Shocking. Witnessed the manager literally shouting at a lady customer, don’t know what she must have done or said but surely it didn’t warrant such abuse that the whole bar could have heard. Absolutely disgusting behaviour

My wife and I had a lovely meal with our daughter and son in law. The Crown Inn is a nice place, clean and tidy with a good atmosphere. The staff were polite and friendly and showed us to our table The food was excellent. I had chicken and ham pie, which was delicious and my wife had sesame chicken strips with a dipping sauce. Daughter had the same and son in law had the fish and chips. Everyone commented on how nice it was. The portions were spot on but, unfortunately, left no room for pudding. Just the right amount of time between arriving, ordering and the food coming to have a drink and a chat. We'll definitely be returning.

First time visit, looking for somewhere to eat/drink whilst catching up With friends we had not seen in a while which was halfway’ish between where we each lived. Saw this place pop up on Facebook and it looked promising so we booked a mid day table for four and we were not disappointed. Firstly we found the pub very welcoming and cosy, and then found the menu offering an excellent choice of food. Additionally the real ale options was excellent. When the food was served up the plates were hot (always a good sign) and all looked really good. The pies were proper job type pies, the gammon very tasty, I had the fish and chips and can honestly say it was the best plate of fish and chips I have had in quite some time. Lovely light batter on the haddock Nd the fish itself was just beautiful. Very healthy portions, so much so we thought we may not have dessert. But, we let it settle and we all opted for a dessert each. Making the decision of which one to choose as was difficult as all sounded nice, I cannot speak for the others in our party but my Oreo and White Chocolate Cheese Cake was excellent. One thing for sure, we will be returning again.

When it comes to a pub Sunday lunch i automatically think of a massive plate of bland boiled potatoes, overcooked veg with a bit of meat & a token Yorkshire pudding. The Crown certainly proved me wrong. As a party of five for a family birthday lunch four of us went for beef with one chicken. Roast potatoes were crispy & fluffy, meat was beautiful along with a homemade large Yorkshire pudding. Lovely mix of perfectly cooked vegetables along with two sides of cauliflower cheese. Puddings were amazing. I’m a bit of a foodie so if a meal isn’t as good or better than something I can cook myself then for me it’s not worth eating there. For sure, I’d certainly eat at the Crown again. I’m pleased we booked as there was a constant stream of people coming in. Lovely friendly welcome from the manager & staff. On departing I enjoyed a little leg pulling & asked to speak to the manager. His face was a picture until I advised him that the meal was fantastic. Big compliments to the chef & staff for their excellent work & service.

Ventured out to The Crown Inn on a Monday evening with my partner and young child. On arrival welcome was great and we were given a choice of tables, the pub itself is lovely with a great sofa seating area too. Beer selection was excellent and the young lady behind the bar was extremely hospitable. Menu was surprisingly varied vs what we were expecting with some delicious options. After two fantastic starters and mains and a few more beers we were absolutely stuffed and fully satisfied from an excellent meal that was also good value for the quality also. A place we will definitely be revisiting!

While staying at a local campsite, we were pleased to find an establishment so close to our site. We booked for an evening meal and were plesantly surprised to find the Sunday Lunch menu was still available. My wife and I both opted for the Roast Beef. It was served professionally, within an acceptable time frame and the presentation was good, however, the initial attempt to cut the beef let the side down. Although the beef it's self was very tender and the roast potatoes nicely cooked, when eaten, trying to cut through either with a knife edge that may well have had trouble cutting butter, ruined what otherwise was a very enjoyable and favourably priced meal.

My daughter who isn't much of a Sunday luncher who said she would come every week for this one! Desserts of Bailey's cheesecake, or white choc cheesecake, fruit tarts, choc fudge cake, syrup sponges..... or the best flavoured ice creams.... It is apparently a dog friendly pub but you need to ring and book if you are taking a dog with you(01673 878294). There didn't seem to be any steps, just a slightly raised threshold, but the car park is a bit bumpy and has loose soil and pot holes if you are using a wheelchair. All in all, a lovely country pub, and well worth a visit.9

We were visiting family in tge area and they suggested we go to the Crown for lunch. Really glad we went. It was early afternoon and very quiet which can often lead you to wonder how the food will turn out. However we had nothing to worry about, all of the meals we ordered were excellent, some of the best eating we have had in ages. My wife chose veggie which can often be quite dodgy because the person cooking has no idea what constitutes a good veggie meal, Not a problem here, it was the best veggie dish she has had outside a dedicated veggie restraunt. The portions were huge and by the time we were done we were well and truly stuffed. The young lady serving us was very friendly and helpful. There were some good beers, I tried the Wobbly Wherewolf, a beer I guess that had been brewed for halloween. We will definitely eat there again at our next visit.

We were en route home from a walk in a Lincoln country park and decided to eat somewhere. We do not know Lincolnshire that well so it was by chance that we happened upon the Crown. A big car park so easy to park. The exterior was not pretty but the place looked fine. We are glad that we went in because the welcome was friendly and the service was excellent. The interior was mainly quite rustic with the addition of Chesterfields and tub chairs for comfortable lounging. The landlady allowed me to taste a couple of beers before I ordered. There were a couple of things not available from the menu due to a run on food because of the recent Lincolnshire Show. There was plenty of choice. The food was excellently cooked and ample portions. Help was given ( and a phone call made) re opening times of nearby aircraft museums- very thoughtful & helpful. I have just read the other reviews and it is not surprising that most are excellent. Dessert of baileys cheesecake was delicious. The fire was on and warmed the room nicely, as it was a cool evening. Staff were very friendly and obliging. We visit from time to time for a drink and dinner. It's what you'd expect - good beer, nice selection of wines and spirits, and honest pub grub. Nothing earth shattering but perfectly fine for a night out.

