Great pub with amazing food and drinks all very reasonable prices too .. the staff were great and looked after us like we was a regular. Would definitely visit again and the haddock and chips is probably the best I've tried in land and not by the sea .

Absolute gem of a pub! Advise you pre-book your dinner reservation as they sell out and book up early. We had haddock chips and mushy peas ( got to be done on fish Friday) it was Top value and so were the drinks, we were not disappointed. Could not finish despite trying lol. Super friendly owners 😉and we will 100% definitely return . Thank you for delivering exceptional service 🙏🏽

I enjoyed a very happy couple of hours at this delightful pub. The welcome was warm and friendly. Whilst I was only able to drink, the food being served looked and smelled delicious. The staff are attentive and the service was excellent. I will plan my visit better next time so I can try the menu.

I tried to book a table for lunch and was told they weren’t serving lunch it was only 12.45 on a Friday. I thought it most strange is seemed they didn’t want to be bothered with customers.

Great fish and chips, quick and friendly service, very reasonable prices and a good atmosphere. Clean, tidy and even brews its own beers which complement the wide range of commercial products - very tasty with low prices. Will visit again...

Nice pub with very friendly staff. Went a few times while we were camping down the road. Locals and regulars also liked to chat. Food was good and the fish and chips highly recommended. Nice big garden when the evenings are warm. Built on the site of an unused ww1 aerodrome for those who like aviation history etc.

Made to feel very welcome as soon as we walked in. I'm surprised to see some have complained of length of wait for grub. The food wasn't produced as quickly as Ronald McDonald does it but heck, we were having a drink and chatting; this is what pubs are for. The food arrived in a reasonable time and was wonderful, some of the best pub food and drink we've had. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Perfect.

Don’t know why I haven’t written this review before as we go there often enough! The fish and chips (possibly with Prosecco) are just out of this world, words cannot describe how good the fish is and the chips are superb! Not surprisingly the fish comes in fresh (Kevin, the Landlord used to travel to Billingsgate every week) and is only available on Thursday and Friday nights (I think🤔). They have their own micro-brewery so good beer is guaranteed. Kevin and Maria are the nicest people you could meet and have always made us very welcome - it’s how a village pub should be, great atmosphere and lots of regulars who give you a smile when you come through the door. Try it! Liz&Ron

Visited The Crown Inn for dinner and had we not walked 35 minutes to get there, we would have swiftly walked straight out. I have never encountered such rude service. We were the only group in the dining area and were made to feel like we were a complete inconvenience from the moment we arrived. The landlady was abrupt and fractious and it made for a very uncomfortable visit. The food was okay but the service spoilt anything the food made up for. I think the place is only surviving due to the lack of any other establishment around for miles. Best advice - take the car and drive somewhere else

We called in on the off chance, so had not booked; this seemed an issue on the offset. The service was ok, it just took a while for everything to come, and I would not say the place was child friendly at all. If you book in advance, I am sure it would be perfect, but for family diners wanting a quick lunch, this would not be ideal.

Came here today, following a walk with my family and friends with our two small children. From the outset we were made to feel unwelcome. A good selection of the taps were not working, the soft drink dispenser was also not working. The food was poor at best, chips where deep fried with in an inch of there life and the baguette lacked any care or attention. We order 3 baguette and 2 Bowls of chips and it took 55 to receive, considering they opened at 12 and we were the second set of people in there, this felt unnecessary. The decor is old and outdated. I feel this pub could do well from a bit of friendly rivalry, especially as we camp locally and the site is very nice indeed. Unfortunately we come to this village quite often and will not be returning to this pub. I think the photo sums it up.

This is a popular pub, not only for its food, especially the fish, but also it’s well kept beer selection. Now brewing their own beers with two on tap , has added to the choice. Both are good session beers with consistent quality. Both are well worth trying. There is a large car park alongside an even larger garden. Seating outside too for those sunny days.

Went with friends for a late Sunday lunch. We booked. Seated immediately and served really quickly. I had roast beef. Served pink and good thick slices. Good portion. Roast potatoes not great yet we ordered triple cooked chips as sides which were divine. Vegetables lovely. Served separately. The gravy was nice yet really liquifdy. My friend had the pork loin which she said was divine. Really lovely overall lunch

Eaten here a couple of times now and the food most certainly didn’t disappoint! The battered prawns are to die for! Lovely little pub however my first visit was a bit uncomfortable as one of the ladies (I’m not sure if she’s the landlady, she was cooking though) made us all feel a little unwelcome but nevertheless the food made up for it. The gentleman who I believe is the landlord though was lovely, he even let me have a taster of the different ciders they offer - the plum is delicious. The food is so incredible here so don’t let a couple of comments about the staff put you off as it can easily be forgotten once you taste the food!

The landlord and lady??? are extremely ignorant and clicky, making those that are not deemed acceptable by their subjective appraisal feel extremely unwelcome and therefore uncomfortable. If they decide that they do not like the type of person that they decide in their minds that are then you find it hard to get served, having to wait a long time before they actually attend you.. They gossip about people and i will certainly never go in that terrible cold and hostile place again. I was treated very badly for no reason other than because they are bigots and judge people wrongly. basically if your not in their in crowd or if you are different in any way then my advice is save yourself the time and energy and do not go there.

We ate here on a Wednesday night when staying at a nearby campsite. The menu on a Wednesday was pretty limited, but the food was really good, I had an excellent burger and chips, and the lasagne was rated highly as well. Nothing fancy but good food at reasonable prices in a pub with 3 or 4 real ales.

Booked a group birthday afternoon tea, I wouldn’t recommend it. We had jam and cream scones, cup cakes, strawberries and cream, samosa, quiche, macarons and finger sandwiches. Sandwich filling not the best Quiche and macarons 50p size CHEESE scones with jam and cream on aah Strawberries cut up with spray can cream Would have been a lot better if the cakes and scones had been homemade and other items not come from Tesco finger food

I visited at lunch today. I have to say the staff were really friendly and attentive. I have been meaning to go since it re opened. I went with a friend and we both liked the way it has been done out. The staff member explained the lunch menu will be expanded over time. We had a couple of mini pizzas and chunky chips, all tasted good and was good value. I’ll definitely go back again and look forward to what the extended menu offers in the future. In a time of public closures it’s great to see one actually re open. 👍
