It is a clearly laid out stations with quite good shops

Picc is the rail hub of the northwest. The connections to the city and across the Pennines and to the international airport make it a vibrant busy place. Great to visit just for the buzz.

Great Railway station Very clean

Almost everything you need from a train station like this one. Even a public piano! But only for plugs to charge phones. Most importantly, if you buy anything to eat and drink there are no bins!!! You have to bin everything when you arrive at your destination.

Best station I've ever been to, many trains! Busy on Plat 13 and 14, however very busy on Saturday, 22nd Feb, due to holidays, but I suspect it will be busy on other days!

The First Class lounge is a haven of peace and tranquility where you can sit and watch the bustling station below until your train starts boarding. It's located on the first floor near the big train information screens.

It’s alright, there are some shops and cafes, a sainsbury. All good but I was literally looking for a trash bin for 10 minutes and couldn’t find any, finally saw a cleaner and he said there is one outside the station! . No wonder why people chuck their garbage on the floor.

the most professional and friendly staff I have came across at a train station was departing very early at 6am the staff member took his time and helped me find the right platform bravo for service. Shops are also good and plenty of seating highly enjoyed the experience here

Busy station bringing you to the heart of Manchester. Other Public Transport options can be accessed here as well as many places being within walking distance. There is a bar selling food options upstairs, as well as other usual offerings such as Pret

It was very good and the train was on time as well.I enjoyed it on the Avanti West Coast trains.

Acabo de bajarme del tren y fui a coger algo rápido, siempre visito leon en londres así que pensé que sería lo mismo. Desafortunadamente no. Estaba muy ocupado, la chica de delante era muy agradable pero luego salió un hombre grosero por detrás, estaba apurando órdenes y gritando con su voz estridente. ¿Asumo que él era el gerente? Pelo alto y ligero con el que no paraba de meterse. Fue muy incómodo estar allí. La comida estaba bien, nada que delatar. Londres es mucho mejor. La nueva hamburguesa estaba dominada por la salsa y el pollo de alguna manera seguía seco.

I've used most of the main London stations, Birmingham New Street, Bristol Temple Meads... Piccadilly is the only one in which the information boards were so confusing that I ended up getting onto the wrong train. Needs platform letters, e.g. Platform 4B, rather than more ambiguous "front train" instructions (esp when they show before a "front train" even arrives).

Busy as usual, but coordinated.

Manchester Piccadilly is a fantastic place to visit, offering plenty of shopping opportunities with numerous stores. It is well-connected with bus, tram, and train stations. During the festive season, Christmas market food stalls are also set up at Piccadilly Gardens. Manchester’s Arndale Shopping Centre and showrooms of major brands can be found here as well. It’s a vibrant and bustling area, making it a great place to explore and shop.

I found a lot of miserable not very helpful staff at this train station especially considering the time of year good cheer and all that, apart from that the station itself is very well presented

A very large railway station, well organized, you can easily reach the ticket machines by following the signs at the top, the platforms are also clear and easy to locate. Platforms 13 and 14, from which trains to the airport leave, are a bit far away, but everything is well marked and takes a few minutes. A ticket from Manchester Piccadilly station to the airport costs £4.80 on the TPE (Transpennine Express) line. You must show your purchased train ticket at every entrance and exit from the platform. Free Wi-Fi is available at the station.

As stations go, Piccadilly is 'pretty good' with most things within easy reach. Shops, free toilets and some seating. It's possible from the door and onto a train in a few moments, which you can't say for many major stations.

Friendly staff and helpful when my train was delayed. Directions was not very clear when trying to find platform 14. Staff helped though which was very welcome

Despite being a very busy train station, I have always found it very accessible and handy shops available.

I was in the train station on the 23rd Nov and what I seen a witnessed Against the travelling Community was Disgraceful they was being treated like Animals. They ha e no rights to treat them that way

Me detuve a dar un bocado después de mi larga caminata matutina. Este punto de venta tiene una ubicación fantástica justo al lado de la entrada de la estación de tren Manchester Piccadilly. Tienen algunos combos de desayuno de tazón pequeño únicos, saludables también. Pedí el huevo escalfado con aguacate 🥑 n salmón con café. Pides en la tableta y la comida está lista en 3 minutos... Concepto muy interesante 🙋🏻‍♂️👆👏😁

Very very busy but it's great that we were informed of the regular Free town buses outside of the station which was an alternative option of standing and waiting on the crowded platforms for a delayed trained

Confusing signage. Platform change at the very last minute meant a mad dash up the ramp, over the bridge and down the stairs with suitcases and kids. Drop off/pick up far away from the platforms. Exhausted.

