The Crown and Anchor in Camden

Having arrived in London on a Saturday evening was worried about where we would eat and that it would be affordable. Stumbled across this lively pub at the back of Euston Station. Managed to get a seat. Food was lovely and good price. Staff friendly. Being from Staffordshire was good to see Titanic Ales 🍺

I was in London for 2 weeks with work and found myself at a loose end one evening. I went for a stroll and found this pub, it looked busy but I hovered outside and had a pint. Around 7ish, the crowd died down and I sat under a heater, had lovely pints and read my book in peace. The following week, I had some spare time, so again wandered down. Although I didn't eat there, if the food tastes as good as it looks, you will be in for a treat. As I was alone, when i needed to use the facilities, I really appreciated the staff keeping my drink behind the bar until I returned. Great atmosphere, great beers, great staff.

Came to this pub with a few work friends after finishing work for the week, it is such a nice pub here! The inside is decorated beautifully, the staff are very helpful and the outside seating was so comfy, seating the seven of us without any issues. I would definitely come here again for a night out!

Lovely welcoming pub for myself & daughter.We had not booked a table and found the Crown & Anchor after a long walk from Primrose Hill & Camden so we needed food & drink! The staff are lovely so polite and friendly,good menu & selection of beers & ciders. I had the chicken ham & leek pie my daughter had the nut roast both were delicious,served piping hot with a smile.Well done,compliments to the chef.

My fiancé and I met at this pub 4 years ago. We went back this year on our anniversary and the team went above and beyond to help us celebrate. We can't thank you all enough, and we can't wait to come back for our next anniversary!

This is fantastic place for Sunday dinner, lunch or snacks, the desire is fantastic so very clean and vibrant, paw and his amazing team see do friendly and always gi one step beyond to make you enjoy your visit. The food is an absolute dream and drinks are really excellant and cocktails are made to perfection if its sunny then you hav seating outside so recommend you visit. It's perfect it your on your own. Came here with some friends for a drink after work. The selection of cocktails and draught beers is fantastic and the staff is very knowledgeable about what they serve. Gui and Pawel were absolutely amazing and looked after us. (I also tried the Halloumi fries which were the best I ever had). I cannot recommend this place enough!!

I first discovered C&A when I started working round the corner from it. such a great pub, lovely staff, great food and drink. We recently had our Post Christmas in Jan and Pawel was amazing when it came to re-arranging the dates from December to Jan, due to the RMT strike action. He was also very accommodating in terms of the area, as we were a large group, he kindly cordoned off the area so we had privacy, sorted us out with Turkey in Jan and very accommodating to Gluten free and vegan dietary requirements. My team loved it, and would come back again. There are so many pubs around Euston, but C&A for us is by far the best! We come back time and time again, a hidden gem

We wandered in by chance while looking for somewhere to watch the football. No football but the most amazing beef and ale pie and bangers and mash.

We ate here this evening. The food was truly awful. Smallest piece of cod you’ll ever see for £15. Nachos soaked in oil. Squid in batter; cold. They’ve had my money but they won’t get it again. Do yourself a favour and steer clear.

We love this pub! We travel into London via Euston a handful of times a month for work and pleasure. We always make The Crown and Anchor one of our stops without fail. A two minute walk from Euston (30 seconds from Euston Sq) It has the best selection of Ales/Beers/Soft drinks hot or cold. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and you’re always welcomed through the door with a smile. Lovely ambiance, great decor , seating outside of the weather is good. So if you have a little time while waiting for a train journey or even just passing, pop in here. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice pub !! Had some time to kill waiting for a train from Euston. So popped in far a couple of beers. Decent selection on tap and the bar was well staffed so you didn't have to wait long. Didn't have any food as I had already eaten but the food going past did look Decent!!

Overpriced and undelivered!! Today we experienced terrible service by the brown haired lady with the pony tail who was rude and lied about there being no more chicken roast dinner. Arguably the worst roast dinner I have had in London. Do not be deceived by good reviews.

