Excellent family oriented pub! Warm welcome and introduction from both Nick& Nicky, who found us a table and let us know what they had behind the bar. Bouncy castle and excellent park area both on site, plenty of drinks selections (and very decent wine!), and great food from Table Fresh, who are based here too. I did not encounter any bad behaviour, language and certainly no drugs as per other reviews. I felt my family were very safe and we will now be regularly visiting the pub. Breath of fresh air to have somewhere in the village that the whole family can enjoy!

This pub is an absolute gem! The best of the best! The atmosphere is always buzzing with good vibes, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a drink. The landlords, Nick and Nicky, are truly amazing. They are so friendly, welcoming, and they go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels right at home. They do so much for charity and are truly two of the most selfless individuals I have met in a long time! Whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for the evening, the service is top-notch and the community spirit is palpable. They're not just running the pub; they're always up for a laugh and making sure everyone is having a blast. Whether it's a lively weekend night filled with music and dancing or a spontaneous midweek gathering, the energy here is unbeatable. It's the kind of place where you walk in as a stranger and leave with new friends. Perfect for fun, laughter, and unforgettable nights out. Highly recommend!

Superb pub. We never fail to have a fab time. They run really successful quiz nights on a Wednesday and there's always something going on at the weekend whether it's football, live singers or family fun days. On top of that the landlords are incredibly community minded and have raised thousands upon thousands for local groups and families in need. The food is run by an entirely separate company, currently Table Fresh. A real pub for real people. Ignore those low scorers; some folk are full of nonsense and/or jealousy.

When myself and my partner moved to the village, we thought we’d head to the local pub to see what the place was about. We were welcomed by the owners and obviously recognising that our faces were new they came to chat to us, got to know us both and invited us to quiz nights held on a Wednesday. The quiz is a family friendly jovial atmosphere, even thought we wasn’t very good we still won a prize and even made it to the higher or lower game! Honestly an amazing night and now a staple for our Wednesdays ! Now that we’ve established ourselves to the village, I can see how much this pub, Nick and Nicky do for the local community. From fundraisers for local sports teams to the youth club and local families who just need a helping hand! This pub isn’t a bougie 5* sit down meal joint but if you want friendly faces, decent beer and to feel part of the community then this is the place!

Excellent carvery. Really good value. The roast pork was delicious. Great service . Really friendly atmosphere . It was the first one and I just hope it will be regular. I recommend it highly.

What an excellent public house, suitable for a quiet drink with my wife, kids and friends but also great for a couples night out! The landlord and landlady are awesome and have been a breath of fresh air to the South Oxfordshire pubic house game since they took ownership. The part time DJ isn’t half bad either 😜 They also sell Singha on tap and that’s really all a pub needs. Sub £5 for anything worth drinking - where else locally can say that? I was In this pub over 12 months ago and I get foul language gets used in pubs but at the same time it is a public order offence, there was a young girl sitting close to us while I was with my 3 year old daughter and the language was unacceptable for anywhere, I politely asked if she could reign it in a little but I was met with more foul language, the landlady was present at this time and it seems as I fought fire with fire my language was not acceptable and it seems as I got barred because of this, not that I would choose to use this public house again because of the drugs that was clearly on show and the food is probably the worst I’ve ever had in a pub, what a dive, 3 and a half stars is very Generous

We held our daughters christening at the crown today and they were so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure it went smoothly (these things can be stressful). The added bonus of the bouncy castles kept the little people entertained. Everyone thought the food was amazing they snaffles most of it 🤣 🐷 Definitely recommend and of course definitely go again. Pity it's closed on my Birthday, would have loved to have visited, no matter, maybe next year ! All the staff are great here, always feel welcome !

Great value drinks, a warm welcome, fantastic beer garden and Sky Sports. The pub has changed hands and is now a free house so the new owners really do care about reputation and maintaining a thriving pub in the village.

Lost count how many Chinese we've had from the crown never had cause to complain always hot and tasty , good delivery service . Thanks Uncle .

After a few problems getting hold of a menu (no website), we managed to order our meal. It's great to have a Chinese food delivery service to our small town. It was a Friday evening so we expected a reasonable wait but the delivery driver arrived after 30 minutes and dropped our meal off. The food was hot and fresh. I've had better but this was pretty good. The chicken chow mien was excellent. Thank you Lucky House - get your menu on line!

The food is way overpriced and is your standard freezer to microwave or grill prepacked food. The serving staff were very nice but we found the management to be rude. Several times we've been in for a drink as it's been totally deserted, the management have probably scared everybody away!

A very unfreindly welcome. It took me so long to get served I gave up and went somewhere else for a drink.

We had a Chinese take away on 25 April 2018. The food was terrible. Noodles in a horrible hot spicy sauce ( curry style hot). We couldn’t work out whether one dish was chicken, fish or vegetable as covered in the most awful batter. Subsequently checked and it had a zero food standard rating.

We came in here after a meal & a couple of drinks in one of the other 2 pubs in the village ( both gastro pubs ) The Crown is the antithesis to the other pubs, having laminate flooring & modern, fairly spartan looking fittings. 2 large bars, one more of a lounge with a T. V. & the other with pool table & T. V. screen. All the clientele were in the latter bar. Not very busy, no one in the former bar except us but I would expect the place to do well when sport is on view & if I was a local it would probably be where I would mostly go. Found the barman very friendly & the draught Morland & San Miguel excellent. There is a Chinese Take Away attached.