You can basically access everywhere except North England from this station. London, Liverpool, Blackpool, Wales etc. Easily accessible, easy to navigate, refreshment shops, and tickets available to buy in the station

Great unless you want to use platform 13 and 14. They treat you like lowerclass citizens, infact, not even citizens, like you are on the way to prison. The people who check tickets have been rude everytime I have gone through, they treat you as if you are poor and have to use a local area train service so are not deserving of respect. Then you go to the cattle waiting area, which is basically shared with a huge toilet, and it always STINKS of feces and cleaning chemicals . The whole area is disgusting. Decided I'll never use it again and instead walk over to Victoria or walk 5 hours if need be. Not worth being treated like scum

It was very organised when we got there in the afternoon and the staff were very friendly and helpful going through the gates. There are toilets there and quite a few shops and places to eat.

Very accessible and wheelchair friendly! This was my first time getting a train from MCR since becoming wheelchair bound so I was very nervous. I didn't need to be. The staff made it so easy! I booked Passenger Assistance via the App and then when I got to the station it was very clearly signed where I needed to go, and even if it hadn't been there were plenty of staff around to help. I was there way ahead of time to make sure all was okay but there was a very well equipped passenger assistance lounge where I could wait comfortably with some of the best disabled toilets I've seen (yep, since being in a wheelchair this has become a priority for me!). Hannah helped me onto the train, sorted a ramp and guided me to my seat, making sure I was okay and settled before getting off the train and radioing through to MK to let them know I was onboard. A pleasant and stress-free experience at the station so I will be much more confident travelling in the future. Thanks!

It's a train station, not too bad as these things go. The worst bit are the useless operators who run from there - Northern and Avanti are both completely incompetent and overpriced. Closely followed by passengers who stand at the gates trying to find their tickets and hold everyone else up.

Trains come and then trains go!

Taxi pick and drop off on Fairfield Street is a constant traffic jam - must be the worst layout in the country - angry traffic and lots of road rage on display - happily ignored by station management. Platforms 13 and 14 need updating and extending and can be packed at peak times. The main station concourse is too small and can get horribly packed with people - it is desperately in need of an extension to accommodate so many passengers,

Easy to get about, staff were extremely helpful just don't eat in the grill bar upstairs, food was awful and very overcooked

I had a great experience when I was helped by two gentlemen when I missed my first train to Crewe to make a connection to go on to London. I was distraught because I needed to make my connection and this man (I wish I had gotten his name) helped me wonderfully. He told a train master for a different train to Crewe to let me on, and I am about to make my second train on time thanks to both of them. They very easily could have tried to make me buy another ticket or wait an hour for the next exact train, but they didn’t. They got me on to the train, helped me with my bags and sat me down. I have never had a public transport experience quite like it. I thank these two men, for being true gentleman and going above and beyond.

Extremely unhelpful, rude and abrupt middle aged lady with glasses. I was so polite and asked for some assistance. She couldn’t have been more dismissive. Really poor customer service.

Busy but not crazy busy station. Plenty of shops and the free buses saved me a lot of hassle.

A well run train station, it's disappointing therefore to discover that two steak pasties cost £13 with huge amounts of potatoes contained but very limited amounts of steak!

Clean, modern, main line rail station

Several trains cancelled but plenty of shops to pass the time.

For a train station, it has plenty of accessible eating places for a quick bite or for a longer get together - Burger King, Yo Sushi, Hotel Chocolate, but to name a few. There is a pub. Also a number of shops to purchase essentials - Boots, WH Smiths, Sainsburys, M&S Plenty of staff. Close to city centre. Parking available.

There’s is a terrible smell by platform 7. The type of smell that hurts your lungs when you inhale. It catches you by surprise. You need to put up a sign or something.

Nothing to write home about. Quite hectic at times. The shops and taxis are too expensive.

The station seems to get better every time I go which is usually once a year travelling from Sheffield. Facilities seem to get better but still some way to go.

