I had a House Special Pan Fried Salmon fillet and quite honestly it was awful. The salmon was totally overcooked so that it was dry and the sauce topping was tasteless and unidentifiable. The mixed green vegetables were fine and I did eat most of it because I was hungry and was journeying on so needed sustenance. I complained and no manager or chef came to investigate which surprised me...never again! No complaints about the surroundings just the food.

I used to visit when it was cheaper and the meals were what you paid for not great, the food now is a lot better but a bit more expensive which is what I prefer, will definitely go again

The pub has been redecorated new seating and garden area is vastly improved but the toilets are still a little shabby. The disappointing thing was the new menu had no gluten free meals on it- there was before . Staff are polite and service is good but this rating was due to poor menu .

Good modern pub with plenty of parking at the rear. Decent selection of beers, lagers and decent win, good for live sport and they have live music, check dates!. They also have quiz, poker nights, dart board, check their website. Good outside covered area with heaters and small garden with bench seating. They serve basic pub grub and overall appears popular especially late afternoon/early evening and at the weekend with the live sport. Decent beer & wine prices, dog friendly with free water and biscuits for the "Mutts". Overall, a decent place for a drink

Really nice food and great service, had a family meal for 16 people, everyone enjoyed the food it was all fresh cooked and tasted delicious. The timings between the first and last meals coming out was slightly off meaning we didn’t all eat together and the table slightly cramped. However o would still rate a 5 as they got everything else spot on

Not been here for a long time but used to get lovely meals. Unfortunately was very disappointed today. Myself and daughter had a very mediocre Sunday roast and my grandson had sausage mash. His was such a small portion and no veggies offered on the children's menu!. Had to go to the bar to order a dessert as we felt pretty invisible to the staff. Three of them stood there chatting and not looking at what the customers want. Had to go and ask to pay the bill too. We won't be returning!

What has happened ?? the food used to be great but the last few times we have been it has not been good. We had Sunday lunch which was not good at all!!! The meat was chewy, and the rest was ruined by the gravy. It was dishwater with added herbs and garlic it was terrible. Shame as we used to visit there a lot but not after the worst Sunday roast we have ever had.

Food was very average overpriced and warm not hot . Meat was tough cutlery not adequate to cut . Staff inexperienced sat chatting like teenages about their love life’s not what you want to hear on a quiet Sunday lunch . Will not be going again

Pub heating was far to hot staff stood in front of fan customers melting food ok peas were cold and dried out Lime and soda nearly £4 rip off would cost the pub less than 10p to make its cheaper to drink alcohol

Had a lovely lunch time meet up, never been before but chos The Crown in Lymm as a half way meeting point between Salford and Helsby Lunch menu with plenty of choice and good value. Food arrived hot and well presented. Staff very friendly, comfy and welcoming atmosphere, Would go again and recommend.

My first time in here with some retired work mates 4 of us in total. Dave the assistant manager made us very welcome thanks Dave. We all had the same daytime special priced meal 'Hunters Chicken' which I can strongly recommend. The chicken was lovely and moist not dry at all and the chips were not greasy so overall a really enjoyable meal. The daytime special priced menu was quite extensive too. The 4 of us will return again.

Staff were efficient and friendly. Food was excellent quality and well priced. Thurs night is quiz night. Very good question master and range of questions. Only black mark is that on the 2 occasions I was in the pub there were people vaping inside.

Just brilliant. From the food to the service to the atmosphere it was superb. A seriously dog friendly pub. Food was lovely and the portion sizes were large. This will definitely be my first port of call at lunch in the village next time

My friends and I visit the crown quite often and usually have the sandwiches. Although not a huge choice they are very good. Last night we decided to have a meal...the chicken leek and ham pie...wish I'd stayed with the sandwiches!. The meal had obviously been microwaved because the pastry was rubbery, the mash and peas were dry and the tarragon sauce added absolutely nothing to the meal. Not sure where the ham and leeks went but they definitely weren't in the pie. There seemed to be a lot of people in and out of the kitchen area but obviously there was no proper cooking going on. Lovely pub and very dog friendly but if I go again I think I'll stick with the sandwiches

Lovely meet up with family. Sunday lunch extremely good value, as was the puddings. Lamb shank highly recommended and couldn't believe how great the kids meals were. Perfect size portions, kids plates and cutlery and all for just a pound! Friendly staff and well presented restaurant. Will definitely be back!

