Solid pub, one of the best in Manchester for the service and variety of beers. Fairly expensive, but that's to be expected from somewhere that showcases local brews made in someone's shed that nobody's ever heard of. All of the staff are wonderful and friendly, and in the cold months the log fire tends to be on in the back room which is as cosy as you could ever want. Bonus points for sitting next to a cat in a hoodie one time, that was sick.

The shabbiness is the charm, very nice in the afternoon when you can grab a table.. excellent selection of beers. Busy on a weekend evening but still pleasant.

C&K es un buen pub tradicional en el que he estado muchas veces, pero mi última vez el sábado 25 la música era demasiado alta. Había 7 de tomar bebidas en 2 mesas, no podíamos oír a los muchachos y nuestra mesa contigua debido a la música demasiado alta. Por la noche podía entenderlo, pero no por la tarde. Como nota positiva , la música era buena y el personal del bar es rápido y eficiente.

Great pub with a nice atmosphere and interesting architecture. Service was a bit overwhelmed with how busy it was, but can't complain really. The most important thing was the beer, which is excellent.

Went here with a few mates and we decided to leave after one pint. Was very crowded, overpriced and the bar tender who served us was rude and obnoxious. Wasn't a good atmosphere and wouldn't return.

Always the first stop when getting into Manchester. The building is stunning, and it looks even better since they renovated the bar area and knocked through to the other side. Great selection of drinks and always fantastic music playing in the background. Highly recommended.

Asked for a pint of pale ale Barmaid" it's this one "pointed to a ale so I said" do us 1 of them please "she poured the pint and I went pale when she said the price 6.30 ffs

This is a place that definitely has a nice vibe with great drinks and cool staff. DJ Conner is definitely doing his thing with the turn table! I love this place. Highly recommend it!

Esta es nuestra quinta década de uso de este Pub y simplemente nunca decepciona. Situado en la calle del tío abuelo es un lugar agradable y tiene algunas bebidas estupendas también. La gama de cervezas es brillante y siempre están felices de que usted pruebe antes de comprar, lo que significa que obtiene exactamente lo que desea. El servicio en esta ocasión fue rápido y amable y el barman recomendó algunas cosas diferentes para nosotros. Era un día de otoño bastante cálido, así que nos sentamos afuera en el sol, que era genial, pero dentro del pub está lleno de historia y vale la pena una visita por el techo solo!

Didn't know this place existed till my friend took us and its a great place to visit. Has a few different lagers, ales etc on tap,unique decor,well worth a visit and we will definitely be back

Super solid pub not far from centre of Manchester. Very solid Guinness as well.

I didn't give it 5 stars because there was a lot of noise. Many men screaming. But it was soccer day.

Greeted by a very friendly and helpful bar maid. The pub has several hand pumps, but the selection was a little samey. It would be nice if there were more styles of ale were offered. I would definitely revisit and if the selection of ales was more diverse this place would be a 5 star boozer.

Fantastic architectural gem serving a choice of great cask beers.

A good range of cask and keg beers all shown on a large screen. Plenty of outdoor seating to the front and side of the pub, sun all day when it's out. Dog's allowed. Can sometimes take a little longer that would like to get served but that's only because it can get very busy. Well worth a visit.

A must visit when in Manchester

An excellent, well-restored pub in a great location. The beer options are vast and range from local breweries, offering sours, IPAs, and other craft ales, to Internationally-recognised staples. The service is quick and many of the staff are knowledgeable, which is always a bonus when you are looking to sample something new, and if you manage to visit on a sunny day, the outside seating is a great place to watch the world go by. If you are looking for a great place for a pint in the heart of the Ancoats/NQ areas of Manchester, you can't go far wrong with this place. Highly recommended.

I went here for an American 4th of July bash. No regrets. While the American ale I purchased was expensive because it was imported, I appreciated that the employees let me know the price beforehand. I gladly spent the money and also ordered a hot dog for my husband and I. Which were delicious. The building is gorgeous and it was highly festive and will say, the event helped ease my home sickness a bit. My British husband also enjoyed the event and festivities and in general we both loved the festivities. I look forward to more events and hope there's another 4th of July bash next year as well. Thank you crown and kettle for the amazing time and the amazing service. Your employees are lovely and appreciated how kind and lovely they all were!

