The Crown Hotel Bar & Grill in New Forest

We received a welcome with which we were very pleased as we haven't been there for a few years as have moved, etc and the Manager, Andrew, recognised us at once and remembered our name. We enjoyed a scrumptious meal, cooked to our liking and served by friendly staff. Still well impressed and we will be going back there very soon.

Brilliant place. I don't stop by oftwrn but qhen I do its always a present environment and friendly service.

I didn't eat so can't comment on the food however my pint of moretti was one of the best I've had for a long long time. A pint too good not to capture. A well conditioned glass ready for the pint in a beautiful setting. Really nice referb. One of my favorite places to come on the very odd occasion I have a drink in lyndhurst.

Cold room, food grim. Ordered a burger. Arrived rare. Sent back. 30 minutes later, arrived cremated and inedible.

and my wife stayed to escape the Christmas madness and it didn't disappoint. From the moment we arrived we loved the stay with all staff being excellent, especially the bar tender who was on Friday evening. The room we had (105) was clean very well decorated and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was included in the price and was lovely with continental and fully English options. All in all a lovely place to stay and will be going back.

Great hotel with lots of character

We had an excellent time there . My partner and I went there for a high tea, and fizz both enjoyed it, and the staff were excellent as well. Sally has had high teas before and said it was one of the best !

My wife and I stayed for one night whilst attending a show at Beaulieu. On arrival, the hotel blew us away. Car park entrance was easy to find and is obviously old. Car park is split on 2 levels and can fill up quickly. The front entrance into the reception area is beautiful with a library to one side. Booking in was quick, polite, and friendly. The bedroom was clean and functional although a little small ( but then it is called the snug) clean bath/shower with complimentary soaps/shampoo, etc, and a soft bed. The decor is tastefully done and keeps with the age and character of the building and is in good clean repair. After an afternoon in Lyndhurst (which is only a short walk from the hotel although there are some steep steps to navigate) we took advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktail deal in the bar which again were served by friendly and polite staff. We decided to have an evening meal in the hotel restaurant and on first impression was a warm welcoming area. We were seated swiftly, and it's from then on the night became problematic. Seated quickly, check. menu given, check. water offered, check. water delivered and order taken quick and efficiently, check and then.....forgot about. Bottle of wine ordered and eventually arrived halfway through my starters. The service was ok during our sitting but nothing special I feel for the price. My main meal was overcooked and was mentioned as our plates were collected by the manager who made no comment as he walked away examining the meat left on the plate. Towards the end of the evening, the room lighting can be a problem to read the menu (a couple resorted to using their phone light to be able to read it). On the whole, the restaurant experience was a letdown and over priced. Nearly £150 for a meal for two!!! but was helped at the end by Fay, who couldn't do enough for us, serving us coffee in the garden. Would we stay here again....possibly but I think we would make alternative arrangements for food

So far I've found this a great hotel.

Quirky and atmospheric hotel. Loved the creaky old lift. Food was very good and the breakfast room was light and airy. Clean and comfortable rooms.

Great hotel and location ,friendly staff made our stay memorable, check in was pretty easy on arrival, our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, only downside was the walls between the neighbouring rooms are quite thin so we heard every word coming from the couple next door to our room 207 just a polite notice from me is that the hotel should make guests aware or put a polite notice in the rooms for other guests to respect others that are trying to sleep. Breakfast was just fantastic too On a positive note yes we will return

Lovely Hotel good value for money

Stayed over for a night over the Christmas period and the place was very nice, old style but modern enough, staff were very friendly and courteous, everything was very clean and buffet breakfast was plentiful and had a 2id3 range, had a couple of drinks in the bar which was reasonable. Very nice hotel to try out in a nice area 9 1/2 out of 10

We have now Stayed at the Crown Hotel Several times but never Disappointed as the Rooms, Service & Staff especially Attila & Leanne couldn't do enough throughout our stay...Will be definitely coming back next year🙂👍

Really enjoyed staying here, I was apprehensive over the perceived crampness of the bathroom but actually found it to be fine with no awkwardness. Food was absolutely amazing, will definitely be staying again when next down this way with work.

Only went in for a few drinks whilst we stayed in Lyndhurst. Very nice bar area, with a wide range of drinks. Cocktail menu is small but a perfect range to suite all. Seems like a lovely place to stay and what we saw of the meals, they looked very tasty. Bar staff are very friendly and helpful. Look out for the happy hour.

Good pub with a great beer selection. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Steeped in history and a great variety of entertainment on selected nights.

Nice hotel but they have Internet offers that they do not offer to everyone. We booked 6 months in advance but was not offered the deal we could have had if we had booked just a few weeks ago. They would not change our booking to get the better option. Very disappointed.
