As a frequent solo diner around all of the Cotswolds, I have frequented many local eateries and have previously stayed at the Crown. Last night I thought I would indulge myself by dining there. I had two starters rather than one main. The service was excellent, the team were friendly and attentive and the food was 1st class!! Thank you Reece, you really are a top chef, funds permitting I may come back again tonight !!

The pub has a new chef with a new menu so we thought we’d give it a try. The food was excellent. Good portion sizes and a reasonable price. The service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. The dining area has had a complete makeover and looks absolutely lovely with exposed beams and soft lighting. Very cosy on a dark autumn night. Overall very impressed and we will be back very soon. Keep up the good work.

We have been before. I have reviewed it well, previously, although some years ago, now. However our experience most recently wasn’t good, and not what we expected. We still like the pub and the atmosphere, but the menu was unexciting (at best) and not a match to what we had seen advertised online. But, we had a positive outlook, and our previous experiences to rely on, so we ordered from the unexciting menu. Truly it was terrible - some of the worst food ever. I couldn’t eat mine. It was just stodgy, virtually no flavour, and at a nuclear level of heat. My other half ate his, but said it wasn’t good, and in fact spent the rest of the day regretting that he had in fact consumed it. We should have said something, but honestly, I didn’t know where to start. We were very, very disappointed, and it is unlikely we will return, which I count to be a real shame.

My wife and I visited this pub for lunch today. We found it in the AA Best Pub Guide, unfortunately, in our opinion it did not live up to its billing. The Crown is a pretty pub in a lovely village. The welcome was warm and the service outstanding. Unfortunately not everything on the menu was available. My wife had fish and chips but she thought the fish was almost certainly frozen and not fresh. I had Macaroni Cheese which was short on Cheese but otherwise OK. Perhaps they were having an off day but the pub was, in our opinion, not one of the best.

Really nice ambiance - booth or table choice for Friday night (booking essential to avoid disappointment.) Excellent menu offer & very tasty chef specials - I had the Partridge …wow exquisite! Rest of party had Curry ( Chefs special ) and the Thai expertise of the Chef was in obvious evidence in a rave review of our diners! Pudding offer was excellent! 1 of our party a teetotaller so pleased to have the Corona ‘Cero’ was welcome although they could have a wider selection.

Stayed for 1 night as a journey stopover. Pub atmosphere was good with the pub being surprisingly busy for 5pm. Food was lovely with large portions and reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and chatty. Unfortunately our room was very cold when entering (had not been warmed through)so we immediately put on the electric radiator provided which helped. Room was cold due to gap in metal windows not shutting properly. Bathroom was modern but needed a good deep clean (mould in shower) and toilet roll holder falling off wall! Room decoration was modern and artful but basics need to be covered eg no pillow or mattress protectors used.

Have really enjoyed their Sunday lunches so we called in at the end of a bike ride on way home. We both had the sloppy beef pizza which frankly was awful. I don't normally post negative reviews but they really should not have served customers this rubbish. They had utilized some left over dried up meatballs, god know how long they had been hanging around, the 'extra heat' comprised the addition of jalapenos from a jar which tasted of vinegar, the 'crispy bacon bits' were neither crispy nor bits, they were chopped up chunks of undercooked bacon and the whole pizza was covered with a mustard flavoured mayo dressing of some sort which was not listed on the menu - if you don't like mustard this would be an unwelcome addition. I wasn't expecting an Italian wood fired pizza from a local pub but this showed a complete lack of care for the customer.

I stayed the night here in a modern, clean and comfortable bedroom above the pub. There was a newish bathroom - with a bath and a shower within the bath. Comfortable bed. Kemerton is not that noisy do even though the bedroom overlooked the road I got a good night’s sleep. Dinner was standard quite good pub food - I had fish cakes - and the breakfast was quite good: a decent choice of cereals and the option of cooked breakfast (I didn’t have this). The pub itself is clearly a popular local. Staff were friendly. Overall, a good place at a reasonable price. I’ll go back here.