Situado justo lejos del barrio norte en la gran calle Ancoats este es un pub que hemos estado utilizando durante décadas y siempre nos lo pasamos muy bien allí. El lugar está lleno de historia y vale la pena una visita solo para mirar el techo, lo creas o no! Esta visita en particular fue un jueves soleado y el lugar estaba ocupado tanto por dentro como por fuera, pero todavía tenían un montón de mesas disponibles. Tienen una fabulosa gama de bebidas a precios razonables y esto es tan variado que definitivamente hay algo para todos. Otra cosa buena fue que siempre tienen un montón de cosas para que te sirvan rápido y de una manera amable. Fue genial sentarse al sol y disfrutar de una cerveza o dos mientras observa las concurridas calles a su alrededor al mismo tiempo.

We popped in for a drink with some friends and had a great time. They have a nice selection of beers and the staff were very knowledge.

I've lived in Collyhurst and Miles Platting all my life, there are well better places, the place looks and smells like a aderelict building, full of plastic mancs like most of the other establishments around the area. Prices are fair.

From the spectacular architecture to the friendly service and range of drinks, this place is always worth a visit! The outdoor sitting in summer is definitely a plus, and even in winter the inside of the pub is something unique and very welcoming. Extra points for having alcohol free and gluten free options!

Good options/choices for drinks , it always seems to be busy so can sometimes be difficult to get served.

Lot of things changed here in the past 3-4 years. The selection of beers was much better when Nicky was in charge. Still one of my favorite pubs.

Great pub with cracking beer, however if you're not going to open until an hour after your advertised opening time, then change the advertised opening times so people are aware!

Stopped off here for a drink before a booked evening meal and were really impressed with the range of beverages on offer. It is an independent pub so had lots of choice of beers, ales, lagers and ciders and the choices we made were tasty. Friendly service and lovely internal decor. Worth a visit - we will be definitely be back when in Manchester next.

While the service is top-notch, some of the beers may be on the pricier side.

Hmm, I'm afraid I found the Crown over priced compared to most, and they had sold out of the lager I drink.

So disappointed no atmosphere....decor not sympathetic with the building no comfortable seating....wouldn't recommend or visit again plus super expensive ....the group I was with all agreed.

Both the scotch egg and the haggis pakora from the new food menu were excellent. Served by an incredibly helpful Bethany!

A great pub with good beer. By law, you have to admire the ceiling in there. The staff are really nice too.

I want to like this bar, its a great setting. The service isn't the fastest and the beers are eye watering in cost. Even the bar over the road is cheaper. But admittedly there are less.. err.. choice individuals

This pub has been boarded up for decades and I always remember it as a kid with the red boards on the window and the old radio store to the left . This was when Ancoats wasn’t in the city centre and no one lived there ! I always wondered about the history of it and what this incredible building looked like inside ! Now I’ve been in and seen it and it’s fabulous . I’d love the owners to compile information about its history and who has lived there over the ages since 1800 . I’m unsure whether the interior should be restored or just left ? Should your cats tales clocks be waggling ? 🤔 Great range of ales and a nice relaxed atmosphere mid week :)

Always been a firm favourite of mine even in the days when it was a Wilson’s tied house. The decor is simply awe inspiring and has to be seen to be believed. There’s always a great and interesting selection of cask ales on sale - never a dull moment 👍🏻

The Crown and Kettle is a lovely pub with a good selection of cask and keg beers and ciders from various breweries all of which that we had were in perfect condition and was simply a pleasure to drink there. All in all a lovely pub that will suit everyone.

Probably the best pub in the city centre. Lovely selection of craft and real ales from independent breweries in a beautifully restored historic pub with a little back room with a real log fire. Usually playing quality 2000s indie bangers but at a volume where you can actually hold a conversation with your mates. Friendly staff too. Couldn’t ask for more really especially given most city centre pubs are awful places. Not sure if they serve food or not.

cold food. even though it was pre-ordered, everyone got the same thing. everyone got the same desserts even though there were 3 different options on the menu and each of us ordered different ones. hopeless service. waiting for food 1/5 hour service very slow and we all felt watched. there was no nice atmosphere. the best part is just the host's performance. the rest was boring

I can't believe I've never been here before. Lovely pub and internal architecture. It was very busy but great atmosphere and great service. Will definitely come back again.
