The Crown Stadhampton in Oxford

Very enjoyable lunch at the Crown. We had Sunday roast ( chicken ) and local sausages accompanied with a nice Sauvignon blanc from NZ . Nice pub environment and super service ! Definitely coming back soon !

Took the children and myself to the pub for Sunday lunch. Warm welcome and that included the children. Fabulous lunch with a crisp Yorkshire pudding to dip in my gravy. Nice meat that the team explained was sourced locally (which is my vibe). Children had a kiddy meal and had clean plates. Massive portions too. Highly recommend and we will be back soon.

Booked for 7 for Sunday Lunch for daughters birthday. Staff couldn’t do more for us with suggestions and even making up jugs of Pimms. Food enjoyed by all & beer quality spot on. Long wanted to visit here and glad we did

We popped in early on New Year's Eve for some food. As it is under new management we didn't know what to expect. The service was first class, there was a lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing. There seems to be lots of little areas to where people can play dart's, meet friends during a dog walk or have a home cooked meal. I can't wait to return, hopefully for a Sunday roast soon.

Devine breakfast baps. We popped in for a bit of breakfast and the twist on a traditional breakfast bap was a real eye opener. If your nearby or local you have to pop in for something to eat. We will definitely be coming back

This is a fab little pub and the food is delicious. The interior is very chic and they serve our very own OX44 Gin as a part of their collection which always makes it a fab place to visit on any occasion! Be sure to tell them that we sent you!

Never judge as book by its cover ( the exterior facade)on arriving, more than pleasantly surprised,impeccable, efficient service by Sam + team, absolutely delicious supper ,( Chef you must stay,) well done , most enjoyable on all counts

Wow - what a local gem! Visited on a whim as we’re fairly local and been meaning to try for ages. Fantastic burgers cooked perfectly and delicious crepes! We couldn’t resist trying the garlic bread - cheesy!Amazing service from lovely people - would 100% recommend! (We were served by lovely Nick!) Definitely try if you like a relaxed vibe and delicious food!

We have lived in Stadhampton for nearly 23 years and during that time, I can count on my hand the number of times we have been over to eat and/or drink at The Crown. It has always been the very 'poor relation' to The Crazy Bear.Not so now. We went for a meal on Friday night, and I have to say, the food was delicious and good value. The Crown is now a place which would definitely be on my list for more visits.

Wow what a characterful little gem this is! A menu which ranges from crepes to burgers to some professionally prepared French dishes both as snacks and main courses: something for everyone and in my opinion very good value for money. (If the car park is full there are numerous safe parking places in the road opposite and on the adjacent Common)

Mainly French cuisine in restaurant run by Michel Sadones and his family, who also run the wonderful Bookbinders Arms in Jericho and newly acquired James Street Tavern.I chose La Poullaliere en Folie for my starter which was beautifully presented, as was my main of Coq au Vin.Both very tasty and cooked to perfection.Try as I might I could not resist the Profiteroles for a dessert.Staff always extremely welcoming

Had a lovely lunch at The Crown today. Amazing food and great friendly service from Josh. Wonderful that this pub has been given a new lease of life. Definitely will be returning.

Having lived in the village over 20 years and seeing The Crown in many states, I’m so pleased the lovely Sadones family have given it a well needed face lift! The food is fantastic and the pub boasts a lovely family atmosphere. It has something for everyone, with the restaurant and lounge area, along with a TV and games room. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and do their upmost to make everyone feel comfortable - nothing is too much trouble, especially for Eloise and Gabbie who are the lovely ladies behind the bar! Thank you to the Sadones family for giving us the fantastic village pub we deserve! p.s Jo and Josh behind the bar are just as lovely as the ladies!

This place is so great - the food is unreal and the new uplift is so lovely!! The new 'den' out the back is great for the 'younger' lot and I can see it will be used a lot over the football season. Darts, TV, pool table, music, slot machine. Books for kids and card gamesDon't let this put you off those, this is all enclosed in their own room while the main bar / restaurant area is such a relaxed atmosphere, the food was served in great time and the prawns where to die for. The staff, Elouise and Gabby (sisters I believe) brought such a friendly family vibe and when the chef came to check up on them they were so funny. Really great works both of you - all the customers enjoy seeing you when they come in. Really really recommend this place, such a great find!!!

A group of us went from work for lunch last Friday and it was so good - they've done the place up so nicely and the menu selection is great. The portions are very generous and all the meals were delicious. I just wish they were open more lunchtimes!

Been visiting regularly since new owners took over at the end of last year but this was the first fish & chip Friday visit.

We had a gorgeous meal here a few weeks ago - in fact we have been back since. The mains are delicious and hearty and the crepe desserts! So good! It’s a relatively new takeover of this pub and it’s lovely!

We had the most delicious Sunday roast on Mother’s Day . It was a set menu. Very good value. Everything about the meal was superb. Beef was excellent. Gorgeous vegetables. Loved the kale with bacon .... can’t fault anything about it. Staff are polite and helpful and they remember things about the last visit which is very impressive.

