If you like your coke chopped and sniffed rather than in a glass then it’s ok. Frequented by every low life in the area with regular late night fights outside. Was ok when it first opened but now no decent people go

Went for Sunday lunch. Two beef and one chicken. Beef was absolutely gorgeous. Veg well cooked and yummy Yorkshire puddings. Can't ask for any more. Will be back 😊

Fuimos para el té con mi esposo e hijas. La comida llegó en un momento oportuno y muy sabroso. No podía creer cuántas fichas las chicas dieron con sus comidas. Precioso pintas de terciopelo negro. Volveremos 😊

La corona y el Thistle es un muy bien llevado con comida de pub local precioso a un precio muy bueno. Fuimos como una familia para una cena encantadora en sábado y luego de nuevo para un menú para el almuerzo del domingo. Muy acogedor y servicial. Como vegetariano no había mucho en el menú para mí, pero el chef encantador era muy susceptible a hacer algo sólo para mí. Tuvimos una visita muy agradable y lo recomiendo altamente.

Surely it shouldn't be difficult to turn out a good beef burger! Well charred on Saturday but previous time was first class. Similar experience with fish and chips so don't order them now. Very disappointed

I've been a couple of times as its a five minute walk from where I live. Firstly, the was it has been renovated is fantastic! It's lovely inside, very modern. It is however quite small. The food when it first opened was a bit mediocre but there has definitely been an improvement since.

Nice food good service, unusual furniture. very big portions we had Sunday lunch and a reasonable selection. was on offer! car park is small but street parking is fine here. Beer is great and the food is even better. recommend to anyone.

I have been a couple of times with my boyfriend as it is literally less than five minutes walking distance. I quite like the decor and although the seats look uncomfortable, they actually aren't. We have never had to wait to be seen to, as soon as we come through the door we have been attended to. Drinks arrive quickly after being ordered and the staff are pleasant. The first one or two times we waited a good 40 minutes plus for our food, despite being the only ones in the restaurant. Although the next couple of times were quicker. The food is really average, not much better than what people make at home, but not in a bad way as the food itself was nice, just plain, simple and basic. I heard the chef had changed which I think improved my last few visits as like I said, the wait and the food improved after the first few times. Would come again as it is so local but wouldn't come for an occasion or anything it's just too average for me.

My husband, daughter, granddaughter and I had lunch in the Crown and Thistle yesterday, all of our meals were beautifully presented and piping hot. Good quality reasonably priced food and a pleasant atmosphere, what more could you want. We will definitely return.

We live near here so go around 2 -3 times a month. Its a nice pub with good staff. The food is simple but nice the burgers are all home made and are really good, i have tried other things on the menu and all in all its all pretty good. We always sit in the back area which seems to be set aside for food, all wooden bench's but comfy and cosy. We have taken our baby in pushchair on last two visits and the staff were really good at getting us a decent table to fit us in. Decent beers on the bar and overall really really reasonably priced.

Popped in one sunday for lunch as we live round the corner and had a sunday dinner disaster! Seated in one of the lovely booths and ordered sunday lunch. You get exactly what you pay for a choice of which meat, a yorkshire pud, gravy boat and a selection of veg. Couldn't complain at all. The staff were very attentive and weren't in a hurry to get rid of you. They were chatty and gave a good "you local" feel Very reasonably priced, no fancy frills a good home cooked sunday dinner Would pop in again

Very friendly atmosphere. Staff very friendly food amazing . Sunday lunch is lush car park space. Children welcome .

We went to the Crown and Thistle for the first time tonight and it was lovely. Nice decor, friendly and accommodating staff and first class food. Will definitely be back to test the Saturday night steak night and the Sunday lunch.

Great meal and great service last night, the presentation of the food was novel with the chips in a small mock frying basket, all on a wooden platter. The quality of the fillet steaks was first class.You can choose a quiet booth for an intimate night or one of the raised booths nearer the bar area if you're looking for a more atmospheric American style of dining.

Excellent Sunday lunch at a reasonable price, just wish the table we were sat at had been bigger,will definitely be back to try rest of the menu !!!!
