Great ambience with real fire and décor based on an old "Flowers" pub . Food genuinely home-made, well-cooked and well-presented. Staff attentive, chatty and good-humoured. Prices exceptionally reasonable for a Cotswold tourist village.

Recently spent a week in the Cotswolds on a friends reunion. We visited many pubs in the area and were often disappointed. Most pubs have become cheaply made over restaurants. Not the Crown and Trumpet. It’s a proper pub retaining all its olde world charm and character. It does sell food but hasn’t forgotten it’s a pub and as a result was full of jovial folk enjoying a pint. Great selection of beers. The best pub we visited by far, a truly joyful experience

Poor service. I went to this pub on my own for a snack and a drink. When I entered the pub, I asked a male who cleaning cutlery if I could sit anywhere, he just said ‘mmm’ so I sat near the bar. The lady who served me my first drink was lovely, I then sat back in my chair and perused the menu, I stood up back at the bar to order but found myself waiting for about 5 minutes while the bar ‘person’ continued to eat his food, I assumed that he wasn’t on duty as he was completely ignorant to the fact that I was there (although he did turn and saw me), he eventually came over and said ‘yeh’ 🤷🏻♀️so I said ‘I would like to order some food’, he then became extremely distracted and stood by the till and gazed into space for a while, I was expecting him to say ‘we’re not serving food at this time (it was 2.30pm) but I will ask the chef’ that was the sort of look he had but, he then came over to me and said ‘yeh, can I get you something?’ again I said’I would like to order some food please’…. ‘What is it you want?’ I’m kicking myself I didn’t walk out at this point but, I was really hungry so decided to stick to my guns… I ordered another drink while I had his attention and the snack soon arrived..breaded mushrooms with ranch and a salad garnish..not much could go wrong really with that and I did enjoy it along with my pint of Hawkstone draught cider which was delicious 😋 Just to add, another customer had said previously‘don’t mind me, you finish your food!’ I don’t live in Broadway and was on holiday there but, it makes no difference if you’re a local or on holiday, the colour of money is the same and as the hospitality industry is literally on its backside, I feel that if you really dislike your job in hospitality (operative word being hospitable) then, just don’t bother! I will return the lovely Broadway again but I definitely will not return to this pub.

We went two days on the trot as the food, beers and service the first day were excellent. Pub is dog friendly with outdoor tables, we sat inside. Good selection of excellent homemade food fro local sources, the minced beef put was superb and so was the beef in Guinness pie. Timothy Taylors beers as well!

The food we had was tasty and decent value. There were issues though. There were three starters listed on the menu, but only one as available. We went on a Sunday and lamb roast was advertised, but apparently hasn't been offered here for quite some time. It was also strange that there was an extra charge of £3.50 for a Yorkshire pudding to go with a roast pork dinner, however it was included in the roast beef dinner. The member of staff who served us was apologetic and it was quite apparent that the menu issues were quite a normal occurrence. The pub is in a lovely setting by the church just off the main drag in Broadway. With just a little more attention to detail, it could be so much better. No establishment should ever run out of soup. It's quite OK to have pre-packed bought in soup as a back-up option in my opinion rather than to have none at all. I've scored 4 as what we had was good, but service wise, it was no more than a 3 based on food availability on the day.

Traditional country pub, I visited here early evening, 6pm having booked a few days early. When arrived we were expected, pub was quiet at this time in the evening. Ordered some drinks at the bar, was asked if I would like to set up a tab but couldn’t as I didn’t have a physical credit card (I use my phone for everything), no problem paid and took my seat at the table. Ordered sharing starter (breaded prawns with chilli dip to share), have to say they were lovely. Main course was fish&chips x2 . Served really quickly, fairly small portion and a bit skimpy on the chips, I counted 13 on my plate but more than enough mushy peas to fill the plate. What I found odd was half way through the meal, I was presented with the bill and asked to pay while eating my main. Ordered extra drinks and paid again during meal. I’m sure if they have had issues with ‘runners’ then i understand but this felt odd and detracted from the evening. Surely there is a more customer focussed approach? Real pity as it’s a lovely pub in a lovely location. It was an evening with my 16yo daughter.

Ordered food in there and it was so so . Main was fish and uncooked chips . The desserts were apple crumble and custard and we had to ask if there was any crumble and the bar person said that it was on the plate . She did admit that she was embarrassed to serve it . It was no where to be seen and was a disgrace to be called apple crumble when it was just a pureé. Apparently the cook wasn’t there so the owner made it …badly . The pub was over run by barking dogs and on one Count there were 11 dogs in there , We would have gone elsewhere but the choice was very limited .

What an unwelcoming and unpleasant place to visit if you're not a 'local'. A venue that seemingly doesn't value the tourist trade that puts more revenue into it than the 'locals' do. What an irony! They even put plaques on tables saying 'locals only'. I'm a very very well travelled man, but never have I come across that nonsense before. Imagine these people on travels of their own being told they're not 'local, you can't sit there'! Worse still, there was openly Sexist, bigoted and homophonic commentary from the men behind the bar, this place could be well suited as a bar in the movie Deliverance. I had lager and it tasted of cleaning chemicals. I went to the toilet and could see through to the back which looked uncared for and dirty. There are much much better and nicer places on the Main Street, don't go here, they don't deserve your tourist money.

Went for Sunday dinner and I have to say it was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The food came out and it looked like a school dinner. I wish I had taken a picture… the gravy was like water. Even the customers sat next to us we’re all commenting on how bad the food looked. The fact that the waitress said it made her cooking look good was the nail in the coffin. Sadly will not be going back. Steer well clear if you’re looking for somewhere to eat.