My husband went to the crown with some of his workmates booked over phone when arrived was not allowed in pub because all lads had to stand outside in beer garden pouring with rain cold they had ordered a meal and when it came a few pieces of chicken in sweet and sour sour piece of bread no one eat it they travelled all the way from Cheadle to this waste of time pub would not go again and landlord needs practice on his customers service skills they are not trouble makers to wanted a quiet drink to end the year.

We live in Lymm and in normal times enjoy walking to a local pub for a meal. Have done our best to support local businesses recently. The Crown has always had good food and atmosphere. We visited tonight. Followed the path in. Hand written note on door saying only one household to table. Hadn’t booked. Paper copies of QR Scanner around pub but no one suggested we should check in. Table of 8 next to us,various ages and very raucous seemed unlikely that they live together but understand it is hard to police. People wandering around pub without masks. Waitress had mask either pulled down below nose or off all together. Food good as always but felt very uncomfortable. Did say to waitress that I would be posting a review including my concerns as I think that is fair. No reaction. Understand how hard this is for the hospitality industry but felt that The Crown were paying lip service to tick boxes. If anyone there tonight tested positive imminently contact tracing would be impossible. Would normally recommend this place but at the moment would stay away.

My 2 friends and I love visiting the Crown and try to go every week for lunch. Due to restrictions we have to sit in the pub garden. We went today and were very disappointed that during lockdown nothing has been provided in the form of shelter. One heater has been put out which was put on for us but it's quite high so offered very little warmth. We love the food and the staff are always polite but isn't our custom worth a little effort? Sides on the canvas canopy would offer some protection and after all it isn't our fault we cannot sit inside. Surely we deserve some consideration? Only 2 stars given on this occasion I'm afraid

I recently visited with my mother who is visually impaired. We had phoned up and booked a table earlier in the day, but when we arrived we were told that whilst our booking had been recorded a table had not been reserved. We asked for a well lit table, and we’re pointed to a table by the window. This was a good table, until we arrived to find that we were surrounded by spare chairs and high chairs. The staff were friendly, but not very attentive. We ordered 2 bottled tonic waters to drink, and when they arrived the glasses were dirty. We asked for fresh glasses, and when they arrived they were still dirty. Both glasses had lipstick stains on, so we drank from the bottles. The food was average and only lukewarm, although nobody did a check back. At the end of the meal we managed to get attention off one of the waitresses to pay our bill, who finally asked how everything had been. We told the waitress about the food and the glasses, who then told us that the glasses weren’t dirty they simply had watermarks on. When we queried about the lipstick, she again tried to push about the watermarks and the glass wash. If you are struggling with watermarks and stains on the glasses from the glass wash machine, the best option is to steam the glasses over hot water after they’ve been through the glass wash and polish them with blue roll. A disappointing visit.

Had a Bank Holiday meal here. Staff friendly and well organised. Meal OK. Felt relatively safe and happy.

Even though it was under staffed we still had a great time food took over an hour but was given free drinks to make up for it . Our server worked her her fingers to the bone with a big smile so that more than made up for the delay the girl deserves a pay rise

Excellent food and service. However, (I myself have dogs) but having dogs barking in a food pub isn’t the greatest thing.

We came across this by chance and glad we did. The food was so tasty and the portions are generous. The staff were very attentive. The atmosphere is so warm and cosy, very relaxing would visit again soon!!!

Family and friends just had a birthday meal of 15. Amazing the staff couldn't do enough for us, food was delicious could not fault anything also together no one was waiting. Hat of to the chef and his staff for the most delicious food. Everyone really enjoyed it all, 3 courses for 15 absolutely perfect birthday meal. Thank you so much The Crown we had a wonderful time.

This was a stop off to watch a game and what a delightfully excellent venue it is for such an exercise. At least 3 quality TVs and multiple comfortable viewing points.Neat, tidy, spotlessly clean (including the gents) and stylishly smart throughout.Burgers hit the spot.A reasonable range of average / dearer priced beverages. I ordered a coffee, was served a tea but this was corrected shortly thereafter ...... but only got half a cup of coffee when I'd paid (not cheaply) for a full cup ????Service eminently reasonable notwithstanding comments above.We would happily return here again but be nearer the bar if we order coffees again so that we can prompt what seems to be the necessary top ups.