I arrived at Manchester Piccadilly station and was delighted by the modern facilities and efficient layout. This was my first time touring the railway. It was fairly simple to navigate about the station. This station was well-organised, clean, and safe. A good-sized station. The exit signs and the display boards was easily readable. The platforms was excellent sized for the services. Great glass roof. The buzy atmosphere made me excited for my trip to the city. My favourite thing about the station was how many dogs I could see coming in with their owners. In addition to the wonders of hearing people play pianos. (Things like these indicate that the place was nice). Central Manchester was easily accessible on foot.

Staff very available for any information and fortunately they are there!

Very friendly staff in the ticket office, they saved me to travel to Warrington to take my train to London changing my ticket from Manchester Picadilly to London. 🫡

Busy and vibrant … offers wide travel destinations

Sat on the train having been scammed by greedy ticket operations. Please future riders, get your tickets online! Normally you'd think returns are cheaper right? Manc to Blackpool (£24) single is about £20. Manc to London is about £80 return, single about £60? Manchester airport however, £12.90 return. Single is £4.90 online. When confronted with the discrepancy, they shrug it off and say "we don't do online prices". Well no wonder people are always unhappy with rail. Get some consistency going! Station wise: lovely place. Lots of amenities.

A decent station with lots of trains to many different destinations.

Massive station with nice modern facilities right inside a shopping centre, there is also a quick interchange with the trams to take you to more areas in Manchester.

Over priced food and drinks not easy if you have mobility issues to get to food court area upstairs

Because it is the final station, boarding is easy. I went to Birmingham New Street easily without getting lost.

Every police person and employee there friendly as well as easy to navigate through.

We are international travelers. Today I took the National Railway to Edinburgh. The station is very large and there are some shops on the first floor. The toilet is free. It is recommended to confirm where the bus platform is before starting shopping. Our platform 14 also has signs telling passengers when to enter. Some platforms are very far away and require two escalators in between. This is a manual ticket check. There is also a World War I memorial in the middle of the platform on the first floor. The train is quite comfortable, but the noise in the carriage is quite loud. 20240803

The best station in Manchester 😄

Loved it. Absolutely astonishing. I sm surprised there are no Call of Dity Black Ops 3 tribute because the final mission happened in Platform 2.189 in the Tram station of Man Picc.

Quite a busy station, plenty of facilities and overall impressive building with everything you could want in one place... Only drawback are the total jobs worth ticket inspectors stationed across all the platforms. I've had several interactions with these goons, they are all the same with their hand held scanners.... It's so slow and arduous getting your tickets checked here so allow extra time as and when you can! I've also heard how they spoke to a gentleman who dared to enter a platform via the 'no entry's gates (which leads onto the platform anyway) - seriously just install barriers like any normal station???

One place that for me has everything at the station

I genuinely love this place. You cam go almost anywhere and is a major transit hub for my favourite form of transport

BLACK CABS!, a rude and extremely obese driver looked like a boiled pig stuffing his face was to fat and lazy to put a suitcaes in the boot, he said it was too small, we have just travelled from blackpool it had been in 3 car boots, so he was lying and probably dint want to get up, he probably wheres a tena lady, rude i will never use manchester public transport again its hostile

It is a great train station with loads to do. However, I nearly ended up on a train to Barrow because of a misleading departure board.

This station combines the architectural styles of two generations and has a large space. It is a very special thing to sit in the lobby and watch people coming and going, including passengers from all over the world.

I used passenger assist and they are excellent. Would strongly recommend if you have a disability. The one slight downside is that it is not signposted as to where it is. It is adjacent to platform 1 by the way

Easy to find information, interesting access to the platform only with a train ticket

Ok train station, got some decent food and drink outlets but not much seating. Toilets are quite clean but not many of them, so can be long queues at peak times. Some of the platforms are also quite far away so makes changes quite stressful in a journey when going from platform 1 to platform 14, for example.

Qué horror. Oí a otro cliente describirlo como comida de prisión. Jugar en el lado orgánico saludable del desayuno no encubre la comida gomosa insípida. Los huevos parecían platillos volantes, las tostadas eran demasiado masticables y para 2 cajas de desayuno, una con tostadas llegó a £ 20. Sólo fue porque Gregg's estaba cerrado.