It is a pity we were not a bit later and we could have tried the lunch menu as it looked very good, while we were there the phone rang several times with bookings and the landlady and her staff were very friendly. This is a lovely old fashioned pub and very clean. If in the area I would make a b-line for this place to try out the food.

Having passed a few times kept noticing there were always plenty of cars in car park so decided to stop off for Sunday lunch. So glad we did! All staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was good and not rushed. Choice of three meats. Fresh vegetables. Dish of crackling to help your self. Really chilled comfy atmosphere. Nice clean pub. Definitely worth popping in if you're in the area.

We are looking to buy a property in this area and decided to pop in to check it out ....... Dog friendly being high on our list. It is not only dog friendly but person friendly too! We didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food but the atmosphere was warm and cosy. Will definitely be our 'local' if we move to that area.

Came here for a Mothers Day carvery lunch and really enjoyed it. All of the meats were very well cooked as were the accompanying vegetables. Warm, friendly atmosphere and all at a good price. What's not to like?

We had a delicious three course meal here today , having chosen from the main menu even though the carvery also tempted us ,The food was well presented with a smile from the waitress, The pub has a lovely atmosphere and is clean and homely. We will certainly return and recommend this pub to friends and family .

I revisited this pub again for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago. I originally visited in June and gave a good review of the Sunday lunch with a minor criticism that there was no crackling with the pork. Pleased to report on my recent visit there was a bowl of crackling available for those of us who like a bit of crunch with their dinner - and the Sunday lunch was just as good as last time!

Visit this part of Lincolnshire regularly but have struggled to find a good pub for lunch .... not anymore. The Crown Inn has got it all. Great menu, superb beers and super friendly staff. Apparently The Crown was used by many airman based in the area hence lots of pictures of WW11 aircraft. This is my kind of pub ! Will absolutely most definitely be back (got to try the Chilli Pork with Rice next time) it's a gem of a place.

We visited The Crown Inn one Sunday a couple of weeks ago. I opted for the carvery and the 2 family members with me chose from the main menu. The carvery was one of the best Sunday lunches I have had for a long while - special mention to the extra creamy mashed potatoes and flavoursome swede. The carvery set up was a little less professional than some, with the servery in the corner of the pool room and sauces laid out on the pool table, but was adequate for what was needed. There was a short wait as more meat and veg had to be brought out. The lady carving the meat gave generous slices and commented several times how nice the fat would be if put back into the oven to crisp up and turn into crackling - shame we didn't get any crackling as it is my favourite part of the meal! Despite these minor criticisms the meal was excellent with all the veg having plenty of taste. We ordered tea with the meal and it came in a huge proper tea pot - not one of those annoying little metal pots that dribble everywhere. Service was good and the surroundings pleasant. I would be very happy to eat here again.

We decided to have an evening meal here after a recommendation from our holday cottage owner. Although the outside looks a little tired, do not be deceived...the pub was warm and friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. The menu wasn't huge but along with the specials board there was a good choice and the food was delicious and very good value for money. We would most definately recommend the Crown and wouldn't hesitate to go back when we are on holiday here again.

Went here for a meal with my dad and sister. There was a big party also in, which we had been warned about, but the service was great. Good selection of food and specials at a reasonable price. The newish owner has really made the place welcoming, a great improvement from before. We always come for a meal when visiting my dad who lives in the village and it's nice to see someone making a go of it. Must try the Sunday lunch next time. Hope this pub goes from strength to strength at the heart of the village.

We knew this place was under relatively new ownership so thought we would give it a try. We arrived about 5.30 on a Wednesday evening so it was fairly quiet but received a warm welcome and although it was the end of April it had actually been snowing during the day and they had a lovely log fire glowing in the dining room.

Have been back to this pub a few times now, mainly for its Subday Carvery which I gave thoroughly enjoyed every time, along with my little boy and friends. Staff are always friendly and happy to help you in any way. Had evening meal there one time with friends, a little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for in the restaurant. Highly recommend the children's play area outside the pub, had so much time and money spent on it to keep your children entertained and happy.

Were to start!! what looked like an out of the way pub in the Lincoln countryside hide such a gem inside. A true public house, light well decorated clean and friendly. Entered and greeted by the pub dog doing her job in letting the owner and staff know that customers had arrived. The bar was being made ready for a darts competition but that did not interfere with our service and greeting. The owner was open friendly and welcoming and inquiry about food was dealt with swiftly, having selected our dishes we were offered the homemade soup for an additional 50p !! Yes that is not a typo, 50p for an add on soup which was well balanced hearty and worth the visit on its own. Long may this pub stay as a beacon to all visitors.

First time I've visited The Crown since the newish owners . Lovely improvements to the inside giving the whole place a warm and cosy feel. Went for a meal with father in law who lives in the village. Very friendly staff and good quality ale. The menu is not extensive but I consider that a good thing as it shows the food will be well prepared- it was. Proper mushrooms in homemade batter to start, really well cooked and tasty mixed grill with proper chips, accompanied by a fine bottle of Merlot. I was most impressed. Pubs down South could learn a lot from The Crown. Thank you

We had a delicious meal with friends on a Wednesday evening and the place was packed. However, this didn't affect the service which was great. Everybody enjoyed their choice of menu. My only regret is they'd sold out of sticky toffee pudding. Maybe next time, because there will be a next time