Very impressed with the food and great service. Bar staff very friendly and dog friendly. We went for a stroll around lymm dam and popped into the crown for a bite to eat and a coffee.

Nice and quiet but the food has gone downhill. He had a cheesy garlic bread which was laughably bad, hard as nails and practically inedible. Also need to improve the beer selection, it's very limited.

Live in the town next door but often meet in The Crown to catch up and watch the football. Friendly and spacious. Never had any troubles.

Friendly staff/tasty food/clean environment, with plenty of space to sit & eat. A good general atmosphere. On the day we had lunch it was nice & quiet & very relaxing.

Excellent service from all the staff. Very friendly and welcoming. The food we had was delicious but disappointed not to be able to get dairy free ice cream, custard or cream. It's listed as having vegan options but none were available. We would definitely go back but if you are Vegan don't bother.

The friendly staff and good service go some way to offset the lack of ambience in this pub.

Not been here for quite a long time but was impressed with the menu and drinks choice.I had the ribs while my wife had chicken sizzle portions were on the large side.

Great beer; great food, staff were brilliant, atmosphere was better than it has been for a while, very impressed. Watching football is brilliant in there as we can see a screen everywhere.

I am a regular at the crown and I can tell you now it has gone extremely down hill. Firstly the manager is one of the rudest men I’ve ever met and the wayyself and others have witnessed him treat his customers and even his own staff is completely ridiculous. The other staff are very welcoming and knowledgable and make a great experience. However, the events I’ve been recently witnessing are dreadful. Firstly the manager kicked out a few regularly paying customers and there children for purely being children. And then made them aware that they were no longer welcome at the crown. I think this was unfair and the children only seemed to bother this manager and if he didn’t want to attract families with kids then why have a £1 children’s menu? Secondly I have witnessed many illegal 3 o’clock kick offs which i know the crown have Been caught for before and clearly haven’t learnt. And lastly on multiple occasions I’ve witness this manager and what looked like friends or family completely high on some sort of drugs which is completely wrong to do in any circumstance however even worse in your own pub. I have come to have great relationships with all the staff especially Sarah, Aaron and his girlfriend and some other young ladies as they have always been polite and made real relationships with there customers. However the main problem with the crown is the disgusting state of management.

You would think after coming to this “fine” establishment regularly, and loving the service and not having a complaint to come out of your mouth. Well, I’m afraid to let anyone who wishes to dine here, that you will get poor service from the main manager (whom owns the restaurant). Since the change over, I have not had a great connection and altercation with the manager, but the other staff members, mainly the bar staff are ever so welcoming and make you feel like you’re at home. If you’re wanting to be greeted by terrible attitude, lack of enthusiasm... and illegel drug taking from the manager who drinks his way ON SHIFT around customers. Please, be my guest and sit and have the experience. I will not be coming back to this place as I am disgusted with the illegal activities, the poor management towards the beloved staff and regular customers. Hopefully, he won’t be there long because I enjoy going for a drink as a regular and being welcomed by the staff (minus the manager). Please, never let anyone be around that area if you’re not willing to cope with the abusive atmosphere and lack of management.

We were passing through Lymm on the way to visit family and decided to call in at The Crown. It wasn’t packed but had a few tables of people. After some minor confusion over table service we went to the bar to order our food and were greeted by a pleasant enough fellow who served us our drinks, after a quick scan of the menu we decided on our meals and went back to the bar to order this time greeted by a young girl with the face of a bulldog chewing a wasp and the attitude to match, after glumly taking our order she simply walked off. After a 15 minute or so wait our food was brought to the table again by the young waitress and simply slammed on the table, again without another word she simply turned on her heels and wandered off towards the bar, while eating our meal we noticed chefs using the public toilet as well as the waitress shouting from behind the bar through customers towards a young man I can only presume to be her partner. All in all pleasant food and atmosphere,the first young man we spoke to was friendly and seemed knowledgeable but the pub was let down by the appalling service from other members of staff.

My friend and I out for lunch and thought we’d try The Crown, Saturday afternoon and only us in, with more staff than was needed.

Stumbled upon the quiz night last Sunday whilst in the area and will definitely be heading there again. It was very relaxed and easy to join in using our mobile phones. Great atmosphere highly recommended to all!

