stable bar - for our meal. It was pouring with rain and really cold and that really didn't help. The people at the other table in there had their meals brought in under a single sheet of silver foil which was almost blowing away in the wind as it came across the yard exposing their lunches to the elements! Also the staff kept leaving the door open and my husband had to keep getting up to shut it! Luckily it stopped raining before our meals came but they still had to come across the yard which is far from ideal on a cold wet March day! The meal itself was acceptable and I did actually it except perhaps for the limp soft roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese with hardly any cheese. If you book to come here just make sure to ask not to be given the stable bar. It'll be fine on a warm summers day, but totally unsuitable for winter!!

We were booked here for a Christmas Party menu with friends last Wednesday, and had pre-booked our lovely sounding menu choices of the following: Starters - "Saffron Crab Bon Bons on a bed of leaves, pickled vegetables, herby dip", and for Mains - "Duo of Turkey Crown and Leg, sage and onion stuffing, pigs in blankets, bread sauce, roast potatoes, sprouts in bacon lardons, honey glazed parsnips, seasonal vegetables, in a red wine jus" We were really looking forward to the evening, until the starters turned up, and the three bon bons each turned out to be one nearly hot, one sort of warm and the other virtually cold, with a pickled piece of carrot, and no herby dip. We were still enjoying ourselves, and didn't really notice the dip was missing until afterwards - when we were presented with the Main course... For a meal, and I mean a run of the mill ordinary meal, it was kind of OK. We ate it mumbling, but still enjoying the company and wine, but enthusing less and less about what we had been presented with. There was no "duo of turkey", just a slab of turkey breast, with no turkey leg whatsoever. My stuffing was a miserable little piece of what was once, I presume, a stuffing ball. NO pigs in blankets, NO bread sauce, yes there were three roast potatoes (though admittedly not exactly the best we've ever had), NO sprouts in bacon lardons, one honey glazed parsnip, a miserable piece of cabbage for the seasonal vegetables (though two of our party reported a pea and a piece of carrot somewhere), and NO red wine jus. Just a bit of ordinary gravy. Awful. We did finally complain when the plates were taken away, and the very helpful barman Callum took note and took the comments back. He returned and said that £5 would be taken off each of our meals, which we accepted. Then came the desserts. Well actually they didn't. After about half an hour, two "Christmas Puddings served with Brandy Sauce" finally turned up. We waited for the other two desserts (another Christmas Pudding, and a Lemon and Fig Ricotta Tartlet), which took a while to come, and we asked Callum politely if there was a problem. He told us that the chef had walked out, and that he had been left on his own to run both the bar and kitchen with no help at all, and had had to figure out how to produce the desserts himself. When we found out this, he had our sympathy. The desserts that Callum produced were excellent, with brandy sauce, a sprinkle and a cape gooseberry on top for presentation. Thank you to Callum for taking on the roles of Barman, Chef, Waiter and Pub Manager all rolled into one to complete the evening. We had pulled the crackers on the table earlier just for the hell of it (with the jokes sadly matching the quality of the starters and main meals we'd had), said our 'thank you's to Callum for his efforts, and left him returning to the kitchen to do all the washing up. Merry Christmas Crow's Nest! It'll be a while.

What a fabulous pub, so friendly, warm and welcoming. We only popped in for a quick drink on Sunday as we were staying nearby and ended up having a couple. The staff were all lovely as were the locals. We will definitely come back again. The food that was being served looked lovely as well.

This shop was amazing! The staff were so nice, the apple pie was so tasty and I think they made the burger meat themselves so it was amazing. Definitely go to this restaurant!!!!

Excellent pub! First time here today. We came on a cold, snowy day to find a big open fire, friendly service and delicious food! It's not surprising that the curried scotch egg is a favourite amongst others, it was full of flavour and quite substantial for a starter plate! The fish and chips were cooked so well, some of the best chips I've had in a pub, super crispy, as was the batter! And the samphire was a lovely addition. Highly recommend, we'll be back!

Great pub if you’re looking to eat or just sit in front of an open fire after a nice walk on Bodmin Moor.

Booked Sunday lunch, assured accessible for disability. Arrived to find small overcrowded pub. Couldn't get through door, ignored by staff. People on reserved table finishing pudding. Asked for assistance, instructed to be patient! No choice but to leave at 2.30pm. Very poor!!!

Arrogant young staff that seemed offended and surprised that we were not entirely happy to hear that most of the menu was unavailable or described as ‘sold out’ despite it being only 6:45pm and us having booked a week in advance at the cost of £15 booking fee. Also with the restaurant being half empty. The fact we had the audacity to question the lack of options at such an early hour was met with the delightful response of “it’s a restaurant and sometimes this happens, if you don’t like it you can leave”. Given the aggressive and over confident attitude of the young lady, and with her clearly limited customer service awareness or skills, we had no choice but to do just that.

Back in May last year we had dinner here. We had chicken burger, scampi, children's sausage and children's fish. The chips were very good, as was the burger. The batter on the scampi was unusual and the batter on the fish was sweet, almost like a doughnut.
