Great flavour street food, like being down Camdon. Had the loaded fries, picked the hot fries but had without jalapeños as I didn't want it to be all I tasted (my choice), was a mix of fries and sweet potatoe fries with crispy chicken and a siracha sauce and mayo, OMG flavour explosion, amazing. Normally have the push it fries - fries, crispy chicken, onions, peppers with a salt n chilli spice also amazing but loving the Hot!

Today we booked again as before we had three great breakfast and 2 perfect evening meals with friends we decided to bring our friends who were staying from Wales to celebrate 2 birthdays. We decide on the Swan as no one wanted Sunday dinner and I knew the menu was fabulous after our previous visits! So table booked, tick - easy. Turned up, greeted tick then we were given the menu - very limited....no pies, no variety and no specials. To say disappointed would be an understatement. I championed the Swan and now I'm eating my words. Don't go the way the last managers of Swan went - crappy meals, small protions and no variety!! Disappointed

We have visited a few times before new management took over and was little disappointed at the time there were no meals served. However new management has taken over and the makeover has done wonders. Staff I very friendly and Bryce stands out. He e had a family meal the other night as they now serve food again. And compliments to Russia for excellent food. Jalapeño loaded fries is a winner# Well done!

Visited here a couple of times nowin the last month. Once to pop in for a drink in an afternoon which with the weather being nice. Sat and enjoyed the drink in the garden with no issues and staff were friendly. We came back on a Friday evening to enjoy the karaoke they had advertised when we initially visited. However did not enjoy the time we spent there. The karaoke man gave the mic to anyone who went up at the time so you could not sing a song alone and ended up with someone just continuously on the mic. You would put a song in and rather than it being even spread across anyone trying to do more than one song it was based on the order wrote down so you had people on the mic for 5 or 6 songs in a continuous row and other people who didn't get a chance as they had obviously wrote all their songs down in one go. Have to say I will not be returning for the karaoke evenings

We were booked to come on the 4th January and I admit I did not expect a lot as I have not been in many many years. All I can say is how wrong I was and I apologise for that stigma! The 2 ladies serving were very good (I believe they were called Lauren and Jess from listening to my daughter ask). They were welcoming and warm and great with service. There was a small niggle but it was nothing, and the fact they sorted it quickly and were adamant (which was nice) was even better. Both ladies were quite happy to chat to my daughters and indulged my eldest becoming a budding photographer. Their knowledge on the menu was good - they were able to offer my partner a meal (who is vegan) and my food was phenomenal - it felt like a proper home cooked Cajun chicken meal - very pleased I took the recommendation! Ultimately, I cant recommend highly enough and the value for money is definitely there based on the size of the meals. Staff were great (and thank you to the chef for the straws for a tired little one) and the food was brilliant. Definitely come back again. Thank you

I visited with my 2 children when we arrived the bar lady told me to tell my children to be quiet , all they were doing was singing their favourite song(not even shouting) i said they are not even being loud She replied i know what your children are like. not sure what was meant by this as i had never been there before. When we ordered food i asked for the burger to be plain as they dont like all the fillings. The burgers arrived stacked with all the fillings which the kids would not eat so i complained as had already paid for the food. The waitress then snatched the plates off my children and scrapped all the stuff off the burgers. awful place to visit would never go again.

We visited last night for drinks and had invited quite a few friends prior to the new lockdown rules and 10pm closing time. Most of us sat in the restaurant area on separate tables because of the rules. The restaurant area is cosy and accommodating. I have to say the staff at this pub worked exceptionally hard, and our party all had a thoroughly great night out. Service was quick and efficient and delivered with a smile. A big thank you to the crown for working so hard during these difficult times 😊

This pub is not too far from home so we used to go occasionally for some decent pie and a couple of drinks. We’ve had dinner there twice since it was renovated and the food was good, and the new restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Staff were always friendly, even if the people drinking at the bar seemed a little out of hand.Four times throughout the last year we have gone in for a meal and they were not serving food during peak meal times, using different excuses as to why - mostly that they had no cook. Can’t figure out why they would spend so much money on a renovation when you can pick four random nights in a year and every time they won’t serve food. We probably won’t be coming back, there are other pubs that are more dependable.

The Crown Inn was previously just a bog standard pub which also served meals. The environment was quite dated. Since the refurbishment and under new management, the place has taken on a whole new look. The bar is separate from the dining area which means that you can enjoy a meal in peace. The decor and background music are perfect and because the music is not too loud we were able to hear each other speak. Menu is good and fairly priced. New chef is excellent and food is prepared fresh. The manager and serving staff are very friendly and welcoming, and they ensure you are enjoying your meal. Have been there several times now and never been disappointed. Definitely on our list of places to eat.