Popped in after visiting Lymm dam and over the moon that we did. Good quality beers, pulled well, in the right glasses. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere, had a good laugh with the bar staff. Ended up staying for food and to watch the match - it’s a great place for both! Will be coming back for quiz night soon. Would recommend to everyone

Having visited The Crown previously we decided to visit again with friends. We ordered starters and mains. Food came out quickly but was of a poor standard. I would liken it to school canteen food at best. When we complained to the manager we were told that there was nothing wrong with the food and that they were very popular. The pub was empty bar 4 tables, I was disappointed by his bad attitude having only had one bite of my burger and the rest of the food half eaten. If you work in the service industry you need to not argue with customers. Overall I won’t be back and I would advise others to steer clear too. If the management team wish to contact me directly please feel free to do so.

We visted on Saturday teatime ,had a nice meal and a few drinks ..service was of a good standard and we felt very welcomed .The rugby was on the TVs around the pub ,but wasn’t overly intrusive to us ..children that were in the pub were well behaved with there parents .Over all it was generally a lovely early evening meal and we will highly recommend them for service and food

So where do I start? Well I would just like to say how rude the new manger is at the CROWN pub in Lymm. Basically your not allowed to take your children into the pub even though they have a £1 menu? I would just like to point out that the children were all well behaved tonight and didn’t cause any trouble? They asked if the could go out side so I took them out with adult supervision... then to be spoken to so rudely, he made my 7 year old child cry, then to say we’re not allowed to bring kids in anymore so basically barred us. I would just like to point out that I’ve always took my children in and never had a problem before now ‍♀️ I pay his wages and other people’s all year round and it’s us locals that keep the pub going in the quieter months... well to you all at the crown, you will not be getting my custom again he also said ‘that children should be seen not heard’ Well god forbid you ever have children mate

For a couple of years this was a good place to stop off at. To talk, to watch sport, to enjoy a drink. The previous management ran a pub and a good pub at that. Now, newly taken over the premises is a creche for the feral local children. Screaming, running wildly in and out of tables and chucking litter everywhere. Great if you want a headache. Not so great for a relaxing drink. Fortunately there's an array of adult orientated or well behaved family orientated pubs in the village.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon about two and there were quite a few people in there. I notice also that the car park is a considerable size. So people with large parties could easily park there. It was a very nice place the seating area was well thought out for people with parties or out of the way tables for couples on there own. Every where was nice and clean and well maintained. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made the stop off very enjoyable. The toilets I noticed were very clean and also well maintained. The place I was told also had disabled toilets which were easily accessible although I did not see them but on a flat area of the restaurant. With regards to people in wheelchairs there is a ramp easily access from the car park. With regards to the meal myself and family member had was fantastic!! For starters the meals were presented on hot plates which is always a bonus to me. Can not understand in this day and age why a restaurant expects to get away with serving meals on a cold plate !!! Condiments were brought to you prior to your meal the only thing that let this place down I thought was the fact for such a really nice restaurant to provide you with paper knapkins is a no no. Although the quality of the paper napkins were not water thin. But then that’s personal preference!!! The meals that were presented were very nice and the quantity on the plate was ample for the price you paid. Which I thought for what I got and from what I had seen on other people’s plates was a fair price to pay. (I have put a picture of the menu to prove it :0). There are nine vegetarian meals. But I did ask if you asked at the bar for slight amendment on the other meals they provided that was not a problem. The chefs are more than willing to adjust the menu accordingly. !!! Bonus !!! As I have a veggy head friend and he some times struggles to choose a meal. If you like your burgers this is the place to go!!! The size of the king burger made the Eiffel Tower look small !!! The guy I was with could eat for Britain but even he left half of his !!! I had the Cajun sizzler which was absolutely fantastic and the bonus part of that meal was there was loads of chicken on the hot plate plus the wraps were huge. We also had the chicken bites as a bit of a side dish. They would have been nicer still as a main meal !!!! Real spicy but not too spicy just a nice balance and then as a main meal throw in a few fries and hey presto :0) it was the type of snack you could quite easily eat more of and then more again :0). In all a very nice pub well done to the front staff and to the chefs for making the stop off a pleasant one. It is not very often I give a restaurant a five star rating :0) I have been told it’s better than the British kite mark :0). But definitely recommend a visit to family and friends and will definitely with out a doubt be going back there again. Again well done to all. !!!