Visited with friend and we both had excellent meals. It was fish Friday,friend had fish and chios and I had moules. Mine was a very good size portion in an excellent broth which wasn't too creamy. Beautiful chips and garlic bread to accompany it. My friends they had a beautifully light tempura like batter and the minted mushy peas tasted superb. Almost as important as the void though the staff were so friendly and attentive. Particularly like to mention Gabriel and Josh xx we will certainly be going there again

This was a lovely surprise on our journey home. Our roast lamb and pork was fantastic. The service was friendly and it was good value.

Had the duck and hosin and plum sauce crepe with a salad it was absolutely delicious would really recommend a visit here nice staff brilliant and attentive thank you xcx L

Went for a meal tonight as oven broken! Heard great things about the new owners and the quality of the food. Really nice blend of traditional pub complete with locals and lovely food. This place is going places so get in quick.

I was pleased to see the new menu, improved ambience and friendlier welcome at one of my locals - such a positive change. I look forward to the local community embracing the changes and enjoying the delicious French fair. It still has a Sky TV for the sport, but is toned down and not obtrusive. Wishing the new publicans every success. Well spotted for locating this formerly neglected local.

Finalmente, el Crown en Stadhampton está sirviendo comida decente y el interior se ve mucho mejor. Fuimos a las 5 pm el viernes por la noche para tomar una copa y pedir pescado y papas fritas. Mis dos años disfrutaron del cómodo sofá y había algunos libros para niños en el costado que ayudaron a entretenerla. Llevamos el pescado y las patatas fritas a casa para comer y estaban buenísimo. ¡No puedo esperar a ver qué más se hace para mejorar el lugar!

In the short time it's been opened under new management, this village pub has made such a difference to the locals.

Lovely fluffy fresh fish 🐠 with crispy batter with door step chips and a spoon full of mushy peas - what more does one want Delicious 😋

Our group of friends stopped here for a lunchtime meal with drinks.The food and service were great;staff very helpful&friendly;there is a big carpark;plus a garden which is good for children-safe.

Recientemente se mudó a la zona y este lugar es bastante bueno. La comida no es un restaurante pero a veces es lo que necesitas. ¡La baguette de atún mayonesa y las batatas fritas eran como cinco!

Nuestro grupo de "Motorcyclist 22 senior llamado aquí un almuerzo. Habíamos hecho reservas; hay un montón de espacio aparcamiento; cada uno de nosotros habíamos hecho nuestras opciones de comida, así que sólo tenía que earlyer elegir una bebida y pagar. Mi elección fue la torre de pollo (pollo picante hamburguesa juegos en un panecillo con patata/aros de cebolla lechuga; con patatas fritas y una pinta de Doombar +. Hay un montón de espacio interior y un jardín, mesa de billar y un bar bien surtido, el servicio con una sonrisa era genial. Esta fue nuestra segunda visita recientemente.

Visited this put to watch SKY Sport Football. Really friendly staff and punters made us feel welcome. Nice Comfy sofa right in front of the TV which was great and best of all my Hubby's team won so he was very happy too!

Tenía intención de visitar Bear Crazy siguiendo la recomendación y en la zona, por desgracia, completamente lleno, así que estábamos buscando en otro sitio y pasó a la Corona, suerte! El servicio era encantadora y pedimos el asado de cerdo, deliciosa, nunca tuvimos cerdo licitación, se derretía en la boca y roasties casi tan bien como la nuestra en casa. Bien vale la pena visitar, a un precio muy razonable y sin duda volveremos de nuevo si en la zona.

It's a local pub with pub grub and some home cooked dishes. I had the burger. Everything was competent, but doesn't compete with the better burgers you can get elsewhere. I gather the home-made pies are excellent, but didn't try them. Lovely staff

Visitamos aquí como teníamos una reunión con alguien y necesitaba una comida. Nos quedamos muy sorprendidos que podrían caber a corto plazo. Fueron muy amables allí. El servicio era genial. Lo hicieron dos platos por 10 libras. o 3 cursos para 12 libras. La comida era muy buena y casera. Podías elegir tener más caros elementos en un menú si hubiese deseado. Disfrutamos muchísimo nuestra estancia allí. Sin duda visitar otra vez si estamos en la zona

Visitamos La Corona para el almuerzo y no me decepcionó.

Eso es bastante más. Sin duda la comida tiene un poco mejor. único problema con este lugar es que parece cambiar de manos mucho. Así que nunca estará presupuesto determinados lo que le gusta.

Popped in for a quick meal while moving our daughter into the village. Great pub food and really friendly people. You'll always find a welcome here - even if you follow Wales in the 6 nations!

In an area of Oxfordshire where expensive restaurants with fancy menus abound, here is a value outlet with no less quality food. The pub itself, once neglected and easily overlooked, has a car park either side of it and serves Greene King real ale. The restaurant is separate from the main bar and food has been served since the last two years. Decoration is decent and pleasant without being stunning. Atmosphere was friendly on our second visit and we should certainly plan to visit again on occasion. The menu is not vast but doesn't try to compete with the higher priced alternatives in the area. Winning qualities are the menu and food.
