I believe this has just re opened as the Crown Spice Lounge (we are not local). Anyway, we just had a delicious takeaway, including an excellent house special with chicken tikka and mint, plus a smoky, tasty aubergine bhaji. Would definitely recommend based on this experience.

The gentleman who owns this should either concentrate on running a hotel or a restaurant as he clearly cannot do both. On arrival he had gone out with all the keys to the rooms. We had arranged for early check in finally got room key at 5 o’clock. Told the front door would be locked maybe 10 maybe 10.30 and would not be unlocked until around 10 the next morning. If we wanted to be out early we were told to use the fire escape at the rear. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We had a lovely meal from here, ordered over the phone and collected from them. There was so much food, more than enough for 2 people, it was fresh and very tasty.

I visited with a friend and family and we all had something different from the menu. It was really good pub food and there was a lovely lively atmosphere.

I would have given it 5 stars if they hadn't run out of Butty Bach. The food was excellent and good value. Four of us with drinks came to £81. Still a pub although mostly a restaurant.

We called into The Crown on the 3 nights as we were staying close by. Stacey and Reuben offer great service and the bar has a wide choice of drinks. Staff were great with the dog. We had excellent food from the Indian restaurant highly recommended!

Popped in for lunch recently, sat on the patio with lovely views over the River Wye. Ordered a fish and chips which was average and a cream tea but the scone was stale, it arrived warm as if they had tried to freshen it up but that didn't work. Disappointing.

Came again with friends. We all had something different off the menu and each of us said how tasty the dishes were. Not overly spiced and cooked with care. Portions were large so we were glad that we had opted to go straight to the mains. Certainly no room for desserts. Excellent service and attention. Good beers and nice selection of gins finished the evening off nicely.

Thought we'd give the new Indian restaurant a try. Was empty other than us and lack of atmosphere probably didn't help the experience. The food was quite good, and fairly tasty, but other than to ask for our order, we were hardly spoken to. It's a shame the bar is run separately, as staff there even more surly. My first glass of wine smelled of old dishcloths and had to be replaced. Unlikely to return.

The new tandoori is probably the worst I’ve ever eaten. Waited hour for food (take away) the bar man was great but when got back to our cottage we had to throw food away.. no way was I going to let our young children eat that food.. I wouldn’t let my dogs eat it it was that bad.. then when I called to complain the girl on phone said ok! Ok! Ok! Thank you??? Thank you for what? No offer to put this right not even asked my name. I’m shocked.. for was off.. cold stuff was hot so that tell me not kept in fridge.. some food was congealed.. I’m fuming..

It's sad to say that a once picturesque and lovely Inn hotel has lost its traditional charme and features of the past. Today the place is about to be devided into a Indian Tandoori restaurant and the left over of a typical English pub.

This place has lots of potential but is an a state of flux, the management team having been removed. The owner was running the pub with a skeletal staff and seemed extremely stressed by the whole thing. It did not make for a relaxed ambience! I would give it a miss for a while while he sorts it out, which I feel sure he will.

Stopped here for a few drinks for a couple of hours and was made very welcomed by Sue, the landlady. Discovered the delights of the local brew - Butty Bach, a Wye Valley ale. If you like ales then don't miss this! Shame I don't live nearer to this 'real' pub!

Our party of 16 adults were staying in a rental property 3 doors away from the Crown and visited for drinks. The staff were friendly and welcoming and served good local ales and cider. However the tripadvisor page had a comment "opening soon" which was ambiguous and our researcher could not get any more info....she phoned the hotel without response.

First time visit to Rasoi in Ross. Had a selection of starters, mains and Rice dishes. Collected the meal and ten minute walk back home the food was piping hot and delicious. All agreed an excellent meal with plenty left for breakfast. Will definately use again.

We ordered a takeaway at 6.05 and were advised to come in 40 minutes, the food wasn’t handed over until after 7.30 - 45 minutes late and the service in the restaurant was poor and either under staffed or unable to deal with the number of covers. We’ve been using this restaurant for 8 years but no more. Shocking experience and no there were coming back with food missing!