Asked for a cider. Was told dark fruits or some other weird kind. We said no, just normal apple cider. Was told we don't sell apple cider. So I pointed at the bulmers cider and said that one. Barman said that's just regular cider, it's not apple flavoured. Bailey's coffee I ordered took 20 minutes to come as we could see all the bar staff debating how it was made. In the end we got an Americano with Bailey's poured in and no cream. If you are just ordering beer you will probably be ok.

Called in on Sunday afternoon, the pub was buzzing, recently been taken over, friendly staff! Lovely pub, just had a drink but we only live local and can’t wait to come and try the Sunday roast!

Visited for lunch to meet family as it’s halfway between Preston and Stoke on Trent. Impressed by the refurbishment ( though the ladies loos were in need of a good dusting and tidy up). Staff were helpful re dairy-free options on the menu. It was a bonus to find that it was “2 for 1” on mains on a Monday lunchtime!

Simply put. Friday night is back to kids night. The kids free area has kids in it belonging to regulars so apparently they are exempt from the rules. The restaurant section were kids are allowed had kids screaming and running around standing on furniture whilst parking nets happily ignore them and sup away at their drinks. The Crown used to be like this all the time. The landlady has recently left and it seems no one else will challenge the behaviour for fear of upsetting the clientele. What is the point of having a kid free zone if ‘some kids’ are ok? And why would anyone want to have a drink while let alone eat with someone else’s kids running past you screaming. I really hope this gets sorted out or it’s a slippery slope back to a Friday night crèche.

Lovely pub, great food, good choice for a vegetarian. Welcoming staff and atmosphere. Worked our way through the 5 ales.

We took a party of 29 for lunch. The commincations regarding pre ordered food beforehand was very good. On arrival they recorded who was sitting at which table so the food went directly to the person who had ordered it and everyone on that table was served at the same time....great attention to detail. It was all served promptly and asking around everyone seemed happy with the food.

I visited The Crown with my wife on 28th July for a meal and we received a very warm welcome from the staff. We were pleasantly surprised how good our meals were and the service throughout the evening could not have been better. They sell Lees Manchester Craft Lager which is one of the nicest beers that I have ever tasted. We will definitely be going back soon!

Pre dinner drinks for 4 + a trio of generously portioned nibbles (£11). We had these outside in the sun - some tables with umbrellas. Good selection of gin nicely served in balloon glasses with lots of ice + lemon & lime slices. Good start!

We visited with a large group of friends and were made to feel very welcome - all of the food ordered was excellent and the pub quiz -although challenging - was great fun. Will definitely visit again.

We recently visited The Crown with a number of friends. We had a very warm welcome and the staff were all very friendly. A good selection of dishes including V & VG. All our meals arrived in good time and were all excellent. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The Crown is our local. We go two or three times a month as it's very close to home. They have great menu of pub favourites. We have found it to be great value for money, the quality is consistently good and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Popped in for late tea on Sunday and although the kitchen had run out of quite a few dishes, probably due to very busy Sunday lunch, we had a great meal, the belly pork was particularly good. Staff were very friendly and efficient and took the time to discuss recent menu changes and upcoming promotions. We will definitely visit again when we’re back in the area.

We visited a few pubs in lymm on Saturday, the crown had the worst beer and the worst atmosphere. Nobody eating. It’s only good to watch football.

The service was excellent from start to finish, the food was of a very high standard, this was further to our visit 12 months ago when it was not very good, but we would try again glad we did.

Since the refit a while back this pub has gone from strength to strength. Good beer. Decent wine. A choice of food for a family including meat eaters, a pescatarian, a vegetarian, and a vegan (which is never easy to find!), great staff and a friendly landlady. The Crown has had it's ups and downs but is currently riding the crest of a wave.

Visited the crown to celebrate my daughters SATS results (her choice of venue) the staff were brilliant. My daughter ate every bit of the steak she ordered and I had the slow cooked pork belly in cider, I have got to say that it was lovely and is the nicest meals I’ve have eaten in a long time

The food was okay, it was cold when it arrived at our table and as we were a large party, some of the food was delayed. The menu looked good, but the food standard was quite low.

I always come to this pub on my lunch with my friends. The staff and manager are really lovely, really polite and give great service. The new food menu is delicious, especially the thick hand cut chips, they are my favourite!!