Friend and I went into here before a football game, and the bar snacks menu which is priced reasonably well for London: was unreal. Well worth a try for a quick bite to eat and a pint.

Came here on Friday 16th August and actually had a nice experience. Whilst waiting for husband to join me, I googled reviews for the C&A; and saw they were by and large not favourable. So I thought I'd share my positive one for balance. The pub chain, M&B;, subsequently rewarded me with a 25% voucher and I duly returned the following Friday with the intention of using voucher. As I arrived first, I asked to set up a tab to take full advantage of the discount offered. Was told they don't do tabs and, notably, the reception and service I received was very different from the previous week. Rude, surly and the small barmaid pointedly ignored me when I approached the bar. I emailed Head Office once more to update them and to also mention that 25% discount off one order is not as generous as it may initially appear. Shani at head office very kindly acknowledged my complaint and said the manager of the pub would be in touch within three days. Today is 29th October and I am still waiting for that response and no further emails have been received. I do believe in giving businesses the chance to respond directly before complaining on social media/ tripadvisor etc but this has clearly not been effective in this instance. So does anyone want a 25% voucher for a pub I won't be returning to? Exmouth Arms is a much better shout if you want a nice friendly drink before catching a train ;-)

We have been on the long walk to home when we decided to go to this pub, the food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the sausage and mash and steak pie. Good service, good food, what else can you expect for that price. Strongly recommended !

We called in on the 7th September 19 as we had a couple of hours to kill before catching our train. Pub was clean, tidy, nicely decorated and the staff were terrific and the pub is a 5 minute walk from Euston. This is the best pub around Euston I have found, that offers great hospitality and all at a reasonable price.

My colleagues and I popped into the Crown and Anchor for lunch. I haven’t been there for years as the service went downhill and you used to wait ages for your food, but it has since been refurbished and as my colleague had been recently and said it was OK we decided to go.

Se negaron a arreglar nuestro pedido e insinuaron que deberíamos irnos. Nos esforzamos más, simplemente queriendo la comida correcta y diciendo que era su responsabilidad corregir su error. Ellos respondieron diciendo que era nuestra culpa por hacerles la situación confusa. Insistieron varias veces en que no habían hecho nada malo. Al final, esperamos más de una hora por comida que nunca llegó. Servicio horrible en general, empleados muy groseros y, para los dos amigos que realmente obtuvieron lo que ordenaron, recibieron comida mediocre. No vale la pena la estancia.

Booked for Sunday lunch sorry to say the food was not good we had the roast chicken dinner the chicken was over cooked the Yorkshire pudding was rock hard and some of the veg not cooked pigs in blankets were raw so will not be returning

Was there a few days ago. No Doombar. A number of leaks coming from above meaning literally buckets on the floor and on tables. We had reserved a table for dinner but the table next to us was cordoned off with buckets on the table catching the water. No running water in the gents toilets meaning you could not wash your hands. Totally unsatisfactory. Amazed Camden Health & Safety have not been round. Suffice to say we ate elsewhere. Avoid at all costs would be my advice. They need to sort their house out.

Este lugar sirve comida y bebida. Pedimos una botella de vino y casi la habíamos terminado, momento en el que fui al baño. No había agua en los baños. Había un cartel en la puerta que le decía a la gente que usara un solo cubículo deshabilitado si querían lavarse las manos. Lo que significaba que el 90% de las personas no se lavaban las manos. Todo lo que tenían que hacer era proporcionar un poco de gel de alcohol para las manos, pero no. Le pregunté a alguien detrás de la barra. El hombre era extremadamente e innecesariamente agresivo, diciendo que no nos servirían más bebidas. Como si quisiera tomar más bebidas en un establecimiento donde los clientes, y probablemente también el personal, no puedan lavarse las manos. Esperemos que este lugar se cerrará pronto.

Vine aquí por recomendación de un amigo que lo usa regularmente y nos pareció un pub muy aceptable. Como alguien que ha usado Euston Station regularmente durante años, me sorprende que no lo haya encontrado antes.

