Terrible service. Ordered a drink at 12.13. At 12.20 boy came out to see if we had received our drinks. I said No . Never saw him again. At 12. 30 ordered food with a drink. The 2nd lot of drinks came but still no drinks - eventually received 1st lot of drinks at 12.35 !!!! Where is the logic and no explanation. Terrible customer service

Pop in yesterday with my daughter for lunch sat down at a booth table dirty, would of asked for it to be wiped, but 2 servers next to us were clearing a table and did nothing but moan about sorting and cleaning a table a family had been sitting at, then a guy asked them to wipe another table and said with gritted teeth "yes I'll be over in a minute " it wasn't even busy. Cleaned my own table wouldn't even dare asked

The service is great not the best food but if you explain to the staff they will sort it for you, Sunday night the staff are always friendly and helpful

Food lovely but seriously think you should look at reviewing your Peppercorn Sauce. It tastes disgusting and spoils yhe Steak. Bit of a shock for anybody who just tips it on the Steak !!!!

Disgusting meal....overcooked burnt eggs served cold, likewise the bacon....plates stone cold....obviously pre cooked kept under lamps...asked for a fresh plate & just served up the same vile meal....Will never eat there again or any other Wetherspoons. Husband had a burger....so small it was eaten in 3 bites....shameful...

You really cannot fault the quality of the food at the amazing prices . I had the steak and all the trimmings and it was cooked to perfection (rare). Hubby had the lasagna which is a winner.

Get what you pay for. One of the better Wetherspoons in the area in my opinion. Cheap and cheerful.

My mixed grill was very poor,I ordered jacket potato and it came with chips instead. The meat was all over cooked,particularly the steak which was burnt. The egg was solid . Overall very poor,I would have complained but if they are not quality checking the food,I didn’t want to find out what would have happened if I had complained. My wife’s meal was ok. Also out of 15 bottles of mayo,they were all empty. One of the worst we have been to. My wife said the toilets were very clean

Called in few days ago for lunch. Served fairly quickly and meals good for the money. I had curry only thing was rice was quite cold but other than that very tasty. Others had scampi and also the All day brunch, both were tasty. Remember if you visit to put your car reg into the tablet as you go in.

The Cross is definitely on the higher end of the 'Spoons Spectrum'. I eat here very often with my family and the food is always of a decent quality and service is always excellent. This is a great pub for great value good and drink.

Called in for a late lunch today and 2 meals and 2 coffees just over £15 so great value. Only problem was not enough potato mash with mine and the salad made cheese cold on burger so cheese was not melted on the burger meal. Still great value for money.

Visited as a group. Food very nice and a lot of it, quick service even though it was busy. Only bad thing was receiving a fine for parking even though we put our car reg into the machine.

Have been meaning to try this for a while, not got round to it despite being very local. Not a great fan of Wetherspoons ‘cheap and cheerful’ but they’d done a great job in rescuing this landmark pub, obviously spent a lot of money refurbishing and extending it, and it looks the business - from the outside. Was therefore hoping for something similar in respect of quality inside. What a disappointment. Drab, dingy - whoever did the interior decor is in the wrong job. Then getting served at the Bar! Slow, not enough serving, absolutely no idea who was next (the sign of good bar-people - guess you can’t call them barmen anymore), some agitated customers. And a dreadfully poor choice of drinks if you want wine. Will not be returning, ever. The only pluses are looks good externally, and good outside area (though awful cheap tables), but beyond that, not impressed. A constant stream of customers, so some obviously happy that it’s cheap, but some of us want more than that. So thanks Wetherspoons for saving the landmark, but you badly need a refresh inside, and better service and choice.

Really nicely done Wetherspoons. Smart refurbishment, excellent breakfast and friendly efficient staff. We will definately return.

Went today for breakfast my friend had traditional breakfast and I had Eggs bennadict which was really tasty. Came with unlimited coffee, tea or hot chocolate for the grand sum of £5.25. Ordered on app and served up in no time. Only thing that spoilt it was a guy hammering putting up decorations for Halloween which rather spoilt our leisurely breakfast. Remember to put in your car reg just inside on the tablet for free parking for customers.

Wetherspoons have made a good job of refurbishing this rather dated pub. Nice outdoor area with an excellent choice of ales. Have had the steak here on a couple of occasions and always cooked as requested. Good Pizza too!

Pretty much what you’d expect from a wetherspoons but with blander food for some reason - every item ordered arrived lukewarm & the supervisor on duty was less than useless and offered nothing other than a condescending attitude. Wouldn’t recommend.
