Excellent food,poached eggs are done perfectly 👌 friendly staff

Food was lukewarm, was cold by the time we were halfway through it. I suggested that warming the plates may help keep the food hotter. The mushrooms were tinned and slimy. Owner said they were fresh and fried when I approached him. I'm a mushroom fiend, I know my mushrooms, they were boiled. Waiter had bad B.O, Won't be visiting again.

This wonderful place is an absolute gem! The food is freshly cooked and so delicious. I had a fantastic mushroom omelette with salad and fries today and it was exceptional. The staff are simply lovely 🥰 so friendly, kind and helpful and it is always a genuine pleasure to see them. The Gemini is an iconic and beloved Manchester treasure - seek it out! 💕

Lovely little cafe in a great location, producing delicious food with generous portions. Really friendly staff, I’m always greeted with a warm smile from the lady behind the counter and the kitchen staff usually shout hello or wave as well. Highly recommend for a quick lunch!

This place has been open since I was a student in Manchester in the 90’s. Really friendly safe. Tasty cafe food at a good price. Highly recommend their Full English Breakfasts or their range of omelettes

We went for breakfast, we had the full English and vegetarian breakfasts. Very big portions and I swapped out black pudding for extra eggs. Very good service, nice laid back atmosphere for breakfast. Will definitely come back the next time we stop over in Manchester.

Went last week ordered a cheese sandwich with mayo, was okay but they did not put mayo on, went today ordered same thing on ciabetta and again they didn't put mayo on and no onions, very disappointed! My colleague ordered his in bread and no onions either and his sandwich was not cut! . Also the cheese last week was Grated and this week slices, I feel their is no consistency in the sandwiches. I asked the lady when she handed the food over did they put mayo and she yes!! If they had followed simple instructions then I would have give them a 4/5 hence the 3 star!!!updating my review, bought a cheese salad sandwich and there were no onions no cucumber, I asked for brown bread I was given white, this cafe is very ignorant to customer requests hence I changed my review score to 1.

I have been to this cafe almost every working day during past three months, recommended by my friend. The chicken salad is great!!!! Their burger and chips is very tasty. Their smoothie is very tasty and refreshing. Their customer service is great, staff are polite and friendly and price is very reasonable for the quality and the portion of food.

Brilliant little cafe on Oxford Road. Visited many times whilst working closeby, was always busy with customers. Serve a wide variety of foods from breakfasts, jacket potatoes, pies, sandwiches etc. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting close by. They even do takeout!

Top little greasy spoon cafe with a huge menu and the best latte around.

Visited for the first time today after a visit to the eye hospital. Great place. Sparingly clean with great service.We had a bacon sandwich and a sausage sandwich. Both hot and tasty on fresh toast. I has a cappuccino which actually tasted of coffee, not just hot milk! All served promptly, and an excellent price for city centre. Would highly recommend, especially as so close to the hospital.

Very disappointing, Shocked at this place, No lock on the door in the bathroom. Unfortunately I dont have a photo of the food yet I would not order poached eggs from here, they were not poached/cooked. The Cook he spent all the time to come out to the front walking around which was very odd considering the food was very poor. Females look very sad to be working here, atmosphere is very gloomy.

I have visited a friend in Oxford road, and popped into the local cafe. I ordered poached eggs and cheese on toast. It was Cooked in the best way and a hot-lovely latte completed the meal. It was very quiet at the beginning just two tables. However, when I was living, it was packed in and out side! Of course, it’s a Sunny Saturday! Service was so good, and attentive. It’s perfect and valuable place to stop if you don’t have enough time and starving for a quality food! Is highly recommended.

I have been here often, recommended by my son. The cheese omelette is divine!!!! The staff are the best, pleasant, polite, actually ask if you liked the food. It's also very reasonable.

We visited whilst at the hospital and where sick of the choice of food so decided to venture out. I had a chicken and cheese panini and the wife had cajan chicken and cheese panini both of them where extremely dry and came just on a plate on there own the cajan chicken wasn’t even marinaded it just had a flavouring sprinkled over and both where not nice at all will not be returning

Not enough space on the plate to pour my beans onto my toast at the start of my meal lol. Taste: 10/10 Price: 10/10 Presentation: 9/10 (I'm nitpicking about the beans on toast, it's a common mistake, and an acceptable L, but it's also an avoidable L, so minus 1 point) Overall: 11/10 (bonus points awarded for being local and easy to find, no long walks or delivery fees for me when I need a scran) So that's an above perfect score, I'm definitely coming back, I hope you guys give it a try, don't let this gem go under

The first time I've visited since graduating from UMIST, and the food was as good and reasonably priced as it was in the 1990s. Certain new dishes to cater for changing tastes But a full cooked breakfast for hungover students seems to be one long and current tradition still going.