Tbh - worst Sunday roast we have ever seen - looked like a very poor school meal. My regret is not sending it straight back , my son ate the school dinner turkey & left the rest. The waitress even agreed that this dinner made her cooking look good! Don’t waste your money. Fish & Chips - fish was bland. Steak pie & chips - was ok Fish Pie - was ok Ruined our Xmas eve meal out! Have eaten here a good few times, unfortunately today will be our last visit.

We had the fish and chips. Chips were good but fish was bland and needed sauce. We tried getting service once sitting down, and had zero luck. So we ate and drank what we could and left. Called in here for a drink and a bite to eat whilst on a visit to Broadway. It's a very traditional English pub with a good selection of beers and a fairly basic pub type menu which quite frankly is right up my street. The food is very reasonably priced ( in my opinion) and we had faggots chips and peas, lasagne and garlic bread and my wife had sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and ice cream. Everything was hot and freshly cooked and the beer excellent and obviously very well kept. Sadly we no longer have a dog but this place is extremely dog friendly and the staff were really pleasant and hard working. As it was a warm day we took the opportunity to sit outside with a drink and shock horror 😱😱😱😱 there were ashtrays on the tables for the lepers amongst us which is rapidly becoming a very rare sight. Cue no doubt plenty of comments telling me how inconsiderate we are etc etc but hey knock yourselves out. Would not hesitate to call in here for food or drink again ( and a cigarette)

Do not stay here. This place was HORRIBLE! On entering the pub, the room felt dirty and old. The carpet everywhere, including our room was more than filthy, looked to be 40 years old. The floors feel like they will collapse, have big dips in them and are at a terrible slant. Room 2 is tiny, the bathroom while clean, was totally inadequate. I couldn’t even take a shower, the water was either scalding or freezing, no in between. One again the tiny floor in the bath was old and disgusting. The pub does good business, but you could not have paid me to eat there. There is no parking, you have to park several blocks away, parking is free after 6. The worst place we have ever stayed.

Service was rushed, food average and staff friendly. To be fair after all that has happened in the last 20 months it is great to see that these places are still operating. However that said the level of expectation was set when we arrived at...

We decided as a one off to pop into Broadway and the Crown and Trumpet before visiting friends in Evesham. Great decision because the both the village and the pub looked glorious on a lovely fresh evening. We had a generous welcome from Andrew, the landlord, and had an excellent pint of Cotswold brewery beer. Obviously well kept and much appreciated. Not all pubs keep their beers to the high standard that Andrew obviously manages! All in all a thoroughly pleasant visit and will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended to all!

I organised a group trip to visit various real ale pubs in the Cotswolds and we chose the Crown & Trumpet in Broadway as one of our destinations. This pub did not disappoint. The staff were all very friendly and professional, the cask ale was excellent and the food tasty and good value for money. All in all, we had a great time and thanks must go to Andrew and his team for making us feel so welcome. Needless to say we will be going back again and if you are in the area, this hostelry is well worth a visit.

When my husband & I drove through the village heading home & saw the beautiful lights. We knew exactly where to go for a warm welcome, a well kept ale & classic pub experience the Crown & Trumpet.A fine example of an English pub in all seasons, Festive Ales or Summer ciders this pub delivers. Quaint on the outside quirky on the inside. Had a lovely welcome from bar staff & Andrew the owner. He knows his stuff about Ales & able to help you make an informed choice for a drink. Packed with punters who looked cosy, so nice to join them on a crisp November evening. We knew we'd made the right discision.

The pub has lost its spark. The Pint of Landlord was sweet, not good.A table saying locals only - so alienated. Staff perfunctory with no welcome or smile. A real shame that this iconic pub has gone down hill.

Despite arriving without a reservation at what is clearly a popular pub we were welcomed as though we were regulars and seated at a lovely table by the fire. We didn't think that proper traditional pubs like this still existed so we were delighted to find it. There is a varied menu to cater for all tastes and the staff could not be more friendly. The owner, in particular, was chatting to diners and was a mine of information. It's lovely to discover these individual gems amongst the uniformity of the larger chains.

As a frequent solo diner around all of the Cotswolds, I have frequented many local eateries and have previously stayed at the Crown. Last night I thought I would indulge myself by dining there. I had two starters rather than one main. The service was excellent, the team were friendly and attentive and the food was 1st class!! Thank you Reece, you really are a top chef, funds permitting I may come back again tonight !!

We meet our friends here on Sunday 7th of July 2024 for a traditional Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed. The service from the team was fantastic and the food was great. I had a beef roast which can be hit and miss wherever you go, and it was cooked to perfection. Nice dollop of gravy and Puds were lovely. Well presented food.

Really disappointed with the Father Christmas experience… please don’t spend your hard earned money on this, we felt so underwhelmed and just glad our daughter is young so she didn’t notice how poor it was. Paid £45.50 for 2 adults and 1 child. The elves didn’t have a script, Father Christmas wasn’t very enthusiastic and sat at the front of the barn reading out names and what the children would like… but it wasn’t very clear and all seemed as though they didn’t know what they were doing. Had a 1 second photo with Father Christmas and then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for a bag of sweets… the toy shop is a good idea. 1 toy per child… however for the price of the experience and a £6 toy. The figures don’t add up. You can make reindeer food, and effort has gone into creating the set. Really sorry but we won’t be back. Wouldn’t recommend with children older than 3.