A group of us booked for Sunday Lunch at the Crown. Overall, the six of us enjoyed our meals. However, from the start we could tell that everything wasn't as it should be. The car park is of a decent size but I idly noted in passing that the white lines for parking bays had not been given a lick of paint for a long, long time. A minor matter really, but indicative as it turned out. Inside, the place needs a makeover - despite the extended dining area and windows over the beer garden to the rear, it's a bit dim, worn and dated. First impression, I have to admit, was not all that welcoming. It was also telling that the place was very quiet when we got there shortly before 12:15pm. Sunday lunchtime?! I was expecting us to have had to squeeze past a throng of customers to get to the bar and our reserved table. But no, it was virtually empty. Indeed, if memory serves me well, only one other group came to dine while we were there - enjoying a bit of a birthday celebration, complete with birthday cake. There may have been another couple of drinkers. At the bar I was greeted by the current and usual suspects on pump: Abbot and Tribute (I think the Doombar was off) so opted for the East Coast IPA as a bit of a change. Frankly, I am getting rather bored with the prevalence of these particular 'real ales'. Yes, it's an improvement over John Smith's and Tetley's and such, but it would be nice to see a proper 'guest' at many of the pubs where these modern stalwarts seem to reign. Having ordered drinks for three out of the four of us there, present, I discovered that my wife was consulting the wine menu. The chap at the bar kindly said not to worry - we could just add the drinks to the table tab rather than wait to sort out payment of the full order at the bar. We then hit our first hitch: there was only one bottle of the Sauv Blanc in the pub and that was already open. My wife was not happy - a wine menu that is not properly stocked is not good, particularly if you expect to work through a couple of bottles together over a leisurely lunch. I jokingly suggested that a deal could have been done over the opened bottle but it was interesting that we were told the barman couldn't vouch for freshness of the contents! My wife opted for the rose instead. I know that when my wife booked our table she did confirm that there was a range of gluten free menu options available. However, based on conversation with the young lady who was serving us at the table, it seemed that the choice was now more limited. Another source of irritation for my coeliac wife! Fortunately, she was able to order the three roast dinner and enjoyed it, although the quantity did eventually defeat her. Browsing the menu otherwise, I was suitably impressed with the variety, including the South African slant. Though tempted by several items, I opted for the interestingly named Chicken Bunny Chow once I discovered that it was essentially a curry served inside a hollowed out half loaf! Apart from the bread overload (it comes with more bread!) I really enjoyed it - very tasty. Two of us ordered Camembert starters. This should come with a health warning (or at least more description) because it is a whole roundel of oven baked cheese with a generous portion of bread wedges. In truth, I believe the two of us could have shared the one portion quite comfortably, thus possibly leaving us room to enjoy a dessert. We did meet and chat to the manageress, Vanya, who is responsible for the South African touch. Whilst not going into detail, she did go some way toward explaining the situation to us. She said it was their last day - they were leaving (and it sounded final). It seems that we had chosen to book the last Sunday they would be serving lunch. I assume they were also running down the wine stocks too! Would we have still booked if we had known? Hard to say, but with the challenge of finding a mutually convenient venue that serves decent gluten free menu options, it's just possible. Under the circumstances the event could have been a complete let-down but merely flirted with such a fate. As I said, overall we had an enjoyable meal. At least the kitchen team weren't rushed off their feet serving to a larger number of tables, so our orders were quickly served! The staff were all friendly and helpful but the atmosphere was kind of flat (apart from the small birthday party and our own group of course) and a bit strange. I don't know if the pub is actually closing or just ceasing the food - maybe we should have asked. It's a real pity because the pub is in a nice location and, given some extra TLC, could be a thriving establishment. What/why has it not worked out? I see that the new menu was launched in early August of this year. I thought it imaginative, well-presented and reasonably priced. For those who have been willing to give it a try I think it will be a loss if this is, indeed, the end of a rather short era that showed promise. This is the second eating establishment we have discovered and enjoyed in the Bromsgrove area in recent years, only to see it teetering on the brink. Is competition around here really so fierce? I hope that someone can give the Crown a new lease of life. This should be a 4 or 5 star pub.