My dear friend of 30 years is on palliative care in MRI, I wanted to surprise him with his favourite sandwich, as I live over 2 hours away it was too far to transport a hot sandwich, Gemini offered to make the exact sandwich I required even though it was not on the menu, Truly exceptional service and kindness at such a difficult time

We visited the Manchester Museum which was great, however the cafe was a Vegetarian one?? After having a rant to my poor girlfriend about why they should serve sausages, black pudding and bacon with their breakfast, I vowed to find a real breakfast. This is where the Gemini Cafe came to the rescue.... Upon entering, we were pleased to discover a clean and traditional type of cafe. We ordered our food. I had a full English with Sausages and bacon (yes!) My girlfriend had eggs and chips. Food was lovely, coffee excellent and the staff were absolutely lovely and friendly. Loved it.

I visited mid morning, the place was quite quiet. I was greeted warmly by the lady behind the counter. My order was taken in a friendly and efficient manner, and was told my order ‘black Americano & sausage on toast would be brought to me! I chose to sit outside, this was a great choice as I like people watching and this is a busy area. My order arrived in timely fashion, the coffee was nice and a decent size. The sausage on toast was ok, standard catering sausages. However I added tomato sauce the tomato sauce bottles give the impression it is Heinz! With how liquid the sauce was I doubt very much it’s Heinz or it’s watered down. This spoiled the visit a little. However on scoring I have taken into account the price and believe value is offered. I don’t get to this part of Manchester very often. I would stop for a coffee again if I was!

Lovely cafe located right at the bottom of the University campus. Service is quick and friendly, the food well priced and really nice. Definitely recommend it here for the Full English or Toasties

The avocado and poached egg dish wasn't bad. The staff member at the counter was rude. She messed up my order and blamed me impatiently. The other staff were nice, but the café is small and uncomfortable. I wouldn't come again.

I've been here many times over the years, it's a great cafe that's has consistently good meals. I particularly like there breakfasts but currently cutting back the calories and opted for one of their omelette's which was tasty, of good portion and comes with a side salad or fries (I had to opt for the side salad) just be careful what you ask for on it cheese, ham and onion with a can of coke came to £9.40! There's parking on Denmark Road a few mins walk away and its facing the office block of the hospital so great convenience for NHS staff and students.

Had a very risky relief of my rectum this morning. Once I had sat down and committed to the deed, it occurred to me that the cubicle lock had fell off and not been replaced. Luckily, the throne in this establishment is quite cramped and I was able to reach forth and press my hand against the door, protecting me from any would-be intruders and I was even more fortunate that no-one made an attempt on my privacy in the first place. However, this totally detracted from the moment of calm in my morning movement that we all so desperately crave. Beyond this faux pas, Gemini is a nice café. The decor and ambience is pleasant, the food and drink is well-priced, and the coffee is rich & smooth, so my experience with the place was overall good. I do wish however they would serve Quorn-style vegetarian sausages rather than vegetable sausages. The latter are far lower in protein and not very breakfast-y. I pray my issue is resolved by the time you read this.

Where do I begin!!! Been coming here since 2006, along came husband and then came baby! Our daughter is 14 and she loves Gemini! It’s our favourite place to eat. Awesome staff and owner! Warm, welcoming, accommodating and attentive. These folks have the biggest heart’s ever and it shows in the excellent food they provide!

I popped in here for breakfast with my son, who was moving out of his University halls. The place was lovely...clean and colourful and with plenty of places to sit. The staff were very welcoming and extremely polite as well. I ordered beans on toast and a cup of tea and my son ordered a panini and a soft drink. I expected to have to collect the food from the counter but a very pleasant and smiley man brought it to our table. I don't know if it was because I was hungry or not but my beans on toast tasted so good and the tea was great as well...I could have eaten it again! My son enjoyed his food too. To sum up, I am really pleased to have discovered Gemini Cafe and it is on my list for next time I'm in Manchester. I would definitely recommend Gemini Cafe to everyone. Oh...and the prices are good too!

ordered the breakfast: cheap sausages, overdone black pudding and an odd fried half of a tomato. first time being there and the only pro was the price. but does match up to the lacking quality. decent portion size but that’s it really. awkward environment and weirdly loud music.