Very strange scenario. Came here with my friends, we had a good chat. We were told to be quiet, strange considering we could barely here ourselves think, seemed as though we were being targeted. Although thinking it was strange we left shortly after in an attempt to not cause a scene, I was unable to let this go and asked the manager whether we had said something specifically which he disagreed with, he was rude and told us to leave immediately as he had a bar to run. Disappointed and can’t help but feel as though the manager had a problem with us, the only thing I can think of is that we were Chelsea fans talking about not liking Liverpool fc and he was scouser.

We were just having a pint and told to be quiet from the manager. There was only 3 of us and we weren’t making any more noise than anyone else. Seemed completely unnecessary and bizarre. Not sure why the manager had an issue with us, but I would suggest he’s not cut out for bar work if he can’t handle the deafening noise of a few lads having a chat. Avoid if you intend on being louder than a mouse.

Came on a visit with friends who were visiting London. The manager came over and shouted to us at our volume of conversation. We asked if he was joking and he was not. We were shocked at being told our volume was too loud for a pub and being told our look was not suited the pub (we had Chelsea tickets and he was from Liverpool). What started off as a good visit ended in us vowing to never go there again due to this awful manager.

A good selection of lagers and craft beer. A good lunchtime food menu. Tasty and filling burgers and not too badly priced for London.

Third time I’ve been here over the last 12 months and what a let down this time. The bar was busy and so I expected to be patient and wait. From arrival I was greeted with a rude waitress who had been collecting plates etc and she shouted for me to “get out the way” which was completely unnecessary.

La comida deliciosa, bien hecha y servida calentita. La cerveza muy variada. En nuestra última noche en Londres decidimos volver a honrar el gran trato que recibimos! Pubs en Londres hay miles, pero la hospitalidad y cariño, buen ambiente y trato recibido, lo encontramos aquí! Y sí, también tiene cerveza sin gluten.

I have been here a couple of times and it was great. So me and the wife popped in for lunch. Oh dear oh dear. First of all they had run out of half the lunchtime menu. So we ordered the fish pie and sausages and mash. The fish pie was so salty it was inedible. My poor wife was devastated and extremely thirsty. The sausages were burnt and tough as old boots. I've now gone from always recommending this place to telling people to beware. I would rather have gone to a chain pub that serves those awful frozen Brakes Brothers meals than eat what we were served today

Came for an amazing Sunday roast today. Order the veggie nut roast and my friend had the roast chicken. The portions were huge and delicious!! Amazing value for money and really tasty. We were stuffed and content by the end!

Vinimos aquí como familia para un almuerzo de domingo, uno de nuestro grupo es alérgico al gluten y a los lácteos y, básicamente, no había mucho para que ella comiera, excepto una ensalada o papas fritas, ¡una excelente opción para un almuerzo de domingo! La actitud del gerente tampoco fue muy útil, no hace falta decir que no volveremos a comer aquí de nuevo. !

Ha sido recientemente renovado, el personal del bar es increíble, no importa lo ocupado que esté, no espere mucho para que le atiendan. Dos visitas en una semana, ya que teníamos dos partidos a mitad de semana en la primera visita, cenamos, el menú lo describió como Huevo de jamón y papas fritas, así que el jamón era más como un bistec cocido servido con dos huevos y papas muy sabroso. Gran selección de bebidas volveré.

Ordered the beef roast, which came with two good sized slabs of meat, fairly juicy with a bit of fat and toughness around the edge, so meat ok... BUT what really makes a roast are the accompanying bits (in my opinion) especially the potatoes.

A year since we were last in London, we enjoyed our first visit to the Crown and Anchor last time and decided to call again before the train back to Manchester - this time with time to have lunch.

Now that the Bree Louise has gone the way of HS2 it was good to find a more than adequate replacement nearby. Friendly staff and a good selection of craft ales. Funky décor too. Didn't try the food, but I'll be back for more beer.