Visited on a Tuesday night, found the pub full of locals at the bar and a few visitors in the restaurant area. No specials on the menu, but sufficient choice of food to cover most tastes. A good reasonably priced wine list, but we stuck to the beer, which was high quality, well looked after and a good variety. We had a beef pie and a steak, both of which came hot, good sized portions and much more importantly excellently cooked. This is clearly a good local pub, well run and welcoming to guests worth a visit

The welcome was lovely and service was attentive. Basically only roasts were available, but then we knew that. I can speak for the beautiful lamb with a gorgeous gravy. Veg was aplenty with particularly wonderful carrots. Personally I would have preferred a couple more roasties. The grandchildren wolfed their pork and beef which was wonderful to witness. Nice place with a comfortable atmosphere.

We were staying nearby and The Crown was recommended to us as a good place for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. It’s not huge so is worth booking as we did and it’s clearly popular. It’s a traditional Sunday roast menu with beef (cooked rare and all the better for it!), lamb, pork and a mushroom and nut roast. When we asked, yorkshires were offered with everything and all dishes were accompanied by roast potatoes, and dishes of veg and extra jugs of delicious gravy. The portions were all very generous. There was a starter and a pudding board but we were all too full for that!Service was efficient and friendly. Our only comment was that the plates needed to be hotter - some of the food seemed to cool down a little too quickly.Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Food was fine, service was terrible, bar staff inexperienced, waiting staff really should be trained better in customer service, nobody seemed to be in charge, we finished our mains and after an hour of waiting we went and asked for desert menu, we had to go to bar and get our own drinks and then to pay the bill, it wasn’t even busy, really annoying when staff start moving furniture around behind us when we’re trying to enjoy our evening. We stopped at this pub after a walk as it was already a bit late and we were hungry. Had a sandwich and a Cesar Salad. The sandwich was 8.95 and nothing special, accompanied by (not very good) chips. The "Cesar salad" i.e. some leaves of lettuce swimming in sauce with some croutons and parmigiano shavings was topped by a entire chicken breast. I have seen much better. Much overpriced for the quality.

The restaurant is situated in a pub in a lovely village and looks appealing, both inside and out. I was there with family for a Sunday roast lunch. Lamb, pork and beef are offered. The pork was deemed acceptable, the beef was only slightly overcooked but the lamb, despite assurances from our waitress, was horribly overcooked and almost too tough to eat. The gravy was the same brown sauce served with each of the three different meats. The Yorkshire puddings were not cooked all the way through. When we complained to the waitress about the overcooked lamb the manager came to our table and apologized. He graciously removed the lamb from our bill. I doubt we will return.

I'd said I would like the vegetarian pie, depending on the ingredients so she said she would ask. Apparently, the answer was are there any you don't like? She had ordered it on my behalf. I was very disappointed as the content was new potatoes and broccoli in a white sauce. Very dull! Come on, this is 2015, I expected more ( a variety of seasonal veg) and as it was served with mashed potatoes I really can't believe the filling was also potatoes.

The food was fantastic - the chef presented the food on wooden board that comprised of a selection of roasted meats that included pork, lamb, and Roast beef, with stuffing, sausage, roast potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings. You could help yourself to array of the selection. Served separately were your trimmings, including gravy. I must say this was one of the best cooked Sunday Roast, I've had. Compliment to the Chef, and the staff at The Crown Inn. You are a credit to the Village, and the local community for providing such good produce. In fact, being quite a fussy group, we often struggle to find a place that offers something on the menu for all of us, but this did the trick. We'll return!

Whilst en route from Manchester to Bristol, we came off at Tewksbury and had Sunday lunch at the Crown which was only 10mins from the motorway. After some great cask ales and a fabulous Sunday lunch, we continued our journey, having heen delighted by the extremely welcoming Staff and Landlord and the delicious food.

