My parents and I really enjoyed our Sunday roast. The roast beef was tender and they had a decent vegetarian option too. Really good value and the pub garden was sunny and warm.

What a fabulous welcome from Barry! We decided to try our local as we have not had a Thachers Gold for 8 months! We sat in the garden in unusually warm sunshine and enjoyed beautifully chilled pints of cider! Looking forward to returning for a meal soon. Highly recommended.

This is a really friendly local pub. Basic grub and a warm welcome. Lots of room or you can sit in the smaller bar and warm up by the log fire!

Stopped here at 2pm on a Sunday after visiting Puzzlewood. Only about 6 people in there and the pub is a good size. Had a roast beef and gammon ham dinner which was really nice with tasty gravy. The barman was very nice and helpful. There is parking and a garden. This pub had the cleanest loos I’ve ever been in . It’s sad that our pubs are closing and this one needs more people to stop and enjoy a bevvy or bite to eat to keep it open. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Cracking pub dog friendly and great traditional pub grub. We will be back soon. Plenty of parking and a large beer garden for the good weather.

Directly opposite the village cricket green and near to the Forest of Dean steam railway, this pub provides a good selection of ales, cider and for the foreign enthusiasts, lager, they have a great selection of food with a restaurant area and also a recently developed rear outside eating area, there is a small children’s play area inside a fenced area which also has seating. Lovely place

The new owners are rude especially the daughter (tammy) it's filthy. And food is discussing. Please avoid like the plague.

As a visitor working in the area we popped in for a late bite to eat. The landlady (Rosie) couldn't do enough! Although the fixtures and fittings are tired, the service was great! We were treated as family and after the first meal we were enticed back by being offered their very own Christmas favourite the next night of a steak pie! And to be honest, we struggled to finish it due to the generous portion size! Beer was well kept and the local banter was sensible and coherent! Thanks Rosie and Jock for making our job that little more bearable!

Great tour of the mine. Very interesting and informative. The guide was really good at explaining and he is clearly very passionate about what he does.. You can visit the site for free and without booking, but if you want to go on the mine tour you need to book and pay online via the website. Just beware that the café closes much earlier than advertised and also that some of the information on the website is out of date, including the café menu.

Dont bother wasting your money.!! If you are not in a hurry, want to help yourself to condiments and ask for service, and get some dodgy food, go for it! Really disappointing and didn't even offer a refund!

Recommended by the local Dean's Wood campsite with a caveat of it being 'rustic', we enjoyed a very tasty excellent value for money meal and drinks. Our dogs were welcome, and the Land Lady was lovely. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for all weather. With a small play area available for children. Watch out for the local sheep wandering the roads and verges!