We have been eating in and around Lymm for decades and weirdly have never eaten/drunk at The Crown. It's just that little bit out of town, on the main road through Lymm. So - fed up with going to the usual places we gave it a shot and so glad we did - in spades! There is apparently a 'new' menu. Well we never sampled the old one, but I am gluten intolerant. Gluten-free pigs in blankets? Hello!!! And delicious - ditto, the gluten-free raspberry frangipane dessert. Gorgeous. Fresh salad with everything, lovely food, great service (thanks, Sarah, our waiter). From my mum of 90 to my son of 27, with all possible dietary requirements, we had a feast. Honestly, it was fantastic. Really delicious. Give it a go, you won't regret it. Oh and good price too! With Lee's craft beers. What more do you want?

Being a resident of Lymm for over 20 years we've seen some changed at The Crown.

I live in Lymm and out of all the pubs this one is by far my favourite. All the staff are so friendly and chatty and really make you feel welcome. Particularly, Dave, Kyle & Laura!

My family and I visited the earlier this week and I have to say I’m liking he new menu... the pork belly was tasty... and I can be picky with my pork! Would like to know there glaze?? The service was great too my kids can get irritable at times when sat for long at the table but the lady, sarah was great with them and she was a pleasure serving us all night! Literally the woman doesn’t stop... my wife asked her that question and she likes to keep busy! All staff weee great too all in all. Hats off to the chef! Finished off with salted carame cake!! Bloody lovely! Definitely recommend the place to any family.

New menu in the restaurant food is lovely and David served us was really helpful advising what to order.

I have to say our visit to The Crown was exceptional, the food was spot on and service second to none. We were looked after by David who couldn’t have done enough for us, we will certainly be back again!! I would certainly recommend the Seabass

Me and my husband had traveled from Yorkshire with our touring caravan. Called into The Crown to discover we could bring our tourer onto the car park, what started off as a quick lunch ended up two days with beautiful meals served by kind and friendly staff, lots of different gins offered. We will certainly recommend this place to friends, & will be calling back again next time in Cheshire first class place & service.

I don't usually write on pages like these, but I felt the need to compliment the staff at The Crown, Lymm, for making my husbands day so wonderful. The place is wonderful from top to bottom. We came for a drink a couple of weeks ago and decided to book for Fathers Day.

Nipped in for a quick snack today , was greeted by Karen with a smile , very friendly . Our baguettes were quickly delivered with chips and crisp salad just what we needed .can't wait to try her new main menu as this looks good !

I went into The Crown for lunch today to be welcomed by the lovely manager, Karen. Our would diffiantly go back, food,drink and service was lovely. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

A party of 8 of us had Christmas Day lunch booked in December 2017. We were not disappointed. It was perfect from start to finish, from pre-booking food and drink to how special staff made us feel on Christmas Day. All the food was amazing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and we would highly recommend. We will definitely be booking again this year and popping in for lunch/dinner throughout the year.

Very good pub with good food menu. The ice cream Sunday’s are delicious!

It's been a while since visiting The Crown but were pleasantly surprised at the new decor and the Sunday lunch for a family of 6 plus child was excellent. The roast potatoes were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle couldn't fault anything. We will be returning soon.

Food is lovely and the service very hospitable. Even put up with my bad jokes. The menu is really broad and there are some lovely ales to choose from.

Been in the Crown for tea with my husband, son and grandson. The food was very good. I had the chilli, husband and son had gammon and grandson had children's chicken and chips. We asked for cucumber with it instead of beans which he got.

It's really difficult to fault the crown, I simply cannot champion this little gem enough.

I have visited the crown a few times in the past and always loved it, i came here with my partner a few weeks ago and i was massively disappointed. No seasoning on anything, presentation had dropped and it wasn’t great!

My first visit to the Crown Inn at Lymm was today for Christmas Lunch with my sister-in-law and her husband. The food was excellent, well cooked and presented. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The meal was good value for money and we had a lovely afternoon. The restaurant has recently been renovated and I would certainly recommend the food and venue. We will definitely revisit in the future.

Dropped in for quick lunch - black pudding on rosti with mushroom sauce was really delicious. Although listed as a starter with the bowl of chips ( shared between 2 ) it made a good lunch. Tasteful refurbishment makes it a good local. Lovely real fire.

Came for a sunday dinner, food is nice, staff are pleasant, atmosphere great. However, i feel the way it was presented was lazy. Sunday dinners would be more enjoyed when plated up individually. The “buffet” style may appeal to others, I felt it was just used as an easy way to not have to plate up each dish