Atmosphere good. Log fire going in the corner. Busy at weekends which is always a good sign. We have been for drinks and staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We went back for lunch and though quite good, it could have been made very good with a bit of effort. I had chorizo in my salad which was cooked just how I like it but when I ate it found it really chewy. On closer inspection the outside skin had not been removed. Once I had managed to pull it off each piece, it was lovely. On my next visit I am planning a proper meal as opposed to a snack and my husband would normally be drawn to fish and chips but the lady on the next table told us the fish was excellent but you had to be careful of bones. If this happened to him then one mouthful of bones would have him not wanting to eat it. I was also surprised that although the meals were reasonably priced, (£13 for two lunches), by adding a pint and a half of coke and a plain baguette (as no bread with salad) I was charged £7.15 which seemed a bit steep. That said I would still go there again as it is so welcoming.

Had a lovely evening last night with a couple of friends, the service was so friendly. We had a lovely meal, the burger was homemade and was so tasty. Great atmosphere, with a lovely inviting log fire. would recommend having a meal or just popping in for a drink.

The food was overpriced and of poor quality. Breakfast was all fried, including the scrambled egg! No attention to basic cleanliness or presentation. Pub ambience was rustic and scruffy place needed a good clean.

Came here for dinner with friends ,starting with the beer a very well kept pint of Butty Bach was very welcome. Found this a very welcoming pub with friendly enthusiastic landlords. I had the sirloin steak which I asked for cooked rare, it came cooked perfectly with lovely hand made chips and a good selection of salad and lovely mushrooms. Although the menu is limited there is enough variety to suit all, better to do a little well than a lot poor, so full marks for the food.

On a recent visit to friends we called in for an evening meal as we'd heard it had changed hands. The service was mediocre. Menu was rather limited in contents. When the meals arrived they looked and tasted bland. Definitely need the condiments to add some taste. As to the price, most certainly not worth it.

We popped in during a very busy Fete for the village and we were greeted by a very enthusiastic barmaid/landlady who had more smiles than you shake a stick at.

We arrived last minute yet the chef patiently waited and served up a very filling dish. It was plaice with dauphinoise potatoes and a beetroot-based side. Personally I'd have preferred more seasoning, but that I was able to add. Service was very good and we stayed over for two nights at the Crown, enjoying excellent breakfasts and (at last for a pub) decent non-alcoholic drinks. [Tip for a thirst quenching drink: one of their cloudy apple drinks plus half a bottle of their non-alcoholic ginger beer - not ale - with ice in a long glass.]

A very enjoyable birthday celebration at Quinlan At The Crown, enhanced by lovely food and good real ale. The ambience maintains a good balance between pub & restaurant. Probably one of the best medium rare steaks we've ever had followed an excellent starter. I was told that they were happy to remove the sprinkler on the hand pump, if required (extra marks). Any suggestions? The jelly, ice cream, shortbread dessert needs upgrading to match the rest of the feast and local ales on offer would be a welcome bonus.

We meet our friends here on Sunday 7th of July 2024 for a traditional Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed. The service from the team was fantastic and the food was great. I had a beef roast which can be hit and miss wherever you go, and it was cooked to perfection. Nice dollop of gravy and Puds were lovely. Well presented food.

Really disappointed with the Father Christmas experience… please don’t spend your hard earned money on this, we felt so underwhelmed and just glad our daughter is young so she didn’t notice how poor it was. Paid £45.50 for 2 adults and 1 child. The elves didn’t have a script, Father Christmas wasn’t very enthusiastic and sat at the front of the barn reading out names and what the children would like… but it wasn’t very clear and all seemed as though they didn’t know what they were doing. Had a 1 second photo with Father Christmas and then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for a bag of sweets… the toy shop is a good idea. 1 toy per child… however for the price of the experience and a £6 toy. The figures don’t add up. You can make reindeer food, and effort has gone into creating the set. Really sorry but we won’t be back. Wouldn’t recommend with children older than 3.