My husband enjoyed the halloumi dish so the food is alright and cooked nicely. The lady chef is really nice and friendly, keen to please. My only gripe is that it's a bit noisy for a food pub, full of young adults should we say and the landlord is lovely but overbearing and a bit intimidating, think it's just because he's loud and tall, he can't help that. It's fine if you like that but I like to be treated pleasantly and then left alone to eat my food.

Had not been to the Crown for many, many years and had quite good memories of the place, however when we went yesterday we were all very disappointed. The place looked drab, there was a HUGE patch of ripped wallpaper on one of the walls, table was sticky. TV blared away + music blared away. Outside there were lots of overgrown bushes and brambles which gave the place a neglected feel.Food menu limited - no vegetarian choice other than a jacket potato with cheese. One of the party was having scampi and asked if it was possible to a jacket potato with their meal rather than chips - response "NO" - which you have to question as they had jacket potato on the menu.Food however did arrive hot - surprized that the "chips" were in fact "French fries".Suppose you get what you pay for - 2 main meals for £10.Won't be going back

Walking the canal, from Tardebrigge and stopped here for lunch based on how pretty it looked rather than the Weighbridge down the canal. What a mistake. Told only bagguettes available and therefore we went with them. I had chicken tikka, average at best. Wife had prawns which were simply just water. Obviously frozen, no taste, no substance or seasoning. Cheap frozen prawns from goodness knows where. The bagguettes also obviously previously frozen and we left quite a lot. Frozen chips were ok. Not sure how the other pub would have faired but this was dismal. Avoid.

Came to get food today and got told at 1850 that food service had stopped although the chef was still in there cooking which we was told about 5 seconds before being told no more food, so shutting up the kitchen before 7pm on a Friday night isn't exacly the best.. Sat here at half 7 and we can hear the chef still cooking.. It's a shame because we really rated this place but not anymore...

Needed a dog friendly pub and found this one. Welcomed our dog even though it was muddy, almost more than the humans!Value for money food, freshly cooked. High chairs available. Quiet at lunchtime when we visited but friendly staff. Look forward to anticipated refurbishment

We popped in for a quick pint and decided to stay for evening meal, we had Tandoori chicken strips and salad which was lovely to start but I think it would of been enough for a main for us. Then we had the codfather which was lovely to beer a bit pricey but it is kept well. we will go back as the landlord is really friendly and all the staff too.

Used to be regular diners here.....until....change of hands maybe? It's dreadfully filthy, no organisation, dreadful food. Shame, it was excellent.

Have been to the Crown a few times now and we can only say it seems to be improving with every visit, they have recently changed their menu, really good selection of meals, good service etc. Steaks are first class and they always serve a good pint.

Stunned this wasn't on TA! We've been to eat a few times and never had a bad, or even mediocre, experience. The menu changes regularly as do the guest beers. I've been for lunch and had fajitas, for Sunday lunch and had a wide choice of varied roasts, burgers, jacket potatoes... the 18" hotdog defeated our teenager even though she was "like, literally, starving!"

First time visit to Duck ponds cafe after a trail walk around the amazing lickey hills. Stopped for a cup of tea before heading off home, Paid £3.60 for dish water I could not drink it had to throw it away. Don’t bother visiting after a walk I don’t normally put comments on social media but I hate wasting hard earned cash

After a long journey to Alvechurch Marina we were pleasantly surprised to find a pub on the doorstep before setting off on a weeks cruise on The Birmingham & Worcester Canal. We were more than disappointed to find no food available on a Saturday evening and to compound our woes a canal side pub that doesn’t allow dogs, What is that all about? Anyway we ventured into the village and found a lovely meal, superb beer, hospitality and a welcome for the hound. As for The Weighbridge NO.

Ordered via Uber eats & after 2 hours still hadn’t arrived. Called to get a refund and had the phone put down on me. Rude staff, no breakfast & still waiting for my £20 refund

The Sunday roast beef lunch was so small we thought it was a child's portion. 3 very small paper thin slices of bought in slice beef from the supermarket if it weighted 3oz you would be lucky. The plate arrived with Yorkshire pudding hiding the slices with the gravey on it but we then waited for the veg by which time all had gone cold. This was a complete Faulty tower. You couldn't make it up. Will certainly not be going back. And £18 for a cheap bottle of wine. NOT A PLACE TO VISIT.

We have been using this venue for ages and it never fails to please. Some time since our last visit and now under different management but good and service were as good as ever. We understand that hospitality is suffering and the menu now offers a reduced choice but no real problem. The only criticism is that the dining room was so cold! Several diners wore their overcoats throughout. We will return in warmer weather. Otherwise five star.
